tbh I think it’s kinda fucked that young men who get radicalized by the alt right tend be receive way more sympathy from leftists than young women who get radicalized into terfdom. It seems like a lot of online leftists see young Nazis as enemies (as they should), but redeemable ones. They get the luxury of having their radicalization explained with Materialism so that they can, in theory, eventually see the light. Which on some levels is good. Deradicalization is a good way of defanging dangerous movements. But radfems never get that grace. Which is understandable, they are hateful bigots after all, but their ideas don’t spring from nowhere. I’ve spent more hours than I’d like to admit curiously scrolling thru radfem blogs. And honestly. I get it. A lot of it just feels like understandable frustration at growing up in a misogynistic culture. On tumblr at least, it seems like radfems are primarily angry at men, trans people are secondary enemies to them. Its justified to be angry. I may not have always lived as a woman, but I harbor a lot of pain and anger at the way misogyny affects my life. But that anger can not be the sole basis of my outlook. Because anger only shows you half the truth. And in the material blind spots is where radfem transphobia comes in. Trans people might not always be the main enemy, but they are the more vulnerable one. While we should oppose terfs, especially the active propagandists who want us dead, it is important to understand how young women get swept up in that ideology. And hopefully through that, we we can try to prevent that rabbit hole.
Or idk whatever I hate discourse lol

"They could have financed Hazbin Hotel indie style. The only benefit was the broadway actors, any internet actor would have done just fine" something that someone said that thought did something. Like, no benefits, you say. Off the top of my head I can see a few: 1. Literally everyone involves get paid well and, if not, they are able to defend themselves in order to demand it in a legal official setting full of contracts and regulations. 2. They reach a bigger audience that they would ever go with just a webseries. 3. Hazbin Hotel starting out as a web series and being a commercial success, so much that they renovate for a second season, is opening the doors for other indie animators to break into the industry. If people with the money see that this internet made shit is profitable, they will want to invest on it. It doesn't even matter that you like this show or not or that you would have prefered that other pilot was taken to be the first. You still watch it. You still talk about it. That is free publicity and companies just love it everytime they don't have to spend more money on that. 4. Reaching a more mainstream audience means also inspiring more people that if they did with a webseries. Inspires them to create, to try to animate themselves, to participate in fandom, and that is good actually. 5. It makes conservatives and militant cristians mad. 6. In geneal, being the show queerpositive in a way that is not even the main thing of the plot and merely another part of the story will mean even more representation like that, even outside of animation. More diverse representation in general. 7. Hazbin Hotel doing well means more people coming to know about Helluva Boss. Fuck, it will definitely opened them up for indie animations in general when they discover that yes, this kind of shit is also available for free. Everyone fucking wins.

LO defends Sophie Labelle
Tumblr media
on her last video "maybe politics as fandom wasn't a good idea" LO used the image of Sophie Labelle, creator of Assigned Male, as an example of "were you pedojacketing trans women online" at around 0:18.
i assume most people know by now what Sophie Labelle did that earned her the label of being a dangerous person for minors, but for those who don't here's the shortest summary: it was find out that Sophie Labelle had an secret alternative account where she published furry diaper art, since that was her fetish, and deleted it as soon it was found out. before that, some people noticed that at least one of the pictures she draw used real life baby as reference, practically tracing over it. it's highly possible that there were many other examples of this happening but the account was gone before anyone could look any deeper, as surely it was Labelle's intention. it wasn't, as LO makes it seem, "radicalized people" the ones at the front of dennouncing this outside of KF. most of the loudest voices during this "controversy" were trans survivors on twitter who were rightfully concerned because Labelle was a influential voice in leftist/trans spaces, many of which included parents of vulnerable children or children themselves. this dennouncing did little else but stop Labelle from posting more frequently. she still has her business going, many people aren't aware of what fully happened or don't realize how serious it is that she purposefully witholds information about what she did. for even more information, this post could help since it contain screenshots of the original tweet with the two pictures side by side and the response of Labelle.
i can't stress this enough: this is not information tucked away on KF anymore. it was exposed on twitter, expanded to facebook and other platforms too. many people became disgusted and dissapointed when they found out because they were fans of Labelle, they have supported her work before, they probably even share it with their own children. by dismissing all these people as "radicalized alt righters" and putting them on the same level as people who would send bomb threats to children's hospital (0:15), LO send two messages to her audience: 1. what Sophie Labelle wasn't too bad and only bad people would care that much about it, so they shouldn't be listened to. 2. "i'm being slandered just as these other two trans women and we all three are equally innocent". someone might argue that maybe LO doesn't know about the reason of the controversy and that is why she can easily dismiss it, as she indeed did when people brought it up to her. the only issue she did had with Sophie is that she is queerpositive on her works and nothing else. i remember many post like the one below that happened the day after Labelle have been dennounced on social media.

Tumblr media
this post have been deleted from her tumblr as far i could search on her blog, even the ones that talked positively about the comic itself.
Tumblr media
considering that we recently discovered the sankaku accounts of LO, which we know includes instances of multiple artists using real minors as references, one can't help to wonder why LO feels the need to defend Labelle and, more than that, directly put herself on the same level as her.

what is 196? :0
I don't know the full story but what I remember is that there was once a subreddit called 195 (the creator's dorm room number i think) and the only rule there was "if you visit you must post" and it was only ever meant for the creator and their friends.
Then the sub got popular and after a while the creator got tired of moderation and "ended the experiment", closing the sub.
Shortly after 196 was born as a continuation (there were several but i think 196 was the most successful)
The sub became very queerpositive for reasons that i don't know but highly appreciate and from there it just kinda kept going, always with that same rule.
Microcelebrities came and went, someone threatened and then posted furry porn, Anarcho-stripperism happened
And then the great reddit fuckup of 2023 happened, and now some of us are here.

Sudden need to shout this into my internet corner. Austrian culture is so fucking shit. Was just to a reading that was supposed to be good fun, on an otherwise quite queerpositive festival overall and what they read was the most transphobic shit ive heard since literal nazis were shouting at us during a demonstration half a year ago. How the FUCK did this text get selected. Oh yea, cishets are transmisogyne as fucking shit.

Snakebinder Academy of Magical Practices
Back in my Harry Potter phase, I was planning something BIG. It was set to be a sequel to the series, set in Australia, 2021. The twin daughters of Susan Bones, Indie and Suie Latrell discover their favourite stories are true - magic is real and it flows through their veins. I had fully planned the entire school and island map, curriculum, uniform, timetable, rules, phone policy, menu... you name it, i'd thought of it. All plans for this flew out the window as I discovered more about the controversies of our delightful author. But recently I've been thinking, what if I made my own story. It would take minimal editing to adapt the plan to be a unique universe, as it was already reasonably removed from canon in the first place. This story would 100% be queerpositive, as a queer teen author. I just wondered-- how many people would be interested in reading this? If you'd read my story, please reblog or reply and spread the word. Alright imma head back to the planning docs!

Aro enough

To the older people who have not yet found out who they love, or in which way. It is okay to struggle, that does not make you fake, nor makes the experiences you had useless. There is no age at which you have to have found out who you are. And there is also no age where your orientation has to be turned to stone. For some people this is an everchanging process of a grande scale. As long as we live, we can and do change. Change is what we are, there is no need to be ashamed.
