Httyd and Minecraft

Hiccup:

A master at redstone. The sound of trap doors, doors, pressure plates, pistons etc. are a constant at his base.

Astrid:

Always mining for ore to upgrade her weapons and armor even though she already has a chest of netherite weapons and armor.

Tuffnut:

Is an animal farmer, mostly with chickens though. He still lives in a dirt hut.

Ruffnut:

Griefs and annoys everyone on the server. You can find “Ruffnut was here” signs everywhere.

Fishlegs:

Plays on peaceful and explores the world and makes graves and memorials for all the pets he loses on the way.

Snotlout:

Constantly gets stuck in the Nether and nobody helps him.

Dagur:

Owns an anarchy server. He only got the IP to the gang’s server cause he told Snotlout they would be BFF’s if he gave it to him. He lied.

Heather:

Kills Dagur and steals his loot before she leaves the server for like, 2 weeks.

Stoick:

“What is mine craft?”

Viggo:

Is secretly Notch.

I'm curious if, like, anyone ever did a kind of fan interpretation podcast/q&a/shenanigans thing with various collaborators

Imagine a q&a with Viggo Grimborn

But its anyone and everyone's fan interpretation of Viggo Grimborn they get to ask

They can ask specific ones, or they can ask all of them and get all their reactions + bonus if everyone decides to have the Viggos all interact about their varying responses in, like, lil skits where they comment on one's reply vs another(friendly and lighthearted, for the most part)

And you can ask em anything, sfw, nsfw, as long as whoever you're asking is comfortable with it ofc(don't be assholes and pressure someone, that ruins it and doesn't get you anywhere)

Replies would be in-character, and it doesn't have to be just writing it out- like, sometimes, if someone decides "Art response!" like they can draw out like a mini comic or just a q&a reply of one image(or even gifs!) to reply!

Ofc we can all ask a Canon Viggo Grimborn

But ngl I think itd be more fun to have this idea where everyone can like share it between each other yk? Cause, like there are soooo many different interpretations and I think itd be cool to have them able to be compared and contrasted as well as interacting with each other as well as others

Like a meet and greet, but of head canoned and fan interpreted characters, not just the Canon fellow

And there can be other characters popping in and out from time to time too! Like Krogan, or maybe Benrey from HLVRAI or Discord from MLP or whatever, and AUs too!! Its just basically a big meet and greet qna of everybody's different versions of the one character!!

TL;DR: A multiperson collaborative Q&A + Additional Scenarios concerning the character Viggo Grimborn and various writers'/artists'/roleplayers' head canons/fan interpretations where said head canoned/fan interpreted versions of the character can interact/be interacted with by other fans, AUs and other Characters and/or another version of Viggo himself.

Update on the Hiccstrid Accidental Marriage AU - we are 3.5k words in and I have decided that Gobber is an ~ambiguous parent figure~ for Hiccup, although that has yet to come to play in the fic yet.

(Also I have yet to get to Astrid's POV although I feel I must have an Astrid POV because I need to put her family into fic, and also she is Bad At Feelings and being romantic and I need to contrast Hiccup's current depressed thought spiral with something else)

I'm putting a little snippet beneath the cut:

Here’s something interesting to know about Tuffnut Thorston: When he was fourteen, he trained under the Berk village officiator. He had been going through something at the time and had been really, really insistent on finishing the course despite the poor guy’s attempts to get him to stop pestering him. Eventually, through perseverance and a stubbornness rivalled only by the fiercest Gronckle, Tuffnut had an official certificate with the signatures of the officiator, the chief and Gothi herself to say that yes, he could officiate Viking union ceremonies. Tuffnut had promptly forgotten about this, shoving the certificate into the depths of his chest, because the new dragon training class had begun and the thing that he’d been going through had kinda fizzled out until it was as forgotten as the qualification. Forgotten, that was, until today. “We’re what?” Astrid asks, already reaching for her axe as Tuffnut recalled that little slip of paper and the despair on Halbjorn’s face. “Yeah, it’s all coming back to me now,” he says, apparently unfussed about his imminent demise at the edge of Astrid’s axe. “Yeah we had lessons for months. Halbjorn was weirdly opposed – I think he jumped off a cliff at one point – but I got that certificate anyway!” “Chief said we had to give him a sheep in recompense,” Ruffnut adds, nodding along to her brother’s story. Hiccup can already feel the despair setting in as Snotlout starts to laugh uncontrollably. He and Astrid were, by the law of Vikings and of Valhalla, married.

HELLO AGAIN I'm glad to see you got my ask (it was important to me that you knew how much I ADORE this au) but now I've just gone back through the tag, I have some questions, if you don't mind! There's a good chance you've answered some of them before but I wanted to ask anyway:

First of all: with both Snotlout's being one character, and in Elder's age group, how does that work with some of the book specific scenes where Snotlout is being cruel to Hiccup during training (as the older ones have already gone through pirate training)?

Also slightly related: are either Adelaide or Gustav in Younger's pirate training programme or is it just the book people we hear about?

Also also slightly related (and you can tell I have a bit of a theme to my questions): what is Adelaide and Snotlout's relationship like? And what is Adelaide like full stop since she's barely mentioned in the books after all, so if you do have anything characterisation wise, that would be quite cool?

So Snotlout basically did all the book bullying to Elder back when they were both in the Pirate Training Program, (including the sabatoge and attempted parricide,) and he continued to do it through the Dragon Training Program and up until Elder saved everyone from the Red Death. Ever since starting the Dragon Academy, Elder has been receiving much more respect from his peers, and Snotlout has been having to draw back on the bullying to save face. Elder and he still have that chief-heir rivalry, of course, and it becomes a gag that Snotlout casually tries to kill him and Elder rolls his eyes like "oh, you" and then everyone laughs it off. Through RTTE he'll mellow out, and by the time of HTTYD 2, the murder theme will pretty much be gone with Snotlout having begrudgingly become real friends with Elder.

As for Adelaide!! I made a post about her a few years ago, but I decided I wanted to give her a bit of an update since I found a better slot for her in the larger story! (And also because I wanted to redesign her agahagah)

Adelaide is indeed in the Pirate Training Program! She pretty much becomes Younger's book!Snotlout, sans the murderous tendencies. Unlike Snotlout, Adelaide has nothing to gain from killing her Hiccup, but she has seen Snotlout heckle Elder enough times for her to mirror that onto Younger. Taking book!Snotlout's place also gives her all of his book lackies, like Dogsbreath! (Gustav is also a Pirate and one of her lackies, though he's less of a bully to Minicup and Fish and moreso just a mild annoyance 😂)

Adelaide and her friends' usual up-tos around Berk include sailboat racing, hunting rats and fish with their hunting dragons, basheyball, and other mischievous preteen activities (though never quite as destructive as what the Thorston twins get up to.)

Adelaide's relationship with Snotlout is amicable enough, though they probably bicker thrice as much as the Hiccups normally would. Snotlout likes to embarass Adelaide around the other Pirates and it annoys her to no end, but despite this (and she'd never say it to his face) she's often heard praising Snotlout up and down for being the coolest person ever. She likes to taunt Younger about how her cool and awesome big brother is gonna clobber his wimpy crybaby big brother. Even after Elder defeats the Red Death, she still has a habit of talking him down in favor of Snotlout, and continues to do so even through Race to the Edge and HTTYD 2.

She'd get some skull tattoos in RTTE, and her riding dragon would be the Devilish Dervish that Snot had in the books! I also wanted to give her a unique weapon, so she uses a flail mace!

Her role gets bigger from book 9 onward, as she and Snotlout's relationship with each other as well as their differing thoughts about who deserves to be King become extremely relevant.

Let's just say she's got a good throwing arm.

I’m sorry I need to talk about hiccup and snotlout for a second- Chaotic Feral CousinsTM Fridays

first off, they are my bbs. I love them to death.

second, can we just- have more of them? Like, more headcanons? More aus and fics and thought threads? They’re cousins for fucks sakes, even if the movies don’t acknowledge that fact (and even if some of us or sometimes they aren’t in our headcanons), they are a family just as the rest of the Riders are family.

and yet we have less of Snotlout and Hiccup as *family* and not as a revenge arc (I love a good revenge arc/dark au myself, but Snotlout is too precious to me to properly love a dark!hiccup fic where they kill of the snotman himself) than we have of hiccup and ruffnut in *any* kind of relationship.

genuinely why, as a collective fandom, is there so few them then?

I need my cousins. I need my fond rivals. I need my trans besties. I need my badass dragon riders. I need my “troubled childhood/disappointed fathers” duo.

please, let’s give us more, yeah?
