First, thanks for the asks!!

My favorite plant in my personal collection is my little marble queen pothos (I love pothos in general).

As for my favorite plant that I do not currently have in my collection, I love umbrella plants!

2. Someone I look up to and why? I consider Athena Perrakis of Sage Goddess to be a huge role model and I look up to her. Not only did she start her own business from scratch to become incredibly successful, she is an absolute wealth of knowledge, wisdom, positivity, kindness, love and compassion. I hope to one day be able to pay for her classes and become a certified crystal healer through her program. I love her community and being part of her events! She has taught me a lot and always is teaching me something new! Not to mention, she is gorgeous!

Don't get me wrong. Tears of the Kingdom is a fantastic game. I'm still having so much fun with it. It delivered on so many fronts. It has my favorite final boss in the series. And the new mechanics really do make BotW feel like a tech demo.

But.

My Big Complaint is: TotK should not have been a sequel to BotW.

(spoilers below the cut!)

I understand why they did it, and think it was inevitable. Getting to reuse the assets and maps saved so much time. And BotW was such a huge success that they couldn't not give it a sequel.

But seriously, what the heck?

TotK's storytelling basically ignored or erased everything that happened in BotW. What happened to the Sheikah tech that was literally everywhere? The Divine Beasts that had been plaguing the four regions for a century? Zelda's incorporeal battle with evil incarnate for 100 years and the inevitable trauma she and Link must have after everything that's happened to them? Nah we don't talk about that. Half the NPCs don't even know who Link is despite having plenty of canonical interactions.

And I'm like, ok, I get it, sure. We are so 100% into this new plot we don't have time to explain away the old stuff and I'll just have to deal with it. All right, sure! BotW had very cool and well crafted lore, I'm sure TotK will too! I can't wait for this airtight new story!

Except 🤨

Who are the Zonai actually? Why did they come to Hyrule and from where? Why do we only meet two of them? If Rauru and Sonia are the first of the Royal Family, is she part of the goddess' bloodline (a direct descendant of SS Zelda)? Did she die childless? If they had a child, was it distinctly half Zonai? SO MANY GANONDORF QUESTIONS I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START??!?! What's the deal with the secret stones anyway? Who made them? Why do they cause draconification? Is that what happened to Dinraal, Farosh, and Naydra? The Sheikah Shrines were trials left behind by devoted monks who underwent self mummification to train the Hero, but what's the deal with the Zonai ones again? And if they're supposed to be for Link too, when did Rauru have time to build them? And like the Depths?! Make zero sense??!

I could go on and on. As much fun as this game is and as cinematic as a lot of it was, the whole thing is riddled with holes and would've been SO MUCH BETTER if they just made it its own pocket universe like they did with Termina. Trying to have it make sense in the world BotW already established is impossible, and honestly just sort of like. Disrespectfully shoves BotW's dead body off a cliff and hopes no one finds the remains.

So, yeah! Great game! Beefy cutscenes! Fantastic ending! Awesome mechanics! But really really disappointing BotW erasure.

(I also feel like it suffered from trying to follow the same open world formula? Lots of people found the Tears in the wrong order and felt like they spoiled the story for themselves. And the way you were going around doing "search for Zelda" sidequests when you knew where she was but couldn't tell anyone seemed like an oversight. And I wouldn't have minded some more traditional dungeons, like what the Fire and Lightning temples had going on, but just, like. More.)

Okay so this might be a little bit Out of Character, and very much “He would not fucking say that” but could you imagine if Kaveh was the kind of guy to just go “Huh. Wild.” at like the oddest shit. Like his standards for what is “normal” is so fucking skewed mostly because it’s Alhaitham’s fault but also this guy has a float suitcase from ancient tech. He’s broke. He has no more sanity left.

So just imagine, that Alhaitham comes back from a trip from the desert haunted and looks directly at Kaveh and says “I think I might be the reincarnation of King Deshret.”

And Kaveh, who at this point, has been dealing with Alhaitham’s bullshit for too long now, just goes “Huh. Wild. What does that have to do with me though?” and just returns to his sketching or whatever.

And so whilst his roommate has his whole “Am I a God Reborn or am I Overthinking This?” crisis with like the Sumeru Revolution team or something Kaveh’s over there, sitting on the couch, watching all of this and saying “Well at least he’s socialising”

The Fierce Deity, being the blacksmith of the Gods, forged not only his great sword, Demise's Broadsword and the Goddess Sword, he also forged the Great Fairy Sword, Lokomo Sword, Koholint Sword, Magical Sword and he taught the Picori and Zauz how to forge magic imbued weapons. The Sword of the Six Sages was an attempt to replicate The Fierce Deity's work.

Genshin event where we go to an alternate universe where King Deshret and the Goddess of Flowers are still alive, though Rukkhadevatta died at the Cataclysm.

The setting is a few decades after the Cataclysm, with the gods being confused as to why Kusanali has been so hostile towards their people.

Traveler and Paimon: Ah shit here we go again

Traveler: So Kusanali is basically a kid at this point and the sages decided to lock her up because they think she is useless...

Deshret and Godess of Flowers: WHAT.

Next thing you know there is an entire nation and its gods ready to beat up the sages and rescue Nahida, the Traveler is just happy that they can fight the ones who caused the situation in the first place instead of just Azar.

#it's basically the 3.2 heist again #just a little less 4D chess with Alhaitham #and more invading the capital with the eremites #listen deshret and the goddess of flowers are still mourning their friend #as well as realising how rukkhas's followers were probably planning something like this for a while #one doesn't just turn the sanctuary of surasthana into a cage for a god with a button #the sages knew what they were doing. probably even planned it before the cataclysm #genshin impact #nahida is then adopted #deshret and the goddess of flowers tell her stories of rukkhadevata
