Read The Signs
Understanding that enlightenment is within our reach we shall seek and find the knowledge and inspiration necessary to uplift, support and enhance our collective journeys as well as our own personal paths.
It’s important to not only read, but also pay attention to and obey the signs. Just like some you may encounter along the road, not doing so can affect our travels.. A few examples include, “Rocks Falling”, “Deer Crossing”, “Slippery When Wet” or even “It’ll Do Road”.  While not a discussion of traffic regulations, in a sense we are undertaking a study of some of the rules of the road. At least…

PROVERBS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 27
Tuesday, 3/21/23
SCRIPTURE:
The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold,  but people are tested by their praise.   ~ Proverbs 27:21
OBSERVATION:
The crucible and the furnace purify by burning off the impurities and revealing the true quality of the metal being tested...
What - W/who I praise reveals what is at the heart of my heart...
Do I look for ways to praise people for my benefit?
Do I praise - brag on - myself?
How do I react when people praise me? (Honestly, I usually feel like an "imposter" - as if if they only knew how far short I've fallen or how I "faked it" to success, or how easy something that was hard for others...)
I know and acknowledge the help of others in any praise I receive...
What - Who's - praise do I seek the most?
APPLICATION:
Praise God in everything I think, do, say...
Seek to be worthy of His praise... His acknowledgement of worth...
Remember Jesus is the only reason - my only Help - in receiving the Father's praise - His "well done..."
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father - I confess to feelings of unworthiness in too many areas of my life - but especially in my walk with You... I know what You require - Your Spirit reminds or teaches me, and yet I stumble off on my own path of selfish disobedience... May I grow to give You heartfelt praise for everything attributed to me - not like the "end zone pointing to heaven", but in what I do and how I react - may others see You first in whatever is praiseworthy in what I do, and may I always give You first consideration - commitment - in whatever task is placed before me - In the way Jesus did, for Your glory, and ultimate praise and worship...
Joyfully and gratefully for Him... for you... and yours...

Words of Wisdom
14 Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice,     rising early in the morning,     will be counted as cursing. 15 A continual dripping on a rainy day     and a quarrelsome wife are alike; 16 to restrain her is to restrain the wind     or to grasp oil in one’s right hand. 17 Iron sharpens iron,     and one man sharpens another. 18 Whoever tends a fig tree will eat its fruit,     and he who…

i really like the book of proverbs because on one hand you've got your poetic musings on god and wisdom and on the other hand you've got the very practical advice of "if you loudly greet your neighbor early in the morning, he will think of it as a curse"

Proverb: Production oversight by Torey Malatia, who is holding a small locket. He is not speaking. He’d just like for you to touch the locket. His hand is twisted. His skin is forming into scales. Just touch it once. Just once, okay?

1. “David and Saul finished talking, and soon David and Jonathan became best friends. Jonathan thought as much of David as he did of himself. From that time on, Saul kept David in his service and would not let David go back to his own family. Jonathan liked David so much that they promised to always be loyal friends. Jonathan took off the robe that he was wearing and gave it to David. He also gave him his military clothes, his sword, his bow and arrows, and his belt. David was a success in everything that Saul sent him to do, and Saul made him a high officer in his army. That pleased everyone, including Saul's other officers.” —1 Samuel 18:1‭-‬5 (CEV)
2. “You are better having a friend than to be all alone, because then you will get more enjoyment out of what you earn. If you fall, your friend can help you up. But if you fall without having a friend nearby, you are really in trouble.” —Ecclesiastes 4:9‭-‬10 (CEV)
3. “As one piece of iron sharpens another, so friends keep each other sharp.” —Proverbs 27:17 (ERV)
4. “A friend is there to help, in any situation, and relatives are born to share our troubles.” —Proverbs 17:17 (CEV)
5. “Then the Lord God said, “I see that it is not good for the man to be alone. I will make the companion he needs, one just right for him.”—Genesis 2:18 (ERV)
Ever since the beginning of the Word, it has been Gods plan that we not go through life alone. Jesus Himself had His Disciples, close friends to support Him through tough times. He said, “Servants don't know what their master is doing, and so I don't speak to you as my servants. I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything my Father has told me.” (John 15:15, CEV)
A good friend is a blessing from God. Amen! 🙌
