Some Trolls headcanons because I'm going insane :)

- Poppy is aroace

- Branch is romantically attracted to Poppy but shows it in ways that could be seen as really good friendship

- The are in a queer platonic relationship

- Branch LOVES other types of music! He loves listening to it and making it! He's kind of a troll of all trades

- The yodelers are a sub-genre of country troll

- Hickory is a country/yodel troll but only really talks without the country accent when he is very comfortable w/ someone (ex. Dickory, Poppy, Branch)

- Chaz's parents were a classical and pop troll but he lived with the classicals most of his life

- Chaz can NOT remember people's names! He pretends it's just cause he's an asshole but he genuinely just forgets

- John Dory knows EVERYONE! Like, Poppy will be trying to introduce him to someone and he'll be like "oh, Hickory and Dickory? We used to bounty hunt together" or "Barb? Oh she's cool. Yeah, me and her dad used to be buddies"

💞 As a whole 💞

💞 After you come back home looking more than just worse for wear and you pass out the second you decide to take a quick seat, everyone is immediately concerned for you.

💞 You'd been constantly overworking yourself for days now, refusing to take a proper rest, refusing help from everyone and pushing yourself more and more everyday until it was too much for your body and there you are now. Sprawled on the couch, snoring and with hesvy bags under your eyes.

💞 When you wake back up again, tucked in bed, you already know you're in for a lecture from them or something.

💞 Yeah, you get Super Lectured. It's not fun.

💞 Simply put, all of them are mortified for you but there's also a constant I Told You So vibe to them once they start to practically force some chill pills down your throat.

♥️ Barb ♥️

♥️ After that little incident, she's always pulling you into whatever leisure activity she's got going on. No, she doesn't care you're not into her sea glass collection, you're going to sit down and relax, dammit.

♥️ He's kinda rough on her approach but that's just because she worries a lot about you and it was your stubbornness that got you all overworked in the first place.

♥️ She'll offer some help here and there to make whatever load you're struggling with easier, but she prefers the angle where she helps you wind down after a hard day's work.

🩵 Branch 🩵

🩵 This man is just as overworked as you are but that doesn't matter right now, Y/N, you literally dropped into that couch like Peter Griffin and passed out.

🩵 He won't even ask you if you want some help after that, nah. He'll force his way into whatever it was that got you this stressed out and tired and help, wherever you want it or not.

🩵 He'll kinda end up overworking himself with helping you not get overworked and then it's your turn to call him out.

🧡 Hickory 🧡

🧡 Out of the whole polycule, he's the best suited to deal with this situation.

🧡 He knows the best way to help you out is not forcing yourself to relax or forcing his help into your business, but rather he'll help you to find the balance yourself.

🧡 He'll do little gestures or leave little post-it notes around to remind you to take a break from time to time and they'll work everytime (specially when he draws little doodles of what's supposed to be himself going “👍”).

🩷 Poppy 🩷

🩷 She becomes a little of a mother hen and she'll be constantly asking you if you're tired or if you need any help. And when I say constantly, I mean constantly. It's kinda a lot, but she'll stop after the first time you tell her to chill.

🩷 She'll feel bad if you're overworking yourself over anything related to her; if you're helping her around Pop Village or anything like that, she'll immediately find someone else to take your place.

🩷 She won't say to your face “hey, maybe you should sit down”, but she'll be making small comments and jokes about that. A lot of them. It's almost kinda passive aggressive??? You know she means well and her heart is in the right place, but you also tell her to chill with that too.

💚 Tresillo 💚

💚 After Hick, Tresillo is the best next candidate to help you figure this stuff out. You're a grown adult and he knows you're capable enough to find a balance between Relaxation Times and Working Times.

💚 He's got a more direct approach and he'll straight up tell you whatever advice he can think of at the first sign of you starting to stress yourself out.

💚 His advice can go from very insightful and philosophical words that turn your way of thinking upside down to literally just “babe, stop and take a good look at those clouds, ain't they pretty?”

💙 Trollex 💙

💙 He doesn't look like it, but this guy over here can sometimes overwork himself right out to the point of having to take entire days to recover. But heavens forbid you even think about doing something like that, heck no.

💙 You've got responsibilities too, but those are never important enough to risk your health to the point that you can't stay awake anymore, that's simply not cool.

💙 He's more focused on keeping an eye on your sleeping schedule and making sure you're actually taking breaks from time to time everyday. Like, he'll be literally watching from around the corner like a cat and stuff.

I think the funniest idea in my AU is ten years before Trolls 3, Hickory was making out with John Dory and Grayer before the two got married, he's given Floyd a few kisses at parties, then post World Tour he's borderline a third in Poppy and Branch's relationship, in the way that he's always here and they treat him like a third but they don't have genuine romantic feelings for him

Angel (Branch x Cooper)

She had existed for the longest and she also went through a LOTTA changes! At first she was a quadruped with a flipped Bob cut then when TWT came out, she became a bipedal funk troll with long hair in a bun and now I just made her a common troll with fur.

She is a very anxious person but also so loving. She loves R&B so she considers herself as such while being funk/pop by blood.

(And if you’re wondering, Spruce and Prince D are her fav uncles💖)

Dallas + Cowbell (Hickory x Poppy)

They ofc was created when TWT came out and I fell in love with Hickoppy! I had to give Dallas a HUUUGE overhaul bc I made him OP and magical and it made no sense. And also it was revealed Hickory isn’t a centaur so I had to remove the satyr legs from him. Cowbell is the same, just older (two years younger than Dallas.

Wire (Barb x Creek)

And now the newest of the fan kids: Wire!! She is a “happy accident” but Barb and Creek would never say it to her face LMAO. There’s not much to say abt her yet but here she is!! I named her wire bc “Barb Wire” lol and it made me think to Barbie Wire from HB.

A VERY VERY Bitter Reunion

John Dory x Hickory x Male Reader

A/N: What if this is a universe where before the events of Trolls 3 JD actually got together with Hickory and brought him to save Floyd. Lights Camera ACTION!

You were attending a Wedding! Who's wedding? Well it was the wedding of King Gristle and his soon-to-be Wife Bridgette! You weren't really too stoked on the whole wedding thing. You mostly went because Branch was there and you wanted to protect him if anything happened, despite his constant protest of being a grown up and not needing any protection from his father figure (you). You honestly didn't listen much. The wedding officiant was talking about something about going abroad.

The wedding was going normally when suddenly someone screamed "STOP THE WEDDING!!" Everyone stopped as a troll fell down from the sky, you looked at the troll "Wait.....no! It can't be!" You thought, but despite your disbelief there was no denying that the troll was none other than John Dory "Has anyone seen my baby brother?" John Dory looks around and spots Branch, not noticing you, John Dory gasp "BABY BRO!" He yells running to Branch.

Instinctively you accidentally pushed Branch behind you, while Branch was denying being John Dory's brother. John Dory finally spots you "Y/N?" You pulled John and Branch to a more secluded area, to not make a scene in front of a wedding. The wedding continued as you, Branch and John Dory discussed. You wanted to just punch John Dory but you held back. There was silence between the three of you. Until you finally start off by saying "So...why are you here?" Which John responds with "Look! We need to save Floyd! He's been captured"

You and Branch look at eachother in disbelief, eyes widening "What?!" You both say. Poppy and her friends came to you guys, Poppy saying "What's going on here?" She asks looking concerend "My brother needs saving, no time to explain, you want to come?" Branch asks, Poppy immediately nods "I'll come with too" You say "It's settled then" John Dory says, leading you all to her bus, and it was alive? It looks like an armadillo bus "Meet Rhonda! My armadillo bus!"

John Dory says, the bus then licks you all "Woah looks like she likes you...or she's marking you as prey, you can never be too sure with Rhonda" Finally after all of that, all of you went inside the bus. You looked around, it looked like a standard house, until you saw a troll, it was Hickory, you continued to look arou- wait, HICKORY?! You immediately turned your head back, eyes widening and mouth wide open, seemed like both Poppy and Branch noticed "What is HE doing here?!" Branch says, he looked like he was about to pounce, you turn to him as you then placed a hand on his shoulders "Come on Branch, we talked about this" You whisper, Poppy and Branch calmed down from the shock.

John Dory then explained "Well everyone I'd like you to meet Hickory! My....uh boyfriend" For some reason the term "boyfriend" shocked you more than Hickory being there, you don't know why but it hurt, you're still angry at him, but the thought of him replacing you after abandoning you...hurt, Poppy could sense the tension, so she then jokes "I'm honestly more surprised you two are dating than Hickory being here" Branch was shocked but then just calmed down.

Hickory then finally talks, saying "Well it's great to see y'all again, Branch, Poppy and Y/N" You and Poppy great him back, while as Branch just grumbled. John Dory begins to explain what happened, you thought that some things didn't add up "Wait, how exactly did Floyd make the letter if he's trapped?" You ask, John Dory answers "Well it's a trap, but even then nothing could break the bottle so maybe performing the Perfect Family Harmony can break it" You snicker and joke "Well let's just hope you don't mess it up again"

John Dory rolls his eyes, saying "Hey! That wasn't my fault ok? It wa-" before he could go on Hickory stopped him, whispering something in his ear, John took a deep breath and said "I already have Spruce's location, so.... we'll find him first." You all nod. As John begins to drive to the place. You then thought to yourself "Hm, let's just hope this goes well, Spruce, here we come"

💞 Oh, they pissed. As soon as they find out that you've been having trouble with some inconsiderate trolls being nasty to you for having lost your colors, you can bet they're practically up in arms and very eager to have a talk with those bullies.

💞 (You're mortified and somehow manage to convince them to Not Do Anything To Harsh for your sake, though.)

💞 Lots of reassurance!

💞 Your partners won't allow you to sulk or dwell too much in the whole ordeal and they'll make a combined effort to always lift your spirits up whenever you start to believe the rude and flat out unnecessary things the bullies said to you.

♥️ Barb ♥️

♥️ She's easily the most outraged out of the lot. She hates bullies (kinda ironic, yeah, but you get the idea.).

♥️ Particularly, she hates bullies that joke and tease about such sensitive topics as losing your colors. Because, c'mon, that's just straight up professional huge a-hole behavior.

♥️ Whenever she wants to help you feel more comfortable with your situation, she'll take your hands in hers and raise them to your eye level, as if wanting you to take a good look of your laced fingers.

♥️ “Y’see? I'm sorta gray too, if you think about it. But I think you rock those grays way better than me, babe.” (She's intentionally corny to get a smile out of you and it works every time.)

♥️ She tries to get back at the bullies, but she's always too obvious and you never let her have the payback she's so adamant you deserve.

🩵 Branch 🩵

🩵 He can relate.

🩵 Oh, he can relate a lot. He grew up gray and, man, can trolls be cruel even if they seem to be all sunshine and rainbows. Not to say ‘he’s had it worse’ when he was younger, no, he's not the type to downplay a situation like this, ever, but he's definitely the best candidate to help you go through this ordeal because of his past.

🩵 Lot's of open-heart talks, venting, hugs and, yes, lots of tears from both sides as well (just don't go around telling everyone, please).

🩵 He's still devastated that something as awful as losing one's colors could ever happen to you but he can't mope about it forever (never in front of you, at least); he remains strong for your sake.

🩵 He also tries to ‘avenge’ you in whatever way he can, almost begging you to let him at least do something to deal with the ones that bothered you, anything, but you never give in and eventually he gives up (very reluctantly).

🧡 Hickory 🧡

🧡 Now, Hickory over here, he's actually the only one that manages to evade your suspicions and he flat out threatens the trolls that harassed you to buck off (in an eerily peaceful and very cowboy-ish manner, might I add).

🧡 After that, you don't ever get bothered again and Hickory lets you believe that those trolls simply had a change of heart.

🧡 His way of helping you go through this hardship is not by ignoring the issue, but he just rather not mention the obvious unless it's absolutely necessary.

🧡 It's not like he's in love with you for your colors or whatever, but he does care deeply for your mood and feelings. He just wants you to be happy, y'know?

🧡 When the time comes that your colors gradually start to show up again, he just smiles and he'll go out of his way to always remind you of how beautiful those shades and tones look on you even if they're still a bit dim.

🩷 Poppy 🩷

🩷 She's frustrated, very, very much so. Why and how can other trolls be so mean and nasty???? Like Why?

🩷 After finding out about the way you were harassed, she gets clingy. She gets clingy because now she doesn't want to leave you all on your own, exposed to more mistreatment.

🩷 Just like Branch, she's familiar with the subject of color loss and she doesn't take it lightly for a second.

🩷 You could even say it's a bit of some sort of guilt she feels about the way Branch used to be treated in the past that she's now worried 24/7 about you.

🩷 She refuses to allow anyone even think about ostracizing you; she'll go feral if she ever catches someone even batting an eye at your lack of vibrant colors, let alone comment anything on the matter in a negative way.

💚 Tresillo 💚

💚 He's still not entirely used to seeing you without those lovely colors of yours and he's not shy to admit out loud that he misses them.

💚 But he doesn't do that to make you feel bad, or inadequate or guilty on any level; he's just honest like that, and he hopes for the day that your beautiful colors return.

💚 Then, and only then, he'll know you're really and truly okay. And if you're happy, he's happy.

💚 Like Poppy, he gets overprotective and almost overbearing just so he can keep an eye over you so no one else dares bother you in the slightest about your color loss.

💚 He won't threaten anyone like Hickory did, but he will glare and give the worst of stink eyes at whoever steps out of line in his presence, and man, he can look kinda scary when he's serious like that.

💙 Trollex 💙

💙 Like mentioned before, Trollex once lost his colors too after the passing of his parents, but that particular experience he has on the subject is what gives him the reassurance he needs that you can get better, just like he did and just like Branch did as well.

💙 The thought of someone bullying you for your situation makes his blood boil but he's more concerned on how you feel and what you think.

💙 Forget those bullies, they don't matter now. Now it's all about you and how you feel and what you need.

💙 He becomes a bit of a mother hen, always asking about your mood and hoping that one of these days, your bright colors will shine bright once again.

💙 He's a great listener, so if you need a shoulder to cry on or just vent, he'll always be there, ready to give you advice and make sure you always leave with a huge smile on your face.
