Now that i have absorbed the L O R E i have questions :) 1. Is Error former Geno? If he is, does that mean Dream can actually turn into... Error!Dream...? Uh 2. Not a question but.... i need Core!Frisk's design for... scientific purposes. I feel like they wouldn't look exactly the same as they usually do. At least for the grim and focused look they just must be having. If they don't then, headcanons :D

1. He is! But that was before he was a protector. I imagine these guys as immortal so I don’t think Dream could turn in the anti-void, and even if he could Error wouldn’t allow it. I had actually been thinking a lot about Error being terrified of Dream getting glitched so that’s why he takes him to other worlds a lot. It’s showing Dream the beautifulness of the universe and being worried about Dream’s safety.

On the note of him being former Geno, he’s got a large scar across his ribcage that show the affects of his past life, as well as some of his codes containing traces of a Geno’s code.

2. Core frisk is a projection, so I couldn’t really think of how to redesign them, however they hang out with way different people and act differently. Core Frisk definitely was “outlawed” from their own pocket they found (the omega timeline) so they must feel terrible about creating a place where people are not very accepting. The omega timeline is a place with scared monsters and humans unwilling to accept people stronger than them. I like to think they hang out with Geno (and Fresh) a lot so they can still care for people since Geno’s now a multiversal doctor.

Even More SequenceShift Facts

I know I've been pretty quiet on my AU's front. Part of that is because I was briefly disheartened by what I saw as a lack of interest in it from other people. I'm willing to admit it does kinda sting to see all these other AUs popping off while mine only gets a few passing nods, mainly because I can't draw any of my AU. I'm not trying to sound ungrateful though. I mean, there's always a handful of peeps who always like and reblog my SequenceShift stuff, and I do really appreciate you folks! With that out of the way, I decided to do another round of these facts with details that I didn't add in the guidebook, either because I felt they weren't important or because I forgor. Again, if I haven't mentioned something, feel free to hit me up.

Mooch is an adult by the time Clover is in the AU, but she was still a child/teen when the Outlaw (one of the Renegade humans) committed his massacre on the Wild East. It's given her a good dose of anxiety that she tries to keep covered up. There are times where she wakes up in the middle of the night after a particularly bad nightmare, with Moray calming her down and watching over her until she falls asleep again.

Starlo is the only member of the cast that interacts with Kit (think like Flowey and Papyrus in the OG Undertale). Due to Kit's reluctance, she doesn't really open up much to him besides some small talk. Starlo does have some suspicions about Kit, but due to being very busy with his duties as Captain of the Rangers, he hasn't looked into it just yet.

Echo Flowers are still existent in this AU, but they're very much endangered due to their natural habitat completely drying out. Some are still just barely alive but clearly withered, and any conversations they may have picked up are either partially or completely distorted. There is one location where they're still alive, a hidden cavern in the Barrens that only Ceroba, Starlo, and Dina know about.

Starlo still wears his poncho and sheriff's badge to this day (Ceroba does want her Rangers to wear proper uniforms, but she mostly doesn't mind any customizations beyond that). It serves as something of a reminder for what life was like before the Wild East Massacre. However, on a Vengeance run, he completely ditches the poncho to symbolize him embracing his role as Captain of the Rangers.

When it comes to SequenceShift's Genocide/Vengeance/No Mercy route, none of the boss fights are killed in one hit. All of them have different, harder encounters and fight like hell to the bitter end. There'll also be environmental changes beyond just the populace leaving.

Also, a Neutral Route will have a lot more variation beyond just the endings and NPC dialogue. Even a very ruthless neutral run will be acknowledged by the Monsters and treated as such. Clover will be punished for a near/aborted Genocide run. (I always found it weird how the original Undertale never did that, and Undertale Yellow to a lesser extent)

There are four routes planned so far: Neutral, Pacifist, True Pacifist, and Genocide. A fifth route might be possible, but nothing's come of it just yet.

Frisk is also in this AU, having arrived some time before Clover did and basically had this Sequenceshift's version of Undertale Yellow. Again, still haven't thought of much beyond that.

I'll add him to the guidebook, but Mo is indeed in this AU. He's pretty much entirely unchanged too, because he's perfect.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #4 (2011)

Back on Lobdell's bullshit!

There had been vague references to Roy being a "screwup" in the first three issues of the book, but this issue confirms that he is, as he was pre-Flashpoint, an addict in recovery. There are two major differences, though: one, his sobriety seems a lot shakier than it was pre-Flashpoint (at least, before Lian's death), and two, he is now an alcoholic, rather than a narcotics addict. Pre-Flashpoint, Roy was regularly shown drinking casually and sometimes even actively drunk (Ollie's bachelor party), and it was never depicted as a problem for him, though Kyle at one point gently teases him about staying away from booze. (Interestingly, Ollie is occasionally depicted as having an unhealthy relationship with alcohol himself, but no line is ever drawn between his potential addiction and Roy's, in any continuity.)

I'm of two minds about the change. On the one hand, though I have a strong attachment to the original "Snowbirds Don't Fly," it was very much commenting on a specific cultural moment, as well as being very deliberately designed to open up conversation about drugs and drug addiction in comic books (prior to "Snowbirds," the depiction of drug use was banned by the Comics Code Authority). There's no reason to stick specifically to heroin, other than tradition. I hate to praise Tom King, and I have quibbles with him giving Roy an addiction to prescription drugs in Heroes in Crisis (if injuries in the field led to Roy's reliance on and then addiction to prescription painkillers, why is he the only superhero to develop an addiction? it should be like a third of them!), but it's a choice that feels very current, the way that heroin felt very current in 1971. (People obviously still do heroin, but you know what I mean.)

Making Roy an alcoholic instead of a heroin addict provides an interesting opportunity to compare the two addictions. Alcoholism is much more culturally accepted (and, you know, legal), easier to hide, and carries far less stigma, both when using and when in recovery. And yet RHATO depicts a Roy who appears to be in greater disgrace with the superhero community than pre-Flashpoint Roy ever was. It would have been interesting to explore the difference in how the two addictions are received, in getting and staying sober, in the dangers of using any substance to excess, even legal and widely accepted ones. A thoughtful writer could have told a really moving story with this change.

Of course, we're talking about Lobdell here, so the change feels completely arbitrary and downright lazy, especially since Lobdell (and King) has a habit of doing zero research and changing things at random. Both the alcoholism and the prescription drug addiction wind up coming across like all addictions are interchangeable, which is...shitty.

But, you know. It could have been good.

On the other hand, here we have the debut of the single best thing about all of RHATO: the Jaybird nickname. Drink it in, friends.

Meanwhile, Kori gets attacked by this guy, Crux:

She's TAMARANEAN. In fact, the word "Tamaranean" is used later on the same page. What a shitshow.

Crux is a human whose parents were killed when a random Tamaranean spaceship hit their car (why were Tamaraneans just cruising by Earth? no idea), so he devoted his life to destroying aliens in general and Tamaraneans in particular, including using alien DNA so he can turn himself into a giant bat-lizard at will.

Meanwhile, the hot lady sheriff turns out to be an Untitled, and she and Jason frisk each other sexily before she turns into a monster and attacks. It's boring.

The issue ends with Roy going to help Kori, who is losing her fight, and Jason facing off against the Untitled. So to sum of the events of the issue, two fights start and Roy calls Jason "Jaybird" for the first time. It's amazing how little story you can tell in when you average like two panels per page!

Chara and Asriel went missing after a mission went wrong. Chara got hit and they've both are believed to be dead. Or are they? Undyne definitely tried to lift up a horse and got kicked in the face because of it Napstablook helps Mettaton with his shows and he sometimes helps Sans on stealthy missions. They never see him coming (no seriously) Undyne used to use a snipe, before she lost her eye. She's teaching Papyrus to use one. The outlaw gang are honorable outlaws and mostly steal from rich people. Undyne's nickname is Undynamite (Undyne x Dynamite) Frisk was found in an random house as they were looking for supplies. Gaster randomly leaves and comes back a few weeks later with a lot of herbs and money. (nobody knows where he gets it and everyone is afraid to ask) Besides going on occasional stealth missions Sans mostly earns money from playing Poker (or rather losing a lot of money). Although Frisk has a better Poker Face. right now the only ships that exists here are Toriel x Asgore, Grillby x Muffet, Undyne x Alphys Frisk is using they/them pronounces Chara is using she/they pronounces The bounty hunters that hunt the gang are mostly humans. There are sometimes smaller monsters who try their luck, but it ends up in them giving up easily. TemShop still exists, but now they buy and sell stuff like arrows, dynamights, TemFlakes. The gang member usually sell stolen stuff here, because Tem is too stupid naive to notice. NO Tem is not going to college here. While Papyrus doesn't smoke or drink..he does gather the cigarette cards (like in Red Dead Redemption 2), but he either sells or throws away the cigarette packs. Sadly no Anime for Alphys and Undyne.

Have you ever classpected the deltarune/undertale crew (this feels especially appropriate considering there’s only one degree of separation between it and homestuck) The ones I’m surest about are Frisk: Page of Heart, Toriel: Sylph of Doom, Asriel: Prince of Hope, Sans: Mage of Space, Undyne: Knight of Hope, Kris: Knight of Heart, Susie: Knight of Rage, Noelle: Maid of Hope, Ralsei: Sylph of Void. Any thoughts/divergent headcanons?

I gave Classpects to some of the Undertale Cast, but I don't think I ever did it with the Deltarune cast! I believe Sans may be more Time or Heart than Space, but otherwise, I may need to replay UT to be able to tell some of these for sure. As for DT- I feel there's still so much we haven't seen of Noelle and Ralsei's deals, that I'd hold off on Classpecting them until we see more. Susie, though... I'd lean Rogue maybe? Outlaw vibes fit her well.

And Now‚ An Interlude

…Also known as: I just finished playing through the Sky Peak arc and Oh My God, the chapter is going to be such a mountain (har har) of labor to pull together that I’m tossing out some crumbs in the meantime 😅

This may or may not be something I do going forward. It really depends on 1) how long it’ll take me to play through the game and do all the prep work‚ and 2) if I have anything interesting or noteworthy happen on the days that are non-plot related and purely explorations or job requests. If I do make more of these‚ they won’t be linked in my pinned post because it’s not really important enough for that. Think of it as little tidbits of treasure left for you to find!

Another reason I decided to whip this up: I needed more storage space before climbing Sky Peak and I was kind of close to leveling up in team rank from Gold to Diamond? So I knocked out four days of missions to make that happen. (Theoretically it might have taken only three‚ but I fell 20 points short on the third day 🤡)

Now‚ with that little disclaimer out of the way…

We recruited the God of Time.

…Okay‚ not really LOL. Just one of his species. But honestly‚ for a level 12, he was not that bad at all:

His abilities were Frisk and Rough Skin‚ the latter inflicting 1/2 the damage dealt by physical attacks. Which partially explains this heartstopping dynamic during the final battle of main. (But I still have no idea why Seed Flare‚ a special move‚ made Teresa get the counter.)

Now‚ I don’t recall exactly if I picked this up in a dungeon or if it was a reward for a job‚ but one way or another I got my hands on Volt Tackle‚ and boy when I say it was tempting—

That’s eight stars of power‚ y’all. And both of our gals could learn the move.

But… well‚ the more I thought about it‚ the more I wasn’t certain it made sense. As a refresher‚ here are Andrea and Teresa’s current moves:

Andrea: Blizzard‚ Smokescreen‚ Octazooka‚ Mach Punch

Teresa: Mud Slap‚ Dizzy Punch‚ Chatter‚ Seed Flare

Let’s break that down:

Blizzard and Octazooka are both decently strong to begin with and benefit from STAB. Blizzard has a 3+ boost in power from Ginseng. And‚ as we know‚ it’s been a godsend for the absurd amount of monster houses in these dungeons.

Mach Punch (functionally the same as Quick Attack) has been too dang useful with the two tile range. You saw what happened the one time I tried to go without one. Maybe it’s a different story now that we’re a lot stronger‚ but…

Similarly‚ Smokescreen and the Whiffer status is way too OP‚ and a key part of more than a few victories in boss fights.

Dizzy Punch and Chatter also have STAB and both have the chance to confuse‚ which again can make or break survival in certain situations.

Mud Slap... Okay yeah this is a weak move‚ but the drop in accuracy with successive hits can really make a difference. This also has a 3+ Ginseng power boost‚ so it’s not like it’s infeasible. Plus I don’t want to throw those ginseng boosts away if I delete the move.

Which leaves us with… Seed Flare:

Same amount of power as Volt Tackle‚ only one star lower in accuracy‚ and no recoil. And sure‚ both Andrea and Teresa have the Rapid Healer IQ skill‚ but I’ve had too many close calls with unexpectedly hard hitting moves for me to be comfortable with recoil damage.

So‚ regretfully… into Blastoise Storage the TM went. Maybe another day.

Just casually throwing in one of the Seven Treasures as a reward for an Outlaw Job. (I already have this one so I didn’t take it.)

Also‚ who’s Magnezone?? Our cop is Spinarak‚ duh!

The names of the Zero Isles have been revealed!

Great Copse = Zero Isle North

Clean Earthworks = Zero Isle East

Brilliant Landmark = Zero Isle West

Sad Camp = Zero Isle South

I’ll be frank‚ I’m probably never going to these dungeons because they aren’t part of the story and the job requests are usually insane. But hey‚ now we know!

We also picked up this exclusive item! Between this and the North Torc (Rock type moves restore HP instead of dealing damage)‚ Andrea is becoming GOATed. Now if only I could get back that five star healing item for Teresa :(

This is a Shrek-inspired AU of Undertale where the UT characters fill the roles of Shrek characters. For example, Sans is in the role of Shrek, Papyrus fills Donkey’s role, while Frisk plays the role of Princess Fiona. Though I will make some minor tweaks to fit the UT characters.

Quick Summary:

This world is filled with humans, monsters, and magic. Though the monsters aren’t as united as they were in Undertale and are more scattered throughout the land. Some of these monsters play the roles of fairytale characters. So instead, they are called magical creatures and only refer to the ones they see as evil and/or dangerous as “monsters”.

Sans the Skeleton:

From a young age, Sans was told by his parents that the world would reject and disdain him. Saying it was for his own sake, they sent him away. And just as they said, no matter where he went, people raise their torches and pitchforks, thinking he was a result for some necromantic ritual or experiment. There were even moments, where he had to kill to protect himself. As he gained the reputation as a dangerous monster, people as well as other monsters started to fear Sans. Seeing this, Sans decided that he had enough of both humans and monsters and retreated to Mt Ebott, where he made his home. Whenever someone came to kill him or simply by mistake, he would scare them away with his Gaster Blasters. Though he’s fully capable of killing, even though it was self-defense, it left a rotten taste in his mouth and avoids it if he can help it. So he puts up warning signs around the mountain to keep everyone out. And it did, keep everyone out, and he was able to exist peacefully in isolation with him just passing time hunting for food, putting up more warning signs, as well as making up jokes to himself just for entertainment. That is, until one day, the false king of a nearby Kingdom ordered that all magical creatures be either banished and executed. And hearing about “The Monster of Ebott”, it would be the perfect place to banish them, believing that the monster would take care of the rest. Little did he know, that instead of having them killed, the magical creatures requested Sans’ help to convince him to let them return home. And with Sans, who would rather avoid killing, gave in and agreed to help. While he was on his way, he meets none other than The Great Papyrus!

The Great Papyrus:

The reason why Sans and Papyrus hadn’t met up to that point despite being brothers is because they’re half-brothers. They share the same father, but have different mothers. While Sans was warned ahead of time of how the world would treat him, Papyrus’ upbringing was drastically different. His mother wanted to protect his innocence and so raised him with hope and love. She would often read him tales of heroics and glory when he was a baby-bone. Unfortunately, his mother became ill. Luckily she was friends with an kind elderly human woman. When his mother passed, the elderly woman took care of Papyrus and even taught him how to cook. When he was old enough the woman gave him a letter from his mother, informing him about his father. Now knowing he has more family out in the world, Papyrus sets off on a journey. He wasn’t able to meet his father, but did find out about him having another son named Sans. Excited and filled with hope, Papyrus sets off to find his long lost brother. Sadly, at the time, all magical creatures have been outlawed, making Papyrus a fugitive. It was difficult, but he managed to keep his optimism as he was running from soldiers ‘til he came a across another skeleton monster that managed to make the soldiers scream like little girls as he summoned his Gaster Blaster. Awestruck, Papyrus gushed over a weirded-out Sans before asking for his name. And when Sans answered, Papyrus practically exploded with enthusiasm. Meanwhile Sans wasn’t to thrilled about finding out he had a brother he knew nothing about considering his only other family members threw him to the mercy of a world that hates him. There’s that, and the fact he prefers to be alone. But seeing as he does not know the way to the kingdom of Ebott where the False King resides and the fact that Papyrus actually knows the way and is begging to stick with him, he doesn’t have much choice other than have Papyrus be his guide.

Princess Frisk:

Being the only daughter of the royal family of the Kingdom of Ebott, Frisk was adored by her family and subjects. And all seemed well with the kingdom. All except for the fact that the King and Queen were biased against Magical Creatures and were forbidden them from entering their capital. A witch, who was raised by these magical creatures, held a lot of resentment towards the royal family for their bias and mistreatment for them. So, to teach them a lesson, casts a curse on their only child. At night, she would turn into what they hate most - a hulking monster - after the sun sets and change back by sunrise. And the only way to break the curse was true love’s kiss! As a monster, Frisk’s thin arms became oversized as her body was covered in fur, curved horns poking out of the side of her head, while fangs were being sharpened. Not only that, she became more physically strong and would sometimes spit fireballs from her hands by accident. Horrified of anyone finding out about it which would ruin their chances of finding Frisk’s true love thus breaking the curse, The King and Queen decided to lock Frisk away in an abandoned castle, guarded by a robotic dragon, which is also surrounded by molten lava. And if someone could get through all that to rescue Frisk, then it must be true love! Frisk, being a good girl who never once doubted her parents’ good intentions, believed in what they said that her Prince Charming would come a rescue her and live happily ever after. While locked up in the tower, the books of fairytales (that were based on real life events in this world) are what kept Frisk’s hopes and dreams alive as she marked the days off the walls. She also passed the time practicing some fight moves that she read from a self-defense book her mother left her. Her other past-times consisted of singing, drawing, and daydreaming. At night, she would let out her frustrations in another room as she wrecked the furniture over waiting for so long for her prince to arrive. Little did she know that as the years passed, her parents were caught up in a bandit attack while in their royal carriage. With them gone control was given to their Royal Advisor at the time. With his newfound power, he decided that magical creatures have to be banned altogether and anyone who gives them their mercy will suffer the same fate. He wanted to be recognized as the new king, but with many of the subjects who were skeptical of his rulership sense he has no royal blood, he needed a way to make it official. And the only way to do that, is for him to marry a princess, in this case, Princess Frisk. But he himself, is no warrior, and as he was examining potential candidates to rescue Princess Frisk for him, who would appear none other than the Monster of Ebott who he hoped would eliminate the rest of his kind.

Ah, but I believe that there’s a tone shift in this universe, in West Fell. This rendition takes on a more comedic light in several aspects. Now, it’s not totally devoid of any seriousness, no. There’s several dangerous dangers that both couples will have to deal with, since as I said earlier, they are from rival gangs.

There’s a period when both sides have to pretend to hate each other in public, even though their identities as outlaws are supposed to be a secret to everybody. The walls have eyes, after all. Can’t be too careful. Papyrus doesn’t have too much difficulty at first, since he’s convinced that he actually does hate Chara, because why else would his stomach feel all woozy whenever he so much as thinks about her?

For Sans though, being mean to Frisk is like pulling teeth. It almost pains him on a physical level to be even slightly rude towards her. He spends a good deal of his time afterwards in the saloon bathroom crying because his SOUL feels so filthy. He’s sobbed so much in there that rumors of Grillby’s saloon being haunted have surfaced.

Honestly, the Future Trio not questioning why Dusknoir has Funky Dragon Moves and an exclusive Abiliy honestly makes perfect sense. (Every other member of the Duskull line having Pressure or Frisk (Hidden Ability) and zero Dragon-type moves seriously weirds the Trio out.)

Future Trio accept a mission where they have to catch an outlaw Dusknoir and they're like hm we can't bring any of our dragon-type allies along to this one :/ before they remember
