do NOT take Ritalin. you will get addicted to crossword puzzles and dry your brain trying to remember what citizens of Dubai are called, "rule of ---" writing advice, or how to spell Swayze

Lord help me I want to start a podcast (my transition into nearly 30 pnw white guy is complete)
I've had this idea for years about a variety style podcast called Infodump where I invite autistic/neurodivergent guests on to talk about their special interests. The format would be like I would give the guest ahead of time ~5 questions I've written about their interest and they can prepare answers to them and after an introduction I have them ramble for a bit about their topic, then I ask my questions, and then they get to ask me anything about their topic they want, then a bit about how people can learn more/engage in this interest, the end.
if I ever buy a yeti mic it's all over for y'all.

my gf works in the nyt games department and she's pretty sure they've been using generative ai for crosswords for years
my uncle from Nintendo agrees
no but really I wouldn't be surprised. I will say their crosswords feel less repetitive than nearly any other source I've found. they seem to list a lot of the authors as "edited by", same for most of their other puzzles, so yeah not terribly surprised.
now if open sourcing that would be possible,

the kind of art styles I'm drawn to are texture heavy/mixed media, heavily stylized, with usually some level of evocative tone or lighting or colors or something to hold on to. and I'm not even saying they all have to be masterfully complex works. my favorite (semi) contemporary artist is Ed Ruscha and here's my 4 favorite pieces from him (a painting and 3 pastel works I believe)

yanno I think I figured out another thing that turns me off of a lot of AI art: it's the same thing that turns me off of photorealism art. I can appreciate the technical achievement in both but the subject is ultimately boring 90% of the time. There's very few things photorealism artists and AI prompters make that I find actually interesting or compelling because they're basically just recreations of reality in a non-photographoc medium. Not saying they're not insanely skilled or extremely impressive technology has gotten to this point, just that I generally do not care for it stylistically

literally any upper middle class tiktok self-identified ‘that girl’ in a pastel workout set with a thirteen step skincare routine and a green juice is a million times closer to being patrick bateman irl than any self-identified sigma film bro

like there's so many steps to get from "my pants don't fit" to "I'm stealing property from my roommate and rendering their items useless" that really you had lots of opportunities to realize what you're doing is wildly entitled right? how did you get into an out of state university with problem solving skills like this
my coworker is 19 and in college and told me that last year when she was living in the dorms she had 2 roommates and she's glad she could move back in with her parents this year because her (now ex-) roommates did things like take the shoelaces out of her shoes so they could use them as belts. this is such a insane behavior I can't wrap my brain around it. She said the reason they didn't use their own shoelaces is quote "because we wear vans and the vans laces aren't long enough". they never gave the laces back, nor did they ask permission for this. this information is haunting me. maybe gen Z is doomed actually

A bread is one of the most vulnerable animals on earth of all time. It can die in a number of different ways, which include being smashed, being old, being rottened, being crumpled up, getting too hot, having water put on it, and having water not on it but being in the air a lot (the water (mist)). The bread’s favorite way to die is being eaten, but the world is a complicated place, and it does not care for what the bread wants, and so it dies in a variety of ways which are not the preference of the bread.
Humans are considered the bread’s natural predator, and also, are the bread’s mommy (make/give birth to the bread). Humans are a large species of ant or plant or ele phant with two grasping appendages which they use to give birth to the bread. They also have one hole which eats the bread, and some other holes, which the bread is not allowed near, generally.
Some bread can go in the fridge. Some bread has fruit in it. Scientists don’t know why, as putting fruit in the bread is considered yucky, and scientists have difficulty imagining an organism that likes yucky things.
There is the anteater, which is an organism that likes yucky things, but scientists do not need to imagine it, because it is real.
