I accidentally drank 3 litres of water today because I was too excited about my water bottle, and apparently they have this thing out now called an over hydration headache (!!!) Basically when you don’t have enough magnesium, potassium, or sodium in your cells because your kidneys are at over capacity, and it swells your cells, causing a bunch of problems! I am trying to be healthier but I have been raised in a culture in which high fat and high salt are the norms, and i think it’s because of my over enthusiastic and harsh change that my headache appeared. I was trying to find a quick way to cure my headache, and here is what I came up with:
1. Cheese!!!
Choose a saltier hard cheese like cheddar or havarti. Bonus points for herb varieties, as they have lil baby nutrients that you may have lacked through out the day. Again, balance is key, since you don’t want to swing back
2. Chicken Noodle Soup!
It’s that time of year again where people have just finished cleaning their kitchens after a large holiday feast, and may not want to even bring out a pan. Try the Lipton cup of soup, as they contain very high amounts of sodium and potassium. Boil the kettle and add 3/4 of what you would normally, and then add 2-3 sofa crackers.
3. Gravy
The experience of drinking gravy is akin to being a hot rock chick in the 80s: everyone tells you no, and it’s not lady like, but it feels so natural and soothing that you realize that this is how it should be. I took 2tbsp for mine and heated them slowly in the microwave, and then sipped it. 10/10
If anyone would like to add or correct what I say I would love to see it, I am a self hater.

Even if touch starvation is real, it is unethical to warn people of its dangers in a culture that teaches men that women are their physical playthings, just as it is unethical to warn people in the desert of hyperhydration, or people in a region with epidemic obesity about exercise addiction.

This is a gentle reminder that a lot of those "you have to drink a fuck ton of water" studies are bull shit. You do not have to force yourself to drink a gallon of water or seven glasses a day or whatever is on those aesthetic giant ass water bottles.
Your body has a built in detector for when you should drink. It's called thirst. As long as you drink when you're thirsty, you will be fine. It is REALLY difficult to become dehydrated. You also don't need to drink things like Gatorade or Pedialyte. Humans generally get the electrolytes they need (which are just minerals like Magnesium and Sodium) from food, and they replenish their lost fluids with water.
Not to mention how dangerous OVER-hydrating can be! You can do a lot of damage to your kidneys and your body's cells by drinking too much water. As long as you have open access to water and drink when you are thirsty, you'll be fine.
This is mainly targeted at my fellow US people. Our pressure to be hydrated is RIDICULOUS here! I have seen several people talking about how weird other countries were because they weren't drowning themselves with water bottles, when the other countries are FINE (in that aspect). You will not die if you don't have a pitcher of water with your dinner!
And I haven't even mentioned how Gatorade founded the Gatorade Sports Science Institute where their goal is to find new reasons for you to need their product. Corporate America funds scientific research that will agree with their marketing goals all the time, and Gatorade isn't the only beverage company to do it.

I've been casually playing the Tomb of the Lost Queen, and listen to this. So I'm scuttling around poking the tomb and I notice the water supply is not yet cut off! I run to that and decide, yes I'm gonna chug down some water, I know this is gonna be depleted in a minute so let's just get as much as we can into Nancy. I zoned out for a bit while clicking and had Nancy mindless chug cup after cup and then the camera tilted upwards and the entire scene blurs and Nancy DIED FROM WATER OVERDOSE

Anyway OP of that post is a piece of shit and pulls shit out of their ass. So much of that is just assumptions and having a tantrum over the fact that someone pointed out that the very real problem with sex repulsion being seen as the default for asexuality and how many people do actually use it as an excuse to be sex negative.

"Did you drink enough water?"
To you thsts like 2 or 3 cups maybe.
Too a person with POTs if that Thang isn't constantly on me with electrolyte tablets and liquid IV in tow? The answer is no. The answer is always no somehow. I could always be more hydrated.
Today we broke 200bpm on that heart rate 🥰

I live maybe 80% of my days relatively symptom free from my disability due to meds and lifestyle changes but dear God I get heat exhaustion so easily. Two hours outside in the sun is equivalent to 2 days bedridden after with headaches and fatigue and nerve pain. When will I Learn

ran 20 miles today, discovered something new abt my body! i drank a bunch of water the first few hours after the run and I didn't have to pee until the evening (and now i gotta go every 15min). i think my body's become really good at retaining water (compared to when I ran similar distances last year) so it thought that I still needed it throughout the day even though I was done running
