sorry for not being active on this blog; most of my muse has been for my Darklighter OC.
I do still want to turn this blog into a Charmed (1998) multimuse (Chris as the primary muse; other muses as secondary muses) but a lot of stuff has gone down in my personal life.
family death TW
In short order:
my uncle died of a heart attack last month
he said he had a will, but we can't find it, so everything has to go through probate court
I had to get a restraining order against my dad; the judge granted it for being under domestic abuse, which was a major step up from what I'd filed it under
hearing for making the R.O. permanent is this Thursday
nothing has gone through probate yet, but my dad has put in a motion for him to be made PR; if he is granted control of the estate, he's immediately going to turn around and sell it + evict me from the house I've been living in for the past 2 1/2 - 3 years. We know that's what he's going to do, because he has his own deep financial debts and he's only thinking about how much money he's going to get out of this whole situation.

Since we're getting deeper into the holiday season:
Friendly reminder that Chris and all the other Halliwells are Wiccan. As such, they celebrate Yule on the winter solstice, not Christmas.
It's implied in season 1 that at least Piper was raised Christian, possibly Catholic, but as the series goes on and the Charmed Ones become more confident with their powers and lives as witches, they are very much practicing Wiccans.
The tie-in novels make this very clear, with the sisters invoking the Goddess in spells (Inherit the Witch), attending a Wiccan gathering (Something Wiccan This Way Comes), celebrating the Sabbats (The Warren Witches, Seasons of the Witch Vol 1, Trickery Treat), being very knowledgeable about the herbal side of the Craft, and both Paige and Phoebe's narration in Mystic Knoll noting that Wicca is an earth-based religion.

After talking with @magicveiled I've decided to turn this blog into a multimuse for my main Charmed muses.
Specifically:
Chris Halliwell (Canon)
Billie Jenkins (Canon)
Christy Jenkins (Canon)
Barbas (Canon)
Murdina/Murdoch (Kelpie OC)
Mostly to do something to get muse for Chris back, and this way I don't have to keep making new sideblogs. (Darklighter!Chris is staying on his sideblog. Damon, my Darklighter OC, is staying on his own main blog.)
Chris is going to be my primary muse, most likely, with the others being secondary or request-only.
So I'll be working on that next week/later this month.

This incoming post/analogy is probably only going to make sense to anyone who’s familiar with Doctor Who, but I just wanted to jot my thoughts down on how I view the Elders vs. normal Whitelighters.
Basically: The Elders are to Whitelighters as Time Lords are to Gallifreyans. All Time Lords are Gallifreyans (for the most part; there was an arc in the expanded universe where Lady President Romana wanted to open up the Time Lord Academy to non-Gallifreyans, and Seven’s companion Ace would have studied to become a Time Lady), but not all Gallifreyans are Time Lords. (z.B. The Doctor, Romana, The Master, Iris Wildthyme, the Meddling Monk, and the Rani are Time Lords. IM Foreman, Jenny from “The Doctor’s Daughter” and River Song are not—Jenny is Gallifreyan, and River is a human/TARDIS hybrid [it’s actually not the first time that’s happened: see Compassion from The Eighth Doctor Adventures novels and Lolita from Faction Paradox, who is a humanoid TARDIS]. IM Foreman was a Gallifreyan monk/priest who coincidentally decided to push the limits of how far regeneration could go back when it was still in the early stages, and their thirteenth incarnation was a sentient timeline that later quite literally inhabited a whole planet.)
The Council of Elders, like the Time Lords, are the elite and highest-ranking of Whitelighters. It is a title that can be earned (like we saw with Leo becoming an Elder in the season 5 finale) or granted to those that are already destined to become Elders (teenage witch Kevin, when the Elder Remus decided to retire—Kevin stopped being a witch and became a Whitelighter the instant Remus’s powers were transferred to him).
And again, like the Time Lords, the Elders have powers that normal Whitelighters don’t have, since they are given these powers upon earning their rank. For the Time Lords, that includes:
regeneration (it was also granted to priests in the early days),
the Rassilon Imprimatur (which maps the Time Lord onto the Time Vortex as a string of pure mathematics, allows them to pilot and bond with a TARDIS, and can even put them into different time states just by thinking about the right equations),
their time senses (the Doctor can see past, present, future, possible, alternate timelines if they concentrate—even timelines that no longer exist but did at one point).
For the Elders, powers they gain that normal Whitelighters do not have are the following:
electrokinesis
telekinesis
force field
telekinetic orbing
dream leaping
power granting/stripping
portal creation
TL; DR: The Elders are still Whitelighters, not another species or sub-species entirely. They have more powers than normal Whitelighters do to go along with that elite rank and status. We also see with Leo falling from grace that Elders (and normal Whitelighters) can become mortal again—if Gideon hadn’t been killed, he most likely would have been stripped of his Elder status, had his wings clipped, and possibly had his soul recycled.
The golden glow thing with Leo becoming an Elder in the season 5 finale was just symbolic and so that other good magical beings/Whitelighters Would Know What Was Up™. It didn’t indicate he was changing species, because he didn’t.

“You’re telling me,” Chris couldn’t resist snarking. “It’s not like they gave me a choice, what with me being born half-Whitelighter and my mom a Charmed One, and all.”
Tumblr media
“You know, for someone who claims to hate the Elders so much…you sure seem to answer at their beck and call a lot.”

So head's up to folks making new blogs right now.
Tumblr media
If your blog is fucking blank, with no icon, no header, no posts.
You are automatically blocked. I do not care if you're actually a rp'er. I don't. You might be a roleplayer, sure... But you're more than likely a BOT
CHANGE YOUR ICON & SET A HEADER AT THE VERY LEAST.
I AM SURE MULTIPLE RPERS FEEL THE SAME WAY.
edited to add: Roleplayers are free to reblog this.

I'm reading the Wikipedia article on Raymond Buckland, the guy who introduced Gardnerian Wicca to the USA, and
The Bucklands tried to keep their identities secret at first, due to concern about unwanted and negative attention, however journalist Lisa Hoffman of the New York Sunday News published a news story on them without permission. Buckland also appeared on the Alan Burke talk show, which is when his neighbors discovered that he practiced Wicca. Once 'outed', Buckland purchased and drove around in a hearse, where he was a familiar sight in the community. (emphasis mine)
This was so Extra™ of him.
I love it.
