Have you heard of the American Indian Movement? Did you know natives had a movement/group in the 70's-80's dedicated to native liberation?
No? It's a part of history they don't teach you in school, but come close and look so I can show you.
Watch this, it's not long I promise. This is Russel Means, a prominent native activists and one of the leaders of AIM. AIM sought to help natives with things like tribal sovereignty, housing, healthcare, and food security.
Here he is testifying to the US government.
youtube
The transcript ^
A little excerpt of the end:
"The American Indian people’s right to self-determination is recognized and will be implemented through the following policies:
The American Indian individual shall have the right to choose his or her citizenship and the American Indian nations have the right to choose their level of citizenship and autonomy up to absolute independence;
The American Indian will have their just property rights restored which include rights of easement, access, hunting, fishing, prayer, and water;
The BIA will be abolished with the American Indian tribal members deciding the extent and nature of their governments, if any;
Negotiations will be undertaken to exchange otherwise unclaimed and un-owned federal property for any and all government obligations to the American Indian nations, and to fully -- and to hold fully liable those responsible for any and all damages which have resulted from the resource development on or near our reservation lands including the -- including damages done by careless and inexcusable disposal of uranium mill tailings and other mineral and toxic wastes.
I want to thank you, gentlemen, for inviting me here. It's been a high honor, especially since I'm the only one invited here today to testify that doesn't receive money from the federal government. Also, I want to make -- I was introduced as a former founder and leader of American Indian movement to the tribal chairwoman that you have here, a former associates for the American Indian Movement back in the days when we were gross militants and so I just wanted to let you in on that, that the American Indian Movement is a very proud continuing part of American Indian Society.
Thank you."

"The American Indian Movement remains based in Minneapolis with several branches nationwide. The organization prides itself on fighting for the rights of Native peoples outlined in treaties and helping to preserve indigenous traditions and spiritual practices. The organization also has fought for the interests of aboriginal peoples in Canada, Latin America and worldwide. “At the heart of AIM is deep spirituality and a belief in the connectedness of all Indian people,” the group states on its website."

[ISRAEL HAS NO JURISDICTION IN THE WEST BANK]
Tumblr media
How can a foreign country imposed their laws on another nation when they are not even citizens of that country?
Israel being a creation of the United Nations, are bound by the United Nations resolutions and borders which specifically creates which areas form part of “Israel”.
Tumblr media
It’s no surprise that a country without a formal Constitution may easily get confused in understanding the real meaning of “sovereignty” and “respect for the rule of laws”.
The West Bank is not even part of Israel, the Palestinians are not even granted Israeli Citizenship. Why and on what basis is Israel detaining Palestinians in their own soil when Israeli law only applies within Israel.
Can you imagine if your neighbouring country imposes their laws on your soil when you are not even a citizen of that country?
Tumblr media
We surely can’t but somehow the lawless apartheid regime finds no error in it.

If you've read my fics, you know that I love history. I love pageantry. I love symbolism. I love beautiful clothes, and art, and jewels. I love going behind the scenes and seeing into castles and manor houses. I love parades, and the hidden meaning behind coronations, and the fairytale unreality of the lives of the gentry.
I believe, however, that all of these things should be ARTIFACTS.
I believe there is literally no point in upholding a monarchy or commonwealth any more.
Allow commonwealth countries become republics. Allow Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales to return to being seperate nations if they vote to become so. Allow those republics to create their own network of mutual support, should they so choose to. There's no reason to not keep up Commonwealth ties and festivals even if there's no Commonwealth.
Repatriate artifacts, art and jewels to their nations of origin. Offer monetary compensation/support for cultures violated and impoverished by colonialism. Help establish democracies where needed, and butt the hell out where they're not. (And especially don't establish puppet democracies, ew.)
Let the British royal family become symbolic tourist attractions, let them fund their own charities, and throw their parties, and knight their artists, and uphold their royal orders of garters and baths, and maintain their personal properties--and make them do it with their own wealth and real estate investments. They're multi-billionaires. They can afford it. They'll be fine.
But remove them from the machine of governance. Detach them entirely from public spending, dependance, or influence.
And if they do participate in traditions of parliament (like the Opening, which is actually really cool and fascinating panto, which I quite like and hope they WOULD continue), man, do it without the silly hat. If the King wants to wear the silly hat, make him pay for the upkeep of the silly hat out of his own pocket. It's HIS silly hat, after all. It's not like we all get a turn with it, even though we do pay for it.
(Actually, the Crown Jewels are owned by the British Public so like... if they want to take them along when they go, make the royal family buy them. And then let them charge museums a fee to loan them for exhibition, just like privately owned paintings by famous Masters are loaned to art galleries.)
Let the royals continue to do all the things the royals do, if they want to do them. Just… make them pay for it themselves. Dissolve the Sovereign Grant, and use all that money to pay for things like restitution, repatriation, and hey maybe increasing public spending on health care and social infrastructure.
Turn the public-owned properties into, yeah, tourist attractions in part (gotta fund their upkeep somehow). But also put public offices in there. Maybe some social housing. Maybe hospitals, with well-paid front-line staff. Event spaces. Seniors care homes. Something.
If Hampton Court Palace can do it, so can Buckingham.
Balmoral and Sandringham are privately owned, there's lots of land and buildings for the family to occupy. They won't be homeless.
Keep the royal family, if the royal family wants to be kept. Include the royal family if the royal family wants to be included. Just make them pay for their own stuff with their own money. And do BETTER things with the savings.
Yes, I'm aware that this may be wishful thinking.
Yes, I'm aware that unscrupilous people may take advantage of monetary support given to commonwealth nations and keep it for themselves. (And I'm not unaware that it would happen in ALL the nations, yes, even Canada where I live. There are a LOT of currently-serving politicians who are vile, scummy, self-serving arseholes.) Yes, I'm aware that mutual support between nations of the commonwealth is all that is preventing famine or religious war in some places.
Yes, I'm aware none of this is as easy as I'm making it sound.
But I think it's time to stop celebrating and upholding centuries of brutal militaristic colonialism and the destruction and subversion of so many beautiful cultures for the sake of some tourist bucks. I especially think it's time for the public to stop PAYING for it.
I love history. I love symbolism. I love the stories of royalty and treachery and gallantry and seduction. I love the architecture of great houses, and the meaning behind golden spoons from over a thousand years ago, and the fascination of birthrights and bloodlines. I love paintings, and balls, and the gorgeous work of exceptionally talented artisans that go into making all the amazing silly hats.
I write historical romances for goshsakes.
And I also think it's time to stick it all where it belongs -- in a museum.

With the new movie, Avatar, Way of Water, recently being released, there is something I want to address.
No one that I know of is really talking about this, but it needs to be said. White people, I don’t give a flying fuck what you think, the very idea of ‘na’vi kin’ is racist as fuck. Full stop. I don’t give a rats ass if you feel you were a dragon or a faerie in past life, none of my business. But you don’t get to touch the Na’vi. They were explicitly based on real world indigenous peoples in an attempt to dumb colonialism down to level where colonizers could understand it.
Na’vi cultures, philosophies, modes of dress, spirituality, are all based off of indigenous cultures of Mikinaak Minis, Abya Ayala, Australia, Polynesia, and Africa. Whatever the fuck you think, this is not a thing you, as a colonizer, get to fuck with.
The amount of cultural appropriation and insensitivity around this bullshit is getting tiresome. If you are a white person living in a colonized place or a place benefiting white people as a result of white colonialism and are appropriating these aesthetics and ideas because you ‘feel a connection’, then you are the fucking problem. You are not Na’vi. You are a plastic shaman, a nasty ass pretendian, and a weird colonizer living out their ‘savage’ fantasy. For some reason, you feel entitled to indigenous cultures because it appeals to you.
Behaving like this makes you the problem. You are an active participant in colonialism. You are disregarding the real world peoples this franchise profits off of. And I’ll bet my ass you haven’t reckoned with your settler/white privilege or done anything to materially help real indigenous peoples who are suffering as badly as these blue people you love so much. You are appropriating indigenous cultures and identities because it makes you feel special. Stop. You think you feel a connection to this, but you are just another colonizer swooping in and profiting from indigeneity while benefitting from indigenous oppression. Somehow, dispute your obsession with the Na’vi, you managed to fucking misunderstanding the basic narrative that the film was trying to tell (however badly that narrative was mismanaged). You, as a white person, have no right to these things. Hands off.

Zionism and colonial modernity
Palestinian resistance is a decolonial struggle against Israeli settler colonialism and U.S. imperialism. This resistance is also confronting the brutal nature of colonial modernity, which is exemplified in Zionism.

I looooove redesigns XD Yep, these are my very old characters that were first created in game, and later i made them as my ocs. Because the game is no longer active and is deleted, I thought about giving them a new form and kinda a new life. I couldn't get to it earlier as i was afraid that i will not be able to do anything with them. Then i realised that even if i'm not capable of drawing everyone and making different moments with them, a fresh redesign still can make them happy, because they have a new fresh start like this^^ So, i hope you will like it^^

"won't someone think of the oppressors! It might be scary to stop oppressing! What if it's scary for us!?
You're gonna feel like such a huge silly goose when you're liberated and you have your fridge stocked with no bills to stress over and your rights protected.
As if you're gonna be sitting there enjoying your life for the first time and be like "Is anyone else worried The State might be stressed without someone to oppress? Should I go check and maybe volunteer to be oppressed?"
Quit babying the people who would literally throw you under a bus if you were the wrong kind of person.
And if you wouldn't volunteer to be oppressed for the state in that scenario then why are you doing it now?

[ISRAEL HAS NO JURISDICTION IN THE WEST BANK PART II]
Tumblr media
Question : Is it logical to have a foreign law in your own soil?
Israel does not recognise Palestinians in the West Bank as sovereign, vehemently implanting their own laws on another nation.
In this post, we draw parallels between bordering countries where our stance is,
"Just because they are neighbouring countries, it doesn’t mean they are not sovereign and a foreign law can be in place."
(i) US-Mexico
Tumblr media
(ii) China-Laos
Tumblr media
(iii) Russia-Finland
Tumblr media
It is entirely erroneous and void to impose a foreign law on a sovereign nation.
The use of Israeli law on Palestinian soil is against Israel’s own jurisdiction as the United Nations via a resolution in 1947 and 1967 has already stipulated the apartheid state’s territorial jurisdiction.
Tumblr media
If Israel wants to implement laws, then those laws should be within Israel’s borders as set by the United Nations.
Therefore, all arrests and orders including home demolition and administrative detention in the West Bank are void and illegal from the start as Israel has no jurisdiction to do so.
In simple terms, the West Bank is not annexed as part of Israel. So, it is a different country altogether with their own set of laws.
Israel cannot impose their laws on the West Bank.
If Israel wants to continue promoting itself as a “law-compliant” nation, they may start by respecting the rule of law.
