Spooky Month Fanchild: Hubris (Bob x Carmen)

Full Name: Harrison “Hubris” Velseb

Nickname: Hubris (Reference to Pride, one of the seven deadly sins, like how Bob’s name is a reference to gluttony.

Age: Around Skid and Pump’s age?(Still working on it)

Personality: Is a kind hearted and caring kid but his pride and rich upbringing makes him arrogant and ignorant towards others. Ex: When trying to impress others, he will brag about the rarity or great quality of an item he has, not realizing he’s accidently bragging and coming across as pretentious because not everyone is as rich as he is.

Hobbies: Baking, drawing, and reading, specifically books about bunnies

Likes: Baking, sweets, receiving gifts, Bunnicula (pet), telling fun facts about bunnies, and hanging out with Roy or his parents.

Dislikes: Cavities, vegetables, Roy not hanging out with him, his parents being busy with work, and doing Roy’s mischievous tasks.

Relationships:

Carmen (Mother): Spoils him. Taught him how he is superior compared to those “plebeians”. They have a “bestfriends” dynamic rather than a “parent and child” one. Is a bit of a mama’s boy. Enjoys receiving gifts from her.

Bob (Father): Is the parent he goes to for advice. They bond through cooking. Is a bit more critical of Hubris than of Roy because Hubris reminds him of his younger self. Totally that dad that embarrassed his kids (to Roy anyway). Hubris enjoyed doing fun activities with his dad.

Roy (Older Half Brother): Because he’s the younger sibling, he looks up to Roy and wants to impress him. But as you can imagine, because of his prideful personality and the fact he’s Bob's child, Roy finds him annoying and irritating. Roy is jealous of him because he thinks Hubris got the life he wanted and receives more love from his parents. Pretends not to know him in public.

Bunnicula (Pet Bunny): Bob gave Hubris a bunny for his birthday and Hubris loved it since. Named it Bunnicula because its red eyes remind him of a vampire. He plays with it and talks to it sometimes.

Frank (“Uncle”): Is a free uber driver to him. Roy pays him to babysit Hubris for him. Is the fun uncle that lets their nephew do whatever they wanna do/breaks a couple of rules with. Thinks Hubris is alright. Referred to him as his “Accomplish.” Bakes sweets for Frank because he said, “I- I mean we- need it for our mission.” Hubris, unknowingly, makes Frank’s job easier by teaching him baking tricks (ex: hiding things in brownies).

Robert and Ross (Strangers/Older Brother’s Friends): Thinks he’s a little annoying but knows he only means well. Only knows Roy has a half brother because he was forced to babysit him one time. They believe Roy’s treatment of Hubris is needlessly cruel, by paying a random man to babysit his brother or making him do mischievous tasks in hope he gets in trouble.

Skid and Pump (Friends): Tried to bully them after he saw Roy bullying them- Ended up becoming friends with them

Kevin (Candy Man): Stops by at the candy shop every time he’s in town. Knows Kevin as “the dude trying to flirt with my mother.” Tries to impress Kevin by bragging to him how good his baked sweets are, Kevin could care less. One of the few customers Kevin likes because Hubris tips an absurd amount every time.

Uncle (Roy's Uncle): Who?

welcome to my enclosure I have many thoughts and doodles abt lila (shipping mostly)

General:

anthro au specific but since my Skid & Lila are both cats, some nights they'll just sit in total darkness (bc cats can see in the dark). it is great and enriching for both of them.

adding onto that, ever since Pump started coming over they added some glow in the dark star stickers along the walls to help him find his way around :)

Lila is transfem to me . I don't need proof or elaboration this is just something I know in my heart /lh

she probably started transitioning pretty young, which is something she feels lucky for. her parents were supportive ^_^ !!

that being said, her parents were rather protective, and she didn't get out too much as a youngin.

-- that is why she was so lax with Skid going outside. she was kind of overcorrecting for that.

She was probably deep into alt fashion in college (elaborated on later)

Shipping Opinions:

I am just some guy on the internet, if you like a ship I don't, that's great and I love that for you! Live your life.

Goldenlavender (x Jaune): gestures at url. I think it is funny. also.

I feel like they've quietly been pining for a very long time now, but they've both been friends for so long and don't want things to change.

there's something quiet and unstated, but definitely there between them. they don't kiss or anything, but they hold each other really close and aren't too shy about being affectionate. you know?

women who are best friends.

also ross would finally have a parent who can pass off as a natural reason why he has black hair. he is beating the hair dye allegations!!!!!!

Grapecandy (x Kevin): I'll be honest right now. I keep thinking Kevin's, like, 17.

He isn't, I think. But I literally didn't even think of him as being a suitable option for her for a while LMAO

I think I can sum up all of the wagegang x Lila thoughts here: It just doesn't compel me, unfortunately. I don't see their potential dynamic as being particularly funny, or spawning interesting drama. Shrugs. Sorry!

specifically w Kevin though I think they would break up as soon as Skid is brought up LMAO. like he doesn't hate the kid but he isn't ready to be a stepfather imo.

(x Bob): Do they have a ship name? Anyw the age gap isn't my main issue with it. Lila's in her late 20s at the youngest, and they're both adults. I don't think anyone means tiny witch Lila when they bring this ship up anyways

nor is the stalking or attempted murder. I had a creepypasta phase, these behaviors are obviously Very Bad irl but they can be interesting to see in fiction. morbid curiosity and whatever.

My main issue is that their potential relationship is so much more interesting if it isn't romantic, you know? Like, how do they know each other? What was he to her? Why did she react so strongly to seeing him in her past? She seems eager to try to reject the idea that the man in the photo is him, but why? Was he important to her? Did she care about him?

TL;DR: I want more fics abt these two's relationship, but specifically non-romantically.

Deadflowers (x Patty): Not sure about this ship name. I don't see this one often. Anyw, I don't actually have any thoughts on Patty, so this is going to be super short.

I think they might have a nice time together on a date, but I don't think it could be anything serious.

Though, if they did.. overworked x overworked means they'll have to take care of the other, even tho it'll mean they call each other hypocrites for working so much all the time.

I could see it as a background/dressing ship, but not really as the focus of anything. sorry girls

Poisonwine (x Skid's Dad): I want to know more from onscreen canon first!!! But I think they could be super interesting!!!

The tweet that implies that he didn't care bout Lila is. hROUUUGH (<- thang whose heart is breaking). He didn't care, but did she know that? Did she care? I feel like she did..

There's no way Lila doesn't know about the cult. I'm a believer that she was a part of it herself until he died (the robes, "Remember Lila") ...Did she join because of her own beliefs, or because her husband was in it? Did he have to coerce her at all?

I think he was a good dad to Skid.

You may notice this is a lot of me dancing around what I actually think they're like. That's because I don't want to really solidify any specific readings of what's going on here. I am embracing the future with open arms!!

RoyalPurple (x Carmen): this was supposed to have its' own section but now I'm making a fic with them so just. wait a minute there HAHAHA /silly

(& Streber): this is a Specifically platonic headcanon but I like to think they ve gone to the same university. They're definitely in diff strands, Streber to Engineering and Lila to Architecture, but they could've met through an org and just been pals.

They weren't suuper close or anything, but they were birds of a feather. Girl who goes to class with chokers and giant boots, and guy dressed like a victorian fantasy LARPer.

I think she sent him flowers or a get well card in the hospital :) [miserable hand shake between them abt being personally victimized by Bob]

(x F. Gregor): same comments as wagegang x Lila; doesn't compel me. Nothing's wrong with it, I just don't see it.

(x Dexter): this is only funny to me because I draw Lila and co as cats in the Anthro AU. he calls her a stupid bitch, we can move on.

(x Jack): I could see a onesided crush from his side, like "the lady who keeps calling is kinda cute" but I don't know if I could see it getting serious. she can give him a smooch if he wants, as a treat.

(x John): ok this one could actually be really cute. eatyourmaker's post abt Skid and John getting along is super adorable and I could maybe imagine Lila hitting it off with him after seeing how much he cares for Skid. maybe Skid plays matchmaker. this could work. I like it.

(x Ignacio): in the deleted scenes she tried to beat a teen to death for calling Skid a dumbass, I don't think she could get over the threats.

(x Fat Thief/Thin Thief): this could be funny if she was still mad at them for breaking in repeatedly. she doesn't seem threatened by them just irritated LMAO

(x Frank): childhood friends who don't really talk but are chill with each other. they're funny. I don't feel the romance tho. S&P's cool uncle

(x Pump & Susie's Parents): Pump & Susie officially get Skid as a brother AND they finally have one (1) parent who isn't always absent, just sometimes absent. other than as a background detail tho there's nothing here.

Lila x Juane Fluff

My first request in a while and its for a ship thats obviously one of the best ( imo ofc )

"Much needed breaks"

Lila huffed as she sat down. After having her life at risk constantly and having to protect two kids, one not even hers, AND having to do a job while being a single mom, she deserves to feel tired and irritated. She suddenly heard a knock on the door. She growled and went to open the door, expecting everything horrible. But she opened to find Juane with a bottle of wine.

"Hey Lila- Oh God, you alright?" Juane asked concerned. Lila didn't even realized she looked tired with everything. "Yea I'm fine, come in" Lila stepped aside and Juane came in reluctantly. The two women sat on the couch. "So whats up?" Lila asked. "Well I was out and I found a bottle of your favorite wine! Thought maybe we'd drink ir together?"

Juane pulled out the bottle, red and gold shining off each other. Lila smiled tiredly and grabbed the bottle. "Thanks Juane, you know you didn't have to" Juane shook her hand. "Nonsense! I saw it and knew I had to get it for you!"

Juane went up to grab two wine glasses. Lila sat there, looking at the bottle. She didn't have to buy this for her. She could of just ignored it. She could of just gave it to her and went on either her night. But no. Juane wanted to drink with Lila. And even if Lila didn't want to interact with anyone now, she could handle drinking with Juane for a night.

Juane sat back down with the wine glasses. As Lila poured the wine, she already felt a lot more calm without even having a drop of the wine. She didn't think much, starting to drink. The air was tranquil, the silence was welcomed, and the overall company was enjoyed.

Juane put one of her hands on top of Lila's, the other hand holding her wine. Lila looked down, the warm hand just barely covering hers. Lila giggled and interlaced her fingers with Juane's.

"You should just move in. I'll help you and I'm sure the kids won't mind" Lila said. "You love coming by and you keep on talking about moving in so why not?" Juane put down her glass and moved closer to her. "I will move in soon. Keep in mind we should probably tie the knot and we can have our little big family" Juane said, caressing Lila's hand. "True, have you talked with Kevin and Ross about this?"

Juane nodded. "They seemed okay with moving in and having this thing happen" Lila sipped on her wine, the slight burn and the cherry taste traveling down her throat. "Well, I still need enough money for a ring but I assure you I will propose" Lila said.

Unbeknownst to them, Skid watched. He knew of their relationship, he didn't understand but he wanted his mommy to be happy. Besides, if things happen, Juane could be his female-dad! Or other mom, but Skid found female-dad to be a funny way to look at things. He watched as the two women drank wine and talked about the future. He didn't understand much, but he was excited just as much as them.

If the Tailor of Enbizaka x Spooky Month au happens though—I thought Lila might also be a good fit for Luka since it would make sense. Skids dad/Atticus could be Gaku, and Skid could be Len. And whoever is in the role of Kaito for the story is just mistaken to be Skids dad/Atticus by Lila.

OOOO WAIT

Ross's dad as Kaito, Jaune as Meiko?? And Streber as Rin, and Kevin as Miku?? 👀 That'd make Lila mistaking him for her "dead" husband a little more sad though.

It follows mostly the same story as the original NitW, but with a couple of changes.

Rather than astral projecting and dreaming about the Deep Hollow Hollerers, Susie dreams about The Eyes of the Universe, and it's later in the game where she learns about Skid and his dad BOTH going missing. She and Skid are cousins in this AU.

In the game, Mae and company find themselves in the cult of the Black Goat, which is led by Eide. In this AU, the Stranger (Phil) kidnaps either Roy or Robert, depending on who you befriended more. He plans to sacrifice them to The Eyes, to save Sedona (this version's Deep Hollow).

I might draw fanart of this depending on how you guys like it!

Skid and Pump X Catastrophe Crow AU

the og family relations of the ARG IRL people do not transition between here (skid isn't pump's dad is what I'm trying to say)

(they are adults in this au)

Skid: Manfred

Pump: Thea

Lila: Marta

Hatzgang: Nils

Plot is as follows: (touchy stuff will be marked in blue, while the main wholesome aspects will be in pink!)

Skid, with spare time during the summer, decides to make a game for his best friend Pump. He wants to give it a spooky aspect, as a callback to their little Spooky Month shenanigans.

He makes Ki-Kin, a simple little pumpkin critter, as the playable character; perfect for the simple nature of the game. He calls the game "Privation PumpKin!", and continues to work on the game, putting in various spooky things.

Later, after getting quite a bit of the game done, Skid finds out that Pump has gotten severely injured from a bad fall down some stairs. Skid is crushed...

He visits Pump in the hospital, only to discover that he is in a psuedocoma. Unable to hear his friend's voice again, Skid breaks down in the hallway once visiting hours are over.

Back home, Skid sits in his room, mulling over everything that's happened. He almost gives up working on the game, seeing as there's no one to give it to, but it gives him a purpose.

So he continues working on a game that isn't meant for anyone, not even for himself. Nine weeks of sleep deprivation catch up to him, and Skid finally passes out on the floor. (mind you, he has been eating and drinking. just not sleeping)

The Hatzgang start getting worried for Skid after not hearing anything from him in weeks, not even about the game he was seemingly obsessed with. They go to check up on him.

They walk in to a house that feels deserted. In some spots there's spider webs and peeling paint. They go up into Skid's room and notice the screen on the computer, still open on a coding interface. Roy glances down for a second and, seeing Skid looking like a dead person, starts panicking.

When the others see Skid on the floor, they immediately start checking him for any sign of life. Ross feels him breathing, and notices the bags under his eyes. Roy grabs a blanket from Skid's own bed, and brings it to him, laying it on him

Ross finds some candy and brings it back in a dish, placing it next to Skid. Robert writes a little note with their phone numbers on it, as well as a little message, and places it on his desk. The three head off to let Skid get his well-deserved rest.

When Skid wakes up, he glances around, noticing the candy dish and the blanket. He stands up, realizing how weak his legs feel, and goes to sit back in his chair, when he spots the note on his desk. He looks at the numbers, recognizing them to be the Hatzgang's after reminiscing on the many prank calls from them.

Upon seeing that the note is folded, he opens it and sees a message inside.

"Get some more sleep, or we'll make you. -Robert"

Skid is about to toss the note in the garbage, when he realizes that, if he finishes the game, he could give it to the Hatzgang! He sticks the note on his computer with some tape, and flicks the computer back on. (Computer screens turn off if you leave them be for long enough)

He looks at the date...

HE SLEPT FOR TWO DAYS!?

Chapter Ten - The New Captain America

“Miss King, I thought you would want to know that Secretary Ross just entered the compound.” Friday alerted you.

“Showtime.” You said with a savage smirk.

“Stark, Rogers. You arrested my brother in law?” Ross asked, anger dripping off him.

“He was dealing weapons under the table, to Hydra. We have irrefutable evidence.” Tony said, a little smugly.

“And you didn’t inform me of this before you did anything?”

“We were given the go ahead to hit the Hydra bases we uncovered, Mr King owned one of those bases and was on site when we launched our attack.”

“Uncle Thaddy?” You called, skidding around the corner.

“What are you doing here?” He demanded.

“Uncle Thaddy, they arrested my dad. He was working with Hydra.” You said, your eyes shining and a helpless, broken expression on your face.

Even Steve felt bad for you apparently because he instinctively moved closer to you.

“Captain, why is my niece in Avengers custody?” Ross snarled.

“What if Hydra come after me? Who’ll protect me? I can’t fight Nazi’s!” You protested.

Tony stuffed his fist into his mouth to stop from laughing at the affronted look on your face, like you were offended at the very idea of having to fight Hydra on your own.

“You had better show me this irrefutable evidence right now.” Ross dictated.

It hadn’t escaped anyone’s notice that your uncle had yet to speak directly to you as you moved to stand in front of him, with wide innocent eyes and a trembling bottom lip.

“I helped them, I dropped a bug in Daddy’s pocket. I had to Uncle Thaddy, I thought it would prove he was innocent but he wasn’t. He really was Hydra.” You said, a tear rolling down your cheek.

“Everything will be fine, I’ll handle this.” Your uncle said, patting you on the shoulder awkwardly.

“Please do, if everybody finds out then what’s going to happen to the company? We made weapons for Hydra Uncle Thaddy, what will people think of us? Will I lose the penthouse?” You wailed.

Ross barely contained his eye roll and thankfully didn’t see Tony’s shoulders shake violently at your bratty display.

“Please, just go get a glass of water and calm down. I’ll handle everything.” He said, dismissing you and stepping past you to continue onwards.

Tony silently high fived you.

Your phone rang in your pocket and you gave up your quest for Frank and answered it.

“Hello?”

“Your uncle just transferred all of his shares of King Inc to you.” Matt said without preamble.

“Well the Secretary of State can’t have shares in a company that was making weapons for Hydra.” You said, not even trying to contain your victory smirk.

“The board have called an Emergency meeting, you need to get to the company now. Foggy and I will meet you there.” He said.

“On my way.” You said, hanging up.

“You manipulated Ross into cutting ties with the company, well played. How were you sure he would transfer his shares to you?” Natasha asked any you looked around until you spotted her leaning against a window on the other side of the room.

“Because I’m his naive, easily manipulated flesh and blood.” You said with a shrug.

She gave you an appraising look and nodded in approval.

“Wanda and I agree that West is not Hydra. He’s helping us identify possible Hydra operatives who your father spent time with, and making soup with Wanda and Vision.” She informed you and you breathed a sigh of relief.

“And your cat is currently terrorizing Cap.” She added and you snorted.

“Well far be it from me to interfere with Frank’s decisions.” You decided.

“So you’ve managed to turn this mess with your father to your advantage then?” She noted.

“King Inc was always going to be mine, all my father did was move up the timeline.” You informed her.

“Why do you want it?” She asked.

“Why do I want a multi billion dollar company that has the funds and resources to help thousands if not millions of people? King inc wasn’t a tech company when it started, my mother was a biomedical scientist and King Inc was supposed to research, market and sell medication to the masses at affordable prices.” You told her.

“So you want to fufill your mothers vision for the company?”

“Not exactly...”

“Tell me about it on the way, I’ll drive you.” She told you.

“Move.” Steve commanded.

Frank yawned lazily and twisted around to lie on his back.

“What are you doing?” Sam asked as he came in the room.

“He won’t move.” Steve said unamusedly.

Frank made a yowling sound like he was taunting Steve and Sam guffawed when he saw where Frank was.

“Sorry Cap, I think that’s his Shield now.” Sam said, laughing at the put out expression on Steve’s face.

“Everytime I try to move him he attacks me.” Steve said, showing Sam the already healing scratches covering his hands and forearms.

Frank swished his tail at Steve.

“I was annoyed at having a cat living here but I think I’ll allow it. Frank can stay.” Tony said through the speakers.

“Seriously Steve, you’re a super soldier. Just pick the cat up.” Sam told him.

Steve slowly approached the cat and straight away Frank hissed, his hair standing on end, making a screaming yowling sound.

“Don’t mess with Captain Kittymurica’s Shield.” Sam wheezed, bent over laughing.

“Where’s Bucky? He can use the metal arm.” Steve asked, stomping away.

He heard voices in the kitchen and headed in that direction, Sam trailing behind him.

“The trick young man is to always add smaller pinches. You can add more but you can’t take it away.” West instructed kindly.

“I understand, I build up the ingredients over time rather than add them all at once.” Vision affirmed.

“Precisely.” West confirmed, beaming proudly as Vision added a small pinch of herbs to the bubbling pot on the stove.

“What’s going on?” Steve asked.

“Ah, Captain Rogers. Your team mates here are allowing me to assist them in cooking for you all.” West explained.

“We’re making soup and homemade bread.” Wanda said as she kneaded dough on the countertop.

“Mr West is quite an accomplished chef, I have already learned so much.” Vision added.

Steve looked absolutely lost by the turn of events.

“Wanda? A word.” He said, gesturing to the hallway.

“West, could you take over?” She asked, wiping her hands on a tea towel.

“Of course my dear.”

“Why is he not in an interview room?” Steve asked her once she joined him in the hallway.

“Natasha and I agree that he isn’t Hydra and Tony and Bruce said we could let him out to wander around the compound.” She informed him.

“And nobody though to tell me?” he asked.

“I thought you knew.” You said, shrugging apologetically.

“It’s alright, it’s not your fault. Tony should have told me.” He assured her.

“Captain Rogers, Mr Stark asked me to inform you that he’s allowed Mr West free reign of the compound.” Friday interjected and Wanda bit her tongue to stop the amused giggle.

“You don’t look happy.” Natasha noted.

She was waiting in the underground parking lot for you.

“The board just ordered me to take a step back and distance myself from the company.” You snapped angrily as you stormed over to Natasha’s convertible.

“So not what you were expecting then?” She said drily as you hopped into the car.

“My fathers shares are divided amongst the pre-existing board members in the event that he is unable to take responsibility for the company. I don’t inherit them unless he dies.” You said, fuming.

“So what’s your plan now?”

“I played along, cried a bit and thanked them all for being so helpful and loyal. My uncle owned 10% of the shares, I got 10% when I turned 21 and I have 2% under shell corporations. I need my fathers 39% to have a majority. So I guess the plan is I kill my father?” You rattled off.

“Good plan. Think you could so it?” Natasha asked.

“Yes.”

She raised an eyebrow at you and you smirked.

“Well, actually I think I can manipulate my Uncle into doing it for me.”
