big big big fan of found family relationships with shithead sibling dynamics
sure, yeah, they had no one in the world until they found each other, and they will fight tooth and nail for each other's safety, but they will also eat the last of the other's cereal and put the box back in the cabinet or tell the other's significant other every embarrassing story about them or greet each other by means of full body tackle and chokehold

one of the fundamental mistakes serano and a lot of others make involves the following line of reasoning:
1. some people have dysphoric other-gender embodiment-desires (e.g. for different genitals) before they acquire an understanding of gender-sex associations or even that there are genitals other than their own
2. if gender is totally socially constructed, as the social constructionists say, then these embodiment-desires would not be possible in such a state of ignorance
3. modus tollens the social constructionists are wrong and there must be some innate gender-desire
this is often accompanied by the following:
1. if social constructionism is right, then the abolition of gender would mean the elimination of dysphoric embodiment-desires
2. the state of knowledge prior to acquiring gender-sex knowledge is analogous to the state of affairs under gender abolition
3. in that state some people still have dysphoric embodiment-desires
4. modus tollens the social constructionists are wrong
these arguments are often defensive, to be fair—the first premise of the latter argument is unfortunately made by certain social constructionists too, steamrolling those early childhood experiences. but in both cases there is a circular mistake happening. the dysphoric embodiment-desires can precede gender-sex knowledge specifically because they are separable from it. penis-dysphoria in young childhood can only be called gender dysphoria if we assume the very gender-sex epistemic constructions we have agreed not to take for granted! and the former dysphoria may well persist in the absence of the latter constructions. this is what people say when they talk about a (utopian, perhaps, but nonetheless coherent and logically possible) gender abolitionist future where people can have whatever procedures they desire done. the embodiment-desires are still there! they are just freed from gender-sex associations.

like, for being largely a plot device character, Raphael presents some interesting characterization. only on a second run-through, after knowing more about him, do you start to realize how profoundly insecure Raphael is and how frequently he gives that away.
in his very first meeting with you, he constantly refers to himself as a 'devil'. he's not a devil. he's a cambion. which is a distinct category of its own and, power-wise, so inconsequential that they're not even considered a part of the devil hierarchy. this means that whatever power and prestige he does have (if he even has any, because the game doesn't really go into devil politics), he only has because his father is Mephistopheles. and he hates his father. yet he also can't help but embody a lesser version of his father. that same theatricality, same princely demeanour, same hoarding of treasures. even his 'red, horns, and wings' form is exactly like Mephistopheles's chosen form. he seems to hate his father because he makes him feel small, yet also undeniably looks up to his father because he uses the exact same facade. and once you notice this, so much of what Raphael does seems incredibly childish. He so desperately wants to be something more than Mephistopheles's cringefail son but can't stop centring his dad in everything that he does.
what a horribly human trait to have.

things raph does bc he’s an older sibling
- sometimes he locks them out of the lair while looking directly at them
- sometimes pushes their heads in their shells while walking
- bites them (they get grossed out and try get him back)
- gives the most annoying kisses on their head, like brings them in hugs and just SMOOOCH and they’re always like RAPH- RAPH STOP
- if they’ve done something to piss him off- he runs to chase them and does three specific things depending on which brother it is
- he corners mikey and laughs at him screaming when he moves from side to side really quick
- if it’s donnie he uses his ninpo and makes clones of himself to stop him
- if it’s leo he’s gonna shove whatever the slider’s hiding behind towards him to further corner him
- “im older so i’m right”
- “you always took the smaller pieces when we were tots, it was really sweet”
“actually raph had like several before i shared them w you guys”
“you what”
- takes the most atrocious bites of their food when he asks for a share- EVEN AFTER THEYVE TOLD HIM TO GET A LITTLE BIT
- leans on them randomly, fully knowing they’re gonna fall
- if u agree w the rest of the fandom w him having a long tail, he sometimes hits them w it and says it’s an accident
- holding shit out of their reach
- as an extension of the other thing, he also just puts things on higher shelves when he sees the others struggling to get something
- if they’re on the floor he knocks them over while passing by
- burping and directing it at one of them. does not matter who, they always get disgusted and it’s the funniest shit to him

Dustin posting a Tiktok where the background is a screenshot of his last text conversation with Steve.
Steve sent him a text that says ‘I will destroy you’ followed by a text that says ‘LOL sorry, meant to send that to Eddie.’
Dustin’s just like, “RIP Eddie Munson. I don’t know what you did but start groveling.”

I love that people in my notes are calling Neil Gaiman a “random Jewish celebrity” that I’m baselessly attacking, as though: 1) “Israel has the right to exist” is not textbook Zionism; 2) he was not married to Amanda Palmer when she performed in Israel (in spite of calls for her not to do so); and, 3) he isn’t a wildly successful author and artist that this website worships
There are plenty of Jewish celebrities who give me no reason to think about their stance on Zionism! There are plenty of gentile celebrities who do! Get a grip!
