Journey to Dorito Body pt 9

(I'm adding the date to these now cuz Tumblr doesn't and my memory's shit so I dont remember when I did the last one)
I took a rest day (I think it was only one) and I planning on taking the weekend off cuz it da weekend. That's for relaxing. But I stricken with anxiety and so I went to workout to make the voices in my head stupid up so maybe I can sleep.
And I gotta say...it worked. I'm still anxious about the thing but now I'm physically too tired to care. How am I supposed to give a single fuck about your concerns, Brain, when my muscles are doing the ow? Checkmate, IDIOT!
Anyway the workout itself was a bit disappointing. I didn't go down in weight (for I refuse) but I didn't do as much or go as long. I'm doing that thing...pacing myself, I think it's called.
Other than that the only thing of note is that I'm trying more leg workouts to continue my trail run of "Maybe exercise will make my joints suck less ass" and I tried active stretching today (stretching while actively holding yourself up) and turns out--and this is wild, hold on to your butts--stretching joints that are naturally too loose...makes them looser!
I know fucking wild idea! Wish I had thought that BEFORE I did it so I wouldn't have to deal with my knees buckling left right and center during my post gym walk. Bout half way thru I just started stilting it (aka walking with my knees mostly locked and just waddling like a penguin).
Muscle check!
Yeah they're still there and smol but baby steps will climb a mountain and baby steps will get me the Dortio bode I deserve!

The old Dark Empire comics where Palpatine returns and Luke becomes his apprentice for a hot minute are melodramatic and silly but I'm still fond of them. Palps dresses Luke like Vader minus the headgear and chest box and makes him replace his prosthetic with what I dearly like to think is a spare Vader hand much too large for him, and that he keeps using for way too long afterwards.
Ok first of all wow I'm sorry it took me 10 business days to respond to this. My deepest apologies, it will probably happen again.
Second of all holy shit? Like like, hold on just one hot second. This is beautiful. This is the exact kind of ridiculous tomfoolery hiding deeply fucked up implications that I love in my Star Wars. How have I never heard of this before?

Journey to Dorito Body pt 3
Guess who couldn't sleep and decided to work out instead. This guy!
It was nice work out and now I'm a bit tired so I think I'll be able to sleep tonight after all.
I did more research into the proper form and other exercises that can help build you up to doing pull-ups. Turns out when doing lats pull downs you should lean back until your abs are engaged then pull the bar to your chest. That's the proper form to train for pull-ups.
I found I could up in weight that way so that feels nice but I'm noticing that the weak link in this really is my arms. My back and shoulders are WAY stronger than my arms so I did curls and other torturous things with dumbells too.
I also started doing assisted hangs. Basically step 1 for getting to your pull-up just holding the proper form (shoulders down and back) and fuck does it hurt your hands! Yeah ouch my muscles but my hands are the thing that had me tap out. Mind you I have no calluses. Soft and weak little baby hands. I even wear workout gloves to hopefully last longer and I did but not by much. So I guess my hands are gonna get swol too during this journey.
Look at my lil baby muscles! You can't even tell I'm flexing! This will not stand. I will be strong like bear in forest!

i have strained the same muscle in both arms.
i only seem to pull muscles when i sleep. rarely when im actually doing something.

So turns out, spending the day lugging around two cats, one weighing 9 lbs and the other weighing 13, in a carrier that probably weighs at least 2 lbs on its own, all with one hand because the other is holding Important Paperwork, and also in the rain, isn't good for your back. Who knew?
Next Valley Echoes comic might be delayed. Or it might be here early! Depends on what position my back locks me in overnight.

Something you dont really realise until after starting to use a mobility aid (cane/crutches)
How the fuck am i supposed to go to the grocery store by myself? I can’t carry much already and then with my cane or with crutches my ability to hold shit is suddenly really decreased. And no, i cant just lean on the cart and hope for the best unfortunately that doesn’t really work
