Field Trip + Danny Fenton Bladder Alarm + Mr Lancer's Class Being Cautious + Wayne Enterprise Tour

Danny's grade goes to Gotham for a field trip, at a select number of sites. During the WE tour does Danny need to use the restroom (1st stop for his group).

The rest of the class, who are used to ghost attacks following his departure, become hyper-vigilant and cautious. It's enough to permeate to other people who also feel like they're about to be attacked, like a pack mentality.

Danny returns and everyone calms down.

It doesn't stop there. Each location he does the same thing (his bladder ended up being an alibi that he can use for school, so he has to do the same while in Gotham to keep up the ruse), and still the Gothamites also react but they don't know why.

Eventually, a rouge does attack, while Danny is in the bathroom. Mr Lancer's class is calmer than even the most veteran Gothamite. They're being cautious, but now they have a reason to be so.

Danny returns to the class, which is now a hostage situation, and gets threatened. He does absolutely the opposite of what normal people expect and just stares the rouge down not even bothered by the threat.

Maybe it's normal for Amity Parkers to carry around a basic ecto-gun, so while the main rouge is preoccupied (and pretty darn startled) with Danny, they take down the henchmen.

Then the batfam enter.

(Maybe since the tour they've been looking into these out-of-towners [they caused everyone in their vicinity to have the fight/flight reaction] when they figure out the pattern of Danny using the restroom)

For over 4 decades, I've thought about all the violent names on M*A*S*H. It's very obvious, but I never see anyone talking about it.

Hawkeye PIERCE (all these definitions fit, frankly)

Also HAWK, a bird of prey (also fits 'taking prey by surprise with a short chase' as he's such a whore flirt) who has an extreme personality And is occasionally prone to violence because he’s so angry that there’s not peace.

John TRAPper McIntire

Charles WINCHESTER (a type of gun)

Frank BURNS

Max KLINGEr (root of the Germanic surname is Klinge, meaning "Metal blade or sword"

Father John Francis MULCAHY - in Gaelic means "Warlike"

Walter RADAR O'Reilly - a radio waves system usually used to detect weapons

I kind of love that on a show about war and violence, there are quite a few names that are violent in general, or have violent connotations.

The past couple weeks it’s been really hitting me how much harder it’s been teaching Pride and Prejudice this year—which was so disappointing at first? Because works I’ve traditionally had a harder time with I’ve felt like i’ve broken new ground while teaching and am teaching the kids BETTER. So initially I was so frustrated that my historically easiest work to teach was feeling so difficult! But there’s been some good days that have let me see that part of what was happening was that I have simply never reached this number of kids with pride and prejudice before and so consequently I have never had so many kinds of reactions before! In the waking up from the sleep of simply never paying attention there IS going to be plenty of stupidity, contrariness, crankiness, and almost arguing? Like even with themsELVES. And that’s a good thing.

#it’s hard because I am simply very sensitive and very tired #but I know it’s so good #like I just want to reach as many of them as possible and draw them in #and sometimes the words they say—as hard to hear as it can be for me—are simply proof they are being reached #something is Happening to them #of course not all. there is the usual garden variety boredom adolescent angst and checked out-ness #but this is more than that #anywayyyy of course this is mostly about teaching teenage boys #they’re not going to show you when they’re moved. in words.#but it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening #I talked to another teacher today about it and she goes ‘I can see it happening among them too’#and it has helped! because I really was just in my head about it #first about the book itself (an insane thing but I had a bit of a wobble of just like. okay should I be teaching this)#and then about my own ability.#but it’s just that thing of leveling up.#and yeah some days it DOES make me miss the time when I and the book was sooooo under the radar that 90% of the class quietly checked out #and me and the rest of the students had an undetected fun time #I LIKE to stay in the shadows. in the peace and quiet #but clearly I am not meant to and I have a true compulsion to draw in as many people as possible #it can be scary but I know it’s good #teaching tag #ANYWAYS. thanks for listening

the most horrible news in the world to me is that there is NO cedar/raven content anywhere??? not on ao3 (okay, one fic, but it was posted yesterday by someone from the discord server who was also outraged that there were no fics), or tiktok, or tumblr, or pinterest, or ffn-- there's no fanart, no edits, no fanfics. GUYS.

so this is my cedar/raven propaganda post.

They're already really close! In between the summers of their freshman and sophomore years, they actually spent time together over the summer:

They're besties!!! childhood friends to lovers material, if you may.

I'm sure there's a lot more, but this is just from what I remember from the first book, not to mention all the others !! there's not as much Cedar content in the show in general, but in the books, Raven, Maddie, and Cedar were the initial rebel friend group, and I love that for them and I think that if people ship raven/maddie as much as they do, then raven/cedar should ALSO be a big ship. (radar? cedaraven? queenwood?)
