Logen looked at his bloody hands, slowly turning them over and over. They were his hands, no doubt. There was the missing finger. ‘Nothing’s changed,’ he mumbled to himself. Bayaz straightened up, brushing the dirt from his knees. ‘When has it ever?’ He held out the sword out to Logen, hilt first. ‘I think you’ll still be needing this.’ Logen stared at the blade for a moment. It was clean, dull grey, just as it had always been. Unlike him, it showed not so much as a scratch from the hard use it had seen that day. He didn’t want it back. Not ever. But he took it anyway.

Watched Before and After (1995) last night and it was honestly phenomenal.❤️ I’m all about films that just have a situation/problem going on and the characters react to it with real, raw emotion and deal with it just as you would in reality. Real life problems with meaning and lessons learned. Liam Neeson and Meryl Streep were fantastic as usual and Edward Furlong... My first celeb/actor crush ever! 😅😂❤️

I hope tate stays in prison and rots. He moved to romania, made a mockery of how the police can be bribed there so he could get away with anything, bounced around, then got beaten up in moldova with his brother for trying to pick up local girls there (remember when he converted to islam? And only talked about how only women were going to hell Lmao all haram what he was doing but whatever), then left for Dubai to brag about laws there being so perfect (hot bed for sex trafficking by men there too) only to come back to Romania, harass a teenager because shes focused on the environment on twitter and get his ass handed to him by not only her but the LOCAL POLICE OF ROMANIA FOR SEX TRAFFICKING God is good and his timing is perfect lmaooo
God is sooo good tbh. It was such a good year for Black women too since several media figures who publicly disrespected us got into serious trouble this year:
Kevin Samuel, a Black incel guru, who made his entire branding on dunking on Black women got found dead after having sex with a prostitute. What a tragic end for a man who mocked Black women for being ugly, masculine and fated to end alone. But ultimately dude is the one who died wasted, alone, found by a prostitute in a hotel room. Tragic🤍
Nikita Dragun, a transwoman who is known to say transwomen look better than real women and argued women stole their style from transwomen, and once made a "Imagine being Black? I could never" tweet, got jailed in a MALE prison after assaulting police officers (thank God such a menace wasn't allowed in a women's prison)
Tory Lanez found guilty for shooting Megan Thee Stalion💅🏾 As a reminder, Megan has been clowned for years over this, with incels and brainwashed women saying she lied, never got shot, etc.
2022 has been avenging Black women left and right and I'm really grateful for that🤍
Back to Tate.
I'm absolutely APPEALED by the amount of conservatives and antis obsessively using Epstein and Ghislaine as some sort of gotcha to deflect from whatever is coming for Tate. A few days ago I already called out Conservatives lack of consistency when it came to call out evil doers depending on whether they were favoring them or not. That's why then went off against Kim for the whole Balenciaga scandal, while not peeping a word about Kanye who was as much linked to this company since he ran catwalk for them a few months prior to this fiasco.
By frantically being like "b-but what about Ghislaine/Prince Andrew!!!" they show that they don't care about sexual trafficking/pedo networks, otherwise, they wouldn't downplay the fact that one (alleged) offender responsible over the fact that others are roaming free. Yes, other criminals have to be prosecuted, but people aren't allowed to celebrate one being down?? Should we, like, prosecute Everyone offender in the same time so yall finally stop deflecting on anothers to downplay such achievement?? "bUt wHat abOut EpSTeIn LiSt???" Tate is THE list. Those idiots are so hyperfocused on Epstein they can't remotely handle the fact that several networks can coexist🤦🏾‍♀️
Tate being jailed doesn't mean no other offender isn't going to get busted anyway but these people looooove acting like people couldn't care about more than one predator. "people rejoicing at Tate have been reaaal silent about Ghislaine/Epstein" is such a retarded strawman that is easily disproven by the fact that there are countless of people (and yes, even Liberals/Leftists) actually who exposed this scandal and have bee asking for names....
And let's not forget how these idiots don't seems to understand that the Romania police did it's job by arresting an offender on its own soil. Why do they feel the need to talk about Ghislaine or prince Andrew when they're not Romanian citizens or on this country soil... If they have a problem with the UK or US police system not investigating their own share of offenders, they should address their grievances to their own police system and stop trying to deflect from the achievement of the Romanian police or bothering twitter users for not doing enough when this is the police job to bust criminals, not random netizens....
Look how they're defending Tate saying he "allegedly" sex trafficked people, when they've been arguing for years some people were straight up pedophiles just based off their name being on Epstein travel logs..... Sorry but the math ain't mathing : if you have the energy to argue someone is a pedophile bc they ordered pizza and travelled along Epstein, than you shouldn't be wishy washy to call Tate a sex trafficker with all the evidence that is around, especially when dude is pretty open about what he's doing (migrating to Romania itself is indeed super sus).
Tbh this hypocrisy is what's angering me more than Tate and his antics. Tate is an idiot but seeing other idiots acting like they were soooo much smarter than everyone in the room because they refuse to see the obvious is absolutely infuriating. They are so far up their own b*tthole they can't even manage to see the light of reason SMH

kurt was FANTASTIC in this episode and i need to rant about it for a moment. for my mental health.
Tumblr media
x men 97 does a great job of pulling on your heartstrings, and kurt contributes heavily to that. he continues to be the heart of the group and scenes like this continue to emphasize that. i love him so much.
and don't even get me STARTED on the fight scenes inside the mansion??? just look at his expression!
Tumblr media
my man is about to COOK. he's serving us a five star michelin meal and i had to replay this fight sequence about three times before i could move on with the rest of the episode.
Tumblr media
the animation for x men 97 has always been a delight, but seeing action sequences like the one inside the mansion is just *chef's kiss,* every flip and spin kurt does is so elegant and smooth. he's shown to be a consistently warm and gentle character, which is part of what makes him so lovable, but seeing him fight is always a pleasant surprise and reminds us that he's a much bigger threat than he appears to be. three sword style kurt wagner is magnificent. instant shot of dopamine to the brain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YA'LL.
YA'LL.
they actually animated the inside (inside??) of kurt's teleportation. the sound effect they use for it is music to my ears tbh. the way the scene slows down and it feels like you're being stretched thin as time ceases to exist, only for the scene to return to normal once kurt stops his teleportation!! poetic cinema!!
Tumblr media
there's so much more i could talk about but let me just say that i could never be part of the x-men because the minute i'd see kurt all semblance of rational thought is going out the window. would i risk it all for this man? yes. would i die in the process and be okay with that? absolutely. anyway, 10/10 episode. 100/10 character.

Silly Game Time: Who are some of your favorite mechanical characters, be they robots, androids, cyborgs, or something else? And what do like about them?
OOOOH...
Well, first, gotta mention my man Data.
Tumblr media
A lot of people has said that he is autism-coded in the way that he is presented, and in how other people react to him. And I kind of agree tbh. He's also just a sweetheart, and his bonds with the crew (especially Laforge), his cat Spot, and sometimes with people who are briefly onboard are so lovely.
I also feel I should mention Connor,
Tumblr media
Because his arc has probably inspired so many OCs at this point. Bryan Dechart did such an excellent job playing him, and his growing bond with Hank is very well-written. I think it's honestly touching how it's often emotional bonds that show humanity.
Another I feel would be a crime not to mention,
Tumblr media
Because between the iconic lines and the dynamic he has with John Connor, and the way it shapes his various decisions, how could I not? And yes I'm specifically talking Terminator 2 here. Though I will say he makes an EXCELLENT force of nature and presence of absolute horror in the first movie.
Then, of course, the sapphic community's favourite,
Tumblr media
Because "Want You Gone" hurts me on a personal level, and I don't just mean because it's how GLaDOS says farewell. I relate to that song so much (and did a cover of it :D) and, in general, relate with much of her story. Of course, she's a sassy motherfucker who you can't help but love. But for how much Portal 2 is considered the inferior game, it really does make her story into one of self-discovery and complicated morality. I guess it just gets overshadowed by Oh hi. How are you holding up.
Next,
Tumblr media
I MEAN. COME ON. This guy used to be, and honestly still is, one of my biggest fictional crushes. His charisma is magnetic, of course. His STORY being wrapped up by the connections he used to have being rekindled, resulting in him choosing to be a star for those who need one most, rather than a star for the most people possible???? Ugh, poetic cinema.
Speaking of stars,
Tumblr media
[vibrating] I have so many headcanons when it comes to this one But more to the point, Star Dream is an absolute force of nature. Its boss fight is incredible, an absolute marvel of multiple types of play styles coming together. The themes? Slap.
Star Dream's draw, for me, is that its sentience is so…debatable. I'm on the side of “had sentience the whole time”, and more to the point, “based on how much Haltmann copied homework, it's possible he brought something back from the dead” but I dunno, I don't like arguing my case when it comes to the second. The point is, for many of things that it does, it's uncertain whether that's just part of its program, or if it's a sentient decision. Was Susie sent away because of something accidental, or was it Star Dream's intention? The fact that Haltmann became so focused on its creation after her disappearance, in my eyes, kind of implies the latter…
… It's also interesting that even without Haltmann giving it a voice via him-being-possessed, it only chooses to speak to Meta Knight.
Can you tell I have The Kirby Autism, is it noticeable, is it obvious—
Also I'm gonna put two of my OCs here, because self-indulgence is alive and well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is Palharine and Mayday! They're my favourites out of a group of robot/android characters I created about three years ago, and have finally taken the time to draw recently:
Tumblr media
From left to right, you got Eodel Remidoros, Palharine, Mayday, and Ziah Hyperion. All very different interpretations of robotic.
Palharine and Mayday stand out to me due to their emotional states. They're kind of opposites, in that regard. Mayday is a very sensitive gal, who has been through a lot of pain, and is trying to become stronger so she can confidently say she has no doubt in who she is. Palharine, as far as they're aware, has no emotions. Which is interesting, since the other three all seem to, to some degree. Among the four, Palharine is also unique in that they're programmed to dream. Both of these things shape them a lot.
But these two have a very sweet bond, where they're both passionate about biology, especially botany. Mayday, in a training exercise, also nearly wipes the floor with Palharine. It's more touching than it sounds.
Also, Palharine's genderfluid and Maydays a trans woman, so those things just inherently spark joy for me, haha!
This has been, real robotic character hours.

Achilles Come Down (Gang of Youths)
The self is not so weightless, nor whole and unbroken/Remember the pact of our youth/Where you go, I’m going, so jump and I’m jumping/Since there is no me without you
How, the most dangerous thing is to love/How, you will heal and you'll rise above/Crowned by an overture bold and beyond/Ah, it's more courageous to overcome.
You may feel no purpose/Nor a point for existing/It's all just conjecture and gloom/And there may not be meaning/So find one and seize it/Do not waste your self on this roof
Soldier on, Achilles, Achilles, come down/Won't you get up off, get up off the roof?
"I'm sure you'll get other submissions for this one. I have no idea who this band even are outside of this song but it fucks me up like it does everyone else. It's the tragic love of it all. The desperation of trying to save your loved one from themselves. Or are the narrators of the song Achilles' own conscience representing his indecision on whether to kill himself or not? It can mean so many things and SO many parts of the lyrics are very poetic and powerful. (also again for me this makes me cry over a Specific Blorbo in this case Dimitri Blaiddyd but that doesnt matter)"
"The cellos in the background, the lyrics, telling the story of Achilles, the fact that it's fucking 7min long, it's beautiful, it breaks me to then pull me back together, it gave me hope in a moment where I wasn't in the best mental space, it's like getting undressed to your very soul only to be cover up with a weighted blanket afterwards and be told "it'll be alright." It's like that image with the guy that's like "this is cinema" but with a song, god I love this song so much"
"Ohhhg my god. It’s so. It’s a fucking heartbreaking song but it gives hope (^^see abovw lyrics. there may not be meaning so find one and seize it gets me the most). I can’t say anymore about it but yeah"
"Achilles is about to jump off the roof, his lover is trying to convince him not to. the vibe of this song itself is so unique, the violin and the segments of French reading really grip at your soul. Towards the end there are two voices seemingly arguing. One voice is Achilles’s inner monologue and the other is his lover trying to yell over it. This part is my favorite, especially if you’re envisioning your blorbo. Tbh in my darkest times I would fall asleep to the ten hour loop every night. It felt like laying on a rooftop and looking out at the stars and the street lights. I think maybe it kept me from doing things I would regret."
Sugarland (Papa Mali)
You see me standing on the highway/Don't ask me where I'm going/Because I am not going your way/I'm searching, trying to find my way/So I'm standing at the end of the cross road/Trying to find my self/And, how could I tell you/Because you don't really know
"It’s about a man going down to the crossroads to make a deal with a devil in the middle of sugarcane fields in Louisiana. This song sounds haunted, like there are spirits living in the melody. The vibes are paranormal, the vibes feel exactly like what it’s like to go wandering in southern Louisiana. Eerie to it’s core, and I’m utterly in love with this piece of music"

((I'm so frustrated right now. I keep seeing videos on Youtube saying that Ant-Man 3 is the worst way to end a trilogy or it's the worst MCU movie 'EVER' and other things. It's driving me nuts.
Can you do us a favour and tell us all the great things about it? 😭))
((GLADLY!!
*pulls out soap box and megaphone and stands on the box*
*speaking into megaphone* Testing, 1, 2, 3. Testing, 1, 2, 3.
Attention good people! I am here to remind you about the really good things about Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania! Because this movie deserves it!
First of all! To those who say this movie ripped off Star Wars, lemme tell ya, Scott Lang is a Star Wars nerd and if he was told a part of his life reminded people about Star Wars, he would eat that crap up!
And honestly, that was one of the coolest atmospheres I ever saw in an MCU movie. The Quantum Realm was beautiful and full of really creative creatures and landscapes and colors and it was better than I envisioned. I love how they portrayed the Quantum Realm.
While we're on this subject, the probability storm was ingenious and really fun to watch in my opinion. OF COURSE the QR would have something to that effect. It was an intriguing premise, and I would love to learn more just about probability storms in the QR tbh.
And what's even more beautiful is showing ALL of those Scott probabilities teaming up to help save Cassie because no matter what the challenge may be there is a 100% chance Scott Lang will do anything to help his daughter!
AND THEN if that wasn't enough, having all of Scott's probabilities and Hope's probabilities merging into one unit as if every probability led to them succeeding when they work as a team???? Poetic cinema, y'all!
I got ahead of myself, let's jump back to the beginning. Here we find Scott Lang living his best life, and I am here for it. He is successful, he is happy, he is loved, and he is loving people and life and getting the recognition he so rightfully deserves.
Those kids in the library dressed up as Ant-Man and with Ant-Man action figures and stuff? *cries* Scott deserves that.
And he also gets to enjoy life now. He gets to be a dad and tell dad jokes and finally relax and not have to worry about prison sentences or missing out on stuff or some crazy crisis pulling him away from his family. He's happy, and he's earned it.
Cassie calling Hank "Grandpa" gives me life.
Having my headcanon confirmed that one of Scott's favorite places to be is on top of the Golden Gate Bridge and him and Hope having a cute little date up there? I mean how cute are they?
Scott and Hank's relationship has grown so much, and it makes me happy like seriously. *so proud* "You read my book?" *so proud* "Every goddamn word." And when you read the book, there's a really nice interview there between Scott and Hank which makes that scene that much better to me now. Like it's wonderful.
People have been saying that Scott acted ooc in this movie, and I'm like no. No, he did not. He's not the same guy we met back in 2015. He's grown up some, he's figured some things out, he's got a better handle on life than he did back then, and he wants to protect and preserve it as much as he can. Especially Cassie's life and happiness. And why not? We all know he was like that before Endgame and then after Scott watching Tony with Morgan and knowing better than literally anyone else there (I take that back, literally everyone else there except for Doctor Strange of course) what Tony sacrificed...Scott's not ooc in this movie. He's growing. And good for him.
Paul Rudd's acting, I swear. He's amazing. The entire performance was phenomenal. Period.
This was a really good intro movie for Cassie as Stature. I'm really hoping that's what they'll go with because it sounds so much cooler than Stinger. And it's a really good intro because not only does she have her dad teaching her things midbattle that click for her later on, she is facing a ghost from her past that traumatized her. I think it was important she face Darren again. Facing him, evading him, and eventually overcoming him and her fear of him is a good jumpstart for Cassie, in tandem with the legacy her dad and grandad built, into this superhero role she so desperately wants. It was a growing moment for her too, and for her to realize that the monster that haunted her childhood wasn't a threat to her anymore was empowering for her. She's outgrown Darren Cross, and honestly, if I think about it a little more, there's a really good message for us in there too.
"This has been a weird day." Like Scott, my sweetheart, you're so relatable, I love you.
Could Hope have had a bigger role? Yes. *shrugs* I get what they were doing, but it could have been done better. But hey! She came in clutch at the end, which only underlines everything from AMATW: "Maybe you just need somebody watching your back, like a partner." And that's exactly what Hope is and did! My boy Scott was ready to make the sacrifice play yet again, and Hope swoops in and was like not alone you're not! All hail Queen Hope van Dyne!
And MicroSCOPE fans rejoice, I love you's happened! For those who are like "why didn't they kiss??" like hello? Covid restrictions, my dudes, so calm down.
Also what Hope's doing with that company of hers now? Like oh my gosh! She's doing what I've been saying Pym Tech should do with the shrinking technology, and I'm so glad Hope agrees because now I feel smart ;)
"She wasn't you, baby." Like please. I want someone to tell me this. That's love and devotion and a breath of fresh air from how Hank was in the comics.
Alright, I know you all have been waiting for this, so here it is. We get Kang the Conqueror. We set up the upcoming phase for the MCU. We show the importance, the intensity, the severity of what's to come without sacrificing the heart and humor of the Ant-Man movies. And honestly, I think they pulled it off.
And Kang was phenomenal. The controversy surrounding Majors aside, he was an incredible actor in this movie. He did such a good job, and I hope we do not suffer a recast.
Speaking of Kang, let's not forget that there is nothing quite as...fascinating as a character we know to be good and pure and sunshine personified just absolutely go ham. GiAnt-Man getting angry over Kang having Cassie in his grasp is really good, hot tea y'all, and I love it. After having imagined instances where Scott would get genuinely angry and imagining what that would look like and then to see it in canon? I feel validated.
I've said it a million times: Momma Bear ain't got nothing on Ant-Dad!
"I don't have to win. We both just have to lose." This quote still haunts me. It's so good and honestly it's so...Scott.
And also! For those who said it would have been better if Scott and Hope got stuck in the QR, shut up. No it wouldn't. No. It. Would. Not. It would have been predictable, and I feared it. I knew it was coming, and I was prepared to cry over it. Seriously. The intense relief I felt when Cassie rescued them genuinely choked me up a bit, I'm not gonna lie. It's good they're not trapped.
Also, I'm guessing those of you who are saying being trapped in the QR would have been better than the ending we got don't deal with anxiety and worry eating away at your insides until you feel like they're just gnawing at your bones, don't ya? Because my boy is seriously trying not to panic over the fact that he may have very well doomed the universe he just finished rescuing.
And honestly, that's more relatable. That's more human. We can relate with that, we can ache about that, and honestly, me just thinking about Scott trying not to have a panic attack over all of this is making my chest tight too like I'm in his shoes. The human element, very prominent in the Ant-Man movies.
Seriously. Did these people watch the same movie I saw? Because this movie has so many of the things we love about the Ant-Man films. It has heart, it has comedy, it has that familial love we love to see, it has a gorgeous and mysterious landscape, it has a badass villain, and most importantly it has ants.
And anyone who says this is the worst MCU movie probably hasn't seen all the movies because I can think of 4 off the top of my head that made me want to bang my head against the wall. And guess what? Quantumania is nowhere on that list.
I could go on, but apparently I hit a text limit in Tumblr, so I had to cut back. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. No, I am not up for debating the amazingness of this movie. Any and all hate towards it will be removed from this blog, thank you.))

Do you ever think about how caleb growing mistrustful of essek very suddenly,
Likely was an acting choice brought about by caleb meeting trent again
Because... man it makes so much sense
Like the mistrust was always there, but before trent it mostly showed itself as a healthy distance. He wasn't actively malicious or untrusting of essek's words. In fact he was angry on his behalf when the others implied they'd have to punish him.
It also makes so much sense that he'd turn on a dime as essek apologized. Because tbh, that more than anything doesn't fall into the framework of manipulation that he recognizes.
Caleb is so rational, he probably realized that he'd been projecting and took a few cautious steps back to offer some genuine kindness that wasn't rooted in trying to do damage controll on a potentially dangerous person.
I do have to laugh at the need to off trent then and there though bc oh my god, you do not have time caleb. Too many things are happening at once. Never been more thankful for that dunamancy die betrayal (poetic cinema).

What the fuck does Romanian police arresting a sex trafficker have anything to do with American bullshit? Why does the swedish teen climate change activist that laughed at him on twitter trigger them so much lmao
IKR? They are straight up asking for Biden to pardon him, like......THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS. AND YOU CAN'T PARDON SOMEONE WHO HAS YET TO GET A SENTENCE!!! If they had a brain, they'd rather talk about extradition, but these idiots think Romania is the 51st state of the USA somehow... Honestly USAmericans deserve their reputation of being absolute idiots.
And yes, Greta got them real shook. Watching them navigate through the 7 stages of grief to cope with that trainwreck was hilarious.
First they spread straight up misinformation saying Tate got released....by posting months old videos of him partying. Bold of them to pretend to escape from "the matrix" when they are so kin to drown themselves in their own delusion by crafting a whole another reality to fit their own bias....like b, shut up about the "eScApInG fRoM tHe mAtRiX" YOU ARE THE MATRIX!!
Then they said Greta should be ashamed of making fun of the size of his peepee (funny, bc this whole anti bodyshaming thing came from the "woke mob" that Conservatives usually looove clowning for resorting to emotionalism...🤔)
And now they're seething saying that the Greta joke wasn't funny and that the narrative of him being doxxed by his own pizza was fake.....when those are actually just details in this whole fiasco, and tbh people being nitpicky about this just proves even further how they are too embarrassed to handle the bigger picture so they try to deflect onto small details. Whether Tate doxxed himself or not doesn't retrieve anything to the pathetic irony of him being arrested moments after making a lame 2 minutes video comeback bc he got his fee fees hurt by a one liner comeback on Twitter. What truly made people lose their mind was 1)that (low blow) clapback was out of character for Greta. She usually barely engages with anyone on her twitter account, so the fact she chose violence like that is unprecedented 2)the timing of him getting in a stupid twitter beef flexing about his wealth & lifestyle just before getting arrested was just perfect 3)the irony of him being dragged by an autistic girl half his age when his whole brand his the strong unbothered Alpha male is peak poetic cinema. Only stupid moids think they are doing something being like "sO yOu Admit yOu Have a sMalL peNis GrEtA?? tHat'S yOur oWn AdDreSS aMiRitE???🤪" ....like, that's such a typical boomer-tier brand of 1st degree level reading comprehension..... By making a stupider comeback to an already stupid post Greta took the piss out of Tate and there are no configuration in which he could possibly make a compelling come back. Brillant. Sometimes, you have to lay as low as your enemy, and considering the unpredicted consequences of this stunt, that's what made her move retrospectively outstandingly funny. Moids, scrotes and Tate-sexuals can seethe, Greta won💚

Going into Nope I was kinda sceptical because I've never really been a fan of horror movies tbh and I still haven't watched Get Out and Us (they're on my list I swear) so I didn't know what to expect.
And then as the movie began I thought "oh, it's about an alien. there's nothing scary about that this'll just be fun"
But when the scene with Jupe and Jean Jacket happened, I had to eat my words.
You see, my biggest issue with usual horror movies is the jump scares and cheap attempts at scaring people with shock value. And that's why I loved Nope because Jordan Peele doesn't resort to any of those overused devices to fill the audience with absolute dread.
The contrast between the censored gordy scene right before Jean Jacket is seen swallowing and digesting the people at Jupe's show, followed by literally everything else like the screams and blood rain was amazing and he deserves all his flowers because Nope is such a breath of fresh air (ironically) in the horror film landscape.
It's also refreshing to see people of colour as the focus of this kind of a movie but that's a different discussion altogether so I'll just end here by saying this is how I feel about Nope:

Bc I recall it was very early January. Last year? But I was just like, this is memeable enough for Lys
This would check out tbh, bc i will use any and all opportunities to talk about Junior High like to me, it is poetic cinema i think it is HILARIOUS, the volleyball scene??!?! THERE ARE MANY LITTLE REFERENCES IN MY FICS TO JUNIOUR HIGH ! 'we can't have you getting malnourished' as she shoves fish into his mouth, how many times have I put that line into fics?? too many. WAY TOO MANY !!
