There is no obvious path between today’s machine learning models — which mimic human creativity by predicting the next word, sound, or pixel — and an AI that can form a hostile intent or circumvent our every effort to contain it. Regardless, it is fair to ask why Dr. Frankenstein is holding the pitchfork. Why is it that the people building, deploying, and profiting from AI are the ones leading the call to focus public attention on its existential risk? Well, I can see at least two possible reasons. The first is that it requires far less sacrifice on their part to call attention to a hypothetical threat than to address the more immediate harms and costs that AI is already imposing on society. Today’s AI is plagued by error and replete with bias. It makes up facts and reproduces discriminatory heuristics. It empowers both government and consumer surveillance. AI is displacing labor and exacerbating income and wealth inequality. It poses an enormous and escalating threat to the environment, consuming an enormous and growing amount of energy and fueling a race to extract materials from a beleaguered Earth. These societal costs aren’t easily absorbed. Mitigating them requires a significant commitment of personnel and other resources, which doesn’t make shareholders happy — and which is why the market recently rewarded tech companies for laying off many members of their privacy, security, or ethics teams. How much easier would life be for AI companies if the public instead fixated on speculative theories about far-off threats that may or may not actually bear out? What would action to “mitigate the risk of extinction” even look like? I submit that it would consist of vague whitepapers, series of workshops led by speculative philosophers, and donations to computer science labs that are willing to speak the language of longtermism. This would be a pittance, compared with the effort required to reverse what AI is already doing to displace labor, exacerbate inequality, and accelerate environmental degradation. A second reason the AI community might be motivated to cast the technology as posing an existential risk could be, ironically, to reinforce the idea that AI has enormous potential. Convincing the public that AI is so powerful that it could end human existence would be a pretty effective way for AI scientists to make the case that what they are working on is important. Doomsaying is great marketing. The long-term fear may be that AI will threaten humanity, but the near-term fear, for anyone who doesn’t incorporate AI into their business, agency, or classroom, is that they will be left behind. The same goes for national policy: If AI poses existential risks, U.S. policymakers might say, we better not let China beat us to it for lack of investment or overregulation. (It is telling that Sam Altman — the CEO of OpenAI and a signatory of the Center for AI Safety statement — warned the E.U. that his company will pull out of Europe if regulations become too burdensome.)

imagine mechanic!simon fixin’ your car with parts that worth thousands but he doesn’t want your money, he wants something else HEHEHEHEHEHE
HEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHE right??????? Genius honestly.
mechanic!Simon would do anything for you :( but only when you obey him, be an obedient and listen..... he was doing you a favour by fucking you on top of your broken down shit box while the lads were on their lunch break, he saw how worked up and stressed you were, and you had the audacity to disobey him??? You want to get your car fixed free of charge? well, now you get nothing and he gets to take you however he wants, your job is to stand there and shut up like the good girl his training you to be ;)
Tumblr media
TW: low-key public sex, thigh-fucking, orgasms denial, Si degrades you for being a needy, disobedient girl :( kinda humiliation, mean!Simon, age gap insinuated, Si shoves a dirty rage covered in grease in your mouth bc you won't stfu :(
Mechanic!Simon masterlist
Regular masterlist
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You really aren’t well off, the savings you did have are definitely not accessible at the moment.
Your shitty ex had logged into your bank account the second he threw you out :( making sure you had nothing
He would always make you transfer him money for his crypto trading, he did it behind your back regularly meaning he new all of your information including your security passwords >:(
He had drained everything except £2.50 because “that’s all your worth” :((((((((
he was such a dick AHURGG >:(
Like Si promised, he checked out your car the next morning, taking you into the shop even though it was his day off.
Of course Johnny jumped at the opportunity to introduce himself, taking your hand and kissing it softly, wicked smile flashing across his face when he didn’t see a boyfriend accompanying you to the shop. :(((
An easy target in his eyes, you being with Si didn’t even cross his mind, a pretty, delicate thing like you wouldn’t be running around with a beast like Simon….it just didn’t make sense :(
Si stepping in almost immediately when he saw the way Gaz winked at you and licked his teeth, eyeing you up and down like a piece of meat :(
You were HIS….HE found you, nobody else, and that’s how its gonna stay >:(
Maybe a bit of insecurity flared up as well….they were younger then him, more your age….
Johnny was a ball of energy, looked like he could be plastered on the front of some health and fitness magazine and Gaz had a certain charm to him, the type that could make even the most independent women fall to their knees.
They couldn’t be more different to Si’s rough and grumpy demeanour :((((
But the second you clung to his side, quickly turning your face away from them, flushed red and overwhelmed, it all went away :3
His, he didn’t even have to tell you, you clung to him instinctively, ran to him for protection, looked for him when you needed safety ;)))
He wanted nothing more then to take you right there, show them both how he could make you cum in ways they couldn’t, even if they had the best vibrater in the world on their side, they couldn’t give you the satisfaction he could :3
Watch the jealousy and envy in their faces as he praised you for being such a good girl, his good girl :)))
He didn’t have to look at your car to know that it was absolutely rooted, a first week apprentice could see that it would cost thousands of pounds to fix, even then, you wouldn’t be getting the best parts on the market meaning it was only a matter of time before it broke down again and became undriveable :(
Quickly slamming the hood he turns to you with a sympathetic look :(
“Listen lovie, its gonna be at least £2000, and that’s jus’ for ya’ engine alone, I don’ even wanna get inta the rest of it cuz fixin’ it is gonna cost more then the car itself”
With teary eyes you tell him you can’t afford to fix it, let alone buy a new car, its the only real possession you have to your name other then your phone and clothes :((((
You needed a car, you needed a way to get to work and its not like you can afford to take the bus!!!
But don’t worry sweet girl, Si’s gonna make it all better :((
Slowly he lifts you onto the hood and slides his hands up your thighs with a rough groan, that tiny little skirt that he picked out for you this morning was a really good idea ;)
Moving your panties to the side, he drags his thick finger through your folds, a low chuckle leaving his lips as he collects your juices :3
Your cheeks go red at how wet you are :((((( you’re so easy to get going, such a dirty, dirty girl >:(
“Don’ play dumb sweethear’, saw ya’ watchin’ me like a piece of meat, rubbin’ those thighs together like a whore, I know when ma’ girl needs some lovin’”
Pushing his thick fingers into your heat, a small whimper leaving your mouth from the stretch :(
“Quite love, don’t want em’ to hear us do ya’?” A chuckle falling from his lips as he opens you up more, spreading you open and preparing you for another one of his big rough fingers :(((((
Pumping in and out of your wet cunt at an agonisingly slow pace, holding your hips down so you can’t buck or move closer to him :(( try to take more then what his giving you :(
His the one in control, so don’t even THINK about it >:(
You let out a loud squeak when he forcefully pushes a second finger into your tight pussy :((( wet squelching sounds fill the room :(((
The same men staring at you like a piece of meat only moments ago, eating their lunch in the break room at the other end of the shop, completely unaware that Si was having his way with you :(((
Stimulating your clit with his left hand, he looks up at you with a wicked smile
“Don’t ya’ make a noise love, old Johnny boy won’t have a problem watchin’ and im sure ya’ don’t want tha’” >:(
His such a tease :(((((
Begging him for his dick, moans and whimpers getting louder as you squirm with teary eyes :(((
But that’s your biggest mistake…..
You went against his orders, he told you not to make any noises, to keep it down, but because you’re a little brat, disrespectful after all his given you, food, a roof over your head, a warm bed, a man to protect you….you’re getting nothing >:(
“My cock Darlin’? Oh no, no, no, no. Ya’ see lovie, good girls get what they want, obedient girls get treated right, not selfish little sluts that can't do what they’re fuckin’ told”
Removing his fingers from you, he undoes his belt and takes out his stiff cock :(((((
Its so leaky, pre cum dripping down his shaft, Si pumps himself a couple times, a low groan falling from his lips as he forcefully turns you around slamming your body against the car
“Imma tell ya’ what ya’ gettin, I’m gonna fuck your thighs for my pleasure, not yours, and ya’ gonna shut up and take it, no squirmin’ or moanin’, ya’ just gonna stand here and take it”
Taking a dirty rag out of his back pocket that he uses to wipe his greasy hands, he slaps your cheek signalling to open your mouth, shoving the dirty fabric inbetween your lips with a sadistic chuckle
“There ya’ go petal, much better isn’t it? Finally listenin’”
His thrust between your thighs, the feeling of pre cum coating your pussy is satisfying, but it didn’t scratch the itch of what being filled by his girthy cock did :((((
Your moans fall silent against the dirty rag he shoved in your mouth, the only sound filling the shop being his low grunts and skin slapping against skin :((
His hard cock rubbing against your clit giving you little satisfaction, Si was so mean sometimes, but he was right, his always right :((((
He did so much for you and the very least you could do was follow his orders, you got to comfortable :((( trying to take charge and disobey him when he knows best, he always knows best >:(
You can tell his getting closer, his thrusts get sloppier and his quite grunts tern more strained :3
After a few more deep thrust between your wet and sloppy thighs the feeling of his hot ropes cover your pussy and drip down your inner thighs :(((
He didn’t even try and make you cum :( greedy girls don’t get pleasure, they’re used as fuck toys, walking fleashlights that don’t deserve orgasms :((
And you know his just doing what’s best for you, teaching you the hard way, the only way you would properly learn :((
He makes you walk past the break room and out of the shop with his sperm running down your legs, wet thighs sticking together making you uncomfortable as you take each step, hot, flushed and unsatisfied :(
Once you get back into his car he makes a call to a friend that owns a car dealership. Si has done so much for his mate, the least he can do is hand over a car, and that’s exactly what he does :3
Whatever his angel wants, his angel gets, unless she misbehaves :((((
Your orgasm is just going to have to wait till another time…..and don’t you even think about touching yourself……remember, obedient girls get to cum, not dirty, dirty sluts that don’t follow the rules <3
Tumblr media
The thing about mechanic!Simon is that his not taking your shit, he has no time for your attitude and will put you in your place immediately :( his training you to be his pretty little house wife after all :3

An actual question which is pretty popular in the Splatoon fandom, how do you think lings wash themselves? Keep themselves clean. Canonically it is stated that water affects them.
Well I actually think I got a pretty good idea of this one !
I've made a little illustrated guide which pretty much summarizes it all, but here is my thought process beneath it anyways. (Long post buckle up)
Tumblr media
So, while it's true that in my mind their ink is already taking care of most of their dirt, one can only swim into their own body fluids before it starts to reek. Especially while being a(n ink)fish. Besides, enemy ink inevitably creates irritations if not properly cleaned off at least once or twice a day. (Off The Hook advises to clean your tentacles thoroughly after a match canonically.)
Now about the water issue, the main thing to keep in mind is that it's mentioned it dissolves Inkfish, sure, but only if they are submerged in it (because ink is less dense that water). So I think that they can take water drops, although it's also mentioned (in a game dev interview) that their skin actually breaks really easily.
But they CAN clean themselves nevertheless ; they just have to follow a few rules.
-----------
Absolutely NO BATHS.
Showers only, but put on the lightest drop setting, to the point the water feels more like drizzle (the type of rain they endure the best), just enough to get them moist and allow them to get themselves clean.
(There are specially designed shower heads on the marketplace for that, although it's the norm to have a shower with multiple options. It's recommended to always test the shower when looking for a new place, and use a portable spawner for the first times to be extra secure. Also, check your water pressure before going for a shower.)
Be gentle with your skin and tentacles while cleaning. Use foamy soaps, preferably, and soft sponges. If you're too rough, you might break the skin.
Only run the water to get yourself moisturized, then to wash the soaps. Not any more than needed.
At any time, if it starts to sting, or you feel weak, cut the water and take a break. Listen to your body.
If you don't have the time to take a shower, if you're not feeling like it or simply don't have a shower, there are always specialized body wipes available anywhere in stores. Fitting different kinds of skins & tentacles, with various perfumes, they are ideal to be used between Turf Wars or for a quick groom on the go. You can even clean yourself integraly this way if you wish, but please if you must do that in public, do so in Swim Form. Be decent.
(However, keep in mind the body wipes may be somewhat cheap and required to be at least recyclable, and also a huge market/job source, they still represent a budget, and important waste. Avoid resorting to these only. Water is in most places paid for by the community.)
In any way, do not neglect your hygiene. Else you may develop irritations, itching, dry & crusty tentacles (especially in choppy tentacuts), infections if nontreated injuries, and of course bad odor, which gets pretty bad as you count as a fish. All of these can get you mocked of and ostracized, as Freshness comes from having your turf and yourself figured out and taken well care of (we like to show that off), and unlike you may think- YOUR PEERS NOTICE.
And, of course, always brush your beak and scrub your tongue at least twice a day. Bad hygiene within the beak is the least tolerable, squiddos <3
-----------
And so yeah, those are their golden rules when it comes to hygiene. As you can see, I might have gotten a little overboard with it, but I wanted to make it feel like a legit cleaning guide, as I suspect that's something that is taught thoroughly to young Inkfish.
They have various illustrated child books/notices about cleaning safety, and probably have at least one mandatory class about that when they're in elementary school or younger. Being fresh 'n shiny is pretty important, and they are taught to take care of their turf/living space and of themselves, because they need that so they can then properly show off. So they are taught how to do it properly and safely early on, and they're not kidding about that.
I mean in a social system where the store managers can straight up refuse to serve you if you're deemed not fresh enough, you've got to be a little serious when it comes to your personal figure.
Alright, I hope you enjoyed my explanation ! I had a lot of with it~ :))
(Also before I go, I just wanna add a filter I made of this same guide, to make it look like a poorly taken scientific report picture like in a Sunken Scroll, 'cause I thought it was Sunken Scroll material. Enjoy.)

Everyone knows me at the dump. I don’t mean this in a bragging sort of way. In fact, I hate this fact. The reason why everyone knows me at the dump is that Mr. Jones, the dump operator, has posted the CCTV footage and blurry cell-phone camera pictures of my face on the break room wall. Even the youngest probie at the dump will look at me, every morning, while they wait for the coffee machine to dispense their mandatory cup of black joy.
You can probably guess why this has happened to me. I love junk, and the dump has a lot of that junk. To me, it is offensive that the dump hoards that junk. They keep it from me, using excuses like “sanitation” and “safety,” but safety is my middle name. If they would just give me a chance, then I would be the best they’ve ever seen. I’d even remove and sort the little lithium-ion vape batteries that haven’t exploded yet, out of gratitude.
Of course, we both know why I’m digging through trash at the dump. I don’t want old Betamax VCRs, or mouldy cardboard boxes heralding products from a bygone era. Well, I do, but I don’t want them more than I want a two-stroke dirt bike, and I’ve seen tons of those over the years get callously tossed into the debris pile by the great unwashed. They’re always getting thrown out for little reasons, like “carb jet plugged,” or “caught on fire,” or “couldn’t get anyone to buy it on Craigslist for septuple the market value so I threw it away out of spite.” I could save these bikes, and to be not allowed to save them is literal torture.
Just like anyone else would in my shoes, I started wearing elaborate disguises to the dump. Sometimes I could loot one, and throw it into the back of my car, and be gone before the dump operators (there weren’t even security guards yet, back then) could catch up to me. I had enough disguises – and enough cars – that I could pull this off for a little while. Then, used cars got really expensive, and the folks in my neighbourhood started using security fasteners to hold on their license plates. I started to escape by tighter and tighter scrapes, until one fateful day.
That bastard Jones figured me out. He came from Chicago, of all places, a city which I’m pretty sure doesn’t even have a dump. And he knew my kind. He set a trap: an agonizingly pristine, 1989 Yamaha XT225. Sure, it was a four-stroke, but it was still love at first sight. It was planted right on top of one of the big piles of disposable diapers, visible even from the highway. Even knowing it was a trap, I made plans for months to grab it.
The joke’s on him, though. I’ve started my own private dump, and I’ve paid the government to start outsourcing dump operations to me. We’re an extremely efficient operation, much more affordable for the taxpayer than the wasteful public dump. How so, you ask? Well, we are much more selective with what waste we accept, and we wrote one helluva contract, which had a bunch of big words that confused the gin-addled politicos that signed it out of desperation to meet their “lower taxes” pledge.
Here’s how it works. We charge the city hundreds of thousands of dollars a month, and we get first pick of any internal combustion engines that are in the back of the garbage trucks. Everything else goes down the road to the regular dump. We’re making a fortune. If we keep putting out numbers like this, I’m sure there will soon be layoffs over at Jones’ shithole. Hell, maybe I’ll even hire him to manage security around these parts. Can’t have anyone walking off with my good trash.

@rex-and-regina
1) marat did not encourage "murder of innocent civilians" in l'ami du peuple. while he did sometimes use violent rhetoric (like in the "five hundred heads" quote that people love to throw around with no context), that was pretty much the norm for political journals at the time. they were sensational and emotional and dramatic and hyperbolic. that was pretty much the stylistic standard. if you compare marat's paper with, say, hebert's or even desmoulins's, you'll find he's actually pretty academic and straightforward for the era.
2) if you try to counter my first point with "but the september massacres", you need to know that marat was not directly responsible for those either. the narrative that he caused it stems from the fact that he put out an issue of his paper a little while before the massacres that said some stuff about taking up arms to defend the homeland from conspirators and traitors, etc. etc. except, y'know, a bunch of people were saying stuff like that in their papers (see above). it's true that he didn't explicitly condemn the massacres, but nobody in the government really wanted to talk about it because of how messy of a situation it was. someone else even said something like "we will draw the curtain over this event and leave its judgement to posterity".
3) robespierre.... did not cause the "reign of terror". in fact they did not even call it the reign of terror at the time (historians came up with that later). actually, if we want to get pedantic, the term terreur had a very different connotation in the 18th century than it does now, but I digress. robespierre was the subject of a massive smear campaign when his coworkers realized they couldn't make him shut up about various crimes that they were involved in and killed him to keep him from airing out their dirty laundry. they also killed a bunch of his political allies because they couldn't have them exonerating him, could they? look it up it's actually wild. so they blamed him for all the issues that the government had, even the ones he was trying to fix (he opposed the shitshow in lyons and nantes, cautioned against needless bloodshed, abhorred the practice of treating executions as a spectacle). also he didn't actually have nearly as much power as people seem to think now. he was a member of the national convention (the french republic's elected legislative body), and a member of the committee of public safety (a council elected from members of the convention to deal with the escalating war situation and some other stuff). he was not the leader of the CSP (which did not have a leader) or the convention (which had a presidency that was mostly ceremonial and worked on a rotating basis). he also never sentenced anyone to death because it was the tribunals that did that, not the convention or CSP.
4) the time period that is generally considered the "reign of terror" (as flawed a concept as that is) is usually placed after the assassination of marat. because a big reason for the paranoia that led to the escalation of security measures was the fact that marat was killed. marat was seen as kind of unkillable by the people of paris (won his own political show trial, etc.) so if you could kill marat, you could kill anyone. so it's kind of hard to say what marat would've supported or not supported after he died, especially since his death itself heavily influenced the next stage of the revolution.
5) charlotte corday wasn't even a monarchist. she was aligned with the girondins, who were moderate republicans in favor of the free market. she didn't like marat because marat was calling the girondins corrupt in his newspaper after a prominent girondin official turned traitor and deserted to the austrians (whom france was at war with). not entirely sure what she thought she would accomplish with this, because a great way to make your political faction seem really corrupt is to brutally murder a guy for criticizing it.
6) a bunch of people actually tried to stop marat through various means, legal and illegal. namely lafayette and brissot and capet and barbaroux and necker and... you get the picture. charlotte corday was just the one that succeeded.
a final point: why do you criticize marat for "encouraging" (but never committing) murder while you simultaneously praise corday for committing a literal actual murder? only one of the three people (marat, robespierre, corday) you mentioned actually killed anybody, and it wasn't marat or robespierre.

4th house through the signs
ARIES:You're someone who values their independence and enjoys taking initiative in your life. Your home is a hub of activity for your family, and you probably love playing games that require skill and bravery. While disagreements among younger family members may be common, you're often the one who coordinates family activities and assigns tasks as needed. Just be careful not to become too controlling or domineering in your household! In your childhood, you may have felt stifled or embarrassed by a particular authority figure in your household, especially your father. You might have also had a few accidents or mishaps around your home, so it's always good to take precautions to ensure everyone's safety. Even though you lead a busy and active life, it's important to stay mindful of taking care of yourself, too. You have a lot of energy and stamina to manage your family and household responsibilities, and you're likely to take on a leadership role in family matters. However, it's important to also be open to compromise and listening to your family's needs and desires. As you get older, you might even start to feel more youthful, active, and playful! Occasionally, you may find yourself in disagreements with your family or household members, but it's important to remember to keep an open mind and be respectful of their opinions. Perhaps you were encouraged by a strong and determined mother to pursue your dreams, and this has given you a bold and outspoken personality. If you're interested in pursuing a career in the military, navy, or air force, you might find that your combat instinct and desire for adventure are a perfect fit for those fields. Maybe you'll even find that a family member shares some of your life experiences or personality traits!
TAURUS:You are a wonderful and nurturing member of your family who cherishes family traditions and the comforts of home. Your warm and inviting personality makes you a beloved and reliable family member. You take pride in creating a cozy and comfortable environment that reflects your earthy and sensual nature, which your loved ones truly appreciate. Music plays a special role in your family life, and you love to share your passion for it with your family members. Your childhood memories are filled with love and joy, and you strive to create the same atmosphere for your own family. A peaceful and harmonious home is of utmost importance to you, and you enjoy expressing your creativity through home decor. You value the safety and security of your family and prefer to live in a spacious environment where you can connect with nature. As you grow older, you appreciate tranquility and relaxation even more. Your natural intuition for financial and real estate matters is a valuable asset to your family, and you have a keen interest in accumulating wealth and valuable possessions for your loved ones. It's possible that this trait has been passed down through generations of your family who were involved in banking, local markets, or political movements. You're proud to continue this legacy and provide for your family in the best way possible.
GEMINI:You have a sense of adventure and a desire to explore new places, which means you're not overly attached to your current home and are open to the idea of moving somewhere better suited to your needs. While you enjoy being around people, you also appreciate your alone time and may not feel the need to establish long-term relationships or a strong foundation in one particular place. As you get older, you may find that your ideas and thoughts become clearer, and you feel a greater urge to share them with others through writing or other forms of communication. Your natural talents for writing or public speaking may have been inherited from a family member, and you may physically resemble them in some way. You enjoy discussing ideas with your family and staying connected through technology, but you also have a love for exploring new places and experiences. While forming deep connections with family may be a challenge for you, your sharp mind and intellectual pursuits will keep you active and engaged throughout your life. You have a thirst for knowledge and mental stimulation, and you may find yourself drawn to hobbies or professions that allow you to communicate your ideas with others. Whether you're traveling to new destinations or pursuing your intellectual interests, you're always eager to learn and grow.
CANCER:Family is everything to you! You've always felt a strong connection to your loved ones and cherish your family traditions. Your childhood home was your safe haven, and you continue to seek out that sense of security and comfort in your life. You value introspection and taking the time to connect with your feelings and needs, as well as those of others. You have a sensitive side that you don't always show to the world, but you let it shine through in the caring and nurturing way you treat your loved ones. However, it's important to you that others understand and respect your emotional journey. Any insensitivity, even if unintended, can cause you to retreat even further into yourself. You're sensitive and vulnerable, and people have always felt the need to protect you. But that doesn't mean you're not capable of taking care of others too! You have a sentimental side when it comes to your family and home life, and you take your responsibilities seriously. You might even take on a leadership role in caring for your parents, which is a testament to your loving nature. Your maternal instincts may come into play, and you might find yourself drawn to activities that involve caring for children, whether it's working with kids' charities, enjoying children's entertainment, or even becoming a full-time parent. Ownership is important to you, but not in a materialistic way. You value the things that bring you and your loved ones joy and comfort, and you protect those things with all your heart.
LEO:Your home and family are very important to you, and you take great pride in them. You love creating a warm and welcoming environment for your loved ones and enjoy hosting fun and extravagant parties. Owning your own land would give you a great sense of satisfaction and increase your self-confidence. You may have inherited your love for children and leadership skills from a family member who was a teacher or mentor, and you take great pleasure in being the decision maker in your family. At home, you feel comfortable and able to express your true self. It's your own private sanctuary where you can be yourself without any judgment. However, when you feel undervalued or ignored, it can be a bit challenging for you, and you may become demanding or self-absorbed. You have a unique and engaging personality that draws people to you, and you love entertaining others. You have a strong sense of who you are and are a natural leader. You have an excellent ability to form deep connections with people who treat you like family. You value being a positive influence in others' lives and enjoy empowering and supporting your loved ones. Being in touch with your roots and heritage is important to you, and you cherish your family connections.
VIRGO:Keeping things clean and organized is important to you, both in your home and family life. You take pride in maintaining a sense of order and structure, which can sometimes make you seem demanding to others. However, you have a big heart and enjoy helping others, especially those closest to you. You are a reliable and dependable person, and you often take on the role of assistant to those around you. While this can sometimes be overwhelming, you find joy in being able to support and assist others in their growth and development. However, it's important to remember that it's okay to set boundaries and prioritize your own needs as well. Your attention to detail and work ethic serve you well in both your personal and professional life. You have a strong analytical mind and enjoy engaging in stimulating debates and discussions. You have a variety of interests, including research, medicine, chemistry, and food and hygiene sectors. While you can be particular about things and have a tendency towards perfectionism, it's important to remember to take a step back and not get too caught up in the details. You have a lot of potential and with age, you'll become more grounded and confident in your abilities. Your family has a strong connection to health and wellness, which has influenced your interest in work ethic and dedication to personal growth. You may have family members who have worked in medical, fitness, or athletic fields, or who have dealt with health concerns themselves. Regardless of the specifics, your family values hard work and perseverance, and this has likely influenced your own values and beliefs.
LIBRA:You're all about that peaceful and harmonious family life, and you appreciate having a beautifully designed home. You have a natural talent for being the mediator within your family. When it comes to recharging and reflecting, you find solace in genuine connections with others. You're not one to retreat to your safe space alone; you feel more secure when you're with someone else. That's why your home needs to be a place where you can foster meaningful relationships. Your self-image is closely tied to your family dynamics, so living alone or with unpleasant and selfish individuals can be super uncomfortable and stressful. You crave a peaceful and loving environment to truly feel at ease. As a child, you always played the role of the peacemaker who wanted everyone to get along and love each other. Your family members rely on you to maintain that sense of peace and collaboration. You bring this loving and adaptable self to the people who become your family. Being well-liked and likable is a crucial part of your personal foundation. When you tap into these charming social skills, you remember who you are and where you come from. Your earliest years at home were filled with happiness, comfort, and loving care. You have a deep need for roots and a desire to own your home and possessions outright because they contribute to your emotional well-being. On the outside, you may appear calm and quiet, but inside, you often experience restlessness and indecisiveness until you find your grounding in life. Your home is the center of your universe, and you strive to make it an inviting space filled with lovely individuals. You've inherited a family narrative that revolves around love and conflict. This could mean that a notable marriage or partnership of an ancestor or close relative had a significant impact on your family's dynamics.
SCORPIO:When it comes to family and home, you've got some strong opinions. It's like there's a secret code surrounding certain family matters, and you keep them locked away and highly private. You have a deep loyalty and protective instinct towards your family members. If it's important, you don't waste any time defending them. In return, you expect the same level of respect and loyalty from your family. A parent of the opposite sex had a big influence on you while growing up. In your ideal home, you seek a sense of grandeur, majesty, and personal space. Even if you weren't born into it, there's a good chance you'll live a life of luxury later on. Power and money, sex and money, and even death and money are recurring themes within your family. Perhaps your ancestors had some fascinating stories to tell. It's often the story of a couple who worked together in business and ended up mixing their sex lives with their money affairs. There's usually one relative who encapsulates this theme more than anyone else in your life. It's possible that you inherited certain physical traits from a direct ancestor who carried the Scorpio family gene. Your personal drive for sex and money, power and money, and the theme of death and money (like inherited property) continue the family traits. You have intense emotions when it comes to your family and home. Your childhood might have been filled with strong emotions within your household. As a result, as an adult, you tend to be secretive about your own life and home.Sometimes, your little sanctuary can feel quite intense, but that's exactly what you enjoy about it. You find comfort in an atmosphere that is passionate and transformative, even if it means some discomfort. Your self-image is passionate and perceptive, and you desire deep personal connections with the people you live with. Behind closed doors, you're able to delve into powerful emotions and genuine sexuality. Lukewarm or superficial experiences no longer satisfy you.
SAGITTARIUS:You have a strong urge to take control and guide your family's affairs. The 4th house of your horoscope is influenced by Jupiter, the planet of optimism and expansion. This planetary energy often correlates with a desire for a comfortable and prosperous home environment. You feel a deep sense of responsibility towards your family and hold the family unit in high regard within society. From an early age, you have a strong moral compass, and as you grow older, both materially and spiritually, you are likely to become wealthier. Travel, both physical and mental, is a recurring theme inherited from your family. You have a lifelong thirst for knowledge and continuously seek to expand your understanding through books, classes, courses, and workshops. Depending on your birth circumstances, you may find yourself exploring your family tree, engaging in global academia, or even trading international commodities while learning a second language. In your own life, you will carry this astrological DNA by connecting with people worldwide online, exchanging ideas, and embarking on bold adventures. You might even find yourself leaving your home country. You enjoy discussing your life philosophies with your family and may have traveled extensively with them during your childhood. Your home tends to be spacious, and you value the freedom to explore and be adventurous whenever you return. Your private life is characterized by keeping your options open and embracing the possibilities that lie ahead. Returning to your secure haven allows you to contemplate all the potential adventures awaiting you. Thus, you don't always feel the need to stay put when you're at home, and you have a natural ability to adapt wherever you go. Your self-image has a touch of the gypsy spirit, and you feel uncomfortable when tied down or confined to one place.
CAPRICORN:So, family means a lot to you. You're a reliable and down-to-earth member of your clan. As a kid, you might have felt a bit suffocated by your family's expectations, but now as an adult, you've become the go-to person for everyone. Going home can be a bit of a mixed bag because, well, it means more work for you. But you feel most comfortable in a private, well-organized, and sturdy environment. It's like your safe haven. In your personal life, you've got to put in some hard work. And behind closed doors, that can sometimes lead to major challenges and burdens. It's not always easy to keep a positive self-image, and you might feel agitated, anxious, or even down. But guess what? You find solace at home, being a strong and dependable leader. When you trust in your own reliability and perseverance, you'll have the sense of security you need. You never really had a chance to be a carefree child because you were always expected to be the mature one, the one in charge. You're the glue that holds your family together, and while it can be exhausting, you put in a lot of effort and attention into that role. So, when you treat someone like family, you want to be their rock. You've built a solid foundation of perseverance and self-discipline. And when someone needs you, you're always there for them, especially when things go wrong. Responsibility is a big thing in your home life. Security is a top priority for you. You're probably quite particular about how your home is run, wanting everything to be well-organized and precisely arranged. You've got a practical, no-nonsense approach to your home. You're a strict disciplinarian with a strong sense of ethics and traditional values. You're also actively involved in your community and never shy away from taking on responsibilities.
AQUARIUS:When it comes to domestic matters, you've got an insatiable craving for freedom. You're too mighty to be confined solely to family and home affairs. But here's the deal: this placement can bring about some internal conflicts. You'll probably find yourself changing addresses frequently, and the thought of having to move again makes you cringe. Your surroundings are anything but ordinary—they're unique and extraordinary. You've got a bunch of wild and innovative ideas and you want to incorporate the latest technological advancements into your daily life. You were born into a family where one member had quite the reputation for their involvement in the community. They could have been part of an orchestra, a football team, a political party, or a charitable organization. This influential family member might have belonged to multiple groups, societies, or organizations and really made their mark. And since one of your parents carries that astrological "gene" in their horoscope, you've inherited some of that family resemblance and might even be a new generation of it. Perhaps you've got a humanitarian-minded family member who values being part of the larger human "family" more than your own bloodline. That person valued friendship over familial ties. And guess what? You've got some astrological DNA in one or more groups in your own life. Your family life is far from calm and predictable—it's filled with hustle and bustle, and chaos can be a regular occurrence. There might have been disruptions during your childhood that added to the unpredictable nature of your home life. Finding your safe haven is like embarking on a wild and chaotic adventure.
PISCES:You've got this idealized vision of your family. It's like you don't see them for who they truly are. Maybe during your childhood, one of your parents was absent, sick, or struggling with addiction. But as an adult, you tend to remember only the good times. It's like you're trying to recreate a picture-perfect family life. You find solace in a safe and imaginative haven, and you need plenty of alone time to reflect and contemplate. Going back home is a special experience for you. But when you're not being a hermit, you're actually a super sensitive and forgiving person in your personal relationships. Just remember not to lose yourself in other people's stuff. What bothers or upsets them might easily bother or upset you too. You've always played a chameleon-like role in your family, adapting to whoever and whatever is needed. Because you're so open-minded, your family has projected a lot onto you, sometimes unfairly. They see you in many ways, but they don't really know you as well as they think. Your emotional connection to your home is incredibly strong. You deeply care about your family and are willing to go to great lengths for them. Privacy and tranquility at home are crucial for you. You value the sanctuary of your home and use it as a retreat. You're concerned about your home and the environment in general. You long for the perfect conditions in your surroundings. You're searching for a place to call home, where you can escape from the everyday stresses of life. There might have been a mysterious and elusive family member who had a significant influence on you. They could be someone from your family's history, someone hard to get to know. It's possible they had ties to the navy, were a sailor, or simply loved surfing or fishing. Their enigmatic nature added to their aloofness.

If Ugandans have a social safety net, it is woven from banana fibers, and if there is a clear path to socialism, it will be lined with banana leaves. The lusuku model, premised on intercropping and smallholder farming, could be the basis for national agrarian reform that improves the lives of Uganda’s agricultural workers without accelerating the destruction of the natural environment. Uganda faces increasing difficulty feeding itself because of climate extremes and land degradation, and this affects farmers more significantly than anyone else. Moreover, since the 1990s, the ruling National Resistance Movement regime sold off and dismantled most of the coffee, tea, and cotton growers cooperatives, leaving smallholder farmers in the hands of the predatory middlemen which cooperatives had been established to protect them against. Unable to collectively bargain and exposed to dramatic fluctuations in the market prices for cash crops, many people left rural areas to search for employment in cities. This has been a driving force behind the massive inequality between rural and urban workers. Ugandans now produce more food than they consume, even exporting to other countries in the region, yet 41% of people are undernourished, and agricultural production has decreased over the last 20 years. For the most part, the strategy pursued by Uganda’s government has been to encourage the development of ecologically disastrous intensive agriculture for export, privileging foreign investors rather than developing the infrastructure that would benefit peasants. Indeed, while more than 70% of Ugandans are employed in agriculture, the sector only receives around 4% of public investment, and projects aimed at helping smallholder farmers have had very little success, even by their own standards. Many of the government’s investments in agriculture very clearly advantage larger landowners, to the detriment of the poorest farmers. For example, most of the government’s investment in labor-saving technologies has been spent on tractors, which are great for large plots but largely unaffordable or unsuitable for the average farmer, whose plot is usually between 1-3 acres large. However, a socialist transition premised on agroecological reforms could make use of the existing lusuku model to create the kind of growth that actually improves poor farmers’ lives without destroying their environment. This could begin with reestablishing cooperatives and engineering agricultural prices around social needs and goals, like guaranteeing access to food. Research from around the world has shown that while large, monocrop plantations are good at producing huge volumes of one crop, smallholder farms are more productive when evaluated on a per-unit area and are capable of securing national food sovereignty. Why, for example, should Ugandans buy rice imported from Pakistan or Vietnam when banana intercropping yields more calories per hectare than rice? Lusukus could feed the nation without relying on foreign experts, development aid, or the capital-intensive inputs now being imported to grow for export. Because lusukus are far better for the soil, they also improve the nation’s capacity to resist severe floods and drought, effects of climate change that hit poor farmers hardest. In these ways, the lusuku model could provide a sustainable path to socialist development.
