It’s Sam saying he’s trying to become like Dean and then Ruby asking Dean to help her make Sam into a soldier for when Dean’s gone (to “get him ready to fight this war on his own”) & those reinforcing the idea that Dean’s just a soldier and a fighter and then in the NEXT EPISODE Dean faces his own worst nightmare and it is himself, and the belief he can’t get rid of that he’s just daddy’s blunt instrument and a soldier and he can only get away when he FINALLY lets himself push back against it and say that what John put on him wasn’t fair & that he not only doesn’t want to go to hell, like he tells Sam later, but he shouldn’t have to

Gonna do this just because I'm stupid but like. I like to think Engineer is the kinda guy who counts in hexadecimal and then goes "what, like it's hard?" when someone doesn't get it.
I may or may not be talking out of personal experience after having to convert an entire dataset written in hexadecimal into decimal. Engi pls help
madlads, the both of you....... even i barely remember how to convert hex to decimal. and we can forget about binary. in this house we hate converting decimals into binary or hex for coding purposes (<- is taking comp sci at school)
