The thing that really frustrated me about Secret Invasion was that Fury had Bruce Banner’s blood sample without his consent.
Bruce has been protecting his blood for YEARS. If he ever finds out about The Harvest, he’s going to freak out. This is the same man who said this:
Bruce didn’t even want his cousin to help him right after the car accident. He would NOT be okay with Fury secretly taking his blood sample.
If any Avenger has the right to be mad, it’s Bruce.
End Bruce Banner rant.

We’re 2 episodes in and I’m holding on because there is too much top tier talent is this to not watch, but Lord just give me a cameo of somebody from the original team, cause watching people like Rhodey act like Fury ain’t NICK FURY is making my eye twitch.
This is storytelling 101 tho so I’m gonna try to hang in, but I’m kind of bored with the spy aspect. I still haven’t watched Captain Marvel so the Skrull aspect I’m not really familiar with.

Marvel using ai for the intro of secret invasion due to the parallels of ai disguising itself as real art to the skrulls disguising themselves as humans is clever in the same way that it was clever of the MCU to gradually treat Natasha less and less like a prop and more like an actual character as she begins to view herself as more of a person and less of a weapon.
In that it’s not clever. It’s stupid, horrible, and disgusting and it breaks my heart. It’s these people who make just truly awful mistakes and then fans make excuses for them by coming up with these meta commentaries. Usually I love meta commentaries that turns the studio’s stupid decision/plot hole into something that serves the narrative, but not when it’s used to excuse this kind of horrendous behavior. Even if the studio does this intentionally, it’s not necessary (and just isn’t good or enjoyable). We get the idea. You don’t need to cheat people out of jobs and contribute to the decline of art and storytelling in order to hammer home an already obvious point. It just isn’t worth it. The decision to use ai for the intro is at best lazy and at worst greedy and manipulative.
(just to clarify because my thoughts get really jumbled sometimes, I love it when fans fill in the blanks for plot holes and other things that come about due to understandable human mistakes. It’s when studios pull stupid crap like relying on ai or horribly mistreating characters (especially in prejudiced ways) that I have an issue with and no amount of fans filling in the gaps can fix that. It is cool when it happens and we should definitely keep filling in the gaps even during these crappy situations, I just don’t want to let these studios get away with this stuff)
But other than that and the end I really enjoyed the first episode.

TRUST — Talos
Summary: Barely learning about the Skrulls living among humans, you know deep down Earth is a dangerous place for them. Talos doesn't think the same.
Pairing: Talos x female reader.
Word count: 694.
Notes: Secret Invasion 1x02 spoilers, we're just 3 people watching but still. Mentions of Talos' deceased wife and G'iah.
(I had to do something quick for Talos, yikes. Sorry for the typos or any errors).

GEN MASTERLIST!
"Have you lost your damn mind?!"
Talos sighed. "That's what Fury said..."
"He's right!"
"Listen, I had to do something. I had the chance to make the call and I did it."
You tried to laugh it off, sipping on your glass of water and putting it back into the sink.
"This is ridiculous."
"What? That we've been looking for a place to call home for three decades?" Talos snapped back.
"No! Of course not- forget it," this was your turn to sigh heavily. "I'm sorry, it's been a wild day... I didn't expect you here. Any of this."
The skrull, in his human form, came closer to you, standing by the kitchen island. He decided to see you after his small discussion with Fury. It wasn't on his plans to tell him his secret that way, but Talos understood his displeasement. So he decided to look for you, even if it was dangerous to come by your place, he still felt the need to see you again. An old friend, if that's what you could call it.
"You're the next person I trust," his voice came hardly as a whisper. You locked eyes with his own, filled with a little hope. Hope that you'd wish you had.
"I'm not Carol Danvers. And I am not Fury, I was barely behind Maria... and she's gone."
Hesitating, Talos reached for your hand, and your skin was soft and warm, as he always remembered. Years passed since you decided to be something. Something that had not worked. You left for SHIELD missions around the world and Talos was busy, either assisting Fury or looking for his own people, and now you knew. You knew why he disappeared sometimes for weeks, months even. Not to mention his daughter, who had a difficult time after her mom passed away. It wasn't going well. Somehow, Talos also had to let go of his now gone wife. Get over the grief, and until today, that was still difficult.
"There has to be something... A peaceful manner to be free, get a new place, or be here- I know it."
A bittersweet smile was on your lips.
"You know, I always admired your courage. And the faith you put on us, humans, because a lot of us lost that already."
Talos shook his head, standing even closer to your figure if it was possible. "No, you don't see what I see on them."
"Talos, humans can't stand each other. People can't tolerate different religions, skin colors, or cultures... You've seen the wars and catastrophes around the globe. We can't stand the solely existence of each other. Do you think they will see you like I do?"
Maybe, just maybe, you were getting in his head. But he was foolish, centuries foolish and he still thought humans and skrulls could co-exist. You waited for Talos to speak, but his words never came out.
"Do you, really, think this beautiful of us?" you asked again.
"I do," he said. "I do because I know you."
He leaned in to press his forehead against yours, and you'd be lying if you say you didn't miss his touch.
"As much as I love to hear that, I'm afraid not everyone is like me..."
A silence embraced both of you, in the loneliness of your kitchen. Suddenly, Talos started to think what could have been. If destiny would have been able to give both of you the chance you needed... Maybe G'iah would be here, with you – as her mother figure – and him like an almost normal family, and not joining the rebellion, risking her life.
"I only ask you to trust me like I trust you," Talos whispered against your lips.
"You're asking way too much... but I can try."
Softly, you caught his lips in a kiss. A kiss you both desired to happen since a long time ago, and you wished it would never end to stay then and there forever. His embrace was too comfortable to escape.
"Just tell me where are you going and I'll follow," you said after pulling away. He smiled, beautifully, exactly how you remembered him.
"Thank you."

I have so many thoughts on today's episode. ⚠️SPOILERS⚠️
Gravik is a maniac. The fuck he just wants to achieve at this point? It's not a Scrull homeland or human extinction now. He's just fulfilling his own skewed agenda which nobody seems to follow. An attempt on his life was expected.
Varra was a badass this episode. And the way she loves Fury, it's so tragic and soft at the same time.
And ScRhodey this episode was a pain and I want to finish him off.
I LOVE HOW EVERYTIME I SEE SONYA FALSWORTH, I'M JUST SO DELIGHTED.HER PRESENCE IS SO POWERFUL AND THREATENING. YET IT IS PEAK COMEDY.
ALSO,MY BELOVED TALOS 😭😭😭 HIS FUNERAL 😭😭😭AND G'IAH'S OFFERING 😭😭😭 HE WAS THE GENERAL, HE'LL ALWAYS BE THE GENERAL.
Also, the cliffhanger. Who the fuck did Fury call? Ross? Wakanda? Is Maria Hill still alive? WHO IS IT?

Marvel MCU movie (or is it tv series who cares) Secret Invasion uses AI for their intro trailer
That is the movie senior concept artist speaking up against it
The artists who worked on the movie have nothing to do with this
The intro trailer is outsourced to a different studio because the director Ali Selim think it's a cool thing to try and claim to know nothing about AI
ScreenRant of course missing the whole point and claim that the trailer is clever because it's like the skrulls disguising themselves as the real people just like AI disguising themselves as real art
Update: ScreenRant has since edited their title to remove the word "Clever"
This kinda thing doesn't just happen in the US
Korean game company Rayark let go some of their artists for AI to mix real art with AI
Indonesian movie production Falcon Pictures uses AI to create their movie posters also for a movie based on a Line Webtoon
Search on my blog for details on those two cases
