I have seen people talk about the conversation between Rampart and Crosshair and weather Rampart is right about Crosshair changing. And maybe I have just missed the post but I think both Rampart and Crosshair are both right. Rampart is right to doubt Crosshair and Crosshair is right to rebuke him

Look I am going to be honest I think and I have said this before Crosshair cares for Omega much more than he does literally anyone else. It’s not just because he feels indebted to her. He has genuinely grown to love her. So that’s why I think Rampart is wrong, but I don’t think he has changed so much that if push came to shove he wouldn’t sell out everyone except Omega to protect her and himself. Look I know some people think he has the same love for his brothers as he does Omega, but I just don’t. I truly think he would do anything for Omega, but if one of his other brothers was on Tantiss right now he would be trying to convince Omega to leave with him.

This whole season shows that he is constantly pushing himself and facing his trauma because he loves her. He didn’t meditate because it would heal his mind. He did it because he knew it would make Omega happy. He returned to help save Batcher because he knew how much Omega loved her. His love for other things is an extension of his love for her.

So yes crosshair has changed a great deal, but he also hasn’t at the same time. That’s why both Rampart and Crosshair are right. He’s extremely loyal to those who have remained loyal to him and you know who has done that since season 1? Has always tried to help him? Omega.

To paraphrase Dee Bradley Baker crosshair was in a dark place and then he saw a little bit of sun that sun is Omega and he’s still in that dark place. He may never leave it, but that light isn’t leaving him either. That is what that conversation meant.

I find Rampart a funny addition to the last episodes, and I love Noshir Dalal and his interpretation of him, but I think it's important to not forget who Rampart is. The War Mantle program to replace Clone Troopers for the TK troopers was his initiative; he only saw Crosshair as a tool to help him convey his objectives; he targeted the Syndullas, sent Howzer to prison; he always despised the clones and even tried to murder Senator Chuchi, sending one of those X Clone troopers (he knows about that program too); He killed Wilco, He mocked Crosshair when he returned to the Empire after being stranded on Kamino for 32 rotations and possibly lied about Cody's AWOL status; and finally, he made clear his stance in that short conversation he had with Crosshair in the last episode. So, I don't think he is trustworthy. Not yet. Like Senator Organa said to Senator Chuchi, "Rampart is skilled at saying all the right things, especially when he doesn't want anyone looking deeper.".

He is not getting the Kallus arc, and I do not believe the writers are trying to give him one.

Also, I have seen a lot of people say that Crosshair might sacrifice to prove Rampart is wrong about him. But in my opinion, that is bullshit. Crosshair doesn't need to prove anything, and less to that Imperial hydrosnake who Rampart is.

I'm just begging that the writers don't go that route. And if Crosshair is going to die, better not be for Rampart or try to do something for him.

btw I love Noshir and how he engages with the fandom on X. This is not a hate post to Noshir.
