I think if marcille opened her mind a little beyond her mild butchphobia she'd honestly find postcanon more masc-presenting Falin SO hot like... Falin travelling the world and bringing her gifts from faraway countries, climbing in through her window late at night upon return to see her before anyone else. Literally the prince of Marcille's dreams if only she could see it. She's not quite there yet but she'll get it eventually I believe in her.

in all seriousness though, kon being a character who is a clone came in at an incredibly unique time period wherein the capability of cloning a mammal, and therefore a human, were more abstract hypotheticals for a lot of people until they very suddenly weren't. when dolly the lamb was successfully cloned in 1996 there was absolutely a panic about the realities of cloning & the fear of the idea of where cloning was possibly going to go next and what did that mean for humans & what did that mean about the clones themselves and kon's narrative of exploited child star (which was more in conversation with the very public breakdowns of several 80s child stars in the 90s) was shifted to coincide with heightened public response to the very idea of cloning.
however, a lot of the fears of cloning died down over the next few years when a lot of the ethical concerns that john q. public was concerned about didn't come to pass (not that there weren't still, and aren't still ethical debates about all of that because they do very must exist, just not on the pervasive scale they did back then) and the next big thing in science was the full sequencing of the human genome. and that caused a whole *new* heightened public debate and concern over What Do Genes Really Mean. the idea that with the sequencing of the genome you could maybe actually find the genes that make someone bad or good, or find the genes that cause this or that very much brought the idea of genetic predisposition back into the forefront of people's minds & kon's narrative was then updated to reflect those concerns about the very idea of dna and genes. obviously the culture of comics writing itself has shifted & things are overbloated in a way they're not going to, hm, update old characters' struggles a ton from their status quo but if superboy was able to exist as he was back then today his story would probably written with today's concerns in mind they'd probably have more of a focus on stuff like crispr/gene editing & gut microbiota

thinking about percy in the underworld, laying down in the grass of persephone's garden and talking aloud about everything in nothing to the slowly growing shrub that was planted from a clipping of grover's "body" after he passed.
centuries and millennia go by and percy eventually stops hanging around elysium. he didn't think you could be tired as a ghost but time is endless and he is winded. his ghostly form slowly erodes away. but even as his memories fall away with every piece of him that fades off into the nether, he still walks to the garden and sits next to the giant shrub and rambles on and on.
and when the last day comes, when his ghostly form finally splits off and falls into the ground, dull and lifeless, sinking into the earth, the shrub withers away with it. leaves wilt and brown. branches crack and tumble to the ground. it happens so quickly, and all that's left are small brown twigs entwined into the few remnants of life ready to be reused and remodeled by zagreus's deft fingers

Sometimes i get so confused when i see the general asoiaf fans agree with the ‘targaryens are inhumanly beautiful, they r like a different race above everyone else’ im like babes thats their blood purism propoganda, its a lie they tell themselves and everyone else to justify their incest and position of power.
exactly. all you dumb motherfuckers are the halfwit peasants who swallowed targraryen exceptionalism propaganda hook line and sinker. me however i was the drunk failed maester at the tavern ranting about targ eugenics and valyrian ethnic supremacy and how the reptilian government is trying to brainwash you. and they silenced me! the septons (PAID FOR BY THE TARGARYENS!!) burned me at the damn stake.

So my idea was to reintroduce that story element by having the Kobra cult—sans leadership, literally a serpent with its head cut off—bio-engineer *new* twins based on cells stolen from Jason Burr and the evil Naja-Naja.
- Scott Beatty, Danny Temple's co-creator
I need danny temple and kon to meet and realise they have the same origin story

If anyone was going to figure out the Vestige's meta-physics weirdness, it'd be Azandar. He would see them jumping off of cliffs and coming back, ask how tf they do it, and then realise that they're neither mortal or daedra but a secret third thing (a humanoid blob of daedric goop with a vestige and a mortal soul). Fucker would write a whole thesis on the subject. Every time a daedra, from lowly scamp to a fucking Prince, refers to them as a mortal, Azandar would be there to 'erm actually-!' them and explain that this dipshit is only legally a mortal.
They're his dearest friend and his new special interest.

"Now, that's how I know you're lying. If Chrissy was scared, if Chrissy wanted help, she would have come to me."
This one line provides such insight into why Jason is the perfect foil to Lucas. They were placed in the same situation and handled it very differently.
Both Lucas and Jason had suicidal girlfriends who were not opening up to them, lying and pretending to be fine. Where Jason, in his grief, was more willing to kill people than come to terms with the fact that Chrissy would hide this from him, Lucas took responsibility for not being more supportive of Max.
Jason is biased and violent and rude, but the key difference between the two is that in their near-identical situation, Lucas takes responsibility and initiates change.

I’ve only taken opioids as an attempt to get high a couple of times (bad I know I was at actual rock bottom) and I know they were pure because they were my actual old prescriptions lmao but they made me feel HORRIBLE like my mental state deteriorated to hell every time I think I may be the only person on earth who has a bad time on opioids I thought it was impossible but no

It’s kinda funny-not-funny when I tell the doctors my grandma had a stroke during my medical history and they’re all like “ah yes, good to know” but not really caring until I add “she was 26” and then their faces go “oh shit” and they start asking detailed questions about what caused it and shit 😅
