one of my favorite things about zedaph is that on a server full of people that find strange and oft-overlooked minecraft mechanics or rare events and then see just how far they can push them in the name of spectacle or efficiency or world-breaking, zed is over here finding these mechanics in order to do the weirdest things he can think of in as entertaining a manner as possible

like i 100% have faith in zedaph's theoretical ability to be just as efficient or spectacular or world-breaking. if he wanted to do that stuff, i trust that he absolutely could. but thats so far from being his priority. instead, hes going to spend around a week of irl time focused entirely on eventually having the good luck to spawn in something insanely rare so that he can convert it into something even rarer, the result of which being something that 99% of the server reacts with complete and utter shock that it even exists in the first place, just because its zany and funny and he wanted to. and i love that

I like the idea of the Toa Mata being... around when needed, but for the most part just kinda going off and doing their own thing since they're not really beholden to any rules. It's a very special thing to actually see one of the Toa chilling out somewhere

A very little detail about luffy that just came to mind (probably not important but pls excuse my tunnel vision when it comes to zolu), but zoro literally was the first strawhats that luffy shedded his tears for???

Mihawk vs Zoro. You can even see his tears falling from both eyes. From the left eye (1st pic) and right eye (2nd pic).

And not only that but i think it happened twice?

You can see rayleigh stopping kizaru from hurting zoro. Then if you look at the bottom panel, after seeing rayleigh you can spot the little snot from luffy's nose and a single tear from his left eye. Luffy was very relieved to see rayleigh, but more importantly, he was very relieved because rayleigh had just saved zoro from kizaru's attack.

Now the more i think about it, those two moments (when luffy cried(?) for zoro) were never really a grandiose one with all the big tears and ugly sobbing. But well, if you think about it, that kind of thing wouldn't be possible(?) not really... cuz at the time when those two situations occurred, zoro was in incredible danger AND with powerful foe/s around. Luffy didn't have the time to properly process his emotions. Like heck after mihawk slashed zoro, luffy even tried to attack mihawk. And with the sabaody arc one, the situation was even more chaotic..

So honestly? Im just thinking about how zoro probably was the first person outside of luffy's family and all of his loved ones from foosha village (imma include shanks and his crew just bcs) that ever made him cry. I'm talking about the 'you are important to me, i care about you, and i don't want you getting hurt/dead' kind of tears, and ughh, idk let me just excuse myself and weep for a bit

That being said, if im not wrong i think zoro and usopp are the only two strawhats who ever made their captain cry twice. (Luffy cried after the battle with usopp (usopp leaving the crew) and after usopp rejoining the crew)

I saw a janky ai image in which, doing what ai often does, had some really weird looking animals in the background. My favourite of these creatures was an odd fox-bird hybrid. Decided for shits and giggles to turn it into an oc

Anyway now for some headcanons about mobians:

When two mobians of different animal species have a kid, the vast majority of the time the species of the kid is basically a coin flip; they end up 100% of the animal of just one of the parents. For instance, a cat mobian and their dog mobian spouse will typically end up with a kid who is fully cat mobian or fully dog mobian.

However, hybrids, who are a mix of the two parent species, are pretty rare but not impossible! To give rough odds, I’d say it’d probably be something like 1 in 500. In these cases sometimes they will lean more towards the species of one parent over the other, but other times they can be pretty evenly mixed.

Excavation Uncovers Very Rare 6th C. Iron Folding Chair

ARCHAEOLOGISTS HAVE UNCOVERED A “FOLDING CHAIR” FROM THE 7TH CENTURY AD DURING EXCAVATIONS IN THE VILLAGE OF ENDSEE, LOCATED IN MIDDLE FRANCONIA, GERMANY.

The chair was first discovered in 2022, deposited as a funerary offering in a burial from the early medieval period. The grave contained the remains of a woman aged 40-50-years-old, along with a necklace made of small multi-coloured glass beads, two brooches, an almandine disc brooch, a large millefiori bead, and a whorl.

In addition to the woman’s grave, the archaeologists also uncovered a man’s grave containing richly decorated weapons (lance, shield, spathe). According to the researchers, the graves are probably related to the Franconian influence of the Main and Tauber regions in the 6th and 7th centuries.

Now unveiled to the public at the “Archaeology in Bavaria” conference following a lengthy restoration process, the chair consists of two frames connected with an axle pin and is decorated with brass non-ferrous metal inlays. There are narrow slots on the horizontal struts, which were used to attach a seat likely made from animal fur (as indicated by mineralised organic remains).

Folding chairs deposited as grave goods are exceptionally rare. Within scholarly investigations they suggest that the deceased held a prominent position or occupied a higher social status. To date, there have been 29 instances of early medieval graves containing folding chairs discovered throughout Europe, with merely six of them being crafted from iron.

Prof. Mathias Pfeil, head of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation, said: “The extremely rare discovery of an early medieval iron folding chair in 2022 was already a sensation, but the fact that such details have been preserved after remaining in the ground for over 1,400 years was a surprise.”

“This find, which at first glance seems so modern, is an absolute rarity and of the highest cultural and historical interest, because it provides insight into the grave furnishings of prominent sections of the population,” added Prof Pfeil.

on the second weekend of january an aunt passes away on the third week of january an uncle passes away you'd never guess what happened on the last weekend of the month... a cousin passes away

#all on my mothers side such a cool month #hope this doesn't prolong til february #i hate going to mass but funeral masses are just awful specially if you're a nonbeliever receiving dirty looks from the old christian ladie #my uncle's funeral was particular in the sense where the were no gravediggers in the village and the people who dug the grave did it wrong #and as you can imagine the coffin didn't fit so they had to dig the grave three times for the coffin to fit in front of the family mind you #which was surreal might i add #when they came to take measurements of the coffin again during the wake i legit thought what if the coffin doesn't fit after all this #little did i know #for the sake of mental health i'm not going to the cousin's funeral and also we weren't close since he was an older man and i rarely saw #his part of the family but my mom will probably go since she liked him and he's closer in lineage wise (idk if that how you say it...) #i feel like lineage is the wrong word but he's like a 4th to 5th degree cousin to me #anywayssss
