I've fallen into, and in love, with the Supa Strikas fandom, so I decided to add this to the growing collection of posts. This is just my personal takes on the team after a few seasons. Might do more of these but IDK.
What I expected: FIFA 25
What I got: Family of adopted, dysfunctional man children and their Soccer Mom go on extended business trips all while dealing with the neighbors from hell.
Coach: Level 100 Soccer Mom just waiting to unleash his inner Karen. Probably encourages his kids to pick fights with old man Vince next door.
Dancing Rasta: 'Dad'cing Rasta indeed. Has to keep reminding mom Coach to take the kids team out for ice cream after they win a match. Someone needs to get this guy a 'Licensed to Grill' apron.
El Matador: Every cartoon has that same obnoxious, narcissistic, drama queen stereotype that never fails to get on my nerves. But not this one. This particular obnoxious, narcissistic, drama queen? This one is special.
Twisting Tiger: Chaotic middle child vibes. The writers missed a big opportunity to make him the SS resident troll.
Cool Joe: I'd make a joke about Cool Joe being "That Guy" who listens to Disney music while at work, but I'm pretty sure he actually has a workout track of Disney songs he brings to practice.
Big Bo: I saw this guy and immediately thought, "Oh wow, he must give AMAZING hugs"
Blok: Man of few words with amazing dance moves. Seriously, shame on the rest of the Strikas for hating on his music taste.
Klaus: Let's face it, we've all been Klaus at some point in our lives
North Shaw: Remember that one post about, "If you've been enemies for X long, you're no longer enemies, you're just gay but won't admit it"? That's North, except instead of kissing Liquido he's just gonna deck him.
Shakes: Shakes being Supa Strikas little brother is 100% of the reason to watch Rookie Season. I mean, it was painfully obvious before, but they don't even try to hide it.

I'm going to lay off my own back. Yeah, I mean it like that. Putting less pressure on myself and everything. If others think I am lazy or that I get tired easily, well, that's their reaction and I can't control it. I can control the way I respect my body's requests and my brain's needs. I need rest to be able to do things, and it's okay that I need to rest more often than other people. I don't want to burn-out, so I am choosing to do what I see is best for my own health without judging myself or allowing the judgement of others to interfere with the perception I have of myself. They are not the ones who live in my body and have to deal with the consequences of being sick and tired after pushing myself too much at the end of the day.

Oooh, I’m reading heated comments about Jordan being casted for Orpheus now, and there’s an interesting take I didn’t take into account when I first posted the announcement. This again is a low blow for all the understudies that have been and are on Hadestown, how about Chibueze Ihuoma (let us remember he was Tour Orpheus)?, what about Brandon Cameron? Guesses are (and I agree with them) Betty Who wasn’t the push they needed for the show (and I can see why, she is lame, she is slow, she is lacking of everything that makes Persephone, Persephone, is horrendous and painful and their PPRR efforts to make her happen just demonstrated how badly she lacks of everything it is needed to portray Persephone), and while I love Jordan’s voice I haven’t really see his acting (vocally, I loved what he did for Rent, and for Sweeney, his voice is butter in my ears I truly love how soft and nice, yet clear it is, it just makes me happy) that some people seem to think he could be lacking of.
And that’s it for now, hopefully he will do justice and make a great season at the show, as for at least I now vocally he will make a great refreshment :)

People who over-sexualize Astrarion are some of the weirdest people ever and some of the most tone deaf. You see a man that’s been sexually abuse for 200 years and project all your sexual fantasies to him. Just reduce him to being a sex fiend.
Like yea have your own take on the character I guess, but it’s so weird to see someone come to that conclusion about a character so blatant in his backstory.

When I was 6 ot 7yo, I remember telling my mom I wanted to have a tail like dogs. Because I love dogs, even then I already had 2 dogs that I loved and I wanted to have a tail like them.
"Are you sure that's a good idea?" My mom asked me, arguing that with a tail, everyone would know if I'm happy because I'd wiggle it. Or if I'm scared, because I'd hide the tail between my legs. And that maybe having a tail with which everyone would know how I'm feeling was not a good idea and it was better to be reserved on how we were feeling.
I was very small and I thought she was wrong, because what's the matter with other people knowing when I'm happy or scared? But as she was my mom I thought that, maybe, when I grow up and have her age, I would understand why it is not a good idea that people visibly know how I feel.
Well, now I have the age my mom had back then, and after so many years thinking about it, I can say with complete certainty, that my mom was WRONG
Just imagine having a freaking tail and watching you bff come over and your tail will start wiggling with happiness. Or if someone trips on the sidewalk and it's just hilarious and even when you won't laugh your tail will just wiggle. Or if someone is yelling and it gets you scared, yeah, tail between my legs BUT that means there's more chance I attack back than just running away, just like a reactive dog.
I'm sorry mother, but I don't see how showing your feelings is a bad thing at all. Tails help dogs communicate and maintain good relationships. Maybe, if we as humans showed or shared our feelings more often, then we'd have better communication and relationships too

Am I the only one who doesn't absolutely hate that one AA animation? I mean, 1: it's pretty funny and if you don't like the humor, that's fine. 2: Geiru does the balloon/boob thing in canon anyway. 3: If you are genuinely mad that Edgeworth showed any interest in a woman, I'd like you to go look up what a headcannon is.
And 4: I've got a bad case of clussy fever and I want to make whopee with her cushions

(Also I adore this reaction)

It had been a little while since the last time I made art of these two... I figured the occasion justified a small sequence. 🤭
One element I actually quite liked about Mario and Peach's first meeting in the film was the unusual context surrounding it. This whole misunderstanding involving the royal toad brigade, with Mario being initially mistaken for a dangerous trespasser and chased around inside the Castle... I thought it was a great setup to introduce the two, as it helped build tension and cleverly established how first impressions can indeed be misleading. x3
Granted, there are many things about their movie dynamic that I personally would have done very differently, but I’m glad for the unprecedented visibility this franchise has gotten lately and you can be sure there will be a lot more from me still. 😎✨

Hello Supablr. Sorry this took forever, but I've been working on a follow up project once I'm done with these. More on that later, so for now just enjoy the takes
Skarra: Feral, cackling gremlin trying to pretend he's not empty inside. Needs a hug, possibly several hugs, but is too afraid of cooties to ask. He's either going to have a Prince Zuko level redemption or go full Anakin Skywalker
Dingaan: Dammit Dingaan! You can't be both the lovable, clueless himbo and dumb, jock bully at the same time. Pick one!
Automatic: So, if we ever get a Rookie Season 2, are we gonna see him become the third wheel in Skarra and Shakes' rivalry? Cause no joke, this guy lost his job to Shakes and has way more reason to hate him than Skarra does
Max Power: I'm not a shipper, but why are there no pairings between him and Shakes? I mean, technically there's two of him, but still
Dooma: Oh Dooma, Dooma, Dooma. The writers made such a big deal about bringing you back, and then they promptly forgot about you. Guess upstaging Skarra really isn't all that easy.
Uber: Somehow, a 6.5, 300+ lb. German muscle man is giving me more babygirl vibes then a Sailor Moon character. Also, it's hilarious when you realize he outranks his coach.
Ja Nein: The rarely seen lovechild between adorkableness and pure evil. The "first day at the unit" meme was invented for this guy specifically.
Thor: If he grows a beard, we can call him Odin
Von Eye: Why did it take me four seasons to realize his name is a pun? What is wrong with me?
Chuck: Seriously, I want to see this guy succeed. I want him train up his team, pull off a win, and feel good about it just so he can tell Toni to screw off
John Johnson: The most loveable himbo in a team that consists of equally loveable himbos
Miko Chen: The only thing not completely wholesome about him is how little screen time he gets. That's about as shameful as Ura-Giri's strategies.
De los Santos: He really needs his own Boss theme, but does that make him the bad guy? Cause lets face it, he's not the bad guy
Don Aldo: That's not how hair physics works
Ninja: The second most absent arch-rival in my history of watching cartoons. At least they both brought him back and gave him an identity as El Matador's rival. Still wish we got to see more of the tigers
Liquido: Ten years ago, if I told myself I would one day describe someone as a "sociopathic surfer-dude" I would start to question my own sanity
Andre Meda: His name is an astronomy pun, his team uses constellations as a secret formation code, and his coach has them train in outer space. This guy is a huge closet nerd, and you can't change my mind.
Vladmir Savich: They made a few half-baked attempts to make him a villain and the fanbase is having none of it. Good for him.
Riano: WHY IS THERE NOT MORE CONTENT OF HIM AND SHAKES BEING FRIENDS? They were such good friends, and we have like zero content to prove it. Do the writers not realize how much of a foil he could have been to Skarra? Riano and Shakes being best friends, and Skarra is feeling like he's been replaced, thus hating Shakes even more. Sorry for the long rant but c'mon Moonbug, this guy had so much potential

Another Knight I worked on my Arthurian concepts, Sir Tristan. One of my favourites again blaming the 2005 movie for that and accidentally looking like a ranger :)
Also accidental Jesus Christ as well, I only realized after I coloured his face *puts on clown makeup*
Everything is rounded and wavy with him - even with his sword, I opted for more rounded shapes to give Tristan this air of softness. He is known for his love of Iseult, so I'm taking the route of "this man is a menace, but is filled with kindness in his big golden heart".
Same goes for the flowers all over. They are to point that soft side of his but I also searched a little bit about Kernow, found out about Cornwall, and decided to incorporate those flowers into his design.
As a counterpoint, we have his sharper facial features and scar, indicating that ~menacing~ part of his, I guess hahaha
Once he ended up falliing more to the ranger side on my design, I also opted for leather armour instead of full heavy stuff. His build is more athletic but not bulky yes, yes, Lancelot is the heavy hitter fighter in the team, who would've known and he has this sense of ~movement~.
And, of course, sad droopy eyes and forget-me-nots in his hands.
As always, I'll leave more explaining and fangirling over Arthurian characters under the cut, where I'll tell al little more of my version of these characters!
SO TRISTAN, MY BELOVED.
Like I said, I became a Tristan fangirl after the 2005 King Arthur movie thanks to Mads Mikkelsen but I only went downhill from there. We all know the story of Tristant and Iseult, and he always ends up being one of my favourite characters.
Therefore, when I was reading Bernard Cornwell's Enemy of God, I almost died when I saw the phrase "because that was the summer of Tristan and Iseult" and went NOOOOOOOOO I'M NOT READY FOR THIS PLEASE LEAVE MY TRISTAN ALONE.
Alas. He wasn't left alone.
As there are many iterations of his tale, I had to decide which one to go with in order to get his design going. I like the tragedy of having him being Mark's son, as prince of Kernow, and falling for Iseult - the young woman to be married to his father, the King of Kernow.
Why? Because I'm a dramatic bitch, that's why.
Jokes aside, I think it opens many options for character development and counterpoints. By choosing Tristan to be Mark's son, I can develop them as being opposites in basically everything.
Unlike Lancelot and Galahad, who are opposite sides of the same coin and can work together despite how different they are, Tristan and Mark cannot. Tristan is brave while Mark is a coward, Tristan is gentle while Mark is harsh, Tristan is kind while Mark is cruel. All his softness, beauty and knightly courage is reflected as cruelty, uglyness and cowardice in his own father.
And by uglyness I mean more than just what we consider beautiful in aesthetic terms - it would be a putridness of heart, a rotting of the soul. Tristan's beauty comes from his capability of showing mercy and love, from having rough hands but wielding the softest of touches, from knowing how to hunt but also how to preserve the world around him to keep it in balance. Starkly different from his father, from his own blood.
That's why I think his design took a more ranger route. I wanted him to have that sort of Aragorn quietness and gentleness mixed with an imposing but quite relaxed aura of when Aragorn first appears as Strider - the Ranger of the North.
Ok peeps I won't dwell much on this because I FREAKING LOVE RANGERS. Ever since I discovered RPGs in my life, when I was a little kid playing Ragnarok online, I'm a ranger, I can't choose a different class, they are awesome and yesterday even I was fangirling over how awesome I feel with my ranger only dialogue in Baldur's Gate 3 and how badass my ranger character looks, thank you very much, I'm accepting Tristan into the ranger family AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ARAGORN-
Ranger Tristan it is.
And the theme seemed to fit him nicely. Like I said before, having him as the son of King Mark of Kernow - which, as my knowledge goes, is Cornwall - I wanted to use his colours as black and yellow. But they didn't work with him at all. Testing some other similar colours, I ended up with forest green and everything fell into its proper place - so the black/yellow theme will probably be his father's, to be another counterpoint to him.
If Mark is full on his posh and noble clothes, Tristan will be simple and wearing only a few things to identify himself as the prince of Kernow - hence the Kernow flowers engraved on his gear.
On my Arthurian world, then, Tristan and Iseult fall in love willingly, no love potions involved. For Iseult knew only obligation and fear with Mark until she was treated with utmost kindness and love with Tristan - sealing her fate as soon as he kissed her hand for the first time as an act of courtly decorum. And Tristan... He met in her the same kindness he always had inside of him but was never extended to him. Having, for the first time, someone care and worry about him, someone who offered him gentle words instead of cruel ones.
They were, unfortunately, meant to be - and their hearts knew they couldn't be together, but a love like this cannot be tamed or ignored.
Regarding his looks, the only thing I really wanted him to have was droopy eyes - reflecting that internal sadness in his soul. The longing he carries for something he doesn't quite know or understand, until he sets his sad eyes on Iseult.
And that's why he is carrying forget-me-nots. As a foreshadowing of his and his beloved's fate at the hands of his cruel father - myosotis, as I always heard them being called, are a pledge to never forget your loved ones, a vow of faithfullness, during all life and in death, remembering the adoration for those who aren't among the living anymore.
And I think it fits Tristan and his tragic love for Iseult quite nicely.
him looking like ranger Jesus Christ wasn't intentional I SWEAR

Random ass post I felt like making but here’s my personal view on how Sparklings develop and concepts surrounding their general idea that can get very twisted very fast.
Yes I’m still in this fandom lmfao just not as hyperfocused on it
Created in a process that is fundamentally similar to becoming sparkmates but with drastically different intents(and results ofc).
By momentarily joining and combing sparks, data on both parents’ frames, abilities and maybe even personality traits are shared and mixed together as the Carrier/host spark holds the Sparkling’s spark or sparks as it develops. (Which a carrier/host is pretty much randomly chosen really.) Once it is far along and strong enough, the spark(s) are removed from the carrier/host spark and placed within a specialized containment unit thats loosely shaped like a pod; allowing the newly developed spark to generate its own body, using the data obtained from both parents to create a unique build with distinct traits from both parents, sometimes even while new traits neither have. A process that takes a few weeks to a month to complete.
Once the body is finished developing the pod opens on its own in most cases. Sometimes, though rarely needing to physically be pried open. Once out of the pod the sparkling is physically equivalent to a very small cybertonian with softer, less complex features, usually lacking the sharp angles ‘adults’ may have.
The sparkling, much like human children, is very impressionable in the early years of its life. Alongside that, sparklings are small and very frail for the first few years of its life. Slowly developing a harder, more armor like frame as it gets older. Although they can walk with relative ease the moment it’s removed from the pod; most sparklings need time to develop their speech.
However in the current society it’s not uncommon for a newly developing spark to be removed from its carrier very early on and having its coding completely reworked and modified so that the sparkling develops the way it’s modifier’s want it to. Even skipping the process of the sparkling growing to full size altogether. Although this can have some negative effects on the carrier since the developing spark is usually forcefully torn out of the host spark as it’s too weak and underdeveloped to be anywhere else. Which is why it’s not uncommon for the very prematurely removed spark to dim and fizzle away before it can be properly stabilized so it can continue to develop externally, post having its code modified and altered.
The process of creating a new spark is also being made synthetic in current times, completely disregarding the need for a carrier and sire. Although like the act of prematurely removing a developing spark can likely end in failure. Or a synthetic cybertronian that is improperly developed which in many cases causes constant physical pain.
Which if I do a written series starring my TFA characters I do plan to tie in these concepts somehow. Mainly the more horrifying concept of them trying to synthetically create life from nothing.
I may also do a post about the art of cybertronians modifying their own bodies and how things like Black Arachnia(I think that’s how it’s spelled) and Waspinator can be created and how the organic and cybernetic parts conflict with each other.

I'm reading Morgan Daimler's Irish Paganism: Reconstructing Irish Polytheism and thought their key aspects of reconstructionism where interesting and highlighted something for me that has been bothering me for a while.
The aspects are as such
1. Study
2. Discernment
3. Language
4. Practice
5. The Living Culture
Each of these has a description of what they mean and a reasoning for why it it important EXCEPT the living culture part. There is no given explanation for why this is important to reconstructionism, and my argument is because its not.
That's not to say you CAN'T learn about, enjoy or otherwise participate in current Irish culture but it is absolutely NOT nessicary for reconstructionism. Personally, I think its this aspect of Native speakers that makes them feel like they are inherently superior to any other reconstructionist. They live and breathe living culture and because of their own assumed importance of it in reconstructionism they must be a more reliable source for other reconstructionist subjects than ANYONE else ever could be (despite that person possibly having actually researched more than them)
