The fact that half of Green's Champion team knows Earthquake in FRLG during rematches comes off to me like he's beyond desperate for counters against Leaf's Raichu.

F/O Headcanons: Pokemon Universe Edition!
(More will be added with time)
(Also, many of these are inspired from headcanons I’ve previously read, so you may recognize them. Unfortunately, most of these have been in my phone for a long time so I don’t remember some of the original sources; if you do though, please message me so I can give proper credits)
Aromatisse tend to make potpurri nests
Nessa and Raihan are cousins.
Leon does not know how to break open a safe or pick locks… Hop knows how to do both. In fact Hop has numerous skills that are also a little shady.
It’s hard keeping a Riolu at their beginning stage because they are very loving, loyal and friendly pokemon. Don’t give your kid a Riolu because you will be taking care of a Lucario.
Phantump can possess all kinds of tree stumps (fruit trees, redwoods, birch trees, etc.). This gives them some natural variation in appearance.
Kirlia will often "intern" under Gallade and Gardevoir in order to enhance their psychic abilities. Which one a Kirlia trains under is thought to influence its evolution if male.
Magikarp are popular among breeders because they have a good amount of variation and produce lots of eggs. You can get Magikarp/Gyarados in various colors and patterns because of this. This is also true among Rattata, but they’re less popular due to people considering them weak and boring.
Absol are known for being paranoid. They are extremely protective of their trainers and will try to prevent any negative thing from happening to them, even if that thing is "leaf blows into their face" or something equally mundane.
Sylveon and Umbreon get along surprisingly well because they're both stealth hunters.
One popular textile company uses a stylized Leavanny for their logo.
Modern Pokeballs create simulations for the Pokemon inside that make them feel like they're in a large environment. In addition to making the Pokeball feel extra comfortable, they also help keep the Pokemon enriched.
Eevee and their evolutions arguably have the cutest courtship rituals on the planet. They start off by showing interest with short yips and sniffing, studying each other. After that, play-fighting ensues. When that's done, the pair share tiny kisses on the cheek.
Umbreon can spray poison from their rings. They can poison themselves if they breathe it in accidentally due to not being poison-types, but the toxins are pretty mild.
Leavanny can fly, but only for very short distances and not very far off the ground.
A popular rumor states that the more powerful the Lucario the more black they have on their bodies, but there's nothing scientific to back up this claim.
There are some that believe that Fidough evolve faster when around fire-type Pokemon. This claim has yet to be scientifically backed, however.
Young Vulpix will actively try to get their trainers to "hold their paw for reassurance.
The Leavanny line becomes incredibly agitated if they don't have any materials to "sew" with, so make sure they have access to plenty of greenery.
Absol live in isolation out in the wild, only coming together to breed and take care of their pups.
Jolteon oddly prefer sparkling water. Many theorize that the breed generally prefer foods that cause ‘tingly’ sensations as it’s similar to the hum of electricity.
Legendary and guardian pokemon in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Kalos are so rarely seen they are thought of as myths. Meanwhile the Tapu guardians in Alola have shown up in people's backyards to mess around with their sprinklers and lawn ornaments.
Luxray are used as police or medical Pokemon in Sinnoh due to their ability to see through objects and strong stature. They are good at finding and retrieving victims and people who need assistance. Along with that they can be trained to listen for heartbeats and give electricity in a way similar to an AED.
There is a superstition in Johto that if an Eevee jumps into a child's crib, the child is blessed. Often times for baby showers, the mother is gifted an Eevee egg for this very reason. When the kit hatches, it is left in the room with the baby. If the Eevee stays by the child's side, but outside the crib, the child is destined to be average and live a normal life. However, if the Eevee jumps inside the crib and sleeps next to the child, the child will be blessed with fortune, prosperity, and joy.
It's thought that having someone with a positive aura take care of Riolu eggs helps them to hatch faster.
Eevees tend to mimic the personality and habits of their trainers. If their trainer tends to be energetic, the Eevees will get a share of that energy too. If, on the other hand, the trainer tends to be more on the relaxed and a bit lazy side the Eevees will behave like that too.
Popplio are frequently used for public performances and other forms of entertainment. It works out nicely, as it serves as excellent enrichment for them
Swablu's soft, cotton-y down is a favorite filler for pillows, especially because they shed it often. Nowadays it's more common to find synthetic substitutes.
Eevee’s love to be groomed and accessorized, especially on their tail. They don't like baths though but they groom themselves well.
Hisuian Growlithe/Arcanine are still found in some volcanic regions, but they are incredibly rare and protected under law.
A group of Chingling/Chimecho are known as a gong.
While Vulpix and Ninetales have incredible fur, harming one is considered bad luck and, in some areas, sacrilegious.

Hi Mei, how are you?
A lot has happened!
To start, I got a new (old?) 3DS. It was the animal crossing version which was really hard to get because almost all of them are in Japan and not many were on the market. I modded it and started a new save on Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Pokemon Y.
New Leaf has been fun to play with my siblings. Pokemon Y has also been really fun so far. I've challenged myself to make my team as balanced as possible. I chose Froakie as my first starter and Charmander as my second. I'm naming all of my pokemon after my best friends, which made a lot of the dialogue really funny.
I also got a god awful headache. It was so bad to the point I was thinking of how I'd tell you guys once I died. I got hit on the head by a basketball a few days earlier, and I've heard stories of it causing internal bleeding and eventually death, so I just accepted my faith at that point. I'm still alive, though!

what is your favourite small animal and why is it bnuuys?
okay so you're very close but it's these fuckers
Tumblr media
this is the leaf sheep and he's a type of sacoglossan sea slug. he is bioluminescent and capable of photosynthesis because he retains the chloroplasts from the algae he eats!! he's extremely tiny, about .5-1cm in length, and he looks like a little sheep made of leaves. hence the name. he also, in my opinion, looks like a pokemon.
he is closely related to the nudibranch, an order of sea slugs that lack an internal shell and have external gills.
Tumblr media
(quick infographic so you can see how cool these fuckers are)
the reason I say you were close is because there is a species of nudibranch called a sea bunny!!!! and they're so cute!!!!!!
Tumblr media
look at these fuckers!!!!!! definitely one of my favourites.
anyways. neurodivergent people when they are asked about something that has zero to do with their special interest finding a way to relate it back to their special interest. sorry. but also not at all please give me more excuses to talk about sea slugs.

Kanto remake idea.
Expand on the cities, instead of just repeating Gen I's layout, so they have back alleys. There, you can randomly find Team Rocket grunts selling "exotic" Pokémon like Grimmsnarl and Klinklang for ludicrous prices. You have the option of actually buying the Pokémon if you grinded to have the money, to which the Pokémon will have 0 friendship. OR you battle the grunt who has disobeying over-leveled Pokémon. If you win, you have a good chance of at least one of the Pokémon wanting to join your team.
Buying the Pokémon fits in with Gen I's grimier 90s pre-international phenomenon feel. I can also see dumb ass kid Red actually thinking buying the Pokemon to be saving them, maybe that can be integrated with an introduction via a low-priced Roggenrola or something. However, making it on ongoing mechanic, even after defeating Giovanni, makes Red / Leaf a bit more of a hero that learns from their mistakes. It also integrates foreign Pokémon in a believable way, and continues to show Team Rocket as a threat via game play mechanics instead of just going through the motions in the story.

My Big Pokémon Gen 10 Theory:
I've seen tons of speculation on what region future Pokemon games may be in, or what new flashy battle gimmick they'll have. And since I haven't heard anyone propose this theory , I thought I'd post it here for future reference!
TLDR: The Gen 10 Special Feature will involve getting rid of the turn-based battle system entirely and having manually-controlled Pokemon in real-time battles!
Why do I think so? Because they've been slowly testing it out over the last few years.
Legends Arceus introduced Strong and Agile styles, which allow Pokemon to attack multiple times in a row, breaking from the standard back-and-forth turn order already. Despite this, battles weren't in real-time in this game- enemies would still wait for you to input your attack before the rest of the battle proceeded.
But you know what IS in real time? Tera Raids in Scarlet and Violet. While internally the game still registers "turns" in these raids, if you don't input your attack in time during these raids, you can still easily miss out on attacking for a turn, while everyone else is still in the heat of battle.
Another minor but important change for this theory is battles now taking place in the actual overworld instead of a small arena that matches the environment. Allowing you to move around during the battle (Legends Arceus) or at least move the camera around freely (Scarlet & Violet).
And now with The Indigo Disk, they've introduced a new mechanic called "Synchro", that allows you to manually control your Pokemon and move it around, something that we know more from games like Pokepark and Mystery Dungeon. This I believe, is the second-last piece of the puzzle. Preparing us for the eventual game where rather than standing around clicking orders to our Pokemon once per turn, we'll instead manually control our Pokemon to move around, attack at any rate, and dodge enemy attacks just like in the anime! (I am a touch sad that this feature was introduced in the same games Ash Greninja got scrapped, but hey...)
But what is the final piece of this puzzle, you may ask? I believe it's figuring out what to do with the Speed and Accuracy stats. For the last 26+ years of Pokemon, the Speed stat decides who attacks first in a turn. But if turns are gone, then what now?
Maybe instead, Speed will now decide the actual movement speed of your Pokemon as they dash around the battle? A Regieleki would be able to become an actual blur of lightning, while a Shuckle would be practically immobile.
Or to make things simpler, Speed could maybe determine the attack rate of your Pokemon. An Electrode could maybe fire off 10 Thunderbolts in 5 seconds, while a Pincurchin might only be able to fire 2 Thunderbolts in that time?
Meanwhile, accuracy could tie into the literal accuracy of your moves. Moves like Magical Leaf could lock on to your enemies from across the map, while a Focus Blast could just fly off the map in the opposite direction you aimed it.
Or if they didn't want to go too overboard with this system, they could also just add a "charge time" setting to attacks. Where moves like Scratch can be spammed as much as you can tap the A Button, while moves like Solarbeam could take a solid 5 seconds or so to charge and fire.
But yeah, this is my big theory for the future of Pokemon! Let me know what you think, or if I missed any details! I can't wait to come back to this post in 3+ years when Gen 10 actually introduces "ZetaStretching" instead, where all Pokemon become oblong and all their moves become OKHO moves, haha.

The Start of Team Soup (pt. 3)
So. It's been almost two months since I've done any writing. Oops. Yeah, I didn't really do any in October and I only really started working on this in November. My job has been unexpectedly super draining on my creative juices! So I focused in on just one project to work on, and that ended up being the PMD AU. I definitely want to work on other things I have on the back burner, but I think for now, get used to seeing these funky little critters.
Word Count: 3.1k

(Please reblog! I like reading tags :])
That night… Clare had a strange dream.
She was in a multicolored space, sleeping but she could still sense everything around her.
“... ... … … … … Where… am I…?  This… is a dream, right…?”
Suddenly, Clare could sense someone else with her.  But they were very faint.
“Hello?  Who are you?  Do I know you?  Should I know you?”
They attempted to speak, but it was barely audible with how far away they were and how soft their voice was.
And already Clare was beginning to wake up.
The Chikorita sat up in her bed.
“I dreamt something,” she muttered to herself.  “But I can’t remember what it was about…”  She stared at the basket full of Apples and berries for a while.  Finally, she shook her head.  “I shouldn’t be worrying about that right now,” she internally decided.  “Let’s just worry about rescue work for now.”
She went outside to check her Mailbox.  She found it was void of anything new, so she decided to read the newspaper Giovanni was telling her about yesterday.
“You’re up early.”  Peering over the paper, Clare found Giovanni looking at her with a small smile. “Anything in the Mailbox?”
“Nope.”
The Squirtle sighed. “Yeah, I kinda figured… We’re still really new to this.” Then he perked up. “Hey, why not head to Pokemon Square?  It’s a super helpful hub for rescue teams, and the Pelipper Post Office usually has jobs posted outside.”
With no better ideas, Clare followed behind Giovanni.
Luckily, the Square wasn’t far at all.  They followed a short path and crossed a small wooden bridge over a creek.  Giovanni pointed out all the different shops: two Kecleon ran the item shop (one sold general items, and the other sold Orbs and Technical Machines), Persian ran the bank, Gulpin ran the Link Shop—
“Link Shop?”
“Gulpin can link moves together.  If moves are linked, you can use them at the same time!  Just, ask Gulpin if you wanna know more; he explains it better than me.”
Kangaskhan ran a storage shop.
“If you store any items with Ms. Kangaskhan, they’ll never get lost!  It’s super important that we store any items we don’t want to lose with her in case we faint.”
And finally, Makuhita ran the dojo.
“He can help train us or teach us about stuff in dungeons.”
As Giovanni and Clare came back to the town center, he noticed the Chikorita’s eyes darting away from others and using her leaf to hide her face. “Everyone’s super nice here; don’t be so nervous!  They just want to help.”
He then started down the east road, Clare following behind. “And down here’s the Pelipper Post Office.  They’re super up-to-date on rescue information.  We should be able to get some jobs on the bulletin board.” Giovanni began to pluck off some papers from the board.
“…What do you think we should do about the grass?”  Clare finally piped up.
“What grass?”
“The dead grass in front of our base.  We should probably start thinking about fixing up the whole base, yeah?  We can start small with the grass.”
“Hm… Good point.  Why don’t we focus on that today instead of a job?”
That was how the team spent the next few days, alternating between repair of their base and rescue offers.  It kept them both busy, and it kept Clare’s mind off her strange dreams.
One morning, when Clare came out of her house with Giovanni greeting her, the earth began to shake under their feet.
“Eh?”
“What’s going on?!”
They both whipped their heads around to the sound of someone popping out of the dirt.
“Tunnel over here!”
Pop!
“Tunnel over there!”
Pop!
“Tunnels everywhere!  Woohoo!  Digging is so much fun!” The new arrival-- a Diglett-- cheered and giggled to himself before looking around.  “Err, umm… wait, where am I?”
“False alarm,” Giovanni sighed. “No real quakes; just a kid having a blast.”
Diglett whirled around, looking bashful. “Oh my!  My apologies!  My name is Diglett.  I was digging holes around the Pelipper Post Office, so much so that I kept digging all the way here!  I’m sorry I ruined your nice place!”
Clare chuckled. “Frankly, it can’t get much worse.  Don’t worry about it.”
“Are you saying you forgive me?” The Ground type’s eyes sparkled.
“Yup.  Just be careful; most people won’t appreciate holes around their properties.  Try not to dig too many, ok Diglett?”
“Of course!  Thank you!  I’ll still have fun digging, but I’ll make sure to patch up the holes from time to time!  Bye-bye!” With that, Diglett dug back down into the hole and disappeared.
“He said that he was digging holes around the Pelipper Post Office.  I bet we could get there with this hole now without going through town!” Giovanni jumped in with no hesitation.
“…I’m slightly concerned that you did that with no prodding whatsoever.”
Another strange dream.  The same multicolored space.
“… … … … … …Back here again.”
Clare sensed another presence.  The same one from the last dream.  Whoever they were, they were a bit closer this time.
They tried to speak.  It was possible to hear them this time, but they were still quiet and unclear.  Clare strained to listen.
“Hello?  Hello?  Can you speak up please?”
Then, the ground rumbled.
“An earthquake?  In my dream?”
The ground shook louder and more intensely.
“Oh jeez—!  This feels pretty real for a dream.”
The presence vanished, but Clare was too occupied by the ground to notice.
When the Chikorita woke up the next morning, she knew her first course of action was asking Giovanni about the ground shaking.  If it was real, he would’ve had to feel it too.  She stretched out on her bed.
“Uhh… hello?”
Clare jolted up.  Was there someone in the house?  A quick look around revealed no one.
“Um, hello?  You are Clare… correct?”
She stepped out of her bed and looked around again.  Still, no one.
“Are… you a ghost?”
“Oh!  You can’t see us, of course!  How very rude of us!” Clare yelped as a Dugtrio burst out of the ground right underneath her feet; she was thrown back a bit onto her bed. “We’re pleased to meet you.  We are Dugtrio.”
“…Charmed.”
“Last night, during the earthquake, our child Diglett was attacked!”
“What?  Diglett?  Attacked?”
“Yes!  He was whisked away to the peak of a tall mountain.  We couldn’t possibly climb somewhere so high up.  That is why we must call upon your help, Clare.  Diglett was abducted by a Pokemon named Skarmory.”
Clare shivered.  If the name was anything to go by, this Pokemon would not be pleasant.
“It’s a vilely vicious ruffian!” Dugtrio continued, absolutely not calming Clare’s nerves. “Please do be careful.  We need your help!  We must go!” And with that, Dugtrio burrowed into the floor, leaving no hole behind.
.........That was so fast, the Grass type barely had the chance to rub the sleep out of her eyes.  But Diglett being kidnapped was much more concerning.  She had to tell Giovanni immediately: they had a rescue mission.
She darted outside, and Giovanni wasn’t too far behind from the left path. “Mornin’!” He greeted her cheerfully.
“Dude.  We’ve gotta go now.  We’ve got a real-deal rescue mission.”
“Woah, woah, slow down; you just came outside.  What do you mean we have a rescue mission?  …I mean, that’s great!  But—”
“Yes, it’s true!” A voice came from below.  Dugtrio burst out of the ground, and Team Soup was flung backwards. “Our child Diglett was kidnapped!  He was taken to Mt. Steel’s summit!  Please, we need your help!  Bye-bye!” Then the Ground-type went back down, leaving a map behind.
Giovanni blinked at his rescue partner. “Alright.  I see what happened now.” A pause. “Wait, Diglett was the kid digging holes around here the other day!”
“Exactly!  We gotta go help him!”
“Mt. Steel doesn’t sound real nice though…”
“Rescue team work isn’t always parades and parties; now, c’mon!!”
The two stood across from the menacing cave opening of Mt. Steel.  They couldn’t see inside at all.
“Here we are,” Clare said simply. “Dugtrio said Diglett was whisked up to the peak of this mountain.”
“That’s right!” A voice from underground jolted the two rescuers for a moment.
“Dugtrio?!  You followed us all the way out here?  Without telling us?” Giovanni cried.
“Indeed!” The three-headed (three-bodied?) Pokemon emerged violently from the ground, startling the rescue team again. “The peak is the ninth floor!  Thank you for helping!  Farewell!” He descended as quickly as he came up.
“Er… It’s no problem at all, Dugtrio.”
The two rescuers looked at each other, and nodded.  They both knew what had to be done.
Mt. Steel was the biggest challenge Team Soup had faced thus far.  The first few floors weren't so bad, but the climb only became more treacherous as the pair went up.  The enemies were tougher, but that meant Clare and Giovanni also got stronger in the process.  They even learned some new moves (though Giovanni wasn't thrilled about his move only raising his defense while Clare's was poisoning other Pokemon).
...
“...What's our strategy for Skarmory?” The Chikorita asked when they had a little room to breathe.
“What do you mean?”
“Giovanni, Skarmory's a Steel and Flying type.  We're at a huge disadvantage here.” Giovanni started to open his mouth to respond. “And before you say, 'Oh, then we'll just hit him as hard as we can', almost all of our moves won't be very effective.”
The Squirtle clamped his mouth closed, looking annoyed that he was read so easily.  Then he put a hand to his chin. “Then how about... we POISON him?!” A devious grin flourished on his face.
“Can't.  Steel types can't be poisoned.” And it immediately fell off his face. “Our best bet is probably using the items we've collected.  We can try to talk him down, but I get the feeling he won't be very chatty.”
“Hey!  No matter what, we got this!  We've not failed a single mission, and we're not about to start now!”
Clare smiled at Giovanni's optimism.  It put her a bit more at ease, even as they were climbing up to the summit.
...
The wind whipped around sharply at the top of Mt. Steel, and the near completely flat ground provided no cover.  Square-cut rocks shined like metal in the sun.
“Clare, look!  Diglett's over there!” The little Ground-type was secluded on a small ledge, which seemed to be Skarmory's perch. “Hey, are you alright out there?” Giovanni cried out over the wind. “We're here to rescue you, kid!”
“I... I'm scared...” Diglett whimpered.
Suddenly, something shot up from the chasm between Team Soup and Diglett.  The rescue team jumped back in surprise as it zipped down to the ledge just as quickly.
This Pokemon was a sleek metallic gray with crimson wings and sharp yellow eyes.
Skarmory.
“You!  What do you think you're doing here?!”
“Uh, I just said what we're doing here.” The Squirtle said indignantly. “We're here to rescue Diglett!”
“Skarmory, let him go.” Clare stepped up, trying not to let Giovanni agitate Skarmory further. “Diglett's done nothing wrong.”
“How can you believe that?!  This is all their fault!  I haven't slept in days because the earthquakes frighten me so!  Every night we have them!  And it's all because of that brat's ilk running around underground!”
“Well, you're not wrong about the earthquakes; there have been quite a lot.  But it would take more than one Diglett to cause something as big as an earthquake, especially if it can be felt all the way up here.”
“You be quiet!  We'll fight if you keep that up!”
“It's no use.  Skarmory's too angry to listen to us.”
“We'll have to fight it out!” Giovanni got into a fighting pose alongside Clare.
Skarmory let out a shrill cry at the two and the battle began.
Skarmory wasted no time in closing the distance between them, and proceeded to slash and peck at the two with his talons and beak.  The two retaliated with their own elemental attacks.  Giovanni was mostly successful at taking a brunt of the damage thanks to Withdraw.  But with Skarmory using Leer to lower his Defense back down, the combatants were at a stalemate.
Clare kept the team healthy with Oran Berries from their supplies, but they only had two left now.  They had to switch strategies and fast.
What did they have?  Pecha Berries, Cheri Berries, Blast Seeds... That's it!
"Gio, catch!" Clare called out to her partner as she threw a Blast Seed towards him.  The Squirtle caught it and didn't hesitate on shoving it into his mouth.
His face quickly contorted into wide-eyed shock as he covered his mouth with his hands.  Skarmory paused for a moment in confusion.  But that was just the hesitation the team needed; the Steel-Flying type got blasted in the face from an explosion from Giovanni's mouth.
Skarmory screeched and stumbled back.  From that and the team's other attacks, it looked like he had been beaten. ”Grrr... I can't keep up!  I'll flee for now!“ The steel bird shot up into the sky once more, crookedly flying away.
It was quiet for a bit before Clare let out a little laugh. “We did it Gio, we did it!!”
“Hey Clare,” The Water-type breathed heavily. “Could you do me a little favor and WARN me next time you DO THAT?!”
”Oh.  Yeah.” Now that feeling of pride was pushed down by embarrassment. “Sorry about that; it was the only thing I could think of.“
”...Eh, it's alright.  I get it.  Water under the bridge.  Now let's worry about Diglett.”
The pair walked to the edge of the chasm.  Clare looked down for a moment, but quickly shot her head back up. “I can’t see the bottom,” she noted with a scared strain in her voice.
“How do you think we should do this?” Giovanni asked, seemingly oblivious to Clare’s fright.  He put a hand up to his chin in thought, then pounded one fist into his palm with a smile. “You can use your vines to stretch me across the gap and I can grab Diglett from there!  Then you’d just reel us back in.”
“...I don’t have vines.”
“...You, should have vines.  Don’t Grass-types usually have vines?”
“Sure, but not all of them.  And I’m pretty sure I’m one without vines.”
There was a long pause.
“Oh Arceus, what are we gonna do.”
An electronic sound from above caught the pair’s attention.  Looking up, two Magnemite were floating down to them.
“BZBZBZZ!”
“Oh, hey!  You’re the Magnemite from Thunderwave Cave!” Clare tilted her head as the Steel/Electric pair drifted closer. “What are you doing here?”
“WE HEARD WORD OF THIS.  WE CAN RESCUE DIGLETT FROM THE SKY.  BZBZBZZ!”
“With… your magnets?  What would he grab onto?  Can he grab on?” The Squirtle quietly talked to himself as the Magnemite flew over the opposite side of the cliff and approached Diglett.
“HOLD ON TO US TIGHT.” “DON’T BE SCARED.  WE WON’T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF ZAPPING YOU.”
“Oh… Alright…” It seemed the poor kid had been frozen with fright the whole time.  But now with the helpful Magnemite, his nerves calmed a bit.
“Ohhh… I was very scared.  Maybe because I was up somewhere so high… My feet feel like they’re still walking on air.”
The whole party had descended down the mountain and were huddled outside Team Soup’s rescue base.
Giovanni glanced sideways to Clare with squinted eyes. “...Feet?” He whispered.  The Grass-type just shrugged.
“HE HAS THEM?  FEET?” The Magnemite attempted to whisper to each other.
“Well, you’re safe and that’s what really matters,” Clare said to the little Ground-type, trying to steer the conversation away from appendages that may or may not exist.
“Yeah!  Thank you very much.”
“Oh, you’ve been rescued!  Great!  Great!”
Everyone paused and whirled around themselves, trying to find this new mystery voice.
“HM?  WHAT WAS THAT?” “AM I HEARING VOICES?”
“...Dugtrio?” The Squirtle asked to the ground.
“Whoops!  You can’t see us?  That’s terribly rude of us!” As predicted, Dugtrio erupted from the earth right next to Giovanni, making him shriek, jump, and nearly crash into Clare. “Hello.  Dugtrio here.”
“Oh!  Papa!” Diglett chirped.
“Diglett!  You had us worried!  You’re not hurt?”
“Nope!  It was scary, but I’m all right.  It’s all thanks to Clare’s team.”
“Thank you for everything.  You’re heroes.”
“Thank you, but… You should really be thanking the Magnemite.  This rescue would have been impossible without them.” Clare flicked her leaf towards them.
Dugtrio turned to the pair of Steel-Electric types. “Oh, how rude of us!  Thank you so much!”
“NO, NO.  IT WAS THE ONLY THING TO DO.  AND… HOW BOTH OUR EVOLVED FORMS ARE JOINED TRIOS… I FELT A CERTAIN KINSHIP.  AFTER ALL, POKEMON MUST HELP EACH OTHER.”
“I’m impressed.  Sincerely, thank you.” Dugtrio then looked back at Team Soup. “We must be going.  Clare.  Giovanni.  Thank you.  Farewell!”
“Bye!”
With Diglett’s final goodbye, the two Ground-types buried under the soil and zoomed off, leaving behind a few rewards for the rescue team.
“WE’LL BE ON OUR WAY TOO.” Magnemite said.
“Wait, wait, wait; hold on a sec, you two!” Giovanni stepped in front of the two.
“WHAT IS IT?”
“Well, I’ve been standing here thinking we couldn’t have done that last mission without you guys.  And we’re probably going to need help like that again.”
“To put it in a less long-winded way: Would you like to join our team?” Clare didn’t fail to notice her partner’s unamused side eye.
“JOIN YOUR TEAM?”
“Yes.  We’d love to have you with us.  O-Only if you want to, of course!  We won’t force you or anything.”
“RESCUE TEAM… THAT SOUNDS FUN!” The Magnemite on the left’s magnets buzzed with excitement.
“BUT… IF YOU NEED US TO RUSH OVER TO RESCUES… WE NEED SOMEWHERE TO LIVE CLOSE BY.  IS THERE ANYWHERE WE CAN LIVE IN THIS AREA?” The Magnemite on the right tilted itself at an angle.
“Er… Well…” The Squirtle scratched the back of his head.
“OH… THERE ISN’T… TOO BAD.  SORRY, BUT WE CAN’T JOIN YOU.  SEE YOU!” Their magnets continued to buzz as the pair left.
“Well, that’s a shame,” Clare said with a sigh. “But they’re right.  Team members should live close by so they can leave quickly or we can contact them easily.”
“Then we need to find some real estate that we can use!  Then we can start recruiting.”
“How are we gonna do that?”
Giovanni thought about it for a moment, then gained a wide grin and started pushing the Chikorita towards her house. “Let me worry about that!  You just get some rest tonight.”
“...Could you try and sound less suspicious when you say that?”
But he was already running off. “See ya tomorrow!”
Clare just huffed.

Pokemon verse
Background One world. Two timelines. One person. Five Pokémon.
A planet where Pokemon and humans travelled freely without the fear of being hurt or punished. A place where there was no technology, no fighting, no evil. Humans lived in complete harmony with nature, surrounded by Pokémon both day and night. Legendaries were in peace with each-other and they didn’t need to hide.
Back in these peaceful times, Pokemon and Humans could have relationships without the fear of get persecuted. It was often a common situation that Pokemon often found their lifetime partners in humans, so common that no one ever thought that it was wrong. There were never any children born from these unions until the night of the rarely seen Blood moon.
With the birth of the newly born Dragon/human girl, the Legendaries started to hide for the peaceful times were nearly over. Humans started to build cities, destroying the environment around them. Pokemon fled in numbers from fear of their safety and the world split into regions.
As the times changed around her, Ami remained at the place where she was born. Safety zones hidden within the mountains for the Pokemon and half-humans, persecuted by those they once called family and friends. Left behind in an increasingly violent world, only those with open minds and pure hearts were allowed to seek the forgotten people.
Ami is half human/half Pokemon and the daughter of the Hoenn Legendary, Rayquaza. She prefers being around Pokemon or with the few pure human friends that she does have, including Lance, Professor Oak and Ash Ketchum. She doesn’t like being the centre of attention and most of her past is shrouded in mystery or so people like to say. Ami looks 18 but is actually far older than that and her Rayquaza form is silver and black. She has a full team of Pokemon, most of whom are as old or nearly as old as she is. Although Ami rarely battles, she is regarded by the Champions like Lance and Red as being on their level. She is the owner and founder of Dranix International, a company who mostly deals with medical things and Pokemon Reserves. As well as being the Leader of the Poke-humans, who live in protected areas like Mt Silver to prevent people using them.

Chapter 2: You should head back
Tumblr media
Wally Darling / GN Reader Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4 | Chapter 5 | Chapter 6 | Chapter 7 | Chapter 8
Rating: M
Summary:
The city is full of people. Then why did it feel so lonely? Memories of clinking bottles and dazzling neon lights flickered through your mind. Misty, car filled streets with humans, but no humanity. A bridge and a phonebooth. And a sweet voice that wanted you to come home. You’ve wandered too far, and you don’t know how to get back. But don’t worry! You’ve made some friends from a colourful town that can help you!

A low buzz of static hummed throughout your living room.
You were alone again.
It wasn’t new to be alone.
Your mom worked multiple shifts, and your teenage sister was often out late.
Your dad had been out of the picture for a long time.
You sat on the verdant shag rug as you leafed through the spines of old VHS tapes on your entertainment centre. Tempting titles such as Pokemon or Doraemon called for you to pick them, but there was one that you always meandered back to.
There was a worn, yellow plastic tape, the sticker long faded from years of use.
Welcome Home.
Your mom picked it out at a second-hand shoppe - probably to get you off her back while she shopped for other things.
It quickly became one of your favourite shows.
It felt like a nice little respite from the world. A home away from home.
You also loved the fact that the artist segment changes every time you watch it!
It must be a new feature for VCR players, because none of your other tapes did that!
You popped the VHS into the player, the gears winding the tape.
The rainbow show lit up the room, like a beacon of life in this dreary existence.
The opening title of the show rolled. You hummed to it as you got comfortable on the floor, your tiny legs kicking in the air as you lay on your stomach.
The segment started, the main character behind an easel peaking out, paintbrush in hand.
“Hello, neighbour!”
----
Your heavy eyelids blinked as consciousness pulled you out of your deep slumber. You sucked in a deep breath of air as you stretched your sore limbs.
What a day, yesterday.
You rolled to your side as the reality of waking up connected in your brain. You tiredly stared at the rows of storeroom shelves, internally cursing yourself.
Guess it was all real.
You fumbled out of your blanket cocoon and wobbled your way to the door. You were greeted with the same towering, multi-limbed creature from yesterday. There was something comforting about him today, though. He felt more realistic. Kind.
He was stocking his shelves dutifully before looking up to you. He held in a chuckle. “Good morning! You look like you slept well.”
You gave him a groggy ‘huh?’
He responded simply by pointing at your hair.
Your hand went up to touch the literal bird’s nest that sat on your scalp. You hurriedly ran your fingers through the locks, flattening out whatever imperfections. An embarrassed blush crossed your features.
He chuckled once again. “If you want, you can use the shower. I can find you a fresh pair of clothes.”
“You sell clothes?” Your sleepy voice cracked in surprise.
“More like I special order clothes for Julie. The only thing is that silly little girl always forgets to pick up her orders.”
You rubbed the sleep from your eyes. “Wouldn’t she be mad if you looked through her orders?”
He gave a dismissive wave of a hand as he moved his way to a few boxes behind the front counter. “If I told her that it was for you, she’d probably assume it was for ‘dress up party’ purposes. So I don’t think she’d mind.”
You tried not to think about the ethical and legal implications of going through your customer’s stuff. Arguing probably wouldn’t help you in this case.
He pulled out a pair of high waisted flare jeans and a muted rainbow top. He offered them with one set of hands, while the others went to seal the boxes back up.
Dang, multitasking to the extreme.
You gratefully accepted the clothes. “You sure this is okay…?”
He gave you a caring smile, dismissing your concern, “Go get washed up.”
You bowed your head in thanks, padding your way to the bathroom.
**
A shower will help you feel human again in this insane puppet world.
Turning on the faucet, hot steam clouded the tiny washroom. Dipping into the warm waters, you felt your woes and worries wash down the drain.
Your mind wandered to Howdy. He sure helped you a lot. His generosity knows no bounds. Maybe you should help him in some way? Maybe pay back your debt by cleaning up the bodega a bit?
Yeah, that sounds good. It must be hard being the only worker.
You stepped out of the shower, wrapping a spare towel around your body. You swiped a hand across the clouded mirror, giving a good look at yourself.
That husk of a human from last night looked more alive. Colour was back in your face, and the fine lines around your eyes seemed to have lightened.
Those retinol treatments you were doing probably helped a lot with your complexion.
Despite everything, you’re still you!
Tossing on the retro styled clothes, you embarked on the new day.
**
”What can I do to help?”
“Really, you don’t need to do anything.”
You released a stubborn sigh, arms folding across your chest. You stared at the bug man from across the counter. “I really want to help you, Howdy. I want to help pay off my debt.”
The salesman weighed the options. He gave a resigned sigh. “Alright, but you have to follow the price guides of the bodega!”
You quirked a brow. “Price guides?”
He gestured to the ‘100% off!’ sign on the window pane.
Your brows furrowed as you scoffed. “How does that even work?”
“Well, people pay in jokes, ideas, or observations!” He then pointed to an apple display adjacent to the front counter. A sign on it read ‘1 Apple for 1 Joke’.
There’s no way these silly Muppets live in capitalism-free town. “How does commerce even work, then? How do you pay for goods being imported to your shop?”
Howdy put a finger up to his lips as he smirked. “Trade secrets! Maybe you’ll find out some day, young Grasshopper!”
You released a defeated huff.
“Besides, there’s more to life then pointless currency. Sometimes the most valuable things are your friend’s company and wise words!”
They really did live in a commune. In a sense, you envied them.
The morning tolled on, and he instructed little things on how he ran the bodega. You helped by stocking some shelves and sweeping the floors. Before you knew it, it was midday.
The door chimed as a pair of customers sauntered in. Your breath hitched as you saw a 7 foot, bumbling blue dog plod through the doorway. You were tempted to hide behind a shelf,… that is, until your eyes landed on the shorter man walking behind him.
A smile stretched across your face, “Hello, Wally!”
The cardigan-clad puppet gave you an all-encompassing grin, “Hello, neighbour!”
“Oh, is this the kid you were talking about?” the dog rumbled in a deep baritone.
Your skin prickled at the term ‘kid.’ You were quite obviously not a kid.
Wally regarded the towering puppet with a nod. The giant mock Blue’s Clues character offered a wave, “Welcome to Home! The next Big City this side of the forest! I’m Barnaby, by the way.”
You assuaged the temporary anger and introduced yourself with a little wave. Howdy, who was behind the front counter, called out to the new patrons. “What can I get for you fellas?”
Barnaby put up two fingers, “Two hot dogs, please!”
“Two dogs wrapped in yellow and red bow ties, with all the fixin's, comin’ right up!” The caterpillar’s limbs went to work as he swiveled around to the hot dog machine. He loaded the dogs up with whipped cream, onions, ketchup, mustard, and a cherry.
Imagining the taste made you shiver.
He offered the food to the pair, while another set of hands punched in the order on the cash register. “And how will you be paying today?”
Barnaby gave a smug smile. “Why did the baby cookie cry?”
A pause.
“Its mother was a wafer so long.”
Howdy erupted in a boisterous laugh, one of his hands going down to slap his knee. Even you smirked at the atrocious dad joke. He rubbed a tear away from his eye as he regarded Wally. “And how about you?”
Wally gave his signature hum as he rolled his head to the side. “What do you call an insect who can’t get out of bed?”
You peered at him expectantly.
“A bedbug!”
Howdy offered a sympathetic chuckle, the joke not landing as hard as Barnaby’s. He punched the jokes on the register, the receipt screeching out as it was printed.
“You tried, fella,” Barnaby put a big paw on Wally’s shoulder.
“Can’t top the town jokester, after all,” the smaller puppet winked up at his friend and they both chuckled.
With hot dogs in hand, they started to make their way out. As Barnaby ducked out of of the tiny doorframe, Wally stood in place for a moment.
It felt like minutes pass until he finally regards you. “Would you like to come with us? We can introduce you to the rest of the neighbours.”
You bit the inside of your cheek as you considered. You still felt guilty about not paying back all of what Howdy has done for you.
“Go meet everyone, Grasshopper,” the voice next to you pulled you out of your thoughts, the new nickname cooling any form of anxiety that you harnessed. “You can’t figure out how to get out of here without friends, right?”
You offered Howdy a kind smile. “Thanks.”
He shooed you off with your new friend, allowing you to step free into the rainbow world of Home.
Wally and you caught up to Barnaby, who was happily snacking on his treat.
**
The three of you trekked throughout the colour radiant town, making pit stops in front of each of the townsfolk’s homes.
The first person you all ran into was the mailman, Eddie. He curtly greeted himself, but just as quickly excused himself to get back to work.
You watched him run off into the distance before regarding your friends. “You reckon he’d know the roads out of here?”
Wally tilted his head as he observed you, still just casually holding his hot dog. “I think his route takes him further from the City.”
You gave a sad, thoughtful hum before Wally and Barnaby, the persuasive of friends, convinced you to meet with every one of the neighbours.
Poppy, who lived in a barn, was elated to see you again. She gave praises and crooned over how you were a ‘poor lost duckling.’ She vowed to cook for you if you ever needed food for the trip.
The next new person was a literal star who lived in a theatre. Sally was an eccentric puppet who was working on a set for an upcoming play. When you spoke to her about your story, you can tell she was taking internal notes. Please, Sally, don’t make your lost voyage into a Shakespearean tragedy.
Julie was as excited as ever to see you again. She complimented your outfit, stating that it looks ‘oddly familiar.’ Hm. You wonder why. She offered if you needed anymore clothes, she’s always willing to play dress up.
Frank was out in his lawn, taking notes on a butterfly perched on a flower. You all decided not to bother him. Butterfly watching seemed stressful, as is.
Now you all stood in front of Barnaby’s doghouse. He was hungrily staring at Wally’s hot dog, who, to your humour, was carrying the snack around like it was a show and tell specimen.
“You going to finish that, buddy?” Barnaby rumbled.
Wally shook his head and offered the undisturbed snack to his friend. The dog practically wolfed the food down in a blink.
The yellow puppet clapped his hands to get the remaining crumbs off his palms while Barnaby wiped the remnants on his own forearm.
“I think this is a wonderful day to sun bathe,” Barnaby started before dipping into his yard. “You guys comin’?”
Wally hummed at the offer before shaking his head politely, “I still need to show them Home.”
Barnaby gave a carefree shrug, “Suit yourself. Y’know where to find me.” With that, he sauntered into his littered yard and found a nice batch of grass to plop down on.
You regarded Wally with a quirked brow, “’Home’? Isn’t that just the town name?”
He tutted with a tiny smirk, “Silly, silly.” He didn’t explain, instead marched up the hill to the centre of town. A red house sat on the crest, it’s windows watching you.
Wait… watching?
You stumbled back as you stifled a yelp, the giant windows blinking at your reaction. You tried to scramble behind the short puppet man.
He simply shook his head with a chuckle. He gestures to the sentient house, “This is Home! This is where I live!”
Home made some thumping noises in greeting.
You sucked in a breath as you watched in horror. Your hand came up to grasp your forehead. “Okay, I finally accepted puppets. Houses now? I must be dead. There’s no way this is real.”
“If you’re dead,” Wally looked back at you with sleepy eyes, voice nonchalant, “then this must be heaven!”
You swallowed thickly, not sure how to process his words. You sucked in another big breath to calm your trembling body and forced a weak wave at Home.
Home waved its shutters in greeting.
Well… it’s not trying to eat you like Monster House. Maybe it really isn’t that bad?
Wally broke his barrier between you and Home, making you feel exposed and vulnerable. He maneuvered his way to an easel that sat just outside his home. He placidly began to pack up the art supplies that was left outside. A half painted picture of an apple lay on the canvas, probably abandoned this morning as he opted to hang with Barnaby.
The tension you held in your shoulders ease as you watch his easygoing pace.
There really is a charm about him that can ease your worries.
He briefly glanced back to catch you staring, a soft smile gracing his plush lips. “Penny for your thoughts?”
A blush shot to your face as you looked away, embarrassed. Your heart hammered as you focused on anything but him. You cleared your throat as a thought began tumbling out, “It’s nice here, but I’m wondering if… maybe you have any suggestions on how to leave?”
Wally noticeably tenses. He was quiet for a few beats, his lazy eyes never leaving yours. “I suppose I can paint you a map! But…”
He paused, his expression softening, tone becoming more sympathetic. “It must have been pretty serious for you to get lost like you did. Do you really want to go back? You wouldn’t be a burden here in Home! You’re always welcome.”
It felt like time stood still as his words washed over you.
There was a heaviness to it all, something akin to scratching at a mental scab. A truth that you didn’t want to uncover the band aid of.
You stood in silence as you mulled over the implications.
He watched you as your thoughts clouded your features. He observed the storm in your brain get cloudier before deciding to intervene. He extended a hand out to caress your arm, the felt touch anchoring you back to reality. His voice was low and pleasant, “Take your time. It’s a big decision, and there’s no need to rush. I’ll be here for you if you need it.”
The pressure from your jaw released, the tension that built up now toppled like building blocks.
He really was a good person.
“Thank you, Wally.”
He only offered a cute feline-like smile. **
It wasn’t long before the sky became a vibrant array of pinks and blues. The sun was settling just over the horizon as you and Wally decided to part from each other.
You made your way back to Howdy’s Place, giving the caterpillar a quiet greeting. He was starting to close up shop, and you decided to help him - much to his dismay.
With the two of you, the shop was closed and cleaned in record time.
He wiped the sweat off his brow, his face bearing a proud smile. “You really help a lot, young grasshopper.”
You shrugged. “It’s the least I can do.”
He shook his head with a chuckle. “You should eat some food. I think I have a spare salad in the back.”
You blinked at the thought of eating. Come to think of it, you didn’t feel hungry at all today.
How strange.
You decided to chock it up to stress from a new environment.
You thanked him for his generosity before wishing him a good night. You dipped into the backroom to locate the fresh greens. Chomping on the leaves, your mind wandered to the day.
The day felt… nice. Almost surreal.
You almost felt like you belonged.
But… you really should head home.
… Right … ?

Do you have any opinions on the lodge stories so far? Whose lodge story is your favorite? Or, do you have some sort of Top 3 Lodge Story?
So, as soon as I got this, I was like...oh shit.  I can't remember most of the Lodge stories.  Like I do not remember anything of over half of these.  Which is probably telling of how...kinda uninteresting a lot of these are. A lot of them tread old ground or are pretty bare bones; very few give new information or really delve into something.
As an easy top three from memory: Gladion, Adaman, Irida.  Gladion actually ended on a really interesting note, with his internal fear of losing people close to him being driven by the events of the main game.  It's actually really interesting and one of the better stories for a character.  Adaman because he gets fixated on his iPhone and is a menace, Irida for the comedy of learning about virtual reality.  Those two were great.  That said, I had to revisit these so I could remember what the hell they even talked about, so to go over each:
Blue: Kinda bland, being focused on him training you and all that.  Currently the most infuriating one by miles because we openly acknowledge that he's a better teacher than Red because Red's silent and doesn't mesh well with people, only for fourth anniversary to shit all over that.  Thanks, DeNA.  2/10
Leaf: Benign but somewhat cute.  I do love the bit in the second half about Blue teasing her about the cuddling thing.  Like of course people cuddle, but if you tell her no she gets really dejected.  It's really cute.  7/10.
Giovanni: Stupid.  "Ooh, I'm so ambiguously evil despite never accomplishing anything, you'd risk yourself to save this Pokemon."  Fuck off.  1/10.
Silver: Friendship Hour.  Benign but cute enough.  I have an affinity for this character type so it's endearing to me.  6/10.
Morty: Lunatic hour.  Let's go meet up with ghosts.  Excitedly tells you about ghosts and jokes about dying.  Fun character in general.  6/10.
May: Benign and kinda bland.  Did you know May does field work and makes secret bases?  3/10.
Steven: Relatively cute.  Talks about potential and what excites him about his interests in a way that isn't just talking about rocks again.  Not the most exciting, but fine.  6/10.
Cynthia: Cynthia's my girl, and I do actually like this one more than I remembered.  She talks about how champions change, and that being someone significant isn't intrinsic to the title, then you get the introduction of Cynthia liking piano and having a deep interesting in music as a new angle to her character.  I think these events are best when they have something new that we don't already know, and this is a good one, even if it's not the deepest.  8/10.
Dawn: I kinda like this one too.  Dawn's interested in all sorts of things, and it starts with stuff we know, like performances and the sweets from Palentine's.  But the focus on not knowing what to make Her Thing in that sense is endearing, and it's a neat presentation for her character that isn't seen outside of this conversation.  8/10.
Adaman: Honestly I love this one.  Just calling you up at like 5am to demand your presence because he made you breakfast, and the recognition of the phone being used to take up people's time.  This one's fun, and it has a nice blend of what we know about Adaman (impatient) with fun new stuff (phone, he can cook apparently).  9/10.
Irida: Similar to Adaman, a good blend of what we know (flute, focus on space), and new (virtual reality, her response to needing all sensations of a place).  9/10.
Rosa: Similar to Dawn, in that her focus is on doing something else she loves in addition to the Champion thing.  Lands on movies, as a thing we already knew, so I don't feel as much impact from it, but it's fine.  5/10.
N: Admittedly kinda boring?  Like it's fine, but it's all fixation on stuff we know: that he was raised how Ghetsis wanted, that he loves the ferris wheel, that he wants to change the world and how people and pokemon interact, etc.  Nothing new or exciting in that sense.  4/10.
Elesa: On the one hand, this is a fairly neat approach, focusing on how fans are intimidated to meet Elesa directly, and what she's like outside of the limelight.  It's fine, but this is one of the heaviest "MC is such a special person for no reason" ones yet.  Like she even mentions Skyla, who doesn't count for some reason.  3/10.
Sycamore: Benign but fine.  I do like his research topic but they don't push much we don't know already.  The cafe is also very in line with what's known.  4/10.
Serena: Similar to Leaf, it's a lot we know, focusing on her fashion and PR video fixation.  But it's fairly cute so it's fine.  5/10.
Calem: Very similar, Calem's into style, but we do get that he worked with Furfrou grooming so there's something.  5/10.
Lillie: Lillie's coasting on being cute.  She makes you a doll even though she's not great at sewing and wants to thank you for...something.  Like the lesson she'd learned was in the main games, but MC fixation I guess.  It's cute though.  6/10.
Acerola: Actually kinda sweet.  Starts with the known focus of her getting stuff for the kids at Aether House, pivots into what she wants to do and you taking her around and letting her be a kid.  It's fairly sweet.  8/10.
Gladion: Actually super good, I wasn't expecting anything from him, but they swung with the fear of losing his family and how connection can break and he'll lose people and how fearful he is of that.  It's fantastic character building that goes beyond the other top performers, focusing on an actual aspect of him as a person rather than an interest or encountering a new thing and seeing the reaction.  10/10.
Marnie: It's fine.  I feel like I should have more attachment to Marnie than I do.  The difficulty expressing is an interesting angle, and including expressing anger here was a good move, even if it falls back on the smile practice thing that I think I just find weird.  I dunno.  I'm all about unemotional characters learning emotions but usually by organic means, rather than trying to push the smile physically up.  5/10.
Raihan: Again, fine.  The discussion around Leon's attitude against his is neat, the knowledge that he's actually pretty good at figuring out outfits is new.  I dunno, it's fine.  I may be tiring out on these, or I'm just being pissy about Galar again.  6/10.
Gloria: Camping, curry, I do like the focus on "this is a good way to get people to open up," feels very in the style of that guy who gets people back to his place by talking about his stew.  Nothing too exciting.  5/10.

Since Ash has just departed from the anime and new protagonists are going to replace him I figured I'd ask. How would you do the same for your own OCs in the Cactusverse?
Hi there namelessbaron! Good question! This is kind of standard for cactusverse honestly since it is a primarily gameverse-centric AU (breakdown of canon influences goes 80% games, 10% manga 10% anime) basically when the credits roll for the game that's when the main story for the protagonist ends. While the protagonists (both OCs and Canon) may show up in different regions at various times they only are in the spotlight once. Of course after the credits roll they still have lives that continue. From Hisui to Paldea Akari continues being part of the Survey Corps while also helping her mom and Cogita preserve as much of the Celestica people's history as they can. Red (after being talked down Mt. Silver) continues being a traveling trainer until he gets thrown to Hisui where he becomes even more of a living legend than he already is. When he gets back and regains his memories he ends up deciding to settle down for a bit in Alola at the Battle Tree May divides her time between conquering the battle frontier in Hoenn (and eventually Sinnoh) while also helping her dad Professor Birch out with research.
Dawn after the whole distortion world events is just over battling for a bit and decides to take up contests like her mom does but eventually with the help of Barry she does regain her love for battling.
Ethan after beating Red on Mt. Silver decides he wants to join Silver in becoming a G-man to help protect not only Johto and Kanto but other regions across the world.
Jack gets his butt handed to him by Leon and loses his title of Galar champion and because of the multiple crimes he committed that gym challenge season goes to jail. Hilbert after beating Alder decides to look for N and travels the world just always just missing N whenever he tracks him down. He eventually goes back to Unova and reunites with N and his friends/family. He decides to help N, Hugh and the rest of the good part of Team Plasma reunite people with their stolen Pokemon Cami after becoming champion and finding the lost Kanto Trio (Red/Blue/Leaf) and helping them regain the memories they lost from being transported to Unova finishes up medical school and goes to work as a doctor on Poni Island.
Rosa after helping to rid Unova of Team Plasma for good decides to split her time between the Pokemon World Tournament and Pokestar Studios Jabari spends a good portion of his time repairing the reputation of the Kalos League after their disastrous handling of the Team Flare incident. He also becomes a grand duke at the Battle Chateau Marsha works with Kukui to help establish the Alolan league while maintaining Alolan culture and helping to rehabilitate Team Skull
Calla works on improving the reputation of Poison-type Pokemon (particularly Eternatus) but eventually decides to go back to school and become a Pokemon Professor Valen begins to work with Looker and the International Police in being an Ultra-Space Explorer to help return Ultra Beasts back to their home dimension Raihan after he obtains champion Rank in Paldea returns home to Galar to finally defeat Leon and then they run the Battle Tower together!

Lunar forms of the base starters in the region. However unlike other regions in this one the starters are offered by the main characters mom, who may or may not be more involved in someway in everything than one may think, then she gifts a pokedex claiming to have gotten it from a friend awhile ago but that the main character will probably have more use in it than she will.
The rival is the main character’s sister who gets the other starter with the mom keeping the last remaining starter.
The starters have hardly ever been seen as very few of it or even its evolutions are owned in this region, none that the main character will battle or find out has one.
Top is normal and bottom is shiny.
Evolutions will be drawn up later. For right now I am starting with the base forms.
Region: A region of eternal night as scientists created plants that could grow in moonlight, though there is some places that try to create artificial lights for the plants that couldn’t grow in the moonlight. The moon still changing to different fullness percents with times there is no moon visible.
Region name: Lunar region.
Type: Chikorita fire. Fennekin water. Piplup grass.
Ability: Chikorita blaze. Fennekin torrent. Piplup overgrow.
Description: Chikorita is a fire type pokemon that constantly has its fire blazing and if the blaze is low it usually an indication that something is wrong, such as being really sick. This pokemon is able to walk across hot coals and in fact will even enjoy laying on hot coals for a bed if available. It can shot ember like fire balls from its mouth, mostly as a defense mechanism, though is known to not be able to shoot out a full blast of flames. It prefers warm or even hot food over any sort of cold food and will even turn away food that is visibly very wet, which it is believed that this is because took much wetness can harm it due to its internal parts tending to be on the warmer side. It does stick by a trainer that has gained its trust, which can actually be quite easy with this pokemon, and even keep it warm with its flame if the trainer is cold.
Fennekin is a water type pokemon that is built for colder water temperatures. It has extra fluff in order to keep itself warm during even ice cold swims without any issues. It’s ears are on the larger side and is able to pick up sounds underwater from across the distance of an entire lake. It has a transparent second eyelid that it can shift to cover its eyes to allow it to see underwater without issue. It mostly swims using its paws to paddle around easily, though if it needs to increase its speed then it will spin its tails around like a propeller to shoot itself forward; the speeds it can reach when using its tails is actually measured to be 298KM/H with the fastest Fennekin being clocked in as moving 321KM/H which is a record no other Fennekin has managed to beat... But this Fennekin passed away after living a full life with its beloved trainer so a statue was placed outside of a racetrack stadium in remembrance. It is the most sought after for the record one made, though anyone who owns one is very picky about anyone they breed one for to not make this pokemon just one to push to try to beat a record. It will stick by its trainer though will wander the house also liking its own alone time. It prefers land to water though is able to hold its breath for two hours underwater. It can even float effortlessly usually to relaxingly paddle around the surface for a relaxing small swim.
Piplup is a grass type pokemon who is known to make its own beds out of leaves it can find. It creates birdhouse like nests for itself with these leaves and only will let its trainer even so much as peek inside. It will also make leaf wraps for other pokemon the trainer owns if that pokemon so much as shivers. It does this as since it cares for its trainer than anything else that the trainer owns or cares about is seen as important to this pokemon. It will even try to defend its trainers home from anyone who steps onto the property line if it feels that person is a threat. It enjoys laying in areas of simulated sunshine especially by a window that it can look outside of at any point without having to get up. Its head leaf will raise three centimeters at most when in strong simulated sunlight. It also really enjoys being lightly watered with anything that matches with the flow of a watering can.
Lore: Chikorita in the past was overhunted as its fire power to be drained to warm homes. To the point that in the present there are not very many remain, alternative measures of warming up homes have since been made as technology advanced so these pokemon were no longer hunted for this. Its overhunting became stories to help teach people on how to avoid hunting pokemon to extinction. It is highly protected though a few people have one to teach children about the wrongs of the past to harness its power, by forcing it to spit up fire until it no longer could, thus becoming used more as a program pokemon than a battle pokemon. It is thus seen as not really a threat in a fight and so its power tends to be underestimated whenever it is sent into battle; which isn’t often due to being seen more as a program pokemon. However due to it being overhunted to help warm homes thus caused the belief that if a house went up in flames, from the heating system failing, people would claim that it is because it is the vengeful spirit of the pokemon that were used to make it instead of it being faulty equipment.
Fennekin used to be believed to not be a water type pokemon when it was first discovered. It used to be believed that reports of its activity in the water were pushed aside as if anyone that claimed it were liars. With any water attacks it can do, mainly bubble beam, were seen as just a move it is able to learn like other pokemon who can learn moves not of its type. A lot of people believed that this pokemon was actually flying until finally its water activities were finally proven to people strongly enough for them to accept it. They used to be only found in colder locations in the past though it become more widespread across the land. Until its numbers went down during a time when low water levels hit across the region for two years, only three and a half years before the eternal night hit the land, where these pokemon were put into basically slavery along with other water type pokemon that don’t need to live in water to cool people down. This caused its numbers to go down a lot as many got neglected to be squeeze money from people to take advantage of the situation at hand. Now it is only owned by those who are more willing to take care of it and are picky about who they send any spare ones from breeding to. It has become seen as a pokemon that should only be owned by those who are willing to go the extra mile to show the care it deserves from the hardship that the species suffered years ago.
Piplup was first discovered by some adventurers who when they reported their sightings were believed to be mistaking some new plant for a pokemon. It wasn’t until a live specimen was caught that people found out it was real. It is a very cautious pokemon that blends into forest like surroundings easily. It prefers to hide and try to blend in to not be found if it doesn’t trust someone. It is rumored to even have first started life as an icy tundra kind of pokemon that went to look for a place with more food, thus changing into the grass pokemon that is known today, despite that there isn’t any proof of such a theory being true. It became used in the past to create nests for pokemon of those who are willing to pay plenty of money for it. It was thus only owned by those who are business people with money so its numbers remained on the lower side. It is seen as masters of building high quality nests hence its high status in the past, before more options for pokemon to rest in at their own homes became more widespread. Its nests are still sold at high prices as an even more luxurious nest for a pokemon to rest in compared to the past. It is the inspiration behind the designs of pokemon beds that are sold as it is believed to be the best of the best designs.
Design inspiration: Chikorita: Quilava design, fire type pokemon that have fluff on them, and general fire type pokemon colors.
Fennekin: Tails from Sonic, Vaporeon (it may not seem like it but while doing Fennekin’s design I kept thinking of this pokemon), Buizel line, and Warrior cat fan designs with fluffy neck fur.
Piplup: Chikorita’s leaf on its head, Chikorita’s evolutions with leaves/flower around its neck, and general penguin look.
For all: Good shiny versions of pokemon like shiny pokemon with blue flames or even fan versions of Leafeon shiny version based on autumn colors.
Lunar region is a region that I have thought about making. I will be making more Pokémon and variants for this region.

Leaf Green Part 8: Descent into Postgame
So after beating FRLG, if you want to transfer in or out of Pokemon Box (y’know, the Gamecube game) you have to do the Sevii Islands postgame stuff.  And so I did, it’s like two short dungeons.  This also causes one of the three legendary dogs to start roaming.  Because I started with Charmander, I got Suicune.  I cheesed it a little with Max Repels to make the process go faster.  I also caught all the legendary birds, and Mewtwo.  There’s another unique Pokemon you can get from postgame; if you sail out to a little island an NPC will give you a Togepi egg.
In postgame Sevii Islands you have access to a breeding daycare, but I haven’t used it yet.  I actually don’t need to, because I specifically want Charmander and Charmeleon for my Fire Red’s living Pokedex, not my Leaf Green playthrough that will get deleted when I’m done with it.  And in any case, I still haven’t completed the ‘necessary’ (yeah I know) character growth for Eliza and Konstantin to willingly (YEAH, I KNOW) start making eggs.
You know that cliche high school plot where the teacher makes students take care of an egg or a bag of flour, as sort of a practice baby?  We’re doing that.
Tumblr media
I made them take care of the Togepi egg.  Neither Eliza nor Konstantin are allowed to leave the party until the egg is hatched and evolved.  Hatching was easy, since I was running around catching legendaries anyway.  Out popped a standard issue Togepi.  Her name is Pietrina and she has a Relaxed nature.
Tumblr media
Evolving is a different challenge.  Friendship evolutions are kind of annoying in FRLG.  There’s only one grooming npc (as opposed to the two in GSC), and friendship-raising berries only exist from Emerald and onward.  But, did you remember that FRLG has no internal clock?  Instead of grooming a Pokemon once daily, Daisy will groom your Pokemon every 512 steps.  So I just cheesed that out by running around Pallet Town a lot.
Imagine Eliza and Konstantin, forced to run around the world without dropping an egg.  And then, they’re forced to run around Pallet Town with this baby.  Eventually I got her friendship up to the right range, then took her out to get a few levels up.
It was Konstantin’s idea to take her to Cerulean Cave.  The encounters there are high level, sure, but he also has a weird fixation with the place.  In this life, he was caught in Lavender Tower.  In FRLG you can’t even find Cubone/Marowak in Cerulean Cave.  But in his hazy, deleted past this was his home.  He wants it to be a special, symbolic place.  So we put an Exp. Share on Pietrina and walked around a little with Konstantin at the front of the party.  A few levels later, we have a lovely Togetic.
Tumblr media
Friendship evolutions feel like they take forever, but in the inconsistent ‘time’ of a Pokemon playthrough, it’s not really enough time to grow up.  I’ve kept Pietrina’s design as being very young, but she’s not an actual baby anymore.  She’s thoroughly out of the egg stage.  Eliza and Konstantin have readily accepted her as their own, and I’m hoping they’ll be interested in hatching a couple more eggs soon...

Bud Update
Tumblr media
Fun life update about Bud(the above image) ,one of Bud’s children , and some of Bud’s grandchildren.
As most can tell Bud is a pokemon made from three grafted cutting. In particular of a Blackbarrie varent Oddish , a Chianti varent sunkern and a Climbing Rugosa Budew. For a little bit of background info A little while after I became Bud’s caregiver they rooted themselves to the ground and from their oddish component grew a blackberry bush whose fruit were found able to produce progeny. Under ordinary circumstances and much less severe grafts fruit , seeds , splices and egg generated by components pieces would still be of the same species and variant they came from. Most of Bud’s children didn’t. In fact many of Bud’s progeny develop traits and characteristics not found in blackberry variant Oddish at all some even clearly showing signs of hybridization . Most took on the characteristics of other closely related variants such as raspberry ,Dewberry and Longberry variant Oddish . A few even develop the traits of what I thought at the time where completely unrelated variants of oddish such apple ,tomato and corn variant .
My working theory as to why most of Bud’s progeny developer so uniquely is because they are so significantly grafted. While appearing healthy on the outside there may be invisible stressors on Bud’s anatomy that effect the epigenetic’s of the reproductive material and by extension their children. Meaning that not only would cases of Atavisms and/or hybridization be possible but probable that any progeny they produce would likely possess unique traits. My theory was further collaborated when I ran a DNA ancestry test on a leaf from Bud’s oddish components and found that all of Bud’s oddish children that weren’t Blackberry variants where probably expressing traits possessed by Bud’s parents ,grandparents and etc.
Tumblr media
This is Radish , their one of Bud’s progeny and are cared for by Alexandria of Alexandria‘s home for wayward wonders ( @alex-ishvan ). They like many of their sibling are very unique. Possessing a variety of traits associated with Atropa belladonna variant oddish ,and a uncommon pigmentation . Alexandria and I believe that radish is a case of both Atavisms and hybridization possessing the reactivated traits of a distant ancestor and the limited active genetics of it sunkern Parent. Somewhat recently Radish rooted them self to ground and produce a nightshade bush from their body that like their progenitor blueberries that could produce offspring (see here ). in a full circle Alexandra send me some seed to raise and I begin process of growing them (see here).
Something odd appears to be happening to Radish’s progeny. Ordinary even hybrids will only produce Standard or near standard counterparts of their maternal mothers species when reproducing unless they are being affected by some sort of stresser . The environmental stressors that causes DNA to unwind from histones generally don’t occur repeatedly through the generations . So I am confused as to why all of Radish’s documented children appear to be hybrids or hybrids with Atavisms. Especially since Radish them self seems so healthy and I know well taken care of. perhaps more information should be gathered about how Radish functions on a internal or cellular level but from what I can tell all of the oddish I grown from Radish’s seed are significantly hybridized with many recognizably Atavistic traits.
i’ll have further updates About the individual ones under my care soon but I want to collect and organize my notes more concise.

I will warn for anyone not from the US/Canada/UK/Australia that I really only speak english and a little Spanish (not well), and learning a new language through this would be fun but I likely will use the internet to translate quite a bit at first, so sorry if it's not great. (Please don't let that be a discouragement though, like I said I'd love to learn a new language)
You can contact me on tumblr or Instagram at @ace-fandom-dumbass (same both places) or at [email protected] .
It might take me a bit to respond, I'm going to be gone for about a week coming up, but I'll get back to anyone as soon as I get back!
Erm, I hope I didn't forget anything! Thanks!
