It amuses me quite greatly that Owen just leads Elisa to the elevator and just sends her on her way. He is more thorough than that.

I can't help but wonder if the creators hadn't decided on Owen's back story yet or if this is some early mischief showing through. I know that it is done this way mostly for story. Because we have to get Elisa back in the castle by herself. But I don't like to leave it at just that. Not when it's so much more fun to contemplate.

I can't help but suspect that Owen kind of wants to see Elisa face the reality. She bulldozed her way in, waving aside excuses, prompting Xanatos into the little white lie that marked Owen as someone who gets 'confused', and openly remarked on an observation that for most would make her sound crazy. Perhaps he's curious what she would do when faced with the actual reality. I can imagine Owen might be one to look at humans face-to-face with gargoyles, fighting them, and remarking on how they're wearing masks, and be fascinated at the ways people will convince themselves that the world still works exactly as it always did while facing down something that breaks all the rules.

Perhaps if the little detective gets a taste of what is actually happening here, she will run away and never bother them again, unable to face something that challenges everything she knows about the world. He seems to say, 'are you really so sure you don't want to believe a generator exploded like the rest of New York will?'

If so, he's got another thing coming. Owen does enjoy being surprised by people after all. He should be happy at how this turns out! XD

ok so @peanut-with-wifi-access requested i liveblog lmk (coming from a ninjago fan) so here are my thoughts so far! im currently on s1 ep5 so heres a recap of my thoughts

starting off with ep 3 coming home! now if i had a nickel for every green coloured lego character biologically related to dragons... anyway i loved this episode, love mei! cant wait to see more of her and her heritage because that is reeeallly interesting

ok ep 4 noodles or death! so this is the bitch who robbed us of spider legged harumi!!! jokes but judging off the ending and the title of the second lmk special i know she'll be making a return and im really excited! she seems like a fun villain

ep 5 calabash! can i first start off by saying THANK YOU for not pushing mei and mk to be together i really appreciate how not every girl and guy need to be automatically shipped! also love how MK puked at the thought of it for a second i thought this was going in another direction and i wanted to cry (ninjago fans ifykyk) i really do see them as the siblings ever i love their dynamic sm

also these twins are so fun hope they make a reappearance! also what does the calabash do exactly? just trap people like is there a benefit???

anyway i was told it would get a lot darker so um definitely kinda scared! but so far im enjoying the silly adventures also cant wait to meet the macaque guy seems like a fan favourite

First screenshot: there’s a half-finished clay llama statue just sitting out on the table uncovered.  There’s also a pot on a pottery wheel on the table (I’ve never seen someone use a pottery wheel standing up--you want to be able to brace your elbows against your knees to get the clay smooth and centered), but the pot on the wheel doesn’t look like it was made on the wheel.

Second screenshot: there’s a kiln in the apartment and apparently it is being operated without the top on????  The kiln didn’t need to be there or be operated as part of the plot, this didn’t have to happen!

S1 E3: Career, promotions and lifetime wish complete

While Lily is obsessing over her new bling George is patiently waiting to get this legacy started.

Soon enough they are fast asleep. Lily will be back at work tomorrow, she is killing it with these promotions. George is going to quit his job as an acrobat to focus on his wish to be the author of many books. This will be his 3rd start to a career, wonder if it will stick?

Lily organised this study for him to get peace and quiet for his new career path while she earns the big bucks. But before she gets ready she runs to the loo.

George heads to the library to begin work on his first book.

Lily has completed her lifetime wish already! Our founder is absolutely killing it as a CEO. She heads to the gym after work.

Some interruptions at the gym, say Lily are you feeling ok?

This is a really good setup for some interesting things this show could have done, but I don't really think they ever really do. Elisa is a detective in this show to put her on this path and give her certain permissions throughout the show that would be more difficult otherwise. But I love Goliath's reactions here. Who decides what is wrong? Obviously no one like him gets to decide.

But the point I think the show is trying to make here I think is to contrast Goliath, who has made decisions without consulting anyone else and clearly against the desires of those he respected, with Elisa who has a sort of authority that is different than his but that he can relate to if he will allow himself.

As leader of his clan, there are no "laws," simply what he decides. He is cop, judge, and jury but of course on such a smaller scale. Each person he might choose to 'arrest' is someone close and dear to him. The level of his distrust here comes from his distrust of humans, but the point is that he and Elisa have a thread that connects them to make room for them to understand each other. He's just hell bent on being wary of humans right now.

It's kind of a shame though, because it is such a good moment of looking at the system which Elisa describes and asking not only who decides, but who gets left out of the decisions. The gargoyles throughout the series often work as a stand in for the minorities and disenfranchised, so it's a poignant thing to have one among them draw attention to and show skepticism for.

Amity's 1st appearance! I can't stress how much she's improved since then, my Titan!

Ok but I think it was love at first sight for Lumity, right? ;D I mean, come on! I bet this was going through Amity's mind: "Who's this girl? Is she from around bere? Why is she pretending to be an abomination?! SHE'S NOT AN ABOMINATION!!" I bet she wanted to study the enigma that is Luz ;D I mean she literally screamed, "I want answers"! I'm gonna go so far as to say Amity was actually impressed by Luz (The staring) -yk, it was as if Luz had become one with her abomination! This image tho is chaotic! XD The acrobatics needed to perform that (instead of just walking up to them -I approve besides who needs "normal" anyway, am I right? ;D)

The parallels and contrast between this and reaching out when she listens to Luz...wow! Character development at it's finest! 🤌👏

Also, can we just talk about how Luz jumps face first into anything to help her friends and helps Amity work on herself? 🤩👏*Chef's kiss*!
