Sudden theory about re9!

This time I didn't expect to write this theory, because I saw this thing unexpectedly. And I'm still in a stupor.

Another theory about Wesker, but this time with a screenshot I haven't seen anywhere else... (wow wtf??)

Spread this photo around so more people know about it.

I found this image when I was replaying re8. There's a red line leading from him to Chris.

Initially I always thought it was Karl Heisenberg but then I got to thinking… why would he want his own pictures on his own information board? And they have completely different facial features.

I used free camera to examine this photo and was horrified to find that it was an exact replica of Wesker, only older and with long hair. I also noticed that his glasses are on a string or something. If you doubt that this is Wesker's face, just look closely at the shape of the nose, the distance between the nose and mouth, and then look at the shape of the face and chin. They're identical.

So, what are my conclusions? Let's run a logical chain to make it easier for us: Karl collected information on all the people who were in any way connected to Miranda. Chris is connected to her because he's been investigating a case involving Mold and Miranda since as early as 2017. And Wesker is connected because he worked for The Connections in the HCF division. It was The Connections that developed Eveline, and Miranda worked for them. It's unlikely that Wesker has anything directly to do with that. He's also connected to Chris, which is why their photos are connected by a red line.

Now let's discuss his face. This is obviously an aged version of Wesker's new appearance from re4r. In 2021, at the time of the re8 storyline, he is 61 years old. The photo is probably recent, judging by Chris' photo. Wesker has long hair here, which is interesting. Of the boring stuff, the glasses are a different shape. There are official hints in the Umbrella Corps game that Wesker is alive, it says so almost directly there. Read my theories if you're interested. Here. And here.

Given all the hints that Wesker is alive, can this photo be considered official confirmation? We'll see.

I really haven't seen anyone else write about it.

Making dumb guesses about Resident Evil 9 because we can!

Ok so, re9 is allegedly going to be the "most ambitious" re game yet, right? That means they're probably gonna do something weird with it, aren't they? Story wise or gameplay wise.

So... how about we play a dumb game where you guys reblog this post with outlandish story and gameplay ideas for funsies?

And I don't mean something like, "Rebecca comes back and Chris and Jill finally get together!" More like, "Rebecca comes back after having discovered a cure for evil and is now on a crusade to inject everyone with it and Chris and Jill discover they were business partners in a previous life because reincarnation is a thing." Stupid shit like that.

Got it? Ok, I'll start.

They introduce time travel/multiverse bullshit and there are now multiple copies of each character running around. All the Claires are getting along, the Leons are avoiding each other, and the Weskers are probably making out. Also, Wesker's back.

It'll also be played with motion controls.

A CHREON HEADCANON IDEA FOR RE9

So in the timeline of the franchise we don't hear about Leon since Death Island which happens in 2015.

And the last events we were left off with Village were in 2021.

There is no account of Leon's whereabouts in-game or in the lore about where he could be.

If we take in the fact that Leon is by this point pretty fed up with the government's bullshit, pretty angry at being used and abused from the beginning, that he's burnt out and starting to question everything for some time now, what if! Leon has gone to join Chris' side through out all the the Romania operation!

What if he's working with him and secretly helping him uncover his suspicions about the BSAA by being a secret member of his Hound Wolf squad!

If there is one person Leon can trust with his eyes closed, it's Chris Redfield. Whether he'd do it because he came across evidences himself or because he's finally fed up with the manipulations from agencies and institutions that always seem involved in the evil they send them to fight, or we could even envision that he became a compromised agent in need of hiding, either ways, there are many objective reasons for him to join Chris on his quest to uproot the evil from within once and for all (this time doing it their way).

I have this imagery in my head... of a Hound Wolf soldier entering Chris' tent - the latter leaned over blue prints and reports, the soldier taking off his face camouflage and it's revealed that it's Leon!

Chris slowly smiles, Leon adjusts his hair and slowly smiles back.

Leon S. Kennedy is AWOL for a some time now, and we finally found out where he's been.

Well, I'll stop here because what I have in mind for what follows goes slightly in an smexy direction~

I feel like Capcom missed a HUGE opportunity to have all the 4 main characters of Resident Evil together after village. I mean there's still time, possibly but Shadows of Rose should have never been made yet. Resident Evil 9 or whatever their next installment should include Leon, Claire, Chris, and Jill. I mean your going to tell me that the government isn't going to try to kidnap rose and experiment on her? Or the BSAA for that matter. Now that the BSAA is corrupt and Chris doesn't know who to trust anymore, surely he could trust Jill and obviously Claire, even Rebecca! Barry, Sheva! But regardless I just can't see why the government wouldn't want to try to take rose. And that should be where Leon comes in on the DSO side. The government is corrupt also! This would have been the perfect story for the four of them to come together and fight one last time. Obviously this would be the biggest fight of their lives, not only the BSAA but also the government. What would that mean for Leon? The DSO couldn't trust him if they find out he's helping Chris! Would the government send agents out to hunt Leon down? Kill him?! Not to mention the amount of people that will be out for Chris and Chris alone? Especially if he's hiding Rose. I just feel that there are so many different ways for this to happen and to have our four beloved characters together again! Come on Capcom! Give it a chance! Use your brains! ❤️💚💙🩵

And here we are again… RE9 theory

It's time for another theory! I'll be writing these right up until the release of RE9, so apologies if you're tired of speculation. I had a theory about this Wesker concept once before, but it came out too vague + I tied the concept to RE4R, but it never made it into the game. So here's a new theory that has captured my brain.

What if, this concept never belonged to re4r? What if it showed up in early development of re9? Let me explain.

Imagine that Wesker is alive in re9. You can imagine the importance of keeping such a news secret, because it is quite a shocking information for fans. If this is the main intrigue in re9, the game would lose it if information about Wesker leaked to the public. If you were the designers and developers, you wouldn't let such news get out of the organization any way. So, put yourself in the shoes of a Capcom employee? Let's move on.

Suddenly such an important detail is leaked by Wesker's voice actor and your intrigue risks becoming public, the game will lose half of its interest without keeping Wesker a secret. You, as a developer\designer need to solve something, somehow fix the situation so that no one will know about the return of this character in the new game.

Then you make a GENIAL decision, setting your sights on re4r, which is in the middle of development. You decide to add this Wesker design to re4r to ward off all suspicion and get out of the disadvantage. Well done, you succeeded in fooling the fandom, now everyone is convinced that this concept was originally made for re4r.

It would seem that everything is fine, no one will know the truth until the re9 release happens, but… Wesker's concept never showed up in re4r. That image is not inside the game or in the concept book. We, the players, are left to assume that this concept was trivially not intended for re4r.

To confirm this theory, I'll ask you to pay attention to a few details - the face (1), the hair (2) and the hand (3). 1. The face, to be honest, could be anything on these concepts, because they are made sometimes before the studio finds the right actor to give the appearance to the character. But I'm left wondering if his face here is taken from re5 and yet looks much older. If this was for re4r, wouldn't Wesker look younger? 2. His hairstyle deviates a lot from the usual style that every game has. Capcom couldn't change Wesker's hairstyle for the REMAKE of the game, because it's an important part of it. Changing his hairstyle is tantamount to removing his sunglasses. But that kind of hair is acceptable for a new game. I assume this is how his new style was planned for the future in which he is alive (?). If you've ever seen the "early" versions of re4r, you probably know that in them Wesker has that exact weird hairstyle, which Leon also has in the "hero" skin. I believe that when Capcom added the "hero" hairstyle to Wesker, they were trying to make him look even more like the concept to minimize information leaks among the staff.

3. In none of the games did Wesker suffer an arm injury. In Code Veronica, his hand was set on fire, but the wound is not serious and Wesker is able to heal his wounds in SECONDS. It doesn't make sense to emphasize his wound for a Code Veronica concept. It also doesn't make sense to do a wound for re4r, because in the original Wesker never left his chair at all, and in the remake he didn't get into any serious fights. This wound is something new that hasn't happened yet, but one day will. In all the games, Wesker heals any injuries quickly, but at the end of re5 he took too much damage, so he probably lost some of his strength, causing him to keep his wounds for a long time.

That's the kind of thoughts that visit me when I see this image but don't see it inside re4r. If it's a "discarded" concept, it too should appear officially, like Ada's concept for re8 that was never added to the game.

spoilers for resident evil village, vendetta, and death island. this is however mostly just what i want to see for re9 which is probably coming out either next or after whatever remake is coming up

i hope leon isnt in RE9 as much as i love him because i have this feeling that hes gonna die

hes doing better. you can see in death island that he is doing so much betteem im unsure how theyd take this since death island takes place in 2015 and RE9 would probably end up taking place in the future (due to rose's age) but killing a character in the middle of their arc when they feel like theyre doing better is the OPTIMAL time to do so

im not 100% sure on the fact that capcom would kill their current moneymaker because even before RE4R came out everyone still loved leon but theyve still managed to release titles that have done well without him, anyway, like biohazard and village

i do however hope that jill is involved. she hasnt been in a game since re5 and she's an important part of chris' story. we know thanks to shadows of rose that mia mainly raised rose but we also know what chris was involved as well, and i just think it'd be cute if chris had no fucking clue what he's doing and jill was there to help him. death island makes it very clear that jill is still extremely traumatized, not only from the events from RE1 and RE3, but also from RE5 (mainly) and the events that happened in between.

theres so many things that they can do with her and since she hasnt been in a game for a while, it's total free real estate on what happened to her between the events of DI (or more importantly, RE5) and RE9. is jill still working with chris? what has she been doing ever since she (assuming she did, but she almost definitely did) left the BSAA? has she started her own independent thing similar to the hound wolf squad? or does she help chris with the hound wolf squad? it's not like jill to retire, especially since her role in death island is about her getting back into the field after RE5 and presumably a few years break after that.

i hope shes still lowkey mean too. like in the RE3R irritable way that she's just a little bit fed up because i want to see those resident evil fandom misogynists cry about it. its fine when leon's a total dick in vendetta bwcause hes traumatized but when a WOMAN is a dick to an organization that DESERVES IT because SHES traumatized, its suddenly a problem.

and i know leon isn't constantly a dick and he's not necessarily a violent drunk like chris is shown to be, im fully aware that leon has a good heart and isnt an asshole completely, but he was kind of a dick in vendetta. just a little bit. and people think its hot so my point stands.

Chreon headcanon idea for RE9 N°2

In RE Village, apprarently from what some have held in the lines of codes, the bioweapon discovered by Chris' squad has the same exact facial model. a sort of genetic copy.

We know the BSAA is going bad but it's also sure that Umbrella is not dead. Could it be that blue umbrella uses some their agents' genetic codes in the hopes of cloning them.

I mean, look at this,

Now imagine my mind fusing with theories when I saw this information.

So here is my second favorite plot idea for RE9 which is also linked to my previous theory that Leon could be MIA for some time now : Chris going to the BSAA european HQ as he said in-game, and while infiltrating and investigating, he stumbles across none other than a clone of Leon!

It would make sense that if any agency wanted to make bioweapon soldiers and super soldiers, they will want genetics from the best agents they know of. We already have proof with Chris!

Now we could imagine that his mission takes another turn right then, and he ends up on the path of uncovering a secret facility where such experiments take place.

The Leon clone could be made into a new boss that Chris has to fight at every turn!! Him actually finding Leon held in there, either sedated or heavily emprisoned!

To be honest, this is hightly unlikely to be the next installement's direction, but the fondations' idea stem from where the canon left off soo it's a fun exercice to assume and speculate~

(It has the potential of a good dramatic fic though, but I'm too new to this fandom so I don't feel like I'd do it justice).
