The Creative Lounge v2.0

While we continue to prepare the community for a full launch, I'll post a little more about what's different in this version.

The Creative Lounge is a Discord community of creators and lovers of different genres, crafts, and talents that, together, foster a positive creative environment.

A good portion of this community is dedicated to content creators who work with different mediums. That's by design. We inspire one another and often collaborate. I hope The Lounge makes it easier to do both!

There's also room in here to play. I'm arranging the ability to stream art and video games in here, as well as host virtual tabletop games (these adventures are fantastic fodder for art, animation, stories, and audio works)!

Art and storytelling have been part of the human experience since our beginnings. They withstand disease, war, natural and unnatural catastrophes, and most impressively, time. Be proud of what you contribute.

There have been some changes to the community rules (beneath the cut). Please review them while you wait for The Creative Lounge to launch!

Rule #1: Be Aware. This is a shared space. You must be at least 18 years old to join this server. Individuals from all places and all walks of life congregate here. The sharing of personal information (name, location, etc.) is discouraged. Don't share personal images of anyone under the age of 18.

Arcane Year Two week event Rules and Guidelines

Rules

Fanworks created for this event should be focused on Arcane character(s). While LoL characters and OCs are welcome, they should not steal the spotlight. Canon characters should be the focus, even in a work set in season 2 with new characters joining the cast.

All types of fanworks, including fic, art, moodboards, podfic, playlists, meta, cosplay, embroidery, and more, are welcome for this event.

NSFW or potentially triggering content, even if canon-typical, must be properly tagged with any applicable content warnings. For the comfort of the mods, please only submit NSFW works if you are 18+.

This event is also open to all ships and all levels of rating. However we expect works to be fully tagged in order to be reblogged. This is a strict rule, as people can't be expected to effectively manage what they see and read if they are not given the tools to effectively block tags.

Racist, queerphobic, ableist, misogynistic, or otherwise hateful or bigoted behavior or fanworks will not be tolerated. Your work may include aspects of bigotry and oppression so long as they are properly tagged. For example: A fic that features a character facing ableism is allowed with content warnings; a work that includes ableist tropes as part of the narrative or erases a canon disability is not.

Any form of disrespectful or threatening behaviour towards fellow participants will see the offending account blocked and their works unshared.

Guidelines

This is a week format event. It will run for 1 week, from the 7th of November to the 13th. Late entries are accepted. Early entries are not and are discouraged. Please wait for the start of the week to share your works. We will not be browsing the tag prior to the 7th.

How do you participate?

By making any type of fanwork using any of the prompts provided. The orthodox way of playing with this type of event is to restrict yourself to a prompt provided on the day. Posting a fic on day 1 written to a day 1 prompt, an art on day 2 with a day 2 prompt, etc.

This event provides 2 sets of prompts with two different themes (pre-canon and canon timeline, and a post canon speculative timeline). While you can stick to one set of prompt, you are very welcome to mix and match. Extremely bold participants may want to do both and post 2 weeks worth of works. That's fine too! So is doing a single work for a single prompt.

Ultimately, the goal is to have a week during which the Arcane fandom gets the spotlight and new works are created and shared. the goal is to be inspired and have fun. The prompts are there to inspire If you see a prompt in the post-canon theme that appeals to you for a pre-canon story, go crazy!

Welcome to SeiSub Tanabata Fest 2023! July 7-13, 2023

#SeiSubTanabataFest is a fest ship event organized for Sakurazuka Seishirou and Sumeragi Subaru. Pick whichever version of CLAMP works you feel like creating something for with SeiSub (Tokyo Babylon, X/1999, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, etc.). It is in celebration of the coming Tanabata (July 7th in Japan). Each day features prompts relating to traditions or imagery commonly associated with Tanabata. It will run from 7 July to 13 July 2023. It marks the halfway point (138 days) in between Seishirou’s birthday (November 22nd) and Subaru’s birthday (February 19th). This indicates their relationship as star-crossed lovers, which makes their relationship on Tanabata all the more intriguing.

What classifies as an AU?

AU stands for “Alternate Universe.” For the purposes of this fanweek, that means that the works created for this week will - for the most part - not take place within the events of MCU canon. Though you are welcome to still create works that take place within the MCU (think: Everybody Lives/Nobody Dies, Sam is the Winter Soldier instead of Bucky, etc), the prompts for fics like these will likely fall into Day One: Based in Canon. There may be some exceptions to this - for example, soulmate AUs that are MCU canon compliant are still acceptable since the soulmate schematics required for these kinds of fics classify them as AUs. However, it is important to remember that the point of this fanweek is to get creative and add more sambucky AUs to the world, so feel free to get inventive and fun with it!

Can I use more than one prompt per work?

Yes! Though the prompts were intended to create variety, you are more than welcome to combine prompts within a certain theme, i.e. a single parent + coffee shop AU for Day Two. You can even implement ALL THREE of the prompts in the same work if you feel up to the challenge!

Do I have to wait to post on certain dates?

Since each date corresponds with a specific theme and prompt(s), we do ask that you wait to post on the day designated for each theme / prompt(s).

What if I create a work that incorporates two prompts from different posting days?

This is allowed, so your posting date would be up to your discretion. For example, if you wrote a fic that was both a college au and a fake dating au, you could post your work on either Day Four or Day Six.

Can I use this event to re-promote something I’ve already created?

No; this event is only for new, original works. This means that the fic, fanart, video, gifset, etc. that you’ve created must have been first posted during this event.

Are NSFW postings allowed?

Yes, but please tag them appropriately.

Can I post a multi-chaptered fic if it isn’t completed?

You can post a multi-chaptered fic and it does not have to be completed as long as you post at least the first chapter on the designated posting date for your prompt.

Can I include other characters/ships in my works?

Side characters and side ships are fine, but because this is a sambucky fanweek, the main focus of your works must be Sam and Bucky.

Who I am and what I do in fandom

This blog sometimes contains NSFW content, which I tag with a simple nsfw if you are a minor or if you just want to avoid it.

The main thing I do in the HP fandom is writing and discussing femslash and rarepairs, in particularly those related to Narcissa Malfoy and anything related to the marauders era. I tend to write and talk about ships/characters more than I read fic about them (if you want me to read a fic, please be patient bc I do it very slowly), and I am literally always down to chat about anything Narcissa or femslash related. Feel free to tag me if we're in a discord server together, send me an ask, or literally just DM me on here.

My favourite ships to write are Dorcas/Narcissa and Sirius/Narcissa, but I write a lot of rarepairs and femslash! I have a masterlist of fics I’ve written right here.

There’s one thing I feel need to be said.

And it’s about the most controversial topic in the TMNT fandom.

T-cest.

What IS T-cest you might ask as a newbie to the TMNT-fandom? It’s the abbreviation of “turtle incest”, where people romantically ship the turtles together.

Now, on to what I want to get off my chest about it: I, personally, hate it. I despise t-cest with a passion because I find it gross and weird. And that means I actively do not search it up, I don’t follow people who PRIMARILY create t-cest. I do know some of the people I follow write it here and there but that doesn’t bother me, because one fic here and there makes it easy to just ignore. 

But what I purely don’t agree with is the WITCH HUNT from antis where we (since I myself is one) go out of our way to harrass, bully, and spew toxicity on people who are into t-cest. Why? What is the POINT?  We are all enjoying a fandom, just from two completely different pov’s.  Now, I understand it’s a very hot topic since TMNT IS targeted towards KIDS. And that someone who is into is might be seen as a child predator, since there’s many minors in this fandom. Don’t get me wrong; It’s wrong to prey on kids in any kind of way.  But if someone or some people are just enjoying TMNT in their own way, why can’t they just be allowed to? I want to take a break and once again repeat it: I do not like T-cest. I hate T-cest. I think it’s gross, but that doesn’t mean I agree with harrassing or looking up T-cest accounts with the purpose of harrassing them. 

If you don’t like it; - Don’t engage with it. - Ignore it. - Block t-cest accounts. - Blacklist t-cest tags.

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT!

This goes for all of you who ARE into t-cest. If you see an content creator who tells you to not engage with their art/writing, please don’t do it. I’ve seen so many artists who get their art either taken, reblogged/retweeted and tagged as t-cest, even if they’ve told you it’s NOT for you. I’ve seen t-cest posts trying to CONVINCE the fandom by going “well if they’re [insert familial/platonic touching here] it has to mean something 🤨🤨”, or something in the lines of it. 

We, on both sides, really HAVE to stop going after each other. BOTH sides are enjoying a fandom, but in different ways.  We have to stop going into each others spaces only to cause chaos, havoc and destruction.  I feel bad for the artists who get harrassed from t-cesters because some of you really can’t see brothers acting in familial ways without looking at them like lovers. But I also feel bad for t-cesters who are just trying to enjoy their own content, even if I don’t agree with it. 

I’m fully aware of the fact that I’m going to get a lot of hate for this and most likely be viewed as a “neutral” or “t-cest supporter” and might even lose followers for this. But I had to say it. I felt it really had to be said, because both sides act like assholes to be honest.

T-cesters try to convince you that brothers cant hug eachother, sleep together, or just be physically close to eachother in a brotherly and familial way. And you guys NEEEEEED to understand that that mentality is ALSO very, very wrong of you. You really have to understand that part.

And antis, we have to STOP going into t-cest spaces, because if we don’t want to see it, we HAVE to stop making t-cest trend.

Who are you?

Do you draw professionally?

No, I draw as a hobby. I work in the medical field.

(While I’m glad people are interested in what I do, I’d rather if you don’t ask me questions about it as I would like to keep my professional life private and separate from fandom)

How did you come up with your username?

I was a 11 yo weeb in the 2000s - early 2010s where everything had “baka” or “kawaii” or “sugoi”, etc. The name bakapandy stuck from way back then and has become a bit of a brand and changing it is just too much effort. 

How can I support you as an artist?

I have a Ko-Fi!

ABOUT MY ART

Do you take commissions or requests?

Currently, no. Since I have limited time to draw because of school, I’d prefer to spend it drawing something that I want to draw. I do read suggestions and ideas if they end up in my inbox but I can not promise that I will draw it. 

Where did you learn to draw?

I’m self-taught. Lots and lots of admiring other people’s work and practicing a ton.

When did you start drawing/How long have you been drawing?

I’ve loved to draw all my life, but I got invested when I was about 10 when I truly dedicated time and effort into improving. So I guess it’s going on 17 years now.

What do you use to draw?

I use an 11in iPad pro, apple pencil, and Clip Studio Paint iOS

I’ve previously used a Wacom intuos, but switched over to the ipad pretty much exclusively a couple years ago

Can I use your art for my profile pic?

You can use my art for icons, phone and desktop wallpapers for YOUR OWN USE ONLY without asking me, though I’d really appreciate if you’d credit me if you use it in a public domain. 

Can I share your artwork on other sites?

No, please don’t repost my artwork anywhere else. You can always link to my blog or the page of the drawing (if there’s a thumbnail involved that automatically generated, then that’s fine), BUT PLEASE DON’T RE-UPLOAD ANYTHING. Share my work with whatever function is given to you on the site (reblogs for Tumblr, retweets for Twitter, etc.) so that it comes DIRECTLY FROM ME. I really appreciate your cooperation for this.

Honestly, I don’t know. I loved Free! and SouRin for so long but my creative energy for them fizzled out and I just don’t have anymore ideas...maybe when I finally see Final Stroke, I’ll make something?

Who are your favorite Naruto characters?

In case you couldn’t tell from my art content, I love the Sand-Nara family. Gaara has always been my favorite since I was in middle school.

Who do you ship with Gaara?

No one. I headcanon him as aro/ace.

What do you think about Gaara ships?

They’re not my cup of tea but people can ship what they want. Go live your best lives.

What about Boruto ships?

I don’t ship the kids. I just like them all being cute and friends. 

Recently, though, I got into Konohamaru X Log lmao.

Do you have ANY ships in Naruto?

Pretty much only ShikaTema is the one I’m the most invested in. I follow along with the canon ships (e.g. NaruHina, SasuSaku, ChoKarui) but I have no particularly strong feelings for or against them.

Other ships I enjoy in passing: KakaGai, NejiTen, SaiIno, NejiLee

Do you have a Naruto OC?

I have one OC and her name is Kotori, and she’s Shinki’s daughter haha. She’s a joint OC with my friend @bichobolitagaarashusband

Usually though, I prefer to stick to canon characters, relationships, and dynamics

Do you not like Naruto OCs?

They typically don’t really interest me so I don’t really engage with them. But people can do what they want and I’m not going to criticize them for it. I have Kotori and tbh I really only interact with one OC mostly bc he belongs to my friend haha

I’m SO done.

My life has been a nightmare since I retweeted one (1) meme that my friend did about two ships. It was all a joke since they’re allowed to make fun of things they like (which includes the two ships they like).

But then somehow I became the scapegoat. The hater. And that escalated to something pretty worse. They started calling me a racist, a TERF and that objectify their favorite character on my fics. They kept accusing my friends of being TERF without ANY proof but an assumption based on a purple, white and green hearts on a person’s bio.

Because yes, I tried to be an adult and talk to them, settle things and be at peace. Because they left a msg on my AO3 kinda bashing me and doubting that I shipped said ship. But before I could reply, they deleted it and so I decided to go to their inbox. We shared hcs, we talked about writers and comic books. And I have all that conversation saved, I genuinely believed we were good. But gods, how I regret this day.

Because just to find out that the next day this person had me blocked and also kicked a friend of mine from their server. I didn’t understand why because we seemed good and I was so glad we talked through our differences.

But then the attacks resumed out of the blue, which include but are not limited to: apparently I stole a headcanon (?), I made memes to mock their server (???), I created side accs to harass them, I apparently harass them for two years now when I specifically told them I had them blocked since 2020 when I went to twitter lmao, that I talk trash about their friends (please, I don’t even know your friends lmao. Well now I know since y’all want to report me), and lastly, that I wrote a D/S fic when it’s clearly an OT3 and I tagged their ship just to provoke them. They’re CONVINCED I’m in a plot to ruin their ship and their life.

And now they and their friends want to report me and apparently there’s gonna be a google docs on my person because yes, they were stalking my private account.

But that’s not limited to it because they also had 4 friends of mine blocked just because they can’t stand seeing me on their timeline (you had me blocked so why are you seeing me on your timeline???????????? Unless you’re deliberately stalking my profile, sherlock).

If you’re seeing this, and I hope you are because you’re obsessed with me, just PLEASE leave me alone.
