Loves proves elusive for Figaro. He’s tasted it multiple times, letting it tease him as if it were a sweet seduction out of his reach, but at the same time, he pushes it away when the sweetness spreads too quickly and too deeply across his senses. He can’t stand being alone, yet he can’t stand being tied down either. He craves the intimacy of another person he can reveal his heart too, yet he pushes them out before he can even be honest with himself.

Figaro only hopes that the same won’t happen with you. Out of the many fearsome wizards and spectacular witches he met throughout his varied life, you don’t even come close to mimicking their power. Yet when your quiet voice rings out through the Sage’s manor or he finds you knocking at his door, he doesn’t have the willpower to send you away. The warm telltale pricks at his heart confirm his own excitement and the things he dreads most: he’s fallen in love.

His love for you is almost instinctual. For once in his life, Figaro wants to cast aside his own selfishness. He wants to chase you down for a minute of your time. Figaro doesn’t care if you want to hug him and press saccharine kisses onto his face or if you’d rather he grovel at your feet and wash your skin with his tears; all he knows is that he’s hooked on your presence. It takes all his might to not make the same mistakes he’s made before.

He knows he’s a far cry from the man you deserve. You deserve a gentleman, not a cowardly wizard who never seems to come to terms with his own fear of acceptance. But just as much as he wants to cast his own egocentrism aside, he wants to be greedy and devour whatever attention you throw at him. Whatever he does, Figaro knows he’s acting with only his intentions in mind, yet night after night, he finds his feet leading him outside your door—only to stop when he can’t find the courage to knock.

He can only pray for a miracle. Figaro doesn’t know what he even believes in any more after living such a long and damned life, but if there is, by slight chance, a higher power watching over him, he prays that one night you’ll open your door to find him there. Will you invite him inside and chase away the centuries’ worth of demons that have been clawing at his psyche? Or will you scrunch up your face in disgust, proving to him that he should put his delusions to rest? Whatever the answer might be, he’s sure that it’s better than the emptiness tugging away at his battered heart.

“Do you trust me? Of course you do—who wouldn’t trust good ol’ Doctor Figaro? Please, you can trust me.”

What are morals without emotions, and what are feelings without ideals? These same concepts have driven Lennox for the long years he had spent ravaging the world, in search of the hero of his past. There’s too many past mysteries and unanswered inquiries he has yet to find the closure to, but when you cross his path with a curious attitude and the softest soul, Lennox wonders if this his sign to live not in the past but to embrace the present.

A man of actions and not words, he wonders what the best way to approach you would be. The other Southern wizards are delighted: Lennox finally trying to reach out to someone else is the push they’ve eagerly been awaiting. The other wizards are quick to dress him up and give him pointers to talk to you, but he finds himself clamming up and reverting back to his old self when you come into view. Despite your presence as a human in a world of magic, Lennox swears you cast a spell on him: one that makes all rationality fly out the window.

He wants to be good and true, so at the end of the day, he hopes you can see him for who he is. You can see and feel hints of his past whenever you’re next to him. There are traces of the war on his hands, the yearning in his eyes whenever his crimson irises focus on you, the love welling up in his heart when he moves in—lips ghosting over your skin as he whispers something you don’t quite register into your ear—but they’re all bits and pieces that come together to create the masterpiece that you know as Lennox.

His love is homey and pure, one that hopes to touch your heart as much as you have touched his. He wants comfort and stability, so he wants to make it clear that whatever you need to do to feel safe with him is what he’ll do. It doesn’t matter if you want to lock him in with a promise—his heart wants you, and his magic is only secondary to the desire he has to scoop you up in his arms and whisk you away to the paradise of your dreams.

Lennox is someone who wants to be there with you to the end. He doesn’t love in a fickle manner. He loves truly, seriously, dedicatedly. You’ve managed to melt down his own trepidations and worries with your bright smile and open arms, and for that, he’s ready to lay himself down for you. He has faith that you won’t take that responsibility for granted, a testament to the fact that you’re someone worthy of his hard-earned love. Lennox promises—a wizard’s sacred and holy promise—to make you as happy as you’ve made him.

Rutile, just like the person he is, views life through the many facets presented before him. He’s a spitting image of the volatile summer wind; he’s calm and refreshing one minute, fierce and unstoppable the next. Rutile refuses to settle for the first thing that falls into place. He wants to discover all the wonders and curiosities around him, sharing the abundance of knowledge and affection he has with strangers and close ones alike. The more, the merrier, and Rutile has nothing to lose by being welcoming yet exhilarating all the same.

His affection towards you is pure and energetic. He’s composed enough to shower you with love possessing all the grace and charm a mature wizard of his age would, but it still doesn’t stop him from occasionally pulling you into a dance or inviting you out onto a broom ride when the opportunity strikes. These chances are too good for him to pass up, and he wants to share that unabashed zest for life he has with you. He wants you to see the goodness and the wonder of the world as he does, because he believes that that is the best gift he can give to you.

His love for you is priceless. There isn’t anything Rutile could ever withhold from you. Everything, from the peals of laugher after you crack a joke to his raspy voice when he wakes up in the morning, are for you to take and indulge in. He asks that you let him do the same, to let him appreciate and savor every lovable bone in your body. His love is passionate as it is adorable, and when you’re the object of his affections, there’s no telling what detail of yours he’ll gush over next.

All the thrills of love aside though, Rutile does genuinely adore you in every way possible. Whatever form of love you want from him is what he’s willing to give to you. He can wow you with his stellar magic and take you to far off lands for a private moment, or he can conjure up all sorts of silly drawings and build a pillow fort to dedicate a night in with you. Whether you want something personal or the kind of love only seen in fairytales, Rutile is happy to deliver as long as it keeps you safe, happy, and satisfied.

Fate is fickle and jealous, and Rutile knows his life has been stricken with tragedy over and over again. But it’s thanks to that that he learned so firmly how to cherish the precious moments, so he really appreciates the time you spend with him. He’ll make every moment you spend with him worth your while, so you have absolutely nothing to fear by accepting his invitation and taking his hand. Love is as serious as it is exciting, and he wants to learn about the same kind of heart-pounding feelings his mother must have felt when meeting his father through you. You won’t ever disappoint him, so hold on tight and be ready for whatever Rutile might come crashing in with.

keep in mind that typical offerings to any god includes meat, wine, grain (specifically barley), honey, and incense (myrrh and frankincense would be period appropriate), but i'm listing some specific offerings that can be given if you'd like

HADES

Colors: black, red, and white for association with death. purple and metallics for association with riches/wealth

Offerings: mint, asphodel, white poplar, pomegranate, coffee, cinnamon, elm, money, chocolate

Crystals: gemstones, black crystals (obsidian, black tourmaline, smokey quartz, etc.), pyrite, hematite, labradorite

CARD STORIES - UNCHANGING WARMTH AND RADIANCE

[ EPISODE ONE ]

{ Mountains }

LENNOX: Phew…Mission complete. Is anyone hurt?

RUTILE: I’m all good! How about you, Mitile?

MITILE: I’m fine…! This mission was tougher than I was expecting, so it caught me a little off guard…

FIGARO: Even if you take all the right precautions, it’s difficult to account for your opponent being an ancient creature brought back to life by the effects of the calamity.

AKIRA: When I heard that patches of land had suddenly started drying up, I would never have guessed that it was because the water in the ground and plants was being sucked up by ancient creatures.

AKIRA: But I’m really glad we found the root cause. It looks like we got rid of all the monsters. Things’ll go back to normal now, right?

LENNOX: Yes. We’ve confirmed that water is already returning to the channels, too.

FIGARO: Then I’m gonna go tell the locals that the problem’s been dealt with so they can stop worrying about it. You guys go on ahead and get ready to head home.

RUTILE: Okie dokie. Make sure you don’t forget anything, Mitile.

MITILE: Yup!

AKIRA: Don’t forget anything…Ah, right, I left my working gloves hanging on that tree over there. I’ll go get them right now!

LENNOX: Will you be alright? If you want, I can come with you…

AKIRA: Thank you, Lennox. It’s right over there, so I’ll be okay. I’ll just quickly grab them!

AKIRA: …Got it! Good…I’ll have to hurry back to everyone now.

AKIRA: Wah…!!

At that moment, something jumped out from the grass, opening its starfish-like mouth in my direction.

It looked like a small dragon, but it was more sinister than that.

The creature reared up on its hind legs, akin to those of a spider, and made to spring at me.

AKIRA: (One of those ancient creatures survived…?! Oh no, it’s going to bite me…!)

LENNOX: « Forsethao Meiuva » !

LENNOX: Are you hurt, Master Sage?

AKIRA: Lennox…! Thank you so much, you saved me…

These ancient creatures are said to suck up the moisture from humans, too.

If it had managed to jump at me like that, I would’ve dried up faster than I could blink.

AKIRA: (I can’t believe there was one left…I wonder what would’ve happened if Lennox hadn’t shown up…)

{ Evening Sky }

After that, we searched thoroughly to make sure we hadn’t missed any more of the ancient creatures, and then headed back home.

WIth me on the back of his broom, Lennox continued to fly steadily towards the Southern Tower.

FIGARO: We were able to complete today’s mission without having to rely on the power of the other nations’ wizards. Though the battles made things difficult, we made good progress.

LENNOX: Rutile and Mitile are progressing, too.

AKIRA: Yes. You were both very reliable!

RUTILE: You really think so? Isn’t that nice, Mitile.

MITILE: Yeah…! I’m glad! But it was only because you were all there to help, Nii-sama.

LENNOX: Nonetheless, you had a bit of a fright right at the end there, didn’t you, Master Sage.

FIGARO: Right, I hear you were almost attacked by a lingerer. Are you doing alright?

AKIRA: I’m fine! Lennox saved me, and I’ve encountered much scarier monsters on previous missions.

LENNOX: …

[ EPISODE TWO ]

{ Akira’s Room }

AKIRA: Phew…We managed to sort it out thanks to everyone’s hard work, but there were a lot of surprises this time…

AKIRA: It’ll take more practice to be able to employ the self-defense techniques Lennox taught me when I’m attacked out of the blue…

AKIRA: Okay! I don’t want anyone getting put in danger because of me, so for now, I’ll do what I can!

{ Manor Hallway }

LENNOX: (When the Master Sage was on the back of my broom on the way home…Their hands were trembling a bit against my back.)

LENNOX: (They were putting on a brave face, but it’s only natural for them to be distressed in that kind of situation.)

LENNOX: (The Master Sage’s days are hectic. Missions often progress too quickly for them to have time to properly process their feelings of horror and grief.)

LENNOX: (...I’m worried. If there’s anything I can do, I want to help…)

LENNOX: …Hm…? Something’s coming from the Master Sage’s room…

AKIRA: If I bring my leg up like this, then…there! Hmm, no, that’s not it…was it like this?

LENNOX: Master Sage, it’s Lennox. Is now a good time?

AKIRA: Ah, yeah, come in!

{ Akira’s Room }

AKIRA: Sorry, was I being too loud?

LENNOX: No, nothing like that. Were you training?

AKIRA: It wasn’t really anything proper, but I was doing image training to prepare myself better for situations like today.

AKIRA: Just like you and the others, if I don’t build habits, my body won’t get used to things, and I won’t be able to put what I’ve been taught into practice.

LENNOX: Your diligence is admirable, but…Aren’t you pushing yourself a bit far?

AKIRA: Huh?

LENNOX: After today’s mission…Your hands were shaking slightly against my back.

AKIRA: Were they really? I hadn’t even noticed…

AKIRA: (I didn’t want to worry everyone; I thought I was holding it together alright, but…)

AKIRA: (It did scare me pretty bad when I was attacked…)

AKIRA: I’m sorry, all I did was make you worry.

AKIRA: It’s just that Mitile and Riquet are facing hair-raising missions so bravely, so I can’t just cower in fear forever.

LENNOX: You’re not ‘just cowering in fear’.

LENNOX: Master Sage. You’ve come here from another world. There are more things in this world that are unknown to you than to any of us; of course you’d be just as afraid.

LENNOX: And yet, you spend everyday trying to learn about this world. You are already doing more than enough.

LENNOX: Even for those of us who have lived here for hundreds or thousands of years, there are still things we can’t or refuse to come to terms with.

LENNOX: So please, don’t force yourself. If at any time you’re anxious or afraid, I want you to call out to me without worrying about being a bother.

[ EPISODE THREE ]

As I listened to Lennox speak, looking quietly into his clear eyes, a faint sigh escaped my lips.

AKIRA: …Huh. The last of my strength slipped away while I was listening to you speak…

AKIRA: Maybe I was unconsciously holding back because I didn’t want to drag everyone down with me.

LENNOX: If I could help you even a little, I’d be happy.

AKIRA: Then, the next time I’m feeling scared, can I covertly confide in you…?

LENNOX: Of course you can. You brought up Mitile and Riquet earlier, but you’re still the same as a child to me, too.

LENNOX: I don’t mean to hold my long lifespan over you, but there’s such a thing as wisdom wrought by age, so please don’t feel the need to hide.

Lennox smiled and gently clasped my hands.

LENNOX: …You’re not shaking anymore.

AKIRA: Ah…

The warmth of his hands took me back to the events of that day.

Back to what he told me when I spoke to him while writing things down for the Sage’s Journal.

AKIRA: (The night Lennox made his promise to me, he was kind and earnest in this same way…)

I took Lennox’s hands in my own and looked him in the eye.

Then said, with all the candour I could muster:

AKIRA: Lennox. I’m still a coward, but I haven’t been arbitrarily scared or suspicious of any of you since then.

AKIRA: And besides, some people find the scary parts appealing.

For a moment, Lennox’s gaze flickered, before he smiled fondly.

LENNOX: That’s good, then.

LENNOX: Sorry for overstaying my welcome when you’re tired from the mission. I’ll take my leave.

AKIRA: Um, Lennox.

LENNOX: What’s the matter?

Lennox looked me in the eye.

Feeling like I could see the stars within–all of the stars from the sky of that night–I continued.

AKIRA: If it’s not too much trouble, would you walk with me again, like that day?

AKIRA: I’d like to spend a little more time talking, so that I can fall asleep easier.

Lennox searched my gaze for a moment, then smiled kindly.

LENNOX: …Good idea. I want to see the stars with you, too.

We leave the room.

What kind of sky is there outside?

Even if it’s a cloudy one, the stars of that night will continue to shine within us.

[ SUB-EPISODE: LENNOX AND THE DOOR TO THE PAST ]

AKIRA: I’ve heard that a door that allows you to look into the past has appeared on the beach of Borda Island.

AKIRA: Speaking of the past, when I’d just arrived in this world and was still really anxious about it, there was a certain memory I’d think of to put myself at ease.

LENNOX: What kind of memory was it?

AKIRA: Of being a child and having a book read to me by an adult I trusted.

LENNOX: Hm…I think I get what you mean, in a way.

AKIRA: What do you do to comfort yourself when you’re feeling lonely, Lennox?

LENNOX: …Right…

LENNOX: Hope, I guess.

AKIRA: Hope…

LENNOX: Yeah.

LENNOX: So long as you have hope, you can keep yourself moving forward without hesitation, no matter how lonely or helpless you might feel at the time.

LENNOX: Even when facing the death of friends or a father, if there are people like Faust and Alec, there is hope.

LENNOX: That’s what I believed.

LENNOX: Even when I didn’t know where Sir Faust was…

LENNOX: I believed in hope, and that, someday, we would undoubtedly meet again.

LENNOX: Maybe that’s just naivety. But I think it’s a good thing.

LENNOX: It’s much more like me than being some man of wisdom who gets so caught up in thinking about things that they can’t take a single step forward.

AKIRA: I think I get what you mean…But I don’t think you’re naive, Lennox.

AKIRA: You always act quickly and stand by my side, so I think you’re reliable.

AKIRA: Your unwavering actions speak louder than words.

LENNOX: My body’s in good condition, so. Even if I appear to someone as being at a disadvantage of exhaustion…

LENNOX: If I believe in hope and keep my hands and feet moving, I can keep my spirit strong.

AKIRA: Do you still feel that way?

LENNOX: I do. I still believe in hope.

LENNOX: If we work together, we can repel the « Great Calamity » and save the world.

AKIRA: It’s really reassuring to hear that from you!

LENNOX: I’m glad.

LENNOX: …But I have a feeling that once all this is over, it’ll all hit me at once.

AKIRA: …What will?

LENNOX: That that person’s happiness was my hope. But he has no intention of being happy.

LENNOX: …Unless I turn back time, I can’t change the fact that our compatriots are gone.

JUDAS PRIEST - Invincible Shield

Judas Priest, quintette anglais de heavy metal était mon premier concert de Hard, c’était en 1988 pour la tournée de l’album « Ram It Down », et ouaïe heavy metal thunder mec !

Ça ramone la trachée JUDAS PRIEST mais l’ouverture aux synthés du titre « Panic Attack » pour débuter m’a interpellé, je me suis demandé si le groupe revenait gratter la FM, époque album "Turbo", mais nooooooooon ça tourne sévère en puit sans fond dans les cathédrales sataniques de Mercyfull Fate.

Nous retrouvons tous les ingrédients qui ont forgé la renommée bestiale du cuir et des clous de Judas : Duel étincelant de guitare rythmique entre Richie Faulkner et Glenn, ça fait un feu d’enfer et je veux m’y chauffer dedans jusqu’à être cramoisie ! Des solos précieux et ça ne rigolent pas, quelle baffe monumentale, ça crépite comme un poste à souder de mille ferraille le bordel, une rythmique pachydermique, puis last but not list, Rob Halfort avec ce chant aigüeeeeee qui te serre les balls d’Accept à coup de tenaille.

Et cela fait 50 ans que Judas Priest fait crisser son aciérie à ciel ouvert, si K. K. Downing a ouvert sa manufacture de métallurgie, que Glenn Tipton n’a pas une santé de fer, le metal Gods bande dur, gorge profonde va chercher le cri du cristal dans les bas-fonds de Belzébuth…Oh mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go, Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me, for me, For meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…Dans la planète metol ce disque va faire des remous et remettre de l’ordre dans la hiérarchie, et des remises en question de la part des notables du genre, à n’en pas douter. Pendant que Ghost enfume avec son encensoir de guimauve, les preux chevaliers de la métallurgie portent depuis 50 ans allégeance à la cathédrale du PRIEST, l’unique, et son culte n’a pas fini de filer ses eucharisties à pleine bouche, mmmmmmmmmmh gourmand !

Au-delà de la longévité du groupe, il advenait nécessaire que la production d’Andy Sneap soit arrangée à s’inscrire dans la modernité, et elle le fait, mais aussi pour la postérité, réglant les moindres détails à cette ingénierie surpuissante, en permettant de pérenniser le culte d’un groupe les plus influents du metal.

Cet album est surpuissant, génial, démoniaque, atteint de cette grandeur, grandiloquence et magie de la guitare, d’une vélocité parfaite, mélodie en acier et vulnérable, car Judas Priest a saisi depuis fort longtemps que derrière le moteur à explosion des bikers de l’enfer, dessous le cuir et les clous sado-masochistes il y a des cicatrices, fêlures, entailles, ecchymoses, lésions, fractures, contusions, brûlures, traumatismes, morsures, irritations, heurts, coups, vexations, offenses, et que l’unique apaisement serait de tout transformer en création. Ainsi les paroles déroulent les luttes internes. Le chant de Rob te fout des secousses qui te parviennent jusque dans les vertèbres, et tu te retrouves sans voix avec l’allégorie d’un bâillon boule comme stupéfaction.

De collisions subtiles en carambolages si il y a férocités ce n’est pas de la violence, si il y a de la sauvagerie ce n’est pas de la brutalité, Judas est doré et collant avec son piquant, opalescent et nacré quand il le veut, il a cœur de démontrer son héritage et d’en faire rutiler le chrome. « Trial By Fire » possède une juteuse allitération godemichet à Anvil et « Escape From Brutality » attise une profondeur aérienne à la Black Sabbath transformant heavy en grunge de petits délices.

Je pourrais en parler pendant des siècles de ce disque. Ricochets de twin guitar, triade rythmique de percussion/commotions/émotions, « Invincible Shield » est un pamphlet du heavy metAl épique, dur au mal, avec sa part de heavy progressif sur la moto supersonique de Painkiller, célébrant l’âge d’or des guitares tranchantes, ce corps musical est cerné de prouesse sonore et de tout ce qui façonne, a façonné et façonnera ce style sonique.

Il n’y aura aucun incendie pour freiner son déluge d’acier, de lames ardentes, Judas Priest est ordonné pape de la messe satanique, et demeure le poème préféré du diable.

Amen la messe est dîtes, laissez parler le feu et l'acier !
