since you answered about good 4*s to raise, what about 5*s? mainly for is2 but im also wondering about which 5* can still be strong in general content too

There's a LOT more of these than I can properly mention, so I'll be going with some favorites

La Pluma - Currently the only Reaper Guard in EN (Highmore coming soon) and one of the most unique units in the game. Her attack range differs from most melee: rather than just attack the tile directly in front of her, she swipes her scythe in an arc, giving her a much wider range. She also gains bonus ASPD the more enemies are inside her range, making her a premiere trashsweeper, while spinach-type collectibles have great synergy with her powerful S1. Her only drawback is that she can't be healed and that she can't deal with elites on her own, but her sweeping attack lets you position her out of the way while still attacking enemies. A very powerful operator for both normal gameplay and IS.

Lappland - Lord Guards are busted in IS because versatility is king and Lords reign supreme with their powerful skills and ranged attacks while being melee units, but Lappland in particular has the ability to cast silence on attacks, which prevent spiders from exploding. Extremely useful for hard countering specific stages in IS, and in normal. Well.

People will tell you Lappland fell off. That she's situational. That you don't need her anymore. I will tell you that we just had 2 events in a row where Lappland's silence hard countered the game mechanics, and a 3rd one (Dossoles Holiday) coming up. You don't need her every time, but by god when you do need her you WILL be glad to have her. I cannot stress this enough, don't listen to the guides telling you she's not good. I am grabbing your shoulders and staring at you directly in the eyes to make sure you understand. Raise. Lappland. You are not going to regret this.

Elysium - Busted for the same reason Myrtle is, though weaker in IS because he costs 3 hope vs Myrtle's 2 and you only need one flagbearer. In regular stages, Myrtle + Bagpipe + Elysium can have you at 50+ DP in the blink of an eye, and if you're looking into their support abilities, Elysium trades out Myrtle's heal for lowering the DP cost of Sniper units and increasing their ASPD whenever he casts a skill. Busted fucking operator.

Specter - There are two versions of Specter. The original 5 star Centurion Guard, and the 6 star Dollkeeper Specter the Unchained. They're both incredible units for the same reason: they won't die. Centurion Specter's S2 comes with a large ATK boost and locks her minimum HP at 1, meaning that as long as it's activated, she cannot be killed by damage, only by moves that forcibly remove units from the field, at the cost of stunning herself when the skill ends. At E2, her talent upgrades to include natural HP regeneration based on her max HP. Combined with a few HP regen collectibles, she can outregen poison maps in IS while being a Block 3 (at E2) unit with a ton of damage and an emergency immortality button. A powerful force on her own, and the funny thing is she can get even stronger by running Abyssal Hunter team comps (as all the other members of her faction buff each other via talents)

Meteorite - Artilleryman Sniper Meteorite has my favorite talent+skill combination for IS: A crit talent with a crit skill. If the crit talent procs at the same time her skill activates, you can stack both crit buffs to get funny damage numbers. Now, if you have any spinach type collectible that increases ATK for 1 second after skill activation, you can get very funny damage numbers. Her module upgrades improves her crit chance from 30% to 50%, which lets her really go over the top when buffed by IS collectibles.

Bibeak - A control-oriented Swordmaster Guard. Stuns are quite good for crowd control, and Bibeak's Skill 2 rains down stunning swords on her position, letting her stall dangerous enemies by locking them down.

In normal gameplay, she's overshadowed by DPS Swordmasters who simply nuke the enemy instead. She's only really used on difficult content where blowing the enemy up immediately isn't an option (such as during Contingency Contract).

In IS however... Certain Collectibles can give Guard operators + SP on attack, and others can give +SP per second to skills with offensive recovery. Stack enough of these and Bibeak can get much, much stronger than Hypergryph intended, breaking stages by going full Unlimited Bibeak Works

So, we have a premiere date (9/30) and the members of our Camarilla coterie--

Coco, Lasombra: Honestly would’ve been surprised if there weren’t a Lasombra in the lineup.  Having seen Cynthia Marie play very different characters in LA by Night and the Sabbat one-shot, I know she’s got hella range, so I’m excited to see what she’s bringing to this character.

Khalida, Ventrue: A “Ventrue con artist”; sounds to me like a rather unusual Blue Blood, but in a very different way than Fuego was.  Count me intrigued.

Kiem, Toreador: Honestly the character I have the least read on right now--but given that the S1 character I had the least read on going in (Rey) turned out to be one of the most compelling, I’m definitely not counting her out.

Brawn, Nosferatu: A “Nosferatu boxer” with a hilariously on-point name, suggesting that he’s forgoing the “sneaky information broker” stereotype in favor of something more punchy--Nosferatu do get Potence, after all.

So yeah, overall, definitely hype for our new coterie, and super excited to see them inevitably collide with the S1 coterie in the upcoming season(s)

I finally started watching The Boys.

It’s been on my “to watch” list for years but I was just standing on the precipice wondering…is it actual satire? Is is intelligent? Or is it try-hard-edgy-bois using a flimsy excuse to create the thing it’s satirizing? It’s peoples’ responses to it and some of the marketing that had me wondering.

But my sister and my son started watching it and told me I’d love it so I did.

And it’s really really good.

I got through S1 in a matter of days. I just finished the season premiere of S2. Here are my spoiler ridden thoughts:

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS

Wow it is addictive and bingeable and the characters are all flawed and infuriating in such REAL and HUMAN ways that you are like psychoanalyzing them and super super into all of their lives and dramas. It’s good ass food and compelling storytelling.

The themes of private companies involved in national defense and criminal justice are appropriately fucking dystopian.

Yes. Ok. There are many disturbing bits. I almost didn’t keep watching because of what happened to Annie. I just don’t trust people to write that shit well. But it has surprised me that it has. It has focused it all on her growth and what that means for her. It’s not reveling in her pain or sensationalizing it. But she’s very human and it focuses on her growth in a way that feels authentic. I was raised by fundamentalist baptist (a much more hardcore version of how she was raised) so I feel it every time she is disillusioned. It’s so real.

And as for the gore and violence it is just campy enough to be fine (you can’t take it too seriously when Butcher is using an infant to shoot at people 😂)

And as for the anti-supe crew (I am sure the fandom has a name for them):

Was there ever a more precious crew of violent murderers and criminals?

Frenchy is just unbelievable and sweet. They get busted and gassed and there are armed men pouring in to fuck them up and he runs to the door where the immortal supe is setting up camp (Kimiko is like, you’ll get the bathroom back when I’m done looking adorable and she was so right for that) and puts a towel under the door so the gas doesn’t get to her. Just stuff like that. Unbelievable. Perfect. No notes.

MM, (i can’t call him mothers milk after seeing Homelander chug the breast milk) is SO FUCKING GORGEOUS AND HUGGABLE and loves his family and helps struggling kids as his job. He is firm but kind with Hughie. I’m obsessed. I just stare at him with my little heart eyes.

And speaking of Hughie

Oh god I usually could not give a shit less about the romances but Hughie and Annie are so precious. It’s because it was not initially based on romance or attraction at all. Hughie was grieving but he was attracted to how honest and vulnerable and good she was. He palpably admires her and respects her as a human being and it’s so touching. And when she got her moment to rescue him and the sparks were going from the ceiling a la Castiel in Lazarus Rising I was like Ahhhhh Bahahhahaha 😍😍 I’m rooting hard for those kids.

Ok shorter thoughts

I love the kind of bastard Butcher is. The kind of character that has an understandable obsession but who loses himself in it to the detriment of others.

I love how many compelling, hardcore, older women there are in it. One role I notice people have a hard time envisioning women in, is the older, flinty, world weary advisor, so I loved Mallory.

I’m sad the MILFs are dropping like flies (Jennifer Esposito I am free on Wednesday but also Thursday and Friday and really any day just call me pls) but it is what it is.

Holy shit the guy the plays Homelander is so good and creepy and terrifying and he makes my skin crawl.

Maeve baby leave him. You are tired I get that but pls go to your girlfriend. I want to hug this woman so badly.

I hope Kimiko gets a bigger role soon. Her character has so much potential and deserves to take up more of the narrative.

There are some few things to be noted when 4 minutes Sneak Peek of S2E1 of Star Trek: Prodigy was released on Star Trek's Official Website and on the Las Vegas Star Trek Convention event!!

We see Star Trek: Voyager's Doctor (Robert Picardo) EMH appeared to escort our Protostar Crew (minus Gwyn, in case if you watched the whole S1)!!

We get a Glimpse of USS Voyager-A, which is classified as Lamarr-Class Starship!! And notably, Lamarr stands for Hollywood Actress and Inventor Hedy Lamarr (1914 - 2000)

Vice Admiral Janeway will be captaining the Voyager-A where our Protostar Crew will get a big mission to save Chakotay, who's been stuck at Gwyn's Home Planet, Solum, 52 years from the current events, because of Time Anomaly, or should I say, the Time Distortion, created after the Destruction of USS Protostar in S1 Finale!!

Some theories I have made for upcoming S2, which might be true or not, depending of the nature of S2, call them as my initial predictions, maybe, if suppose Star Trek: Prodigy picked up by Any Streaming Platform to host the Series' Entirety and premiere the Second Season!!

We get to see more and more legacy Star Trek Characters from the time being!!

As Dal stated in the 4 minutes clip, that Gwyn has become the Queen of Solum, so there should be a plot twist, maybe in the future, when Dal and His Friends arrive at future Solum to save Chakotay and the situation of Future Gwyn, like interesting to see like 70-years-old version of her??

As Hageman Brothers and Aaron Waltke hinted everything about the emotional moment of Janeway meeting Chakotay, as the J/C Shippers are eagerly waiting to see them together for ever since Star Trek: Voyager ended, I think some development we can see!! But will we see them together, whether it will be a romantic one or emotional one, when they meet up?? Only Time will tell!!

I think, in future, we may get to see a big plot twist!! I think, Gwyn will be nearly stopped from unifying Solum, because if you watched S1 of ST: Prodigy, you know, that Asencia aka the Vindicator, is still roaming free!! Is there any lead up for S2 we will might see??

There are so many things and all are perfect reasons, why we are Desperate to Save this Series!!

And as of I'm writing this, Co-EP Aaron Waltke is just posting Holo-Janeway/Vice Admiral Janeway related GIFs for last 3 Days starting from Sept. 1st. Is he hinting something related to Star Trek: Prodigy's Current Development Condition, as we all know, Star Trek Day 2023 (on Friday, Sept. 8th), is right around the Corners!! Is there any development or Good News to Come Around?? Expect a Big Thing on this Friday, if things do go on Prodigy's Favor!! Let's Cross Our Fingers Now, that on Friday, we can get a big Announcement!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

For All Mankind c'est celle qui a les jolis vaisseaux - le plot c'est vas-y imagine les russes arrivent sur la lune les premiers en 69 et la conquête spatiale devient LE truc de la guerre froide. Les deux premières saisons sont vraiment cool, la s3 est moins fun MAIS la navette de la nasa dans la s3 a des voiles solaires elle est si belle je l'aime

The Silent Sea y a pas vraiment de vaisseaux cool parce que le plot c'est imagine la lune est hantée, mais leur arrivée dans la station de recherche abandonnée sur la lune compte comme voir un joli vaisseau spatial être joli dans l'espace. pour moi. C'est aussi une bonne série je recommande

Fondation je sais pas si elle est déjà sortie de la file d'attente à ce stade mais merci à la personne, je sais plus qui, qui ma rappelé que tout le monde regarde cette série pour lee pace à poil, parce qu'elle était pas très bien la s1 mais par contre les jumpships sont super cool. Après vu qu'apparemment y a aucun gifset de la station invictus ma vie mon amour, obligée de vous conseiller de regarder quand même les quelques derniers épisodes (7 à 9 ? Je crois ?) pour la vue de la station perdue dans son champ d'astéroïdes et pour le système de navigation qui se connecte directement aux cervicales. Si c'est le genre de trucs qui vous fait kiffer.

Le reste de ce que vous voyez c'est juste Destiny. Sans l'abonnement PlayStation c'était vite chiant Destiny mais qu'est-ce que c'était beau, et on pouvait aller sur Vénus (!!!)

DAE notice Bones has an even stronger Arthurian ensemble-parallel than the subtext-parallel people thought was happening on The Librarians or whatever “The Fisher King” made Criminal Minds try and force. And it’s not just a case of character arcs kinda vaguely matching or whatever’s the usual basis for fusion!AUs but stuff like the whole “king of the lab” competition (with the “rightful king” going up against the guy who ended up betraying the group) or “Lancelot” Sweets (who apparently did have a thing for Angela at one point) or Booth getting called Sir Galahad twice in the show (I wouldn’t take it as part of the pattern if it was just that one instance and “knighting” in The Yanks In The UK but there’s one episode where he’s iirc literally called that by Caroline, that one season premiere where Booth and Brennan are coming back from time spent apart from both each other and the lab as he was training soldiers in Afghanistan while she was on some jungle expedition).

Since there is also canonical magic in that universe now I’m just wanting some AU where some magical thing like Brennan finding some artifact connected to all that or some inadvertent intervention by the psychic character fittingly (albeit not meaning she’s part of this as she has a name of a place from that) named Avalon (perhaps someone had other reason to want some kind of past-life regression or w/e) starts waking some of the team back up to who they were in Camelot before being reborn (others might need a little push, y’know, think OUAT S1) and some (like a skeptical-until-then-but-still-trying-to-Scully-things-even-after Brennan) even gain the magical abilities their past lives/selves had. And once everyone who had a past incarnation in Camelot fully Operation-Cobras up to it then “the king of the lab and the knights of the forensic table” start fighting some supernatural crime too a la The Librarians as you’re much more likely to be able to hide that you’re after the magic angle if you fight regular crime by profession anyway and can say you’re there for what it looks like to normal eyes.

I saw you mentioning that Matt and Josh are best friends, but I don't think they're as close as they used to be (they don't interact as much as they used to and they don't seem to be so supportive of each other as they used to; I think they're on good terms since Matt talked happily about the ejxricky battle with light swords and also put in his story andrew's tiktok with josh). From what I understand Josh went to Disneyland (I know there's one close to LA and one in Florida) and we know he was on a cruise (he may still be and just made a stop at Disneyland, in this case it can be from another continent also). But if he's not on the cruise anymore and he went to the one close to LA it doesn't look good to me... He really could've come.

It really makes me sad to see the actors not being as close... One thing that made me like this show so much was how close the cast was in s1. I know then the whole drama thing happened. But , now, it only seems to get worse. Matt and Josh aren't as close (I really hope there isn't a pb), Josh doesn't seem to be as close to the rest of the cast as he used to, Sofia unfollowed Matt on tiktok and she also didn't come to the premiere and she was in LA (here it seems to be a pb)...

I also saw that Sofia follows a few people on tiktok (do you know which of the cast she still follows there?).

Anon social media is not their entire life. We can’t assume anything according to who they follow or what they post or where they are. Josh and Sofia might be having their last moments of vacation because after hsmtmts press Sofia is gonna be on a marathon of SGE with its premieres in different countires and its press. Josh will be travelling the US and Europe for his tour like let’s give them a break.

as someone who loves and appreciates mexican culture and food (& the people) it took me a while to think of things i'd like to see for some reason efiueuvieb

i feel like they'd definitely have a runway theme that has to do with dia de los muertos and/or catholicism . a night of a 1,000 selena's is a must. i'd love to see a runway theme dedicated to mexican urban legends: la llorona ofc, duendes, el cucuy, chupacabra etc.. that'd be spooky and cool imo. i wouldn't be surprised if i saw juan gabriel or frida kahlo ref's in challenges or runways.

dr is a huge platform/stage and i always love when queens make any political statements on the runway (but also when they talk about it when they're in the werkroom etc)

i absolutely wouldn't be surprised if the acting challenges were basically novellas

So. Funny story. I decided not to watch s13 when it premiered in the US because i watched the tail end of s12 on tv here when it aired and i enjoyed it So much more than i do after going through the ordeal of finding a dl and not being able to find time to watch it in one go and all. Like, it kills the experience for me. And i wanted to enjoy it.

So i thought, it’s fine! it’ll air here in a month or so! 

Except i forgot that the network that aired new orleans got shut down and the one that owned la scooped the rights, and instead of airing la they aired nola first! Because airing them both was too much for them, apparently. 

so basically i watched the premiere tonight when it aired and i enjoyed it a lot even if Callen’s sudden Hetty problems are actually even funnier than Nell’s sudden hetty problems because it makes him look uh... somewhat slow. I had also missed how funny all these idiots are. G confronting Killbride and getting yelled at was also comical but not in a ‘this is a funny scene’ way, but a ‘this is SO on brand for G when he gets all dog with a bone about something’ and oh dude. Kilbride has you on a shorter leash lol. Sam is ‘not Again’ and can u blame the guy?. 

Joelle and Callen once again bringing out the worst in each other. It can actually be annoying sometimes, because it Kind of grinds that sometimes it paints G to be a bit hypocritical in a way that makes me thing the writing is not self aware as opposed to them saying something about G’s cognitive dissonance, but it was On Point this ep between the two. Just Nasty as hell. They’d trample each other for their own benefit. Is it pleasant? No. Interesting to watch? Yep! 

but also side note i’d not ask Hetty for a reference in anything that isn’t shady as fuck. I am objectively aware they were trying to make a connect between Hetty’s history with the foster system and how she’d Not be a good person to ask in case of adoption because of what she’s done in the past, but it was suffering from show typical clunkiness of plot formation. But if this bothered me, lbr, id’ not still be watching it. 

Also... Watching this in may of 2022 aware of world events, i think, made this a bit of a different experience. 

It was very funny to see them react to somebody telling them that just... no mass slaughter guys! i forbid it! and them being pissy about it. Kilbride Was a dick in that scene to the point even Sam sassed the hell out of him and it was great. Not sure proving they actually Didn’t have to just kill all those people the past 12 years is necessarily the Best tactical decision here but it’s where we’re at apparently. 

the biggest shock of the ep was Sam’s car being a casualty. I normally judge if sam and g will be shot at on whether they inexplicably end up in some other car, because it’s actually a super accurate rule of thumb for this show, but they shot the wild cat!!! Fatima drove it through a wall!!! Sam being mad about that even After it had been shot out was hilarious like dude... i think the car was already done for. 

Anyway, it was fun. G has his biannual crusade to work on, Sam has that to work Around, Kensi and Deeks are working through it all and adapting to their situation, and the ritual ‘lets think of something that lets linda hunt be absent for long stretches’ plot is now in full force. Fatima and Roundtree being the excitable kids to the team’s casual experience is really funny. You were kind of like that in s1 guys! lollll 

but yeah i didn’t actually intend to let this blog die i just. was too wrung out to seek out the show online and expected to be able to watch it soon and it never aired. And also didn’t want spoilers. So i was kinda stuck there.

Henry il se barre parce qu’apparemment les scénaristes vont encore plus faire de la merde. Un ancien scénariste a même avoué que toute l’équipe d'écriture déteste les livres et les jeux... déjà que la saison 2 était catastrophique (j'étais indulgente avec la 1 c'est pour ça :') ) , là ça va être terrible en plus ils vont introduire la HANSE x_x

Et soyons honnête, les scénaristes font de la merde depuis le premier épisode de la première saison , où ils ont réussi a passer complètement a côté de la morale de la nouvelle 🤡

Ça se SENT qu'ils détestent les livres qu'ils sont censé adapter.(parce qu'ils étaient censé adapter les livres à la base, pas les jeux ) Tout sonne faux, les personnages sont méconnaissables, ils passent d'attachant à gros cons antipathiques ou de perdent toute leurs profondeur pour devenir lisse et creux, les relations entre eux sont complètement bousillées , l'histoire est au fraises complet et leurs ajouts au monde n'ont aucun putain de sens 😤😤😤😤

Pareil, j'ai été très indulgente avec la s1, c'est pas simple de passer d'un medium a un autre, il y a forcément de la casse mais avec du talent et de la passion tu peut couper/changer des choses au montage tout en gardant l'âme et le message de l'œuvre originale

Mais la s2 a bien prouvé qu'ils étaient en roues libres , balek de l'œuvre originale

Non, je suis on ne peut plus d'accord, les 2 premiers éps au moins étaient grave en dessous de la s1 en termes de vannes :( j'aime bien le contexte koh-lanta, mais on rigole pas beaucoup tbh, juste quelques pépites par-ci par-là (les enfants de saint jean de luz ptn), mais y'a beaucoup de trucs qui tombent à l'eau pour moi.......... après ça doit être un humour différent pcq ils ont changé certains auteurs, donc ça doit plaire à d'autres gens j'pense :<

par contre j'ai trouvé que l'épisode 3 était mieux, jsp si c'est pareil pour toi ? avec l'arrivée d'alexandra y'a eu + de trucs hilarants à mes yeux, enfin juste la façon dont leïla la joue me termine 💀 et aussi j'ai bien aimé le sous-texte des blagues sur la police via marina ! elles sont pas vraiment "drôles" mais quand même très acab et ça c'est sympa ♥ + le jeu de jérôme commandeur en denis brognart est incr, c'est grave dommage que ses répliques soient un peu plates, snirf
