When the world was at war... we fell in love
The year is 2022, and life, real life, is far from idyllic. The world has become hostile to what is generally considered as outsider: money will give you a free pass in a bigoted society controlled by conservative capitalism. Poverty is higher than ever, even in the now Free States of the New America, a country previously known as the United States of America. Such country is cruel to people like Regina Mills, whose family is overwhelmed by debt.
However, there's still a 1% of the population who is lucky enough to live in a protected bubble. People like Mary Margaret Blanchard, who has everything she could ever wish. As her eighteenth birthday comes around, there's nothing she would want for her birthday.
Except for love.
Her parents, who want nothing but happiness for their little girl, gift her the only thing she secretly longs for: a bride.
In a world where buying and selling people as if they were objects has become a normal affair, a wealthy girl finds herself owning her crush, a poor girl whose biggest desire is to save her family from poverty.

A/N: I think this is absolutely not what you expected with this request dear anon. However the first thing I thought of was an AU with dark Mina x the evil Queen so I hope nevertheless you enjoy this <3 For anyone who has watched ouat please ignore how I altered the curse and changed the story

The dense greenery of the enchanted forest sways gentle in the cool breeze, casting shifting patterns of shadow and light upon the forest floor. With swift motions, you run through the tangled undergrowths, your breathing coming in ragged gasps as you glance over your shoulders, trying to see if they had gone, if you were safe.
Moments before, your day looked like it usually did, as you found yourself in the heart of the village, your heart heavy with the weight of injustice. The villagers lacking the most basic things including food, water and supplies to survive, due to the Queen's oppressive rules. And somehow over the years, after slowly losing your family and purpose altogether, you turned out to be an aid for the poor lost souls in the forest and village, their silent pleas echoing in the depths of your soul.
Somehow you had turned into your own version of a Robin Hood, wanting to help out, regularly crossing boundaries and stealing from the Queen's garden and palace grounds in order to provide for them, rid them of the poverty and pain they had endured for years now. And somehow, today you had been careless, not caring about the sound of alarms piercing through the stillness of the night. The queen's guards descended upon the village with ruthless efficiency, riding their horses, their gleaming armour announcing their presences further.
And now as you attempt fleeing through the labyrinth of the forest, trying to reach your sanctuary hidden deeply inside the forest, the branches tear at your clothes, the thorns pricking your skin and causing for blood to run down your arms and legs, leaving a crimson reminder of your foolishness before. Fear and desperation mingles in your veins as you push and push forward, occasionally glancing behind your shoulder to reassure that you would manage to lose them again, just like you had done many times. And if you were in a clear state of mind, you would have noticed that you took a wrong turn, ignoring the wanted poster with both your face on it, among other faces, like Snow White, all enemies to the queen who had been on her wanted list for quite some time now.
With a loud thud, you feel yourself losing your balance as you must have bumped into something, feeling a warm sensation before hitting your head on a nearby branch. It takes a little while for your vision to clear, before you find yourself face-to-face with a woman cloaked in darkness, her sharp features illuminated by a flickering lantern. Through a teary vision, due to the pain piercing through your body, you notice dark red hair styled in a sharp quiff, a shade of very dark purple, almost black coating her body. There's a calculating gleam in her eyes, as she finds you pathetically whimpering on the floor, her lips curled into a smirk.
,,Well well'' she remarks, her voice hushed ,,You seem to have gotten yourself into quite a predicament, running from the queens guards I presume?'' she questions and if it wasn't for the pain, you would have noticed the odd sense of familiarity you seem to feel and how you almost would have recognised her. Your heart pounds in your chest, torn between fleeing, the sound of shouting guards and horses still lingering in the air. But there was something about the woman's demeanour that stops you, a sense of intrigue mixed with caution.
Before you can respond, the older woman bends a little to place the lantern on the floor, the bright sensation causing you to close your eyes only momentarily. As you open them again, you watch as she balances on a cane before extending a gloved hand, offering assistance. ,,Come with me'' she offers, her tone surprisingly gentle. ,,I can offer you refuge, but you must trust me''.
Despite the feeling of doom and danger, you see a glimmer of hope in her offer, and so with a silent nod, you accept her outstretched hand, allowing her to lead you deeper into the shadowy depths of the enchanted forest. And it takes several minutes, for the pain to stop throbbing, the blood from your earlier wounds to stop pouring, until you can collect your thoughts. And as you walk behind her, following the sound of her cane and the light source provided by the small lantern she carries, something about the way she walked alarms you. And then it finally dawns on you, finding the familiar trees with carvings on them, where she was leading you, your secret path to the palace that you would often use in order to sneak to the grounds to steal in order to provide for the poor souls of the village.
And then at last it dawns on you who was walking in front of you, who's assistance you agreed upon. You didn't know her name, you had heard it plenty of times but you couldn't recall it, only remembering how she was the assistant to the wicked queen, the people in the village often mentioning her, how she never spoke much but was always by her side. As the forest echos with whispers of secrets, yet to be revealed, panic shoots through your veins, glancing around you to think of a quick escape and as you stop walking, you are quick to turn around, trying pathetically to begin running, however your legs give in as you feel a sharp pain, before everything goes black, having calculated your steps wrong, having put your trust in the wrong hands as the woman never had the intention of helping you, knowing you had been searched and chased for the longest time.
While you battle through unconsciousness, the woman had already alerted the same guards that had chased you before, who carried you inside the palace, the place that you had feared for years. And as the woman returns to the queens chambers in the middle of the night, not disturbing much sleep as her majesty had been awake, pacing back and forth contemplating her next steps and the secret curse she had been planning on casting for years, almost on the verge of completing it, finally having all the necessary ingredients, her peace is interrupted. ,,Busy'' she snarls as she is lost in her pacing, unaware who is standing in front of her.
,,Something demands your attention in the dungeons, your majesty'' the redhead woman announces, causing for the brunette to turn around, as her eyes sparkle with curiosity. And as her curiosity gets ahold of her, she brushes past her most loyal assistant yet, the sound of the queens heels and the other woman's cane echoing through the castle as they pass countless guards. And at last they make it to the dungeons, watching your almost lifeless frame on the floor, in restraints. ,,Well well'' the queen chuckles lowly, glancing at the other woman with a hint of excitement in her brown eyes. ,,Was she caught stealing my apples again?'' she chuckles as she approaches you a little closer.
,,No your majesty, I found her in the woods'' the other woman announces, causing for the queens head to snap in her direction, as she bites her lip in anticipation, almost a hint of lust in her eyes. As you slowly wake up, despite your body screaming in pain, you open your eyes, catching a glimpse of the woman who you had feared for the longest time, accompanied by the woman you had wrongly put your trust into hours before. ,,You lied to me'' you scream, struggling through the restrains as anger flashes in your eyes. The Queen simply chuckles lowly, seeing your pathetic attempts to regain your freedom. ,,My dear, you have no idea who this is do you?'' the queen remarks, causing you to avert your gaze in frustration. ,,This my dear is Wilhemina Venable, my most loyal companion'' she begins, her hand wandering to the redheads cheek, squeezing it a little, her eyes sparkling with pride for how she had managed to capture you after her countless failed attempts in the past.
And despite the circumstances, your eyes betray you as you watch the scene unfold before you, for the first time really getting a glimpse of both women. And you couldn't deny how utterly beautiful they were, at least from the outside, both their hair styled sharply, exposing their faces plastered in dark makeup, the same brown eyes despite the different shades. The queen was wearing one of her usual dresses, black this time, plastered in diamonds and jewels, Wilhemina dressed entirely in a dark shade of purple. While the queen is busy with admiring the other woman, feeling drawn to her for capturing you, you watch as the redheads brown eyes travel towards you, almost a sign of pity in them before she speaks again.
,,What are you planning on doing with her your majesty?'' causing for the queen to chuckle, and you knew what this meant as you had always been running from death, knowing you had deserved it for stealing and running from her for years. Closing your eyes, you wait for what awaits, waiting for her to open the bars, approach and rip out your heart, as you had watched her do it to innocent people many times. However to your surprise she begins pacing a little, thinking about what to do with you. ,,I think we'll keep her'' she announces with a chuckle, and as you open your eyes you notice the confusion in the redheads features.
,,Where she comes from my dear, people bathe in the river and use pinecones for money'' she exclaims, her eyes piercing right through you. ,,I think she can be of great assistance, considering she knows the village and forest so well'' she carries on, Wilhemina simply nodding, trying to avert your eyes. ,,She would make an excellent pet'' is the last thing her majesty says before leaving, leaving behind a very puzzled and confused Wilhemina. She looks at you one more time before following, leaving behind an ever confused you. ,,Pet?'' you think to yourself, trying to pinch yourself to see if this was all just a dream or if maybe you had already died a while ago.
The remainder of the night is spent in the eery dungeons, the restraints keeping you from moving all that much and so the only thing you can do is try and relax as much as the situation allows you, leaning your head against the cold and damp wall behind you, trying to calm the raging storm of thoughts. Eventually sleep finds you, despite it being broken as the castle was considerably loud, even in the night and sometimes you thought you heard screams from the lost souls that had found their ending in the same dungeons you are sitting in. The next morning, you are awoken by one of the guards, as he undoes your restraints, pulling you up by your arms and forcing your shaky legs to follow him as he takes you towards her majesty.
With heavy eyes from the remaining pain lingering on your body and lack of comfortable sleep, you blink a few times as he lets go of you, dropping to your knees in the process. And as you glance around, you notice an unfamiliar room, filled with fancy mirrors, a balcony overlooking the palace grounds, a large dining table and fireplace to the side. And you also notice the same two familiar faces that you had last seen last night, Wilhemina sitting in one of the armchairs by the lit fireplace, her cane resting beside her, the same shade of dark purple but a different outfit. And in front of you, you find her majesty, wearing a red dress, her hair down and despite it all looking beautiful, yet intimidating.
For some reason, you feel the urge to stand up and so with all the strength left you balance and face her as she takes slow and calculated steps around you, walking in a little circle, occasionally glancing at the other woman in the room before speaking. ,,Now now, what are we going to do with you, pet?'' she questions with a little chuckle and it causes you to gulp, wondering just why she hadn't killed you yet, considering all the wanted posters and the hatred you knew she felt towards you for your actions.
The room fills with silence before a low chuckle ripples through it, this time not from the queen but her loyal companion. ,,We can have her for supper can't we dear?''. And again they have you gulping and you could easily try to make an escape, the guards having disappeared now, despite expecting them outside this room. But your curiosity keeps you on your shaky legs, glancing at the older woman who continues circling you like prey. ,,No, no'' she tuts, shaking her head a little ,,We can't waste such a beautiful little thing, now can we?'' her voice sounds almost mocking and you have no idea whether she was being genuine or not.
Silence stretches on, before an idea pops into your mind, knowing what her majesty desired and considering she hadn't killed you yet, maybe you could truly be of assistance to her and her companion, maybe just maybe you could even continue to do what you had been doing, helping out the villagers if you played your cards right. ,,Your majesty?'' you try and her head snaps towards you, eyebrows raised as she never expected one of her prisoners to speak to her like this, adress her in the correct way, other than if she was about to take their life. ,,Yes?'' she questions curiously, her eyebrow remaining raised. You clear your throat before speaking again ,,You are trying to look for Snow White correct?'' you speak carefully, knowing this subject was more than a little touchy to her.
,,Yes, do continue'' she ushers, as her eyes lock with yours. ,,I am not the biggest fan of her either your majesty, perhaps I could be of assistance to help you find her?'' While Wilhemina chuckles, the brunette walks away sighing before she turns to you again, her eyes overtaken by anger. ,,Did she also get the one you loved most in this world killed?'' her voice is filled with venom, though her eyes filled with pain. Wilhemina averts her gaze, knowing Regina for a very long time now and knowing how much that had changed her. ,,No, of course not, I'm sorry your majesty'' you begin speaking again before adding ,,But we have met briefly and I can help you find her'' you try again.
This time the redhead woman stands up, her cane echoing through the room before she halts right in front of you, her dark brown eyes piercing through you. ,,We have our own spies in the village, what makes you think you can find her?'' she spits, almost feeling pitty at your pathetic attempt. ,,Well Ms Venable, you also have tried to find me for years and I know what it's like... to run, you know?''. Her eyebrows raise in the same way the queens had moments before, admiring how polite you are, admiring your manners despite it all and being able to tell that you didn't do any of this to be spared as she is utterly aware you could have tried to make an escape by now or even simply accept your fate.
,,If you don't like that, perhaps I could be of assistance with your gardens your majesty'' you try next, trying to think of anything to make yourself useful to them, while still seeing some of your own gain and advantage. The queen smiles then before turning serious ,,You mean those same gardens you have stolen from many times?'' she scoffs, glancing at Wilhemina who remains in front of you, her presence intimidating. ,,It's just I couldn't help but notice how some of the fruit didn't exactly look too healthy your majesty and your stunning castle, deserves a worthy garden'' you finish your proposal, assuming that she would kill you next or send you back to the dungeons.
,,Guard'' she shouts and as he enters hastily, you close your eyes, awaiting your fate. ,,Get me the gardener now'' she shouts and as he practically runs away, Wilhemina's eyes widen as she turns her head to face the queen, surprised she would listen to you, especially the possibility of agreeing as she knows exactly what is about to happen. A little while later a middle aged man enters the room, almost tripping over his feet, clearly intimidated by the presence. ,,I hear you haven't been taking care of my gardens the way you are meant to'' she tuts, and with a swift motion, before he even gets the chance to explain himself, she has him on the floor, with a flick of her wrist his neck snapped, moments later the guards carrying his lifeless body from the floor a few steps away from you.
All you can do is freeze, feeling terrible that this was the result of your words, not thinking about the consequences your proposal held for the innocent man. And despite feeling like screaming, you stay still, not daring to look up at either of them right now, the realisation slowly sinking in that this wasn't good, that you are trapped by a deranged witch and her odd companion. ,,Fine'' she finally speaks again ,,You can look after the gardens and you may be free to go to the village whenever you please and provide me with information on Snow White'' the queen speaks, before she approaches you. As you look up, you watch as she brushes past Wilhemina before taking your cheeks into her hand and squeezing them ,,But if you think for one second you can escape and not return, you are mistaken'' she warns and as your eyes lock with hers, you can't help and fight the tears beginning to swell in them. ,,Yes your majesty'' you agree with shaky breaths, before she releases you from her tight grasp.
,,Guard'' she shouts again, the same guard entering hastily yet again. ,,Take Y/N to a room, she will be overlooking the gardens and feed us information on snow white'' she explains, before he nods ,,Yes your majesty'' he speaks before he ushers you to follow him. And you do, not once looking back, your feet still shaky from the interaction that had unfolded. The walk feels like it lasts a lifetime, until he finally leads you to a door, opening it and ushering you to go inside. It wasn't nice in the slightest, a lot of dirt, spider webs, barely even a window but there was a little table and chair, a bed even and it connected to what you assume to be a small bathroom. And despite it giving you dungeon vibes all over again, at least you wouldn't be restrained any longer, regaining a small sense of your freedom. He leaves moments later, and you can't help but collapse onto the bed, it really wasn't much of a bed, more of a mattress but nevertheless, you close your eyes as sleep finally washes over your tired body and aching bones.
The next time your eyes force open, it's a few hours later and as you glance around the small room, you find some things that had been left on the small table. As your curiosity gets ahold of you, you find a few sets of clothes, a washcloth and even some papers and pens and despite unsure who had left it there, you appreciate it. Moments later you finally rid your body from the dirt and blood that the last two days had left on you, putting on some of the clothes and leaving your room. It takes you several minutes to find a guard, asking if he could point you in the direction of the gardens and hesitantly he does, leading you to what you assume to be the old gardeners shed as you find all the necessary tools and so without thinking about it, you get to work, watering the bushes, trimming some of them to get them into perfect shape, nurturing some of the fruits and vegetables and correcting any mistakes that the previous gardener had made, for whatever reason taking this task quite seriously.
It's dark as you eventually return inside, quickly having the hang of it by now and finding your room, finding a meal on your table and despite again unsure who had left it, feeling grateful as you hadn't realised until now how much you had been starving. After finishing your meal, you change your clothes again, washing the now dirty ones from working in the gardens all day, before sitting on your bed crossed leg, trying to figure out what to do as beside the day light, you had lost all sense of time a little bit. And so the only thing you can do is reach for the pen and papers, writing down the events from the past few days, sketching a little as well as it always had been your passion, unsure why but it really being the only thing you could do and several hours later passing out on your bed as sleep washes over you.
The next day, you find yourself doing the same things, her gardens were huge and as her majesty overlooks them, finding you working as you kneel on the floor, planting some flowers, she can't help but watch carefully, something about you utterly intriguing. You lose yourself in your task, unaware of who was watching before a presence startles you, causing you to drop your tools clumsily. You watch as Ms Venable circles around you, carefully observing without speaking a single word and it for sure intimidates you, having her observing and careful eyes on you. ,,You seem good at this'' she states, noticing how all the bushes and hedges had the exact same length and a part of her confused as to how you had managed that. ,,Thank you Ms Venable'' you almost whisper, after the last encounter quite terrified of them both and she can tell. ,,Have you managed to gather any information yet?'' she questions curiously and you gulp then before looking up at her as you still kneel on the floor.
,,Not yet, I was wondering whether I may be allowed to leave this afternoon to try and I was wondering whether I would be allowed to collect some seeds?'' you ask, your voice shaky. ,,Seeds?'' she chuckles then, almost mocking your words. ,,Yes Ms to plant some more vegetables and fruit and flowers you see'' you try your best to convince her. ,,I'm sure her majesty doesn't mind, as long as you return in the evening and report back to us'' she almost scolds, her features turning more serious and stern. ,,Of course Ms Venable, thank you'' is all you reply with a small smile, unsure why you had smiled in the first place but it somehow came natural. And before you know it she leaves, her cane echoing with each step before it stops altogether as she reaches the palace again.
Several hours later, you finally make your way to the village, using your secret path through the forest, stopping briefly by your hide out and gathering some of your things, putting them all in a small bag and changing into one of your usual outfits, feeling much more comfortable that way. You opted for one of your beige ones, leather trousers, boots and a vest, a shoulder bag with your belongings. On the way to the village, you had also collected some seeds, hoping if you worked briefly and hard on the gardens, you could still provide the village with food, hoping that you could somehow stuff it in your bags so no one would notice. And as you finally make it to the village, you are met with the usual families, the children greeting you excitedly as they knew you always brought them things but today you unfortunately come empty handed. ,,We haven't seen you for a couple of days'' one of the villagers exclaims, scanning your features and noticing some cuts and bruises on your face. ,,Brief encounter with some guards'' you chuckle, not wanting to go into too much detail. ,,I don't have anything today unfortunately but I should soon'' you exclaim, however you are met with compassion and understanding.
,,Have either of you heard anything about Snow White lately?'' you ask the group of villagers, before most of them shake their head. ,,I believe she has last been seen up north, by the rivers'' one of them exclaims and you simply nod, appreciating their honesty, despite feeling terrible considering what game you are playing. Noticing the beginning dawn, the sun beginning to set, you opt to return to the palace, knowing you would never be able to make the journey up north within the next few hours. And it doesn't take long until you find yourself in front of the familiar back door, some guards already awaiting you. ,,Your majesty wants to see you'' he explains before you gulp and follow him.
He guides you back into the room you had been in before, the two of them sitting by the fireplace, before you stand awkwardly, feeling as if you are interrupting their peace. ,,Tell me, any information?'' the queen questions before she stands up and walks over to you. ,,Yes your majesty, apparently up north by the river'' you explain before she signals to the guard who remained standing there before he leaves at her instructions. ,,I would have checked the information for myself but I know I needed to return tonight'' you explain yourself and she simply furrows her eyebrows before scanning you, noticing the outfit change and the bag. ,,Well well, did our little pet make a stop somewhere?'' she asks, glancing at Wilhemina who simply watches with a chuckle. The brunette is quick to take the bag from you, her eyes glancing through the contents of it, noticing some seed pouches and chuckling as the redhead had filled her in on your earlier request. ,,What is this?'' she questions, holding up your notebook.
,,My notebook your majesty'' you exclaim, averting her gaze as your cheeks grow red a little. She skips through the pages, impressed with the several sketches, some from the villages, some from the forest and even one of her castle. She slides it back into your bag, before walking back over to her armchair, leaving you confused and stranded, unsure what to do next. ,,I feel like some tea, you dear?'' the queen announces and you aren't sure whether to leave them to it or whether they still needed you. ,,Of course'' the redhead begins, reaching for her cane but the queen stops her by waving her hand. ,,No no'' she tuts ,,We have a pet now remember dear'' she instructs and Wilhemina simply chuckles before they both look at you. You glance around the room, unsure where you are supposed to get tea from, however the redhead glances towards a backdoor behind the dining table and you nod gratefully before quickly walking through the door, finding a small tea kitchen there.
And so it doesn't take long before you enter the room again, carrying a little tray, before approaching them, with shaking hands placing it in front of them. ,,Anything else I can get you?'' you ask almost obediently and if you would have looked, you would have noticed the sparkle in Wilhemina's eyes. ,,No pet, but how about you join us considering you did so well today, I heard they have a trail on Snow White'' the queen chuckles and your eyes widen at her offer, but as Wilhemina pats the space next to her, you simply obey, quickly pouring the tea for them, before glancing at the fire, softly crackling, providing you with some warmth, as you feel a little awkward, under their careful gazes. ,,So tell me Y/N, what led you to steal from me in the first place?'' the queen begins, causing you to gulp as the last thing you expected was to find yourself having small talk over tea with them. ,,Yes Y/N'' Wilhemina mockingly carries on ,,We want to hear all about you'' she exclaims, again having you gulping and squirming in your seat.
The next few weeks, carry on the same way they had previously, most of your days are spent with taking care of the gardens, regularly going back to your village, providing them with some of the food that you had grown and nurtured, in secret of course. Your nights mostly looked the same as well, spending them in your room, doing some writing or sketching in your notebooks. However lately, they had often demanded your presence in the evening as well, as you often provided them with tea, the occasional wine, and any information you had on Snow White. And you couldn't help but notice how they seemed a little less strict, they stopped calling you pet and started with your actual name. You are sure by now they know that you have continued providing for your village and they hadn't killed you yet, not even mentioned it. And so, ever so slowly, your life at the palace felt almost normal as you had quite the freedom now, not having to let the guards know where you are going as they and her majesty knew you would always return in the evenings. And so it almost felt like home, appreciating the fact that you don't have to sleep on the wet and cold forest floor anymore but you knew there was something off, you should be terrified, trying to run from them after seeing all the horrible things they had done in the past but something about being around them so much, you started to understand more about the queens pain and the reason for her actions.
,,Where on earth is she?'' she paces around her large chambers, the anger flaring in her eyes as her magic sparks, her emotions bubbling out of the brunette.
Her loyal companion, sits by the fireplace, trying to keep her composure, before balancing on her cane, the sound echoing through the room. ,,I'm sure she just lost track of time'' the redhead tries calming her down, placing a hand on the queens shoulder but she is having none of that, quickly escaping her grasp. ,,She always returns, we were foolish to believe that she wouldn't betray us'' her raised voice rings through the air again, startling the redhead a little.
And Wilhemina wasn't sure whether the queen was actually concerned for your wellbeing, or simply considering whether to kill you, having noticed how Regina had almost gone soft since bringing you to the castle, still plotting her curse that she had worked on for a while but considerably softer with the people in the villages, especially your village. She knew all about you still providing them with food and yet Regina hadn't kill you and so Wilhemina had began wondering whether the brunette may feel the same way about you that Wilhemina had started, despite never talking about it.
The silence is interrupted when a guard enters ,,Your majesty'' he begins but she was having none of it. ,,Not now'' she shouts, waving her hand, getting ready to send him flying out the door. ,,Your majesty, we have finally found her'' he announces, the sound of more guards filling the air before her head snaps towards him. ,,Snow White?'' she questions, despite your best information and efforts lately, they still hadn't managed to capture her. ,,No your majesty'' he begins, before Wilhemina's heart stops in her chest.
They watch as another guard, drags your body inside, your face filled with blood as it pours from your mouth, your clothes stained and bruises beginning to plaster your face. Your eyes are closed as they throw you on the floor, in front of both women, smiling at themselves thinking they had captured you. ,,Are you both out of your minds?'' she shouts and the smiles quickly vanish from the guards faces. ,,Your majesty, Y/N has been searched for years'' he tries to justify his actions. ,,Didn't you two fools get the memo? she hasn't been searched for months, she belongs to this palace'' Wilhemina shouts, usually keeping her composure but unable to in this moment.
,,Pathetic idiots'' the evil queen shouts, in a swift motion making them turn into dust, wiping them from their existence quicker than either of them can take their next breath or justify their pathetic actions. Wilhemina is quick to rid you from the chains, her hand brushing past your cheek, the blood staining her leather gloves. Almost helplessly, Wilhemina turns to Regina, who simply stands frozen, before turning on her heels, abandoning you both as she leaves towards her balcony, trying hard to keep her emotions and rage at bay.
The battle of unconsciousness wins in the end, barely aware of the encounter that took place and so when you wake next, you find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings, a dark room, the only light sources some candles. As you try and force open your eyes, you notice the interior almost entirely a dark shade of lilac and your eyebrows furrow, trying to recollect the events from before. All you remember is trying to make your way back to the castle, stumbling upon some guards who clearly had no idea who you were and how they didn't listen to your pathetic attempts of explaining. How they beat you, hurt you and dragged you back to what you assume to be the castle. The last thing you see before sleep washes over your tired and beaten body is the lilac large sofa you are laying on before everything goes black and quiet.
Meanwhile Wilhemina had returned to the queens chambers, opting between getting you back to your room or a little closer to them and so she decides for one of her rooms in the end, needing the help of a guard to get you there, yet she trusted that same guard, having helped her with some of her secret missions in the past. She watched over you for a while, gently ridding you from the blood and changing your clothes for you, unsure why she was doing it but ignoring the thought for now, wanting to check on Regina. She finds the other woman still standing on her balcony, overlooking the gardens, despite the darkness of the night surrounding them. The cane echoing announces the redheads presence, as she stands beside her majesty, silence surrounding them.
,,How is she?'' the brunette asks, not averting her gaze from the dark night sky for a moment. ,,Fine'' Wilhemina mutters, still unsure how to read Regina's actions so far regarding you. And as the redhead catches a glimpse of the other woman's brown eyes, she can see something unfamiliar in them, something she couldn't read. ,,She's causing me to go soft'' she suddenly speaks, taking Wilhemina by surprise. ,,Is that such a bad thing?'' she questions in return, the queen averting her eyes again at the redheads statement. ,,Where is she?'' Regina asks after a moment of silence before Wilhemina speaks again. ,,She's safe'' and the statement causes for the queens eyebrows to furrow as her eyes draw towards the redheads again. ,,Where is she?'' she speaks again before Wilhemina swallows hard ,,In my room''.
,,Your room?'' her eyebrows raise now, surprised at the statement. ,,You are going soft too my dear'' she chuckles before giving her companion that nod, that nod that indicated she was tired and would retreat to her own chambers for the night. ,,Good night your majesty'' Wilhemina speaks before giving her the space she had silently asked for and retreating to her own room. In her room, she finds you still asleep and a wave of worry washes over her, having seen some of your wounds when changing and washing you before, concerned at the severity of them. ,,Y/N?'' she speaks almost softly, almost lovingly, so unlike the usual stern and intimidating woman. And her soft voice draws you from sleep instantly, as you open your eyes. And then it kinda dawns on you, who's room you are in and you instantly jolt, thinking you didn't belong there, unaware of who had put you there in the first place.
,,I'm so sorry Ms Venable'' you try, your voice still hoarse from sleep. ,,I don't know how I got here'' you apologise, trying to balance on your feet, however a sudden wave of pain washes over your body, causing you to tumble forward but a steady body forces you to remain still, stopping you from falling over. ,,It's okay dear'' she speaks so softly yet again and as you look up, you catch a glimpse of her brown eyes and how they sparkle, how suddenly she seems so much nicer, so much less intimidating and just a person, not the evil queens loyal companion. ,,Come on, let's sit you down'' she tries and you quickly obey, not wanting to cause any discomfort for her, unsure why she used a cane in the first place, but often sensing how uncomfortable she was whenever you caught a glimpse of her.
,,I put you here'' she confesses, causing your eyebrows to furrow in confusion but when the realisation sets in, your cheeks growing red a little, feeling silly for your earlier panic. ,,Is the pain quite bad?'' she asks, her features filled with concern but you quickly shake your bed. ,,No Ms Venable'' you assure, the pain much better now despite the remaining feeling of unbalance whenever standing up. The room fills with silence as you catch a glimpse of what you assume to be her chambers, the large wooden wardrobe in a corner, a large mirror, a desk with several books on them, two armchairs and a fireplace in the corner. As your eyes meet hers again you can't help but notice how she is staring at you, looking at you up and down as your eyebrows furrow in confusion, mirroring her actions to check if there was something wrong with your appearance.
,,You are quite pretty for a peasant'' she speaks quietly and now you are definitely contemplating whether you are awake, whether this was real. ,,Tha- Thank you Ms Venable'' you stumble over your words, unsure what to reply before she speaks again ,,You may call me Wilhemina'' she offers ,,But only when we are alone'' she instructs and you quickly nod your head, feeling a knot form in your stomach. The room fills with silence again, as you feel yourself relaxing in her presence a little, trying to think how you had gotten here in the first place, how being captured after all these years got you to a first name basis with her majesty's most trusted person. ,,What happened to you tonight?'' Wilhemina asks, drawing your thoughts and eyes back to her.
And then without hesitation and the usual composure you have around them, you fill her in on what had happened with the guards, and she listens intently, her jaw stiffening a couple of times when mentioning some of the more violent details. Before she can reply, the door bursts open, and your eyes widen when seeing the queen enter, in a dark nightgown, her hair down, the makeup gone and for the first time feeling like actually seeing Regina. ,,I can't sleep'' she sighs before noticing your presence and tensing her shoulders, not expecting you to still be there as it had been hours since Wilhemina mentioned having you in her room and assuming by now that you had left to your own room again.
,,And what are you still doing here?'' she questions, more to Wilhemina than yourself really. ,,We were just talking'' Wilhemina informs, her features remaining neutral. ,,I'll leave you to it your majesty'' you speak, quickly on your feet and ignoring the pain and dizziness as you brush past her and return to your own room. That night you have a hard time finding sleep, equally to the queen before, as you toss and turn at first, before eventually giving up on the idea of sleep and retreating to the comfort of your words and sketches as the pen flies over the pages of your notebook.
The next morning you return to your usually tasks, going on about your day, finding an odd sense of peace and quiet in the gardens. Unaware who was again looking over you, observing quietly from her balcony. And the next few weeks continue just like that, you going on about your usual tasks, having your evening encounters with both women who stopped tolerating your presence and started appreciating it, as you bring an odd sense of calm around them, some life into their monotone lives. And within those weeks you feel yourself increasingly drawn to both women, especially after they had taken you to your village a few days ago in the queens carriage, how you assumed Regina was going to bring her usual wrath of violence over people but instead her carriage brought food and supplies for your people and you couldn't believe your eyes, just as stunned as the poor people who feared as soon as they heard the queens guards and carriage arrive.
And you wondered whether maybe, just maybe the queen was going soft, unaware of the events that had taken turn behind closed doors, of how the queen had casted her spell and how it was slowly brewing, unaware of what it would bring, chaos, forgetting and what she had always desired most- her own version of a happy ending. And so tonight, you were unaware that the upcoming day would bring just that, unaware that tonight was your last with them. You had been confused about the queens unusual cheerful mood, how she had invited you to join them for supper, how Wilhemina could barely stand your gaze. How silently Wilhemina had pleaded for the queen to stop her curse but she couldn't stop it as it had been brewing silently for months and how nothing could stop it now, despite her beginning to silently regret it, despite her never admitting that to no one, not even herself really.
You find yourself sitting beside Wilhemina by the fireplace, how her eyes linger on the dancing flames, not having said much all night. ,,Wilhemina, is everything okay?'' you question silently and as her eyes meet yours, you see the pain, the doubts in them and so many unspoken words. However, your peace is interrupted when the queen enters, the door banging shut in the process and your heart stopping in your chest as you notice what she was carrying in her hands. Your notebook slaps against the table as she throws it on it, leaving behind a very confused and startled Wilhemina.
,,What is this?'' the redhead questions, her eyes meeting the angry queens eyes.
,,Ask her'' Regina spits, her angry eyes meeting yours. Wilhemina's eyebrows furrow in confusion as she looks at you. You can't do anything but stand, taking a step towards her majesty, knowing if she had read it, you would be beyond screwed.
,,I can explain your majesty'' you pathetically try but before you get the chance to, she takes a step closer, the echoing of her heels matching her inner turmoil as her eyes shoot daggers towards you, before you gasp as a hand extracts your heart, watching in shock as she holds it in her hands, the sound of it beating steadily filling the room.
,,Regina-'' Wilhemina shouts, quickly on her feet and her eyes travelling from you to the brunette.
,,I have had a feeling this carried your secrets'' she speaks, her eyes wandering towards your notebook. ,,And I wasn't surprised to read all your little confessions, find all your little sketches'' she speak almost mockingly, her eyes filled with both rage and pain.
,,Regina- what is it?'' Wilhemina tries again, her heart beating fast, her hands trembling with fear.
,,She loves us dear, both of us, the pages are filled with it'' she informs her companion, who simply stands there with a shocked expression as the room begins spinning a little.
,,Regina stop'' Wilhemina demands, her eyes pleading with the queen, her cane banging on the floor twice.
Regina's grip on your heart tightens, her gaze cold as she holds it in her hands, causing you to gasp for air. ,,Stop?'' she repeats, her tone dripping with disdain. ,,Why would I stop? when I have finally uncovered the truth about our little pet?''
Fear courses through your veins as you watch the scene unfold before you. Wilhemina's eyes widen in shock, her features mixed with disbelief and anguish. ,,Regina please'' she pleads again, her voice barely above a whisper ,,This isn't necessary''
,,You know that she loves us, you have known for a while now, we both have'' she pleads again as she steps forward, her voice filled with desperation.
Regina's eyes flicker with anger but Wilhemina continues, her words gaining strength. ,,Love should triumph over revenge'' she argues, her gaze never leaving Regina's.
The Queen's expression softens slightly at Wilhemina's words, a flicker of doubt crossing her features. For a moment it seems as though she might relent, before she senses that her curse almost reached you, knowing it was too late, that she couldn't fix this, before her eyes harden once more, her resolve returning.
"Love is a weakness, Wilhemina," she retorts, her voice cold and unforgiving. "It blinds us, makes us vulnerable. We cannot afford such weakness in our world."
Before Wilhemina can respond, having heard those same words fall many times from the queens lips, Regina reaches out and places your heart back in your chest. The pain is intense, causing you to drop to the floor, and as Regina leaves the room, Wilhemina rushes to your side, abandoning her cane, pulling you into her arms as she braces for whatever comes next.
As she glances towards the door where Regina stands, a thick cloud of purple and green already surrounding her, the dark curse finally having reached you, she is quick to press a tender kiss to your lips, causing your eyes to open. ,,I love you Y/N'' she murmurs against your mouth, her voice filled with emotion. ,,No matter what happens, remember that''
Then, as the room fills with smoke and darkness, Wilhemina shields you with her body, trying to protect you from the curse's effects. As the world fades around you, you cling to her, unaware of what is happening, unaware that in a matter of seconds you would forget everything, forget them, forget your life and the woman still trying desperately to hold you close, despite it being useless.

In the lower left corner of dungeons within castle held a dimly shaped cell surrounded by rock, dust and debris. On the walls held starching marks made with a small dagger counting the hours spent inside each and how many more days until release. On the ground of that very cell held Snow White in her dusty white dress, slightly knotted hair and shoes that used to be as white as snow now a cover in a light brown.
Her body was laying peacefully or so it seemed, deeply unconscious from eating the very apple set up for her that very night.
Hovering over her body from the other end of the cell held a man dressed in black, smirking as he said, “No wonder why they say your one of the fairest of the land..makes sense my brother likes you. Your disobedient little pest like him, yet again he could never get a woman long enough to stay for him. The real question let’s see if he can get here in time before that poison reaches the rest of your body and never wake up.”
Alexander got a fierce tip from his soldiers and other royals that his brother has been wondering around the woods like a hopeless dog running away like a coward trying to protect himself from him. In response, he made sure to keep an eye on that particular spot of his brother’s heart. He knew death was too easy of an excuse for him, but then he wondered, what’s worse than death? Suffering that feeling of loss and the pain that comes with it!
And then little Snow White walked into his heart. His smirk only grew, if Nicholas truly wanted and loved this woman he will have to prove it himself. He may hate his brothers guts, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to see him put up a fight and see if there is still something there.
If he’s really willing to go the distance for something as stupid as love..

As Charming prepared for battle that morning come, his mind raced with millions thoughts of a millisecond ranging from blaming himself for losing her to the fire that boil at that mere thought of her suffering by King Midas men.
His sword in hand burned at how tight his grip was held, placing it into it’s rightful spot by his side. He sniffled glaring remembering the arguments held with Michelle and Hook at how he should go in with back up. He didn’t want to put any more people in danger than he already had, he couldn’t live with himself if Cole or Queen Caroline lost their loved ones because of him.
However he did proclaim if he needed an additional crew member, they would know. His turned around and swiftly left his small home within the woods, riding his horse racing towards the castle sneaking past the guards and stabbing a few knights to do so. A part of him felt like it was too easy this time, his chest tighten racing towards the cells to find Snow.
He only found pieces of fabric from her wedding dress within the cell as he gasp, feeling his heart sadness then release allowing him to breath. He sighed releasing she wasn’t here but her dresses fabric felt thicken than the material he grabbed earlier, a laced coat dust particles that belonged to the a certain type of magic.
His brother’s magic.
He groaned, realizing he had something to do with this. He looked over his shoulder to see incoming guards, swiftly masking a turn escaping Midas castle and returning to the woods gripping onto the frabic of the dress halting for his horse, Maximus, to stop and rest. He climbed down for the horse and kneeled wiping his finger across the fabric of the dress as the black particles rises onto his fingers and into the air.
Charming wasn’t one to use his own magic anymore as he used to, crafting a shadow sword as a replacement as the blade can cut, disappear and reappear to his wish.
But for the circumstances of this mission, he must, with a twist of his wrist a cloud of black appeared from the magic remains of his brother revealing an image to him being a glimpse of his women on the ground of the very dungeon he was trapped in all those years ago as his brother smirked over her.
But the thing was, he knew his brother would not keep her there for long and move Snow somewhere else out of his reach and into the forest. He was smart enough to figure out that his sword to led him to harm his brother as a reward for his crimes, knowing he will find Snow but his brother would want something in return.
“Hello!”
He didn’t flinch once, knowing that voice just as well, turning around he grimaced pinching the bridge of his nose to face Cole. Last he saw of him was on Jeremy’s ship, as Hook gave him the wonderful blue crested ring as promise for their love. Cole stood on a log with a leg crossed over the other with a grinned dress in black as always, but this time with a dark brown coat and the one of many rings on his finger waving.

“What is it that you want?” He asked, titled his head with a old look, couldn’t help but return the grin and rolled his eyes, “I’m kinda busy here.”
Cole grinned and nodded, deciding whether or not to hop off the log as he said, “Oh I know. Busy, busy, busy man! And you don’t have much time to waste.”
“And I am guessing you’re here to help me.”
“Well, you are friends with my favorite Captain and you did help him get my gorgeous new jew, so I believe it’s only fair.”
“What’s your price?”
“Sneak into your brother’s vault and get me a lovely old item that he stole from me.”
“What item?”
“A crested item, a crystal ball that I want to shape into a saber for my collection. The saber allows me to look beyond realms and within this land using blood magic to track it.”
“Who are you tracking?’
“My brother, he left Wonderland not to long along in search of a witchy dragon to slay and he has been blocked out his net for me to find him. God knows my brother isn’t the brightest in the land and as promised, I need to make sure he’s not dead.”
Nicholas nodded knowing Cole isn’t one for plenty of details depending on the person and knows he has beef with his brother beyond his knowledge so he won’t ever question why or what happened between them. But he did question one thing.
“Why are you helping me? Aside from the Hook part.” Charming asked, lifting his sword into place.
Cole just grinned, “Because! You and I both want the same thing, for good things to happen. True love and blah blah blah to win.”
“Hmm.”
“And your princess has grown on me.”
“Snow is..?”
“Yes, yes, yes! Do you want my help or not?”
“I do.”
Within a matter of moments, Charming was given a old tiny hyper crystal that would glow a sharp red when he’s within range of the ball. Cole gave him a light start, pausing the clock then restarting it once Charming reached his old castle.
A shiver went up his spine at returning to the very place he lost his partner and his family turned upside down, there were vines growing up and around the collapsible groups, the carousel he used to play in was damaged to stone and as he entered across the back of the palace where he once used to sneak out of to explore the woods on the backs of horses, the colors that used to bleed with one another..we were sucked out of any brightest light left. The walls used to be a golden brown, turned seemed to be a dull brownish grey, the flowers that belonged to his mother went from daisies to fallen roses.

As he went down the steps to the vaults, slaying away guards within the shadows muffling his shouts with a blade to their necks and others knocking out the knights who tried to capture him. However, two came his way dressed in black masks and leather from head to toe, just as he thought they were gonna murder him one twist their sword and the one follow behind him as the other knock a knight out cold.
He knew this place a little too well, so he knew she wasn’t in the dungeons or any an cell within the castle, she must’ve been moved by now. His brother wasn’t gonna make it that easy for him, just yet. It was all a test of some kind.
Charming lifting his sword ready to knock both of skrulls together when the two knights flipped the face guards to reveal his two friends. Jeremy and Michelle smirked having figured it was only fair to help out with the knights meanwhile Charming collected the item for Cole, Nicholas was about to remark them for being so foolish for coming here but he just winked instead thankful for his friends. He rushed off and into the vault, pulling out the tiny crystal waiting waving it around as he searched for the ball in question.
His footsteps creaked as his flinched around swiftly turning his sword instead the person behind him, the blade fell above his older brother’s cheekbone giving him a mere cut. Alexander hissed then scoffed as he rolled his eyes with his hands behind his back, a part of him was impressed at his quick moves but still pathetic as always as he moved away from the blade.

“Cute.” Alexander remarked in a monotone, using two fingers to pushed the sword downstairs, “Yet, never as good as good me. And I thought with the months—ah no, years away you’ll get better. Guess me not.”
“Pardon me for not perfecting my craft, I was too busy trying to get away from you.” Charming muttered with a glare.
“And yet, you come back rushing to the place where it all began?”
“You took something from me.”
Alexander scoffed and playfully gagged walking around, “And did I take from you this time? You’re pride? You’re little toy? Father’s favorite pendent? I wouldn’t have done if it were to listen to good little brat you were and not disrupt me every day.”
“I was young, I didn’t know any better. I grew to understand you never liked me because in your eyes I was always our parents favorite meanwhile you weren’t. If you nicer, it couldn’t been different!” Charming added, as his flickering to the tiny crystal in hand.
“It wasn’t! You were born and took away everything from me. And every time I tried to have you behave, you would act to embarrass me.”
“No wonder why you’re heart is so dark..now like I was saying, I want my things back.”
Nicholas has grown to understand that his older brother was just selfish, mean and cruel only caring about himself in hope to lighten the mere sight of his true feelings. He knew his brother was alone and always will be, as a child he tried to befriend him plenty of times, show him a picture of kindness but he always in response got the cold shoulder.
He stopped trying to save him at this point, the only person who can make that change was himself, not him. They had to make the decision to do that themselves and overturn that choice.
Alexander noticed he was in his vault searching for something wasn’t labeled his and used a shadow to pushed Charming to to his face as he snarled with a smirk. His younger brother will never learn, to disobey, you get hurt in the process. He knew he was here for his preisous little princess, thanks to King Shaw’s tip before his exile, but he was here for cruel stolen item. Not his item but someone else’s he assumed.
Charming and Alexander were in a position to fight within the vault, as darkness filled the room to the Dark Prince’s command.
Charming closed his eyes wilding his sword, it guided him opposing member turning around to feel Alexander behind him popping and out of the shadows summing a sword at his will to fight his brother. The two of them were at it, not like princes, but training knights ready for battle.
Alexander even used one hand to his blade of swords growing bigger with the commsuing darkness above them, mocking his younger brother and yelled, “Tell me when your tired of missing, brother.”
Charming glared and growling twirling his sword summing his shadows at combat, hoping off treasure chests within the vault yelling, “I only have to hit you once.”
The fight went on for a while, neck and neck, things flying across the room, remarks being thrown to one another and be siblings were even tossed across the floor. In the mist of the fight that led them into a hallway, Charming noticed the tiny crystal bringing a low glow as he smirked. It wasn’t in the vault but in another room. With his confidence returning, just as Alexander was about to tower over him and tossing him out a window, he disappeared within a shadow and used another one to kicked him into a separate place within the castle. The Dark Prince was thrown away into the depth of his castle the dungeons knocked out cold.

Nicholas run down the hall into the room thinking he found to find said room, following the crystal as it grew in color only for his grin to drop. “Oh come on!” He muttered, due to the moment he enter the room he was found within the chambers was the crystal ball, yes, but what he didn’t expect who guarding it.
Once this is all resolved he is gonna need a strong drink…
“My brother doesn’t need a beast to guard his items, when he already is one himself..” Nicholas said to himself, readying his sword, “At least it’s not the trolls again.”
But to his surprise, just as he moved forward to silently attack the dragon, it didn’t appear as fearful but more like calm. Tired even. It whimper, opening their eyes to showcase purple orbs with pools of tears within. It let out a soft growl that grew as he carried himself over to the said beast. Their leg was chained up to a wall that made them look smaller.
The dragon snarls and whimpered some more, showcasing themselves to be larger than life but they—she wasn’t. His eyes widen, seeing she was missing her—Nicholas has slayed dragons before in one go but this was different, she didn’t want to fight him.
He wasn’t gonna fight another if they weren’t going to themselves, he was in the very castle his parents build him in. If his mother was here, she would be hurt to see him do such as thing. Nor did he think himself as a killer either. He never was a murder.
He rushed over using his blade to cut though the chain releasing the dragon as she transformed from dragon into human. Her horns were still there but they were surrounded by long blonde curls, her dragon like scales were now a dark purple long dress, she held a cape close to her body and her paws were a black almost a deep purple slippers.
“Are you alright, miss?” He asked, helping her stand with one hand and the other still grip his shadow sword.
She hesitated but took his hand as she nodded, “I-I think so..”
“What did my brother did to you?”
“It’s a long story..I’m sorry, did you say brother?”
“Heh, yeah, long story..I apologize for almost hurting you.”
“It’s alright..I’m okay, just uh why didn’t you?”
“I couldn’t. You were a prisoner here, not a helper of his. I’m Prince Nicholas..”
“Liane..t-thank you. You can uh, take your thing..”

Nicholas took the item on the table and stuffed it into his satchel, looking over his shoulder he noticed that he couldn’t escape the same way he came. He glanced over at the stain glass windows of the very room as chaotic yet delicate smirk appeared on his lips.
Liane asked, “Uh, what exactly are you g-?”
But she didn’t get a second to finished her sentence, as she grip tightly around his neck as he held onto her waist telling her to brace for impacted. All from Liane could be heard was a sequence of ‘Oh my god!’ repeated over and over again, as Nicholas launched them from the ground flooring through the glass window shatter around them as the two right into landed in the ocean waves surrounding the castle.
The two clawed onto the shore near the woods, Nicholas helped Liane up asking if she’s doing alright as she yelled if he was crazy or just plain dumb. The prince just shrugged and snorted a smile.
“W-we could have died!” Liane whisper yelled, sighing at how soaking wet her dress was.
“But we’re safe and sound from him!” Nicholas replied with smile still on his face.
“We jumped into the water we could hav..”
“We survived that’s what matters.”
“Huh? Wait, no your right. You didn’t plan that, did you?”
“Nope. Call it pure luck and last time I checked my brother won’t after us a while.”
Liane broke into a small smile and thanked him once again for helping her back there saying she can now return home safely, hoping he found her princess. Nicholas smiled telling her to keep hope alive and her prince might have to save her soon enough. The two paired aways afterward.

He arrived still soaking wet to the place where Cole requested to met him. At docks near the huge pirate ships, and as always he found him curled up against a few barrels on the ground comfortably with his man. Nicholas couldn’t help but smile at the two, the way his friend returned from the castle before him with grinned at his dinner.

Jeremy was grinning and laughing trying to hush Cole who was playing with his short blonde hair telling a joke stealing a piece of chicken from his plate.
“Who made this?” Cole said chew the chicken with a snarky smirk.
“Mr. Smee did it.” He replied taking a bite of the bread being presented on the plate.
“Tell the chief he desires a raise!”
“Don’t push my crew, babe. They hear that and they would all want one.”
“Ah pishy caca, love.”
“No he’s right.” Said a voice.
Both men looked up to find Nicholas soaking wet holding up the promised crystal ball but no princess, yet. Jeremy snorted seeing his friend’s face as Cole bit back some laughter of his own, eating some more chicken for himself.
He stole a kiss from his man before standing up taking the crystal ball from Nicholas’s hand nodding with appreciation for the task being complete. Jeremy kept snorting explains that Michelle returned home safe and sound as Nicholas sent him a playful glare.
“I’m guessing your lady is miles away from the castle too? I didn’t see her in there.” Jeremy exclaimed after coming down from his effective snorting.
“Nope. He is hiding her somewhere else and I won’t rest until I find her.”
“Aw my boys in love!”
“Shut up. It’s a test to see how hard am I willing to work for this.”
“I say you worked hard enough. Babe, help him!”
Cole sassed him with a smirked, “I’m getting to it! But i need that.”
Nicholas heart pinged again as over his chest lay his gifted chain and asked, “My chain from Snow?”
“Mhmm that lovely little gift from her mother, that now belongs to you will guide you to her.”
“A location spell? Smart.”
“I know I’m genius.”
Jeremy slapped his arm playfully and chuckled watching Nicholas pass the chain over to him. He asked why his heart felt like it was bruised during the beginning of this mission, Cole was doing the locator spell on the chain as he explained how the heart feels like it’s lost when a loved ones is gone.
Cole knew that well after his father Erik and stepfather Charles broken up years ago when he was a child before getting back together, it felt like their bodies were sometimes in pain because they were apart for so long.
True Love, as he called it. A connection between two people whether they believed it or not, as opposite a pairing may seem, if they are somehow meant to be, fate has its ways to pulling them together.
Once Cole was done, he smiled saying depending on the next favor was, Nicholas might own him by collecting whatever another item was. He rolled his eyes and chuckled lightly telling Jeremy to keep his man under control as the pirate captain just winked in return.
Before Nicholas could go, Cole yelled, “Ah! Wait a minute stupid. You’re gonna find your girl dressed like you went swimming with the fishes?”
With a flick of his wrist Nicholas was dried up with his hair freshly swept back, a white collared shirt with a long elegant leather coat, dark brown pants and boots that fit him perfectly. For added measure, Cole added a nicely tailored hat that seemly fitting his more pirate side. It made him look rather dashing and distinguished from the other men in the crowd.
“Much better.” Cole added as he looked over at his shoulder to see the sun almost laying down to rest and huffed, “Go before your time runs out!”
He thanked both of them before swinging onto his horse riding Maximus across the docks into the woods allowing the chain with the small hoop to guide him through the forest. He could see the sun going down as he approached Max to hurry in which the horse speed riding like the wind.
“Woah boy! What did I feed you today?!” He muttered jokingly.
Max followed his direction going past the trees in vintage and entryway into the lower ends of the valley sliding into the ground path of the woods. His hat almost flew off completely a couple of times messing around his hair a bit. The chain kept glowing brighter and brighter than ever before as they moved through the forest reaching the edge of the plantation then began to slow down as they landed int the exact spot she was placed in.
Nicholas hoped off his horse, patting his head with a soft smile pacing himself over to find a bed in the middle of the woods surrounded by dwarfs. He heard stories around him being great hard working men, he looked over to see it was Snow asleep. Her skin looked paler, her were a blushing pink instead of their usual light red color and her body looked cold despite being dressed in long sleeves.
One of the Dwarfs, Grumpy gave him a once over and raised an eyebrow before noticing that he held a chain similar to the jewelry Snow was wearing.
He gave him a small smile and said, “You better do something or sister is gone forever. At least say goodbye.”
Nicholas smiled softly and walked across placing his hand over Snow’s very own as he leaned over to capture her lips against his. He muttered a small glimpse of hope that she’ll wake up as his heart started to settle into a nice flow. As he did, a small wave that would’ve felt like blast pushed through them and across the landscape of the woods. He pulled away to be met with the sound of gasping coming from the woman he loved dearly.

She opened her eyes as color started to return to her cheeks and looked over to see who woke her up, her lips slowly growing into a smile. Her voice was a little horse as she said, “Y-you found me..”
He smiled softly in return blinked as tears slowly appeared thanking the heavens it worked as he nodded placed a hand on his across her face. He replied, “Did you ever doubt I would?”
“The sleep gave me a pause..truly, I was afraid you wouldn’t come..”
“I came, it took me a while but I made it. I will always find you.”
She smiled chuckling, as he helped her stand up from the bed thanking the Dwarfs for watching over her. Grumpy just winked saying that him and his brother are here to help the good guys just say the word as the prince chuckled in return respecting them.

Snow and Charming walked alongside each other letting Max relax from carrying the weight of things all day, especially after his thick run across the land. Nicholas finally took a breath getting his girl back and foremost by the end of day, wrapping an arm around her shoulder rested his head on top of hers. Snow hummed at his touch as she wrapped both around his middle playing with the layer hair at the back of neck that flipped up, instead of flipping downward.
“Hey no touchy!” He joked nuzzling his head against hers.
“You ruined your hair earlier.” She hummed in response giggling.
“Uh excuse you? I’ll have you know i was racing against time, m’lady! You try running across the woods and trying to look perfect while doing it. It ain’t easy, I’ll tell you that much!”
“Okay, okay you win! Whatever you say, princey. I do have two questions for you.”
“Which are?”
“How did you get here so fast?”
“I had help from Cole. I went on a few trials to get him an item but then he came through with a location spell.”
“Location spell?”
He nodded pulling out the chain that relaxed its glow having done its job eariler, as he explained it led him right to her. She giggled seeing how her mother’s jewelry saved them after all.
Nicholas joked as he moved away for a moment, “You know I’ll have to meet your mother after this to thank her.”
“Thank her? For that little thing?” She asked with a teasing tone.
“Yes ma’am. You’re mama will be having a son in law real soon.”
“She’ll have a field day, never wanting us to leave hearing—wait, did you say son in law?”
She didn’t have a moment to finish her sentence as he grinned widely enough removing the hoop off the chain. She was about to joke about something than decide to let him figure it out himself.
He tried to kneeled down properly but the pants Cole gave him were a little too tight, for his liking and he usually doesn’t mind tight fitted leather as he decided to stand instead.
The noise and incoming jokes he made resulted in Snow to laugh looking away snorting as he told her to be quiet he was trying to be romantic here.
“Shut up, you’re ruining my moment!” He remarked breaking into laughter himself biting his bottom lip.
“Your moment?” She exclaimed softly giggling trying to stop herself from falling into more laughter.
“You done?”
“Mhm hmm.”
“Good. As i was trying to say, Amara Snow, will you marry me?”
She made a face as if she’s thinking about her answer and playfully said, “Hmm i don’t know.”
His face playfully dropped giving her a look that said ‘seriously women?’ As he smirked and added, “May I also remind you that I jumped into a freezing cold ocean today? I think my butt cheeks were chattering on my way to the docks.”
“You jumped into the ocean?”
“Yes ma’am, but it was for a stupidly good reason.”
“In that case, yes.”
“A ‘yes’ as in you’ll marry me or ‘yes’ as in you will give me well deserved massage after risking ass today?”
“Yes to both!”
“Good answer.”
“Shut up.”
She rolled her eyes chuckling realizing she got work to do tonight after his glorious save as he ran the hoop nicely onto her finger then bringing a couple of kiss onto her face. She pressed a few of kisses wanting to hear all about his day and where they were heading next.

But before Snow can say another word, he lift her into his arms as she wrapped her arms sound his neck as Nicholas requested he take them to their home within the forest where he would tell her everything that happened. He leaned forward to press another small yet warm kiss onto her face as she closed the space between them with a smile asking for him to lead the way.

The two made their way to the small house within their own hundred acres woods, finally after all the hassle back in each other’s arm once and for good. Nicholas released Max to go to stretch his legs and rest before dinner, as he followed Snow up the steps to find a note stuck on the door.
She plucked it gently off the door and opened it to read an invitation for Princess Michelle’s ball in 3 weeks, due time to prepare for the festival of riches, everyone in the land was to be invited.
Nicholas smirked, “Three nights, free drinks and food to die for.”
“I guess we’re going to a ball.” She replied returning the smirk.
The two chuckled and entered their home, locking the door behind them as they lit the fireplace to flop onto the couch in glee. Nicholas sat on the couch as dinner was being cooked on the stove as Snow sat behind him to rub whatever knots that landed in between his shoulders blades. To say he was satisfied was an understatement.
He hummed and softly grinned, “If this is the treatment I get, I should risk my ass more often.”
“Shut up, charming.” She replied jokingly holing back her giggled.
He looked over his shoulder for a split second and smirked saying, “Hush, you’ll ruin the moment.”
“I can’t with you sometimes.” She added rolled her eyes returning the same smirk.
The future spouses stayed cuddling in the comfort of the living room til dawn, for as long as they were together all was fine in the world.

Once Upon a Time, In a Land Far Away...
(So remember when I said I wouldn’t make an OUAT au? I was a liar. However, I am ending this fic after the first season or perhaps season two because ya girl can’t be writing all that. TW SMALL FIGHT SCENE IN THE BEGINNING ILL MAKE THE TW OBVIOUS!
READ THE NEW NAMES BECAUSE YOU WILL BE VERY CONFUSED IF YOU SKIP THIS! Raya’s Storybrooke name is Rose, Namaari’s is Natasha, Virana’s is Vanessa, Benja’s is just Ben, Sisu’s is Suki, Boun’s is Brian, Noi’s is Naomi, and Tong’s is Thomas. Please enjoy!)
“What the hell happened? I thought you managed to get lost or something,” Namaari hissed the second Raya came back into the room.
“It’s so much worse than we were hoping. Snow went into labor before they could finish the portal. The baby is being sent to this other world by herself,” Raya told her in a frenzied manner.
“Oh my god,” Namaari whispered, absolutely horrified.
“I just, I need to sit down,” Raya stated warily as she all but collapsed on the couch near the door.
Namaari shot up from the bed and rushed to Raya’s side. Just like she always does. Raya can always count on her.
“What does this mean?” Namaari asked worriedly.
“It means that Emma’s going to need to find a way to break the curse all on her own,” Raya sighed as she buried her face in her hands.
Namaari wrapped her arms around Raya and pulled her close. Immediately, Raya returned the embrace and squeezed tightly. 
The Heart woman never wants to let go of her. Namaari. Her wife. But now she doesn’t have a choice.
When the Evil Queen threatened Snow White and Prince Charming on their wedding day, everyone was on edge. The Evil Queen does many things, but make empty threats are not one of them.
Snow knew the only way to guarantee the safety of the kingdom and her unborn child was to consult with Rumplestiltskin. Then they discovered that Snow White and Prince David’s daughter would be some magical curse breaker for them all. The original goal was to put Snow in the tree trunk so that she could raise the little princess curse free due, to the fact that there’s only enough magic to send one person. They just couldn’t make the tree fast enough. 
“I can’t believe this. I run from Druun for six years, and now it’s all ruined because some bitch who’s in an eternal battle with her step daughter wants to even the score,” Raya spat.
She had to be angry. If she wasn’t enveloped in rage, she’d breakdown in tears, which wasn’t very appealing at the moment.
“Look, we’ve been through a hell of a lot in our lifetime, and we will get through this too,” Namaari assured her.
“I don’t understand how you could possibly be so confident about that. We’re putting our hopes, our lives, in the tiny hands of a baby that hasn’t even been alive for a full day. That’s too much of a burden for anyone to bear,” Raya huffed. She speaks from personal experience, after all. 
“I know it is, but Rumplestiltskin already prophesied this all from the beginning. Which means that as long as Emma can escape, we've all got a chance," Namaari assured her.
Raya sighed and took a glance at the window. She has no idea where this curse is going to take them. Nobody does. They're at an utter disadvantage. The most information Raya's gotten from it is that everyone's memory is going to be wiped.
“I’m sorry I’m being so negative about this. You’re going to be cursed too, I should at least be attempting to comfort you,” Raya sighed, feeling so utterly defeated. “I just have no idea how we can make it past this.”
“Hey, you’re the most hopeful woman I’ve ever met. I mean, you hoped for six years that a dragon could bring your father back, and you were right. You hoped for all of a Kumandra. I can hope for us both right now. That’s what marriage is. Helping each other when the other is struggling,” Namaari told her. 
Toi, Raya is so in love. She didn’t know it was possible to feel so much adoration for one person until Namaari. The Heart princess simply gave her wife a kiss. One that Namaari immediately returned.
“I’m going to miss this. Something tells me that in this cursed land, we won’t be newly weds,” Raya sighed, pulling Namaari in for a hug.
“You might be right about our marital status, but I’ll still be in love with you. I always have been, and I always will be. There are some things not even magic can change,” the Fang princess said in a soft, comforting voice. 
“Yeah? Well if someone as lame as you can manage to love me in a cursed land, I bet I can love you so much more. Because, you know, I’m a lot cooler than you are,” Raya mumbled, trying not to cry her eyes out. 
“As if. I’ll love you so much in this cursed land, you’ll be embarrassed at how lacking you were when the curse gets lifted,” she heard Namaari huff out.
“You know what? If you can somehow manage to get Rumplestiltskin off my back in the cursed land, I just might agree,” Raya snorted.
“Please. That guy’s like three feet tall. I can totally get him to back off from you in the new world. If I have to keep Rumplestiltskin away, then you have to help me deal with my mother. I bet she’s going to be especially difficult in the cursed land,” Namaari scoffed. 
“I think we have ourselves a deal, binturi,” Raya giggled.
At that moment, David rushed into the room and quickly closed the door behind her. He was holding Emma in one arm and his sword in the other.
"My god, what the hell's happening out there?" Raya blurted as she and Namaari both stood up from the couch.
"The queen's guards. They infiltrated the castle. They're...there's so much more than just me. I don't know how I'll get past them all," the prince rambled while trying to catch his breathe.
"In and out David, in and out. Look, we've got your back. Raya and I will have gladly go out there to offer some backup," Namaari assured him.
"I can't ask you to do that," David said, trying to shoot the idea down.
"Hey, your fate isn't the only one that depends on getting her to this other world before the curse does. Besides, it's been a while since I've had a good fight," Raya smirked, trying to not panic at whatever was beyond those two doors.
"Hey, we sparred four days ago," Namaari reminded her with a frown.
"I know what I said," Raya grinned, feeling her nerves ease little bit more. It's like just looking at her wife is good for her health.
"Okay, less flirting, more preparing for battle," David reminded them.
"That's fair," Raya conceded as she grabbed her sword.
Namaari did the same. They never did go anywhere without a sword. That probably says something about themselves.
"Alright. We're good," Namaari nodded.
"Pause. I want a kiss for good luck," Raya told her.
Though no one was willing to say it outloud, they all knew that it was very possible this could be the last time any of them see each other. That's probably why David had no objection when Namaari used her free hand to cradle Raya's face and give her a deep kiss. Raya decided she liked that kiss so much that there was no way it'd be their last.
"I love you," Raya smiled as her wife pulled away.
"I love you too," Namaari whispered fondly.
Then a loud crash resounded from the outside, causing the trio to face the door with a deathly grip on their swords. When they decided no one would be breaking in, Raya and Namaari stepped out in front of David to take on whatever battle awaited them.
There were six guards at the end of the hall. They didn't look like they had a clue where they were going. Raya's pretty damn sure she could take these guys, especially with her badass wife beside her.
"Go ahead David, we'll hold them off," Namaari told him.
"Dep la, I was going to say that! Can you read my mind?" Raya grinned.
"I just know you too well, my love," Namaari responded with a small smile of her own.
"Thank you, I'm eternally in debt to the both of you. And for god's sake, focus on the fight instead of flirting!" the prince exclaimed before rushing off to send Emma into the wardrobe.
"Tell Emma Auntie Raya and Auntie Namaari love her!" Raya yelled as David sprinted away.
(TW WARNING START)
Okay, the Queen's armed forces were now right in front of them. No biggie. The first guy that came up to her was a cinch to beat. A solid kick in the chest made him slam against the wall and knock the guy out cold. Poor bastard must have been new.
Namaari was dealing with her own trio of guards as the remaining two ganged up on the Heart woman. They were fast, but clumsy. One guard managed to nick Raya's eyebrow and nose bridge. While it wasn't going to do any lasting damage, it'd certainly leave a mark. The force of their hits meeting air kept them off balance enough to give Raya a chance to swipe back.
She checked the corner of her eye to make sure Namaar was doing well and of course, she's beating their asses. After a couple good stabs through skin, Namaari knocked the other three off thier feet.
Raya had managed to stab the last guy in the leg when his guard was down. Hah. These guys are really bad fighters. Then she heard Namaari groan.
"Hey, do you think that," Namaari began, before she lunged herself at Raya.
A Queen's guard jumped out of the shadows and came hurtling to Raya when her back was turned. Namaari was able to interfere, but the guard just moved the blade the side and sliced Namaari's arm clean off. Raya's wife collapsed to the floor, crying from pure agony.
With absolutely zero hesitation, Raya raised her sword and pummeled it straight through the guard's heart. He was dead before he hit the floor.
Then left nothing for Raya to focus on except for her wife. She quickly took off her waist band and firmly tied it around the edge of the spot where the arm was cut off to prevent further blood loss. She's honestly not sure how she did it with her tears blurring her vision.
Once the band was tight enough, Raya moved Namaari so that her head was resting on Raya's lap. The screaming had stopped, there was only a pained whimper was coming from her now.
(TW WARNING STOP)
"Hey, hey, hey, look at me. Namaari, you have to stay awake, do you understand me? If I have to live through this stupid curse, then so do you!" Raya sobbed.
This can't be happened. They've been married for what, a month? It didn't matter that there was a curse or everyone would be miserable, Raya wanted to be cursed and miserable with Namaari. For the rest of their lives. One month is not enough.
"You're...so bossy. Even now," Namaari mustered out.
Raya couldn't hold back the extra tears seeing Namaari in so much pain from such a simple sentence. She's trying so hard to stay awake.
"Thanks for the defense back there. That guy totally would have sliced right through my heart if you hadn't done anything," Raya whispered, tears still stubbornly streaming down her face.
"I know. I'd rather lose an arm than lose you," Namaari said.
"I wish you didn't have to lose one at all," Raya told her honestly.
"Will you still love me even if I only have one arm?" Namaari blurted.
God, how stupid is this woman?
"That may have been the most ridiculous shit you've ever said in your entire life, Namaari. Of course I'll love you without the arm. Besides, you've seen what dragon magic can do with those metal arms. Once this curse business is settled, you can get a magical metal arm and you're gonna look so badass," Raya choked out with a small smile on her lips.
"You think I'd look hot with a metal arm?" Namaari grinned.
Even though the reason why is so painfully stupid, Raya's just happy to see that smile.
"Duh. I think you'd look hot with anything. Do you think I'll look hot with the eyebrow and nose scar? The wounds are kind of deep," Raya sniffled.
"You're always hot. The scars will add to it. I wanna kiss them when they're healed," Namaari mumbled, seeming to drift off.
"Aye! Stay with me, One Armed Wonder!" Raya snapped.
"Did you just call me One Armed Wonder?" Namaari mumbled incredulously.
"Too soon?" Raya sheepishly asked.
"I want that engraved on my metal arm," Namaari decided with a giggle.
Raya laughed a bit too. It's so hard to laugh knowing that the love of her life is in so much pain and there's nothing she can do about it.
The ground began to shake. Raya looked out the window to see the black and green fog slowly take over the whole kingdom.
"It's coming," was all Raya managed to say.
"Kiss me," Namaari said.
And how can Raya say no to that?
Raya leaned down and pressed a soft but firm kiss on Namaari's lips. She's feels so safe in the kiss. Even when the world is ending. No one's ever made Raya feel the way Namaari does. No one else ever will.
Raya gently broke away and gasped as the shaking grew more intense. Raya leaned over Namaari in order to protect her body from any more potential injury.
"I love you," Raya yelled as the fog approached.
"Love...," Namaari trailed off.
She was way too weak. It was a miracle the Fang warrior lasted this long. But that's okay, Raya doesn't need her to say it out load to know she means it.
All she could do was hold her wife tightly as they were swept into a land where they were never married in the first place.

(27 years later)
Roseline Heart woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. Literally. There’s a spot on the mattress that has the spring sticking out because of how old it is and it ended up cutting Rose’s cheek. Now there’s a thin trail of blood coming from her face. Fantastic.
Groggily, Rose helplessly grabbed around for her glasses and shuffled to the bathroom. She’s pretty sure this is where the bandaids are. After actually putting on the glasses, success was Rose’s as she managed to get her hands the hello kitty band aid box. After cleaning up the cut as best as she could, she put her bright pink band aid on and headed out to the kitchen.
“Morning Sunshine! How’s-” Suki began before noticing bright ass bandaid on Rose’s face. “Okay, seriously, you gotta replace that mattress. Someone’s gonna call the sheriff on me for domestic violence if you keep this up!”
“Someone’s dramatic. I just forgot to put a thick pillow over it like usual. No big deal,” Rose said with a dismissive flick of the wrist.
“It feels like you never remember the pillow. Besides, you've already got a couple scars on your face. No reason to add on another,” Suki huffs while handing her an apple.
“Aye, don’t sass the hand that’s gonna be dying your hair blue tonight,” Rose warned. 
Suki simply stuck her tongue out at her and began rummaging through the cabinets to find some of her cereal. 
Suddenly a loud, obnoxious knocking at their door caused both girls to groan.
“You get the door, I’ll get the checkbook,” Rose said in defeat.
“You got it, bestie,” Suki huffed while headed to the door. 
Rose heard the door open as Suki made idle chit chat with their intrud- guest. Beloved landlord. She found the checkbook resting on her living room couch. Rose grabbed a pen, wrote out her check, and tore it off the booklet. 
“Mr. Gold. What a joy it is to see your wrinkly face so early in the morning,” Rose deadpanned.
“You’ve always known how to charm a man, haven’t you?” Gold mocked.
“Considering the fact that I’m a lesbian, I really hope not,” Rose grumbled while handing him the check. 
Mr. Gold examined it, front and back, before deciding it was sufficient.
“Well, everything seems to be in order. As per usual,” Mr. Gold spat. “I’ll leave you girls to your morning, then. Ms. Datu, I’ll be expecting your half of the rent on the first,” Mr Gold told her.
“And that is when you will receive, sir,” Suki said with an uncomfortable polite smile.
“Wonderful. I’ll be off then. Have an excellent day, Dearie,” Mr. Gold smirked. 
With that, he walked right of their apartment without bothering to close the door. Rose scowled and slammed the door shut. God, she wanted to take that cane from his hand and bash his face in with it. 
Will Rose ever understand what Gold’s problem is with her? No. No she will not. Rose just doesn’t get it! She’s an excellent tenant. She’s never been late for a payment. Not once. Hell, sometimes she gives Sisu extra cash in case she falls short with her rent money.
Yet somehow, Mr. Gold is never satisfied with her stellar reputation. In fact, he seems to be quite irritated whenever Rose manages to deliver the rent. Which is every time he asks for it. In simpler words, Mr. Gold is always pissed at Rose and there is nothing she can do about it. Rose wins none and loses all.
It used to make woman want to rip her hair out from pure frustration. Here she is, always giving rent when she needs to and she smells like flowers all the time! What more could a landlord want?! 
It wouldn’t be such an issue if he treated everyone else like this. But he doesn’t. Of course, just like any other landlord, he expects his tenants to pay rent on time and he tends to be a no nonsense kind of guy. But Mr. Gold’s willing to negotiate with others. He’s fine with coming to a compromise of some sort. But if Rose were to have issues?
She’d be on the streets faster than you can say ‘what a jackass’.
It’s not like there’s anything Rose can do about it, either. The only person that could match up to Mr. Gold in the realm of power in this town is Regina Mills, the mayor. Unfortunately, Mr. Gold has some sort of in with Mayor Mills, so Rose is totally screwed. 
But, well, Rose has accepted her status as Gold Enemy Number One. Nothing she can do about it now.
“God, I hate that guy. Why the hell can’t he just lay off your back?” Suki scowled. 
“Question of the century, truly. Think you can pick up some fruit while after work? Seems like we’re running low,” Rose asked her roommate.
“Got it. You better get dressed girl, aren’t you opening the store today?” Suki asked.
“Yeah, I need to move it,” Rose sighed while rushing into her room to get ready. 
Rose hastily put on a green long sleeve shirt and blue jeans that were way too big for her, held up by a dark brown belt. She flew in and out of the bathroom in record time. Once she grabbed her satchel like bag, she was ready for work. 
“Have fun, don’t hurt yourself!” Suki yelled as Rose put on her beat up sneakers. 
“If anyone’s gonna hurt themselves today, it’s you. See you later!” Rose yelled as she exited the apartment. 
Speed walking out of the building, Rose was so lost in her own world that she almost didn’t comprehend the fact that she nearly torpedoed into Mary Margaret. 
“Crap, sorry! I had a late start today,” Rose apologetically stated.
“Oh it’s no problem, Rose. You know, I was actually hoping I would run into you today. I’ll be super quick, I promise,” Mary Margaret said. 
“Yeah, for sure. What’s up?” Rose asked.
“Would you be able to tutor a kid in my class? His name is Henry, same age as Naomi, and he’s a really great kid. He’s just going through a bit of a hard time. He’s also a very quick study, the only reason why his grades have been slipping is because he lacks focus. His mother insisted on him getting a tutor and she has every intention of paying you. I only ask because of how great you are with Naomi and how much her grades improved after your tutoring,” Mary Margaret pleaded.
Huh. Rose really can't remember much of Namoi's progress. Well, Mary Margaret is her friend and a little extra cash couldn’t hurt. Besides, if she can help a kid out what’s the harm?
“That can work. I’m free after 4:30 on Mondays and Wednesdays, does that work out?” Rose asked. 
“Oh that’ll be perfect! I can not thank you enough! Think it can start today?” Mary Margaret asked with hopeful eyes.
Rose frowned and checked her phone to come to the discovery that today is, in fact, Wednesday. Shit, all the days blend together.
“I can do that, I just need to text Suki that I’ll be home late,” Rose responded. 
“You are seriously saving my life, thank you. Okay, meet me at Granny’s Diner at about 4:45 so that you two can get started,” Mary Margaret informed her.
“Granny’s at 4:45, on it. Alright, I gotta scatter before Moe has my head. See you later, Mary!” Rose yelled as she began a light jog to her car.
“Bye Rose! Thanks again!” Mary Margaret yelled.
Rose smiled and waved as she continued her jogging pace. The moment she got into her car, the pedal was to metal. Though she may have broke a couple speeding laws, Rose made it to work a whole two minutes early. 
Once she hopped out of her car that should have been thrown the in the dump years ago, Rose opened the door to her beloved place of work. 
Game of Thorns is her happy place. Surrounded by the soothing aromas of tulips and lilies, arranging the flowers to compliment each, and just staring at all the plants gives Rose a sense of peace. Besides, since the owner Moe French hates Mr. Gold, the old snake can’t set foot in this place. Here, Rose has solace. 
Mostly.
There is, of course, the fact that Natasha Fang is one of the shop’s biggest customers. 
The name Natasha is very fitting. Similarly to a gnat, Natasha does everything in her power to be as big of a nuisance to Rose as possible. The name quite literally speaks for itself.
Unfortunately, that would be very bad for business. The shop could just get rid of every single customer except for Natasha and they would still be kept afloat. She always orders in bulk and tips well, which is the only good thing Rose can say about her. 
Natasha is just so.....awful! Rose will never forgive how that woman betrayed her. Natasha and her stupid undercut can take a long walk off a short pier. 
“Rose, how are you on this fine morning?” Moe French asked as he walked through the door. That’s one way to snap Rose out of her thoughts.
“Morning Moe. I’m okay. I got my daily dose of Gold today, which was super fun for me,” Rose huffed as she set up the register.
“Ugh, that old bastard has no business harassing you! So what if he’s your landlord? He still has a job to treat his tenants with basic respect!” Moe rambled as he began to reorganize the flowers. 
“You are preaching to the choir, my friend,” Rose sighed. 
The two worked quietly together in order to set up the space for opening. Only a couple of customers came in the shop before Rose saw an unnecessarily flashy sports car parked right in front of the shop.
“The gnat is flying in!” Moe hissed when he also noticed this specific car.
Rose quickly retreated to the back room. It’s their fun little code word for saying that Natasha, the worst person ever, was entering the shop. Moe and the rest of Rose’s coworkers all understood the complicated dynamic between the two girls. Said dynamic being Natasha tries aggravating Rose at every possible opportunity while Rose does everything in her power to avoid her.
Rose is very grateful that her colleagues had her back and were willing to talk to Natasha instead. Does Rose realize that it's petty and childish to run from her problem? Yeah. But it works and gives Rose a better peace of mind.
"Mr. French, good to see you today," Rose heard Natasha say as she walked into the shop.
"Ms. Fang! And you as well. What can I do for you?" her boss asked.
"I'll need the usual, please. Carnations instead of peonies this time, though. One of our clients is obsessed with peonies so I'm trying to play to my audience. If you guys can help deliver them this Friday, that would be great," Natasha informed him. (Probably with her stupid fake smile.)
"Of course we can! Come on, I'll ring you up!" Moe excitedly stated as the footsteps got closer.
Ugh, Rose wishes Moe could be as anti Natasha as he was anti Gold. The girl does drop a lot of cash for this store at his core, Moe French is a business man. Rose knew this business would not be half as good without Natasha's participation. Doesn't mean she had to like it, though.
"Thank you for your business!" Moe said. Rose could practically hear the smile in his voice.
"Of course, Mr. French. I'll see you on Friday, Heart," Natasha said with way too much glee.
Though no one could see it, Rose scowled. She worked full time. When the shop is open, Rose is working. Of course Natasha knows that.
The young florist waited until she heard the door close before reentering the main part of the shop.
"I wanna punch her in her stupid face," Rose blatantly stated when she excited the room.
"All she'd need to is grab you with her prosthetic arm and it'd be over for you," Moe reminded her.
"Well I would have made the experience very stressful for her," Rose grumbled as she got back to work.
"I'm sure you would have, Rose," Moe nodded.
Rose internally groaned and mentally prepared herself for this Friday. Even it's only two days away, she needs all the help she can get. Rose is positive she doesn't work at the only flower shop in the world, so why can't Natasha go to literally any other?
It doesn't even matter. Rose is just going to do what she always does. Talk to Thomas exclusively, hide behind the flowers whenever Natasha's in eyesight, and teleport out there before any interaction can occur. It's in everyone's best interest.
The day droned on as usual. Moe decided to close up shop today, so Rose was able to get to Granny's Diner a tad earlier than expected. She saw Mary Margaret already at the diner, which was very convenient.
Rose walked up to the table where she was sitting and saw the kid also sitting with Mary Margaret. Huh, so the whole gang is here.
She was about to introduce herself when she caught sight of the woman sitting next to Henry. Can anyone explain why the ever loving fuck the mayor is sitting next to this little boy?
Rose gave the teacher a look and jutted her head to the side which is the nonverbal cue of 'get the hell over here right now'.
Mary Margaret, being used to Rose, knew what she was getting at walked over to greet her.
“Mary,” Rose said in an eerily calm tone.
“Yes, Rose?” Mary Margaret asked in a meek voice.
“Please do not tell me that Henry’s last name is Mills,” Rose hissed.
“Look, I’m sorry I wasn’t honest before, but he really needs the help and I was worried you’d judge him before meeting him!” the teacher exclaimed.
“I’m not judging him, I’m judging whether or not I’ll be able to even live in Storybrooke!” Rose snapped. “I can not afford to make this kid upset, Mary. I’ve already got Gold on my back for, I don’t know, breathing! If I manage to get on Mayor Mills’ bad side, I will quite literally have no choice but to leave town!”
“Rose, please, he’s not that kind of kid. Besides, one of the things he’s been struggling with is the relationship with his mother. Just give it a shot. One day trial. If you really think you can’t do it, then fine. But please, just try,” Mary Margaret begged.
Rose sighed at the kid that seemed absolutely miserable sitting next to his own mother. Just looking at him, Rose does feel bad for the little guy. And it’s not like Rose has anything better to do on a Wednesday afternoon...
“Fine. One day,” Rose agreed. 
“You are a god send! Okay, get ready to meet the family!” Mary Margaret whispered as she tugged on Rose’s arm. “Mayor Mills! Henry! Here’s this fantastic tutor I was telling you guys about.”
Madame Mayor looked Rose up and down, examining her like she’s trying to decide whether she’s worthy of being in her and her son’s presence. 
“Regina Mills. This is my son, Henry. Thank you for taking time out of your day to help him,” the mayor said in a drawled sort of voice. Then, Mayor Mills stuck her hand out to shake. 
“Roseline Heart. Everyone calls me Rose. It’s a pleasure to make both of your acquaintances,” Rose said with a polite smile. 
Rose then stuck her own arm out to shake. When she made contact with the mayor’s hand, Rose felt a vice like grip in the handshake. But she would not be the one to back down. As previously stated, she really can’t afford to. 
“Firm handshake. Wonderful,” the mayor said as she let go with smile. 
Rose isn’t sure exactly what kind of smile the mayor’s flashing, but she knows for a fact it’s not a genuine one. 
“Well, with that I will be off. The job of Mayor never stops. Behave Henry. I love you. And for heaven’s sake, actually pay attention to what she says please,” the Mayor told her son. 
After planting a quick kiss on her son’s forehead, the mayor was off. Probably to make an innocent man cry. 
Rose stared at Henry. Henry stared right back. 
“So. You wanna play go fish and every time you lose, we have to actually focus on your school work?”
At the prospect of a game, the boy’s eyes lit up with excitement. 
“Uh, yeah!” he grinned as Rose brought out a deck of cards to shuffle.
It may seem stupid, but it works. Rose challenges Naomi to a battle of go fish all the time when she needs to get work done. The ability to make homework fun tends to make kids more inclined to comply. 
Rose decided that she likes Henry after his mother picked him up. Mary Maragaret’s probably right. Just a good kid with a rough relationship with his mom, likely due to her job. 
There’s just one more stop to Rose’s journey before heading home.
Rose took slow steps to Storybrooke’s general hospital where she briefly passed by Dr. Whale. After a quick greeting to the physician, she entered the hallway where the patients reside.
Calmly, Rose sat at the chair right at her father’s bedside. Without saying a word, Rose held his hand stared at his expressionless face.
God, what she wouldn’t give for just one expression to overcome her father’s face. Rose’s father has been comatose for who even knows how long. Dr. Whale insists there’s hope, but that may just be his way of sustaining his paycheck. 
She wants her father back. More than anything, Rose wants her father to open his eyes. 
But just like every single day before, Ben Heart does not open his eyes. He lays on the bed, still as a statue as he always does. Nothing has changed.
Rose mustered up the courage to tell her father about her day because maybe, just maybe, he’s listening. Once there was nothing more to say, she got up to drive back home.
As she left her father’s room, she looked to the side and saw yet another face that has yet to move. John Doe, he’s been in a comatose state for about as long as her father as, and no one’s ever claimed him. Talk about a bad break. 
Rose figured it’d be best to leave before she gets too wrapped up in all the depressing thoughts. She managed to get home in one piece where Suki is waiting for her.
“Hey bestie! How’s your day?” Suki asked.
“The Henry kid is nice. I’ll continue tutoring him. Other than that, you know how my day went. Same as every other day.”
************************
(one year later)
Rose was scrolling through instagram on her phone, waiting for Henry to show up at Granny’s like usual. The kid was running late, which really isn’t like him. Rose contemplated calling him before the young boy burst through the doors.
“Hey Rose!” Henry exclaimed, practically vibrating with excitement.
Rose had to say, she’s surprised. She’s never seen Henry so....happy? Vibrant? Not utterly depressed?
“Hi Henry! What’s got you looking so positively gleeful after a long day of school?” Rose smiled.
“I’m not sure you can handle it,” Henry shrugged.
“Uh, I absolutely can,” Rose interjected. 
“Whatever you say. Just know I won’t be offended when you won’t believe a word I say,” Henry sighed.
With that, the little nine year old boy plopped a thick leather book on the table. It was definitely old and had beautiful golden lettering with the words ‘once upon a time’ written on it.
“Oooo, fairytales? I loved this stuff as a kid. What about this is unbelievable?” Rose asked.
“I know this going to be a lot to digest and like I said, you won’t have to believe me. Have you ever wondered why the clock never moves? Why you can’t seem to remember just about anything from their past? Why no one ever leaves this town?” Henry inquired mysteriously. 
“Uh, one is that your mother never hires anyone to fix the clock, two is just an age issue, and three is because we’re all too lazy or like this town,” Rose explained.
“All of your answers are incorrect! It’s actually because this whole town is cursed!” the young boy whispered.
Rose blinked once. Twice. Three times.
“Okay, I realize I’m not exactly in the height of my life right now, but I wouldn’t say I’m cursed,” Rose laughed.
“It’s not just you, it’s everyone in this town! They’re all characters in this book. You all just can’t remember anything and time doesn’t move,” Henry explained.
Now Rose wasn’t entirely sure to handle this. What Henry was saying is clearly some fantasy to cope with whatever issues he’s dealing with at home. 
“Look, Henry,” Rose began. 
“Just wait. Let me ask you something. Do you remember why exactly you hate Natasha? Do you remember who gave you that dragon pendant? Or the ring on your right hand? Can you remember how you met Suki? Or Ms. Blanchard?” Henry asked, quickly following one question after another.
“Well, Natasha betrayed me. When were kids. Yeah we were young, but she clearly lacks remorse,” Rose said.
Though she didn’t want to admit it, Rose only addressed the first question because it was the only question where she was certain of her answer.
“But what actually happened? What did Natasha do to betray you?” Henry pressed.
Now Rose had to admit, the details are.....fuzzy. Rose can say beyond the shadow of a doubt that Natasha is a traitorous snake that should be avoided at all costs.
But honestly? She doesn’t remember exactly what occurred during this awful betrayal. The person who gave her the ring and pendant were important to Rose. She’s kind of sure of that. Rose is also pretty sure whoever gifted her those items were from the same person. However, Rose isn't entirely sure who this person is. She thinks they were gifts from a relative.
The gold dragon pendant with a bright blue gem in the middle went matched well with gold band of the ring that also has a bright blue circular gem in the center. Little diamonds run along the band making it the most beautiful and valuable thing Rose owns.
“I have a terrible memory, Henry. Anyone that knows me can attest to that. So what if I can’t remember the exact bits of what Natasha did? Or who gave me jewelry? Or how I met my friends? Having the memory of a goldfish don’t mean there’s a curse,” Rose tried to remind him.
“I get why you don’t believe me. After all, you got wronged by a lot of people which made you very cautious and untrusting,” Henry sighed, looking incredibly disappointed.
Rose frowned at seeing the boy so dejected. She tried to think of a way to cheer him up without lying and saying she believed him.
“If you’re so intent on the idea everyone in this town is a story book character, who am I?” Rose asked just to humor him.
At this, Henry’s eyes lightened up. He opened the book and flipped to a page in big, fancy letters that read out to be ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’. 
“This is your story. You’re Raya, untrusting heroine that has to learn to have faith in order to get her happy ending. In the book, after Namaari betrays you, you have to find the almighty dragon Sisu in order to return everyone from stone. Then Namaari proves herself by risking her life to save you and everyone else in Kumandra. After that, you two spent a lot of time together reuniting the five lands and eventually you two fall in love and get married! You were only married for a few weeks before the curse hit,” Henry informed her.
“Huh. Well, at least my story book life has a happily ever after before this supposed curse,” Rose huffed. “Wait, so who do you think Suki is? And Mary Margaret? Oh, you have to tell me who you think your mom is!”
“Suki is Sisu, the dragon that helped you save the world. Mary Margaret’s Snow White and my mom, well...,” Henry sighed, clearly hesitant to speak. “She’s the Evil Queen.”
Well this theory is most certainly going to drive an even bigger wedge between Henry and his mom than before. Though Rose has to admit, she finds the concept of Suki being a dragon very amusing.
“Wow. That...is a lot of information you dropped on me,” was all Rose could say after that.
“Yeah, I know,” Henry nodded. 
“Alright, I’m still not quite convinced that everyone in this town is a cursed fairytale character and you’re fine with that. So I just have one last question for you,” Rose told him.
“Lay it on me,” Henry nodded.
“Who’s my wife? You know, the girl that’s really Namaari but got cursed and is now not my wife. According to you, because I am doubtful,” Rose grinned.
“You’re not gonna like my answer,” Henry admitted sheepishly.
“Oh no. Who is it?” Rose asked, weirdly afraid of who he was going to say. 
“It’s Natasha Fang. She’s your wife before the curse,” Henry informed her. 
“I want a new one,” Rose demanded. 
“What,” Henry deadpanned. 
“I said I want a new one. Natasha Fang can’t to be my wife, she sucks! So pick a different one,” Rose told him. 
“I can’t just pick a different one, it’s who you married! You chose Natasha! She chose you! It already happened, there’s no take backsies!” Henry glared.
“Um, excuse you, if you get to tell me my entire life is one big curse, then I get to have a better wife! What about that girl who works at the electric company? She’s cute and she always gives me a discount whenever she needs to fix up my apartment! Make her my wife instead,” Rose whined childishly.
“That’s not- you know what? There’s no point in arguing with you. If there’s any hope of saving you and everyone else in this town, I need cold hard proof,” Henry sighed. 
“.............................are you sure cute electrician girl can’t be my wife?”
“Yes, Rose. I am sure. Cute electrician girl is not and will never be your wife. Deal with it.”
“............................rude.”

Just wondering... have you ever thought of what would have happened if the Evil Queen was never able to find Snow White and thus was alive to raise Eva?
Would Snow White try to find a way to get her sister in order to keep her safe in case the Queen tries to kill her as well?
Would Eva be raised to care about being the fairest, just like her mom or would she just want to be the most powerful at doing magic?
Would the Queen harm her biological daughter if Eva was prettier?
Would Eva end up good?
Ahhh an interesting question! (Also sorry it took so long to answer :s )
Tbh I think that what would most likely happen is that the Queen would ignore Eva overall, treating her better then Snow as she's her biological daughter which tied her to the throne (and enabled her to access Andalasia's natural magic in my DisneyVerse) and just planning on using her as a useful political bargaining chip. She might teach her a tiny bit of magic but she has no interest in having an sort of rival to her power.
Eva would be raised by nurses and governess with all the privileges of royalty but she would feel lonely and desperate to please her mother, and would likely try and enhance both her beauty and magic as she can see the Queen values these things and she thinks its a way to gain her attention--which like, it is but not in a good way
Snow would definitely be trying to find a way to save her sister from the Queen once she's more settled herself and has gained some more allies as she'd definitely want to reclaim her kingdom one day.
(My Snow in personal a mix of the canon animated Snow with her sweetness and good nature and that hint of sassiness that also grows into the calucating and brave leader Snow we see in OUAT cuz I thought they actually did good with her in the early seasons)
Eva meanwhile in this scenario is probably in a pre-evil Regina situation where she loves her mother but is starting to realize she needs to get away from her for her own safety(I feel like she'd probably always lean towards good in most AU's as thats her base, even in the actual Descendants movies she wasn't very wicked or even vain tbh).
I think the Queen would honestly try and steal both Eva's magic and beauty for her own if not outright just kill her too if she thought she'd become a big enough threat to her power, but first she'd just try and control her and marry her off to the person who'd give her the greatest advantage in politics, which likely wouldn't be anyone Eva would really like.
(Honestly this would probably go the way of this really good OUAT fic i read but can't remember the name of where Cora was Snow's Wicked Stepmother and she and Regina were raised as sisters and Regina helped Snow's rebellion from the shadows while pretending to help Cora and in the end they're reunited as sisters xD )

favorite character: I mean, the obvious answer here is Killian Jones. And, believe me, I do love our pirate hero very, very much. But my true favorite character of the entire show (hopefully no one throws me out of the CS fandom for this) is Sheriff Graham/the Huntsman. I just adored him from the first time we met him. My heart still breaks for him. And I am always going to think he deserved better (and we deserved more of him!)

least favorite character: Probably either Cora/the Queen of Hearts or Gothel/Eloise Gardiner in Season 7
brOTP: I do really enjoy some Captain Charming - they have such a fun bros and family both connection! - but my heart really belongs to Killian and Belle. Captain Book/Captain Beauty, whichever you want to call it is such a lovely friendship. I treasure every teeny little scene of it we got to see. There’s something so redemptive and wonderful in them overcoming their past animosity and becoming friends, and I absolutely adore them bonding and having each other’s backs! 💖

OTP: It’s Captain Swan, absolutely, all the way, they’ve really taken over most of my imagination and free time! 😅 (In all fairness, I did at the start think Gremma, or HuntSwan, could be my True Love OTP, but the show very literally killed that possibility. And of course, we then met a certain dashing rapscallion who managed to win Emma’s heart… 😏)
OT3: This isn’t really a category I give lots of thought. I have read some amazing fic though with Liam/Killian/Emma as an OT3. The one that I’d call my favorite though is what I’ve sometimes seen called Irish Swan Trio: Killian/Graham/Emma. (That I would happily read more of, if it was more commonly written. 🤭)
NOTP: I have (very rarely, thankfully) stumbled upon mostly modern au fics that have Regina and Graham hooking up, or friends with benefits, or friendly exes. I absolutely cannot handle that; it is so far from what that situation truly was and it’s just upsetting to his memory. I’m also not at all a fan or HookedQueen or SwanQueen. Neither of those make much sense to me, nor does Regina even seem to like either of them much or treat them at all well. Why would they be in a relationship?
favorite storyline: It’s probably, honestly, season one. Where we first see Emma coming to Storybrooke, getting to know her son, discovering magic and fairytales are real, figuring out who all the townspeople were in the storybook, all of that. The magic is so enchanting in that first season, and it seems the most tightly well-written to me. I often say the first season’s only real flaws are Graham’s death and Killian not being there yet!

If that’s too huge a chunk to be a favorite storyline, then I’d probably say the Save Henry trip to Neverland.
least favorite storyline: I am not a fan of the second half of Season 2. It gets all convoluted and disjointed to me, and Greg and Tamara were so pointless and annoying. I don’t know if that’s so much a storyline as a least favorite segment because there doesn’t seem to be as clear a storyline, but there you are all the same. 🤷🏼‍♀️
what I wish had happened but didn't: I’m never going to stop wishing that Emma and Killian had gotten a rainbow blast True Love’s Kiss like all the other True Love couples. I know their True Love was proven in another way, but still, come on!!! 🤨
Even more than that though, I wish
1) that Emma and Killian would have had a secret small, private wedding in the Underworld with Liam performing it so he could be there, which would be an excellent callback to Snow and Charming’s first private wedding performed by Lancelot so Charming’s mother could be there.

And 2) that when we learned about the meanings behind the gravestones in the Underworld they would have gone and found Graham’s and at least learned that he had passed on and was at peace.

what happened that I wish hadn't: I would have loved them to do so much more with Jekyll and Hyde (and Jafar, for that matter) rather than split Queenie and the Black Fairy in Season 6 😝 I also would not have had Ruby run off with Dorothy.

Have you ever watched once upon a time? What if Superkid gets sent there? Maybe something similar to the Avengers au? But she is stuck longer there maybe say 1 yr goes by there and on her world it’s a small time. So she almost feels abandoned Maybe she develops an attachment to Swanqueen?
OMG YESSSSS!!! I’ve watched it and I love it, and I’m here for this prompt!
To my followers who never watched Once Upon a Time, here’s a quick explanation (though the fics are self explanatory):
The show is about fairytale characters, (such as Snow White, Prince Charming, the Evil Queen, Belle, Rumpelstilskin and so on), as they were cursed into our world, and they are now living here. Sometimes they go to another fantasy worlds and help kick ass and save lives. There’s always a kick to old stories as we know, making them super fun and different.
The main characters I’ll use are Snow White and Prince Charming, their daughter Emma, her son Henry to which she share custody with Regina (formerly known as the Evil Queen)
That’s basically it. For those who like OUAT I think you’ll really enjoy this, and if you haven’t watch the show you might still enjoy the reading, hopefully, cause I worked very hard on this series!

Hello everyone! Bet you thought I forgot all about this fic after all this time, huh? ;)
Well, never fear! I may not have a schedule, but I have a VISION, and it must be completed, no matter how long it takes! Anyone who has read Perilous Harbor since the beginning knows how long it sometimes takes me to update (@ that six month break I took after I moved to Europe lol), but I promise there's always one coming!
I spent two months dreading writing this chapter despite knowing it would be so much fun, but when I actually sat down and started, I had it finished within six hours. Lol.
Anywho! On to business! I had so much fun writing your first look at our vampire Killian! Truth be told, vampires really aren't my thing, but I love this story and I love who Killian is in this tale, and I think we will have so much fun with him! I also hope everyone will enjoy the three new characters introduced in this chapter!
I want to give a huge shoutout to @ultraluckycatnd​ for being my incredible beta and for being so understanding about my creative break since July! I'm assuming this is for OUaT and not generally! (we'd be here all day). ;-D
Anyway, yes, although with the caveat that most of my OUaT fic reading was Stuff done by LJ flisters back in the day, random stuff I found in comms, and the rest was just me trying to find good Swan Queen fic (it's a big ship. there's a lot of chaff and finding the gems without a map made my brain go kerplooey from endless AUs), but that bit's no use to you!
Anyway, what I have in my bookmarks that you might enjoy:

Love's Proper Exercise by Luthien (Teen, 7159 words. Belle/Rumple, Snow, Will Scarlet, Regina, Charming. Regency AU). Ten years ago, Belle's heart was broken. She has long since considered herself a bookish spinster, but things change the night of Lady Nolan's ball.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend AU
Regina Mills has a fulfilling live. She has a five year old kid, Henry, who's wonderful and the sunshine of her life. She has a great job as a criminal lawyer that pays more than enough for her to have a splendid penthouse on Fifth Avenue. She has what many people would only dream of achieving. But something's missing: she doesn't feel like herself anymore, and she can't find joy in anything.
Everything changes when she crosses paths with David Nolan, a guy she dated when she was seventeen at a drama summer camp. He's in NYC because of work, and he has a coffee with her. In the process, he tells her about his quiet and happy life in Storybrooke, a small town in Maine. He talks about his great friends and the fun you can have in there. And Regina takes this as a sign to move to that small town, hoping she can find happiness.
But, when she arrives, she realises that it makes no change. It takes some time, though, because she has already bought a house and enroled Henry in a local school when she finds out that David has a girlfriend. More like fiancée. But that's not why she moved in there, okay? It's not like she is still in love with David.
She's Mary Margaret, her son's teacher and a lovely girl, younger than her and funny, and adventurous, and sweet, and loving. And David is marrying her.
Little does Regina know, this is just the beginning of her story. Maybe there's more than what meets the eye with that couple, maybe she can be happy in this little town.
All she has to do is break up the couple.

500 Followers!!!

I just noticed this blog has gone over 500 followers. I want to thank you, guys, for still being here even though the posting has slowed down significantly compared to when I first made the blog. But the OUAT feels are still here even if they have gone to the background.
I am not going to be doing a celebration kind of event since I still haven’t actually gotten done my 200 followers requests which is the reason why I also didn’t make posts for 300 and 400 followers. Rain and any pairing :)?
This took forever but I finally have something!
I have been watching OUAT season 4A the last two days because I really started missing Frozen Swan and, well... I ended up with a fic! This is an AU in which something happened to Hook and he is not in the picture anymore so we have Frozen Swan instead. I have never written this before but it was fun. There is just a nod towards nsfw btw.
Summary: How can ice keep you dry and warm? Sounds impossible. But when it’s under the control of your girlfriend’s magic and stops a sudden downpour from soaking you to the bones so that you can focus on her warmth instead, it seems to have that effect.
Yet another water drop landed on her face missing her eye just barely and forcing a reflexive blink on her. More and more were sneaking through the branches of the tree that had been working as shelter from the rain before it had really started pouring down with a vengeance. One more step back had her pressed solid against the trunk with nowhere to go when the raindrops were falling over everything and smashing into the ground to the same sound effect of falling rocks.
“Maybe I can do something about it.”
She barely heard Elsa’s voice through the commotion even when she was less than an arm away – something Elsa used to her advantage as she grasped at her upper arm to draw her attention. It almost felt like she was holding on so that she wouldn't get carried away in the flooding rain. Like Emma would ever allow that.
“You’ve learned how to use your magic to teleport?” Emma asked, only letting her voice rise to make sure it would get through the roar of the raging weather. She couldn’t poof them home any more than Elsa could and she didn’t even have an excuse.
Ingrid had been the only one to figure out how to channel ice magic for uses such as teleportation and after her death, Elsa had had to deal not only with the loss of a family member and the emotional repercussions of that, but also with the loss of the only person who had the competence to give advice where her powers were concerned. As the only magic user they could trust, Regina had admitted that she had no idea how Elsa’s ice powers could be manipulated for more orthodox uses such as bending space to your will and Emma hadn’t made much progress with her own magical development which had seen them stranded under the tree they’d hoped would keep them dry.
“No,” Elsa looked at her with a half-smile as if she was not only not upset by any potential insinuations Emma’s question could have had, but she was also taking the opportunity to express her fondness of Emma’s “prickliness” as she’d put it. “I could turn the rain into snow, though,” she offered, her grip steady on Emma’s arm even when the words were treading a slippery terrain after the experience that their first meeting had been. It seemed that Elsa trusted that they could hold their ground even so with a more careful approach.
“So my choice is wet or cold?” Emma asked, using the pause Elsa filled with a pointed yet still playfully warning look to consider the options.
Snow would see them less soaked and give them the opportunity to get home without catching a pneumonia after an all too generous bath in the rain. Probably. It could work but the idea of tempering with the weather left a bland taste in her mouth like water running down her tongue and washing away every flavor and trace of life. It wasn’t that she didn’t trust Elsa’s ability to control her powers–that would be nonsensical after their shared history–but the recent change in the status of their relationship had left them both reeling and there was no telling what could happen if Elsa panicked over Emma’s lack of a matching immunity to cold.
Her own powers had acted out once again when she’d tried to conjure her gift for her girlfriend–buying something appropriate for royalty had turned out much harder than she’d imagined and she hadn’t had delusions of it being a picnic, either–and had ended up with a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows instead. Her love of cinnamon didn’t even let her peg it to her subconsciously seeking out something comforting. They had no idea what was happening to their powers–though, Regina had suggested it could be their magic trying to fit together along with every other aspect of their lives, and that was no easy feat when their romance was stretched between two worlds–so she didn’t want to risk it. The chance she’d taken on that relationship had turned out well enough, on the other hand, so she had to consider that as well.
“Hold on, let me flip a coin,” she only half-joked, her hand reaching in the pocket of her leather jacket to check for some change she might have left there but it was Elsa’s fingers wrapping around hers instead.
“Or we could have it dry and warm,” Elsa suggested as she laced their fingers in a gesture much sweeter and more innocent than the implication in her voice. For the queen of ice she really had a sizzling hot stare. Not that anyone would believe that but Emma didn’t really want them to when it meant she had all of Elsa’s passion for herself. “I can keep you warm,” she leaned in, her breath coming out in a hot puff to crash into Emma’s chilled skin and spill over it with the warmth and smoothness of melted chocolate. Maybe she could conjure them each a cup of cocoa for extra warmth... and flavor.
“And how are you gonna do- Wait, maybe I can conjure us an umbrella,” Emma wasn’t much more pleased with her self-interruption than Elsa looked but it could be just the frustration of not thinking about it sooner. “If we sync this, you can use your ice to fix it to the tree trunk above us and we can wait out the rain.” Unless the entire world ocean had evaporated in the last few days–or there was another magical threat, and that was the more likely option when you lived in Storybrooke–it couldn't keep it up for much longer the way it was streaming down. It shouldn't be a problem if they were to keep things heated.
“Okay. Let’s do it,” Elsa seemed to have reached the same conclusion and let go of her only for Emma to feel her powers activating and ready to flow with her own.
She focused on hers and the umbrella she knew Mary Margaret kept just close enough the door of the loft to grab when going out. She closed her eyes to envision it transporting the way she couldn't yet do with herself. She kept her concentration and counted on Elsa to read the right moment to step in which seemed to work as she felt the chill from Elsa’s frost in the air and looked up to find the umbrella frozen to the tree trunk and stopping any raindrops from landing where they weren’t wanted. Their magic seemed to have melded together seamlessly so maybe that was why it had been out of order the past few weeks.
“We did it.” The smile stretched Emma’s lips like she’d just received all the things on her Christmas list. Snow had been ruled out of the equation but now that they had ensured that the rain wouldn’t soak them up, there was no reason not to dive into the perks of being stranded due to bad weather conditions.
“Back to body heat then,” Elsa said as she stepped close again and Emma found herself gasping when Elsa’s hand sneaked under the hem of her sweater. Despite her ice powers, Elsa’s touch was always warm and welcome on her skin and the current crisis couldn’t change that no matter how powerful the rain was.

I’m lurking on tumblr again so here’s my ask:
17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.
Hey, thanks! And welcome back!
Apart from the fifth and final story of my canon divergence series, which will wrap up all the lingering plot points and story arcs, I do have two fics in the planning stages.
The first will be a OUAT at Hogwarts fic.  In that fic, David and Emma are adopted siblings (Emma was adopted by David’s parents as a little girl) and they are both accepted to Hogwarts on the same day.  That story will most likely be a slice of life story, as I haven’t really came up with a plot bigger than that.  At this point, all I really know is that David will be muggle born, but Emma’s biological parents (who we’ll never actually meet) were a witch and wizard. However, I have more or less figured out everyone’s house placement and wand.  You can read up on that here.  (Of course, I’m now trying to decide if I should have Belle’s wand be rosewood instead of sycamore.)  I can also say that other magical schools will be mentioned.  Emma ends up becoming pen-friends with Elsa, who attends Durmstrang with Anna.  Also, Mulan is mentioned in passing as Merida’s pen-friend from Mahoutokoro.  (Sadly, JK never came up with a wizarding school in China, so I guess I’ll have to put Mulan in the Japanese school, unless someone can give me a better suggestion.)  And Belle was previously enrolled at  Beauxbatons, but transfers to Hogwarts.  (Still trying to figure out the reasons for the transfer.)
The second fic I’m planning will be a non-curse AU, with a few tweaks to the timeline.  (For instance, Killian was born around the same time as Emma instead of centuries earlier).  In this one, Emma is given the royal upbringing she was meant to have.  Throughout her childhood, she had two best friends: Killian and a street urchin named Bae, whom Emma’s parents had taken in to be a kitchen boy.  However, when the three friends are nearing adulthood, the castle is visited by a widely feared dark wizard (three guesses who this is), who announces he will bring an end to everything King David and Queen Snow have worked for, unless Princess Emma agrees to marry his son- the very same ‘waif’ the royal family had taken in years ago.  For the sake of the kingdom, Emma agrees to the terms, but this decision devastates Killian, who secretly harbors feelings for Emma.  Unable to stay and watch Emma marry someone else, Killian elects to leave the Enchanted Forest and join his brother, Liam, in an expedition to chart out new lands.  After a few years go by, Killian and Liam are still on their extended mission, but when they are in port for ship repairs and supplies, Killian inadvertently leans of the true, sinister reasons why Dark Wizard Rumpelstiltskin wanted to ensure the marriage between Emma and Bae, and that everyone back in the Enchanted Forest is in mortal danger.  To put a stop to the evil plan, Killian must find a way to sneak back into the Enchanted Forest to warn everyone.  Of course, this task is easier said than done, as Rumpelstiltskin, knowing that Killian had figured out the truth, has managed to convince the whole kingdom that Killian is a traitor to the realm.

Self Promo Sunday: “Cold as Stone”
I originally wrote this less than a week before "Once" returned for season four. The show didn’t go this way with the Snow Queen arc, but I couldn't get how heart wrenching and dramatic it would be out of my mind, so I had to give this a shot.  In a way, I’m almost glad it didn’t go in this vein (though it would have been more true to the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale) because it would have HURT to watch... All the same, I’m still pretty fond of this three shot, so if you’ve never seen it before on my ff.net, now it’s here on Tumblr and also on AO3.

She should have known something was wrong the first time he didn't answer her call.
True, he was a one-handed, 300-year-old pirate to whom cellular technology was quite the foreign concept, more than a bit tricky to master, and strangely off-putting for one so fond of hearing his own voice – Emma Swan smirked to herself at that one – but Henry had gladly taken to showing him how the "blasted contraption", as Killian referred to it, was operated and the many things it could do. When Captain Hook had finally cottoned on to the fact that he could speak to her – and ask her questions, annoy her, lob unending innuendos at her – even when they were apart, his protests against his own cell phone had ceased.
Since then, he had never failed to answer the phone for her calls – often before it could even reach a second ring. The fact that she had called him half a dozen times in the last three hours with no response or call back, and that David hadn't seen him either, was not lost on Emma. She hated that she had tried him so many times, that she was frantic to find him, and that the panic was churning in her stomach as she slammed back out of Granny's – the last in her line of Killian's haunts where he was nowhere to be found. She did not want to be that needy type of girl she had always despised. Yet she couldn't let it go. At that point, she sensed something wrong – simply felt it in the same way that one senses she is being snuck up on from behind or that a storm is coming even before the first rumble of thunder.
The brisk bite to the air as she plowed down the street again only worsened the chill of foreboding in her gut. It might have been autumn in New England, but it was downright icy, and much too cold for September. She tried to bury her chin into the collar of her coat and think of another place to look for her erstwhile pirate, when right up ahead of her on the street, Killian Jones himself strolled around the corner of the building – leisurely, unconcerned – and not at all appearing to be looking for her.
Emma stormed toward him, feeling as though there might be actual steam pouring from her ears. She was so ridiculously worried about him – thinking some new baddie had come out of the woodwork and taken him as their first victim, that he had electrocuted himself by getting his hook caught in the toaster, or that he had been hurt, or lost… She wanted to smack him upside the head for making her so crazy, or handcuff him to her so he couldn't disappear on her again. It would serve him right for standing there looking so smug, so unfairly gorgeous, and as if he had not a care in the world.
"Something I can do for you, Lass?" he asked blithely, a devilish smirk quirking his lips. "You're staring."
It was only then that Emma realized there was something strangely off about her sailor. His voice and manner were as effortlessly flirtatious as ever, but the light in his smile was absent. The love and concern behind the play, the things that made him her Killian as well as the consummate pirate rogue, were somehow missing. While his ocean eyes usually reminded her of flames hot enough to burn blue, now they were crystalline shards of ice. A stranger was looking back at her from behind them. Emma's breath caught, and she stumbled backward as if she had been struck in the chest.
He looked at her with puzzled curiosity, but not the immediate desire to help or make it better that she had finally come to depend on from him. It was Killian…and yet, it wasn’t him at all. "Should I know you, Darling?" he said harmlessly. "You look as though you've seen a ghost."
And that did it; she shook her head blindly as tears began to fall, already freezing on her cheeks in the cold, while she pressed her hand against her mouth to hold back the cry of anguish.
Yes, she should have known something was wrong, but how could she have imagined this? Her True Love was standing right in front of her…but he no longer knew her at all.

Emma stood frozen to her spot until David came squealing up in his truck, peeling in behind where she had parked the cruiser. She had not moved or hardly breathed since Killian walked away. He had disappeared down the street again when she was unable to speak around the panic and hurt rising in her and clawing up her throat. Seemingly oblivious to her distress, or even unconcerned, which was so unlike him it made the trauma worse, he had headed off, bidding her farewell and turning his back without another glance.
"Emma!" David's voice was taut and intense as he ran up to her, seeing the expression on her face and immediately pulling her into his arms. He could see that she was not in physical danger, but that something had struck her hard; whatever had happened, the damage was already done. "What is it?! Did you find Hook?"
The dam against her emotions broke at his words, and Emma leaned into her father's strength, crying on his shoulder as she had never been able to do growing up. He shushed her hiccupping sobs, cradled the back of her head in his hand and swayed them both from side to side soothingly. Gradually, Emma brought herself back under control and pulled away, wiping the tears from her face and still sniffling, but aware once more that they were in the middle of the street and she was falling apart. This letting people in allowed her to feel so much more than she used to, but at that moment it was coming back to bite her, and she wasn't sure what to do with the empty, brittle ache in her chest and the shocked disbelief at what had just happened.
Her dad wanted answers, and Emma could tell it was taking every bit of his restraint not to press her for details. Finally, she drew enough of a steadying breath to nod and try to fill him in. "He was here," she confirmed, then faltered, biting her lip hard enough to draw blood in order not to cry again. She had done enough of that already to last her another decade, "but it – it wasn't really him."
She shook her head, knowing that couldn't make much sense, but not sure how else to put what she had experienced into words. Something had happened to her pirate, and she wasn't sure if they could right the wrong. She only knew she had to think of something. Unless…unless he really had put up with enough, gotten tired of waiting on her, of taking it slow, reassuring her at every turn, and …he truly intended to walk away –just as she had always feared he would.
David couldn't actually know her thoughts, but it seemed he read his daughter's mood just then, grasping Emma's arm to brace her and interrupt her torturous train of thought. "Emma, honey, you aren't making sense. Just take me back through what happened. What do you mean, he was here, but it wasn't him?"
Managing at last to shake her head clear and focus, Emma told herself that it was something more than her pirate changing his mind. Killian would not simply forget the feelings he had professed for her and leave. That gave her enough momentum to snap back to business. Taking a moment to square her shoulders and meet David's eye, she reiterated, "It was him…but he didn't seem to know me at all. There was no feeling there…no hint that he recognized me or felt what we are to each other."
David reached out and took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze, but didn't immediately try to coddle or brightly reassure her – for which Emma was grateful. This was not okay, and no amount of well-meant but empty words would change that.
"He was just so cold," Emma continued, her voice dropping to a harsh whisper and almost carrying away on the frigid breeze. "It was like he had completely forgotten he loves me, and I was nobody special to him at all." She pursed her lips and looked away, partially scanning the near distance for anything amiss, and partly just to avoid her father's knowing gaze. She didn't want to make him feel any guiltier than he already did for how alone in the world she had been, how many times she had been hurt and betrayed, and just how easy it was for her to believe a loved one could turn his back and abandon her.
The Prince's steady voice pulled her back and helped brace her. "Okay, here's what we'll do. I'm going to call Regina. We'll see if she has any knowledge of a curse that makes one forget or alters personality. I know we've discussed this before, but I still can't help thinking this is all related to whoever or whatever is causing the drastic shift in weather. We know it isn't Elsa – she's really coming along on her control with Regina tutoring her – but that doesn't mean some other newcomer hasn't snuck in while we were distracted."
Emma gave him a curt nod of agreement before adding wryly, "Better you than me. Ever since the whole fiasco with Robin and Marian, Regina's barely civil to me, even when Henry's present. Otherwise, she pretty much pretends I don't exist."
Her dad gave her a grim half-smile, hand on her shoulder as he held her gaze. "It will work out, Emma. Somehow, it will work out."
She rolled her eyes, but managed to smirk back before retorting, "You and Mom are both ridiculously hopeful. You know that, right?"
"Comes with who we are."
She snorted inelegantly, but managed a nod.
"In all seriousness," Charming said, sobering again, and using the 'dad' voice that let her know how in earnest he was. "I once had to hear Snow tell me she didn't love me, that I meant nothing to her, and watch her turn her back on me. I almost gave up on us, until I was reminded how priceless what we share truly is and made the decision to keep fighting for True Love. I'll admit I had my doubts about Hook at first – he is a pirate – but I can tell you now, I haven't seen someone as in love with a woman as he is with you in a long time. Don't let yourself doubt that. There is more going on here than we know."
His words did their job, though Emma found herself trying to blink back tears again. "Okay," she whispered, "I'll try to borrow a little of your faith."
She was heading back towards the cruiser awaiting what David would find out from his call to Regina before she went out on patrol and tried to figure where she might find Killian, when Ruby came bustling out of the diner and made a beeline for her.
"Didn't I see Hook out here with you a minute ago?" she asked breathlessly, an artfully sculpted brow arched in confusion. "He practically left a standing order for one of these anytime he comes by," she added by way of explanation and pressed a warm to-go cup into Emma's hand.
"He – he was here," Emma stated obviously, a bit dumbfounded by Ruby's usual quick exuberance. "I'm not sure where he went though. …What is this?"
"Hot Caramel Apple Cider," Ruby supplied with a fond grin tilting her red lips. "He was in here a week or so ago, getting coffee for you, David, and himself at the station. He overheard Henry and Grace ordering them, and he was curious, so he tried one. Then I think he ended up having two more. Said it was the best drink he'd encountered since his first taste of rum. Pretty adorable really."
Emma returned Ruby's playful grin, in spite of all the other thoughts whirling in her mind. "Yup," she added with a gleam of mischief fleeting through her otherwise tense expression. "The dread pirate Captain Hook has quite a sweet tooth." Emma's heart panged at the sense of familiarity she had come to feel with her pirate, and Ruby leaned forward; either the she-wolf's sixth sense had allowed her to pick up on something, or she had caught some trace of how Emma's face must have fallen at wondering if their True Love connection was gone.
David had just hung up the phone saying, "Okay, I'll tell her," and started back toward them, when the ache in Emma's chest suddenly intensified tenfold, doubling her over. Crying out at the abrupt, slicing pain, she clutched at her heart.
Ruby stepped closer to support her when she stumbled, and David rushed back to her side, crying out in alarm, but Emma could hardly tell what was going on around her. Her vision narrowed and her surroundings faded out, to the point that her only focus was the throbbing sensation in her chest. She almost went to her knees, gasping for breath, then the sensation ebbed a bit and she opened her eyes to see David and Ruby surrounding her worriedly.
She was about to take their offered hands and let them pull her to her feet when she was nearly crushed by the memory that invaded her thoughts. In Henry's book, she had read the story of Snow White taking the poisoned apple from Regina and eating it willingly to save Charming's life. More than that though, she remembered how miles away and unaware of what was happening, in the dungeon cell of Regina's prison, Charming had felt the life leave his True Love and fallen to the cold, hard floor, clutching his chest as if he himself had been the one cursed.
Panic replaced the hurt and indecision Emma had felt previously as she grabbed her father's forearms in a desperate grip and choked out her fears. If she and Killian were the same, if they were True Loves as well, something horrible had just happened. No matter what he felt or remembered; he had just been struck a fatal blow. She had to get to him, no matter what happened after.

Killian Jones came back to himself as if from some hypnotic daze. Glancing around, he realized that he had no idea where he was or how he had reached his current location. If he didn't know better, he would have thought he was in some sort of gigantic snow fort, so vast he couldn’t even see the far wall. He only knew that behind him rose a pristine, flawless partition of freezing white. He shivered on reflex, before realizing that he was almost beyond sensation. He knew he must be cold; he was only wearing his open-necked black shirt and leather vest and duster. Yet, though common sense would insist he should be freezing, he honestly felt nothing at all.
It was troubling enough that his natural curiosity was overridden by the immediate desire to get out and get back to town. His thoughts were fuzzy and sluggish at best, but he knew there were people there who would surely explain to him what was going on; in fact, yes, there was one in particular… A flash of golden tresses and crackling green eyes darted through his mind and escaped again before it could solidify or he could put a name to the vision, but he knew. His lass…his love…he needed to get back to her…
Striding forward, he was nearly thrown back when he smacked into a solid barrier of ice. It had been completely transparent and invisible until he touched it, and Killian reached out, disbelieving, until his fingers slid along the glassy face of the obstruction. "What bloody sorcery is this?!" he swore to himself, pushing against the wall only to find that it would not budge in the slightest. He took two steps back, then bodily threw himself against the blockade, but it did not good. Not even a crack appeared. Growing desperate, the pirate began to pace his crystal prison, seeking another way out and growing more angry and frantic by the moment. She was worried about him; he could tell. He needed to reach her, whoever she was, and he needed to get out of this white fortress. He did not know how he had ended up here in the first place, but it was unnatural and he wanted no more of it.
He swung his hook forward, hoping to stab the metal tip in deep enough to shatter the sheet of ice, or at least put a crack in the surface, but it merely gouged in and stuck. Killian was struggling to free his metal appendage when an eerie, trilling laugh blew past him on the wind. Looking left and right, he still saw no one, but a strange, disembodied female voice followed the laughter. "My my," the ghostly speech lilted, "aren't you a bit anxious to leave? You're such a handsome one…I think I might keep you a bit longer."
Killian's face twisted in anger and he growled, freeing his hook at last and brandishing it in front of him, though he had no way of knowing where the mysterious being was speaking from. "Show yourself, demon," he challenged. "I'm not a toy or plaything. Let me out of your magic cave."
The strangely light, frighteningly cheery laughter sounded again, tinkling in his ears like icicles against the surface of a frozen lake. "Oh no, I think not," the female tone assured him. "It's been much too long since I've had visitors. We're going to have bit more fun."
Steeling himself for whatever attack must be coming, Killian still saw no visible sign of his captor. He had just relaxed slightly, thinking perhaps she had left him alone again to brood on his fate, when a sudden chill ran down his spine, and ice shards and snow began to whirl in a miniature storm all around him, striking at every bit of his exposed skin. Looking down, he was aghast to see a large, deadly-looking splinter of solid ice impossibly stabbing right through leather, skin and bone into his heart. A paralyzing pain invaded his chest as the wicked spike disappeared within right before his eyes. Numbness set in after the pain, until a second, throbbing ache pulsed through his being, this one distant, almost out of body, but no less debilitating.
His vision began to darken; suddenly the haze that had surrounded him thawed. No longer numb, he was so bitterly cold that he knew he must be dying. He fell against the wall, going helplessly motionless as ice seemed to overtake his body inch by horrible inch, encasing him and freezing over his skin, stealing breath and warmth. One last thought burst through before he went mercifully unaware – one last shot of warmth. Emma, his mind screamed, reminding him who he had needed to get back to, who the second stroke of pain must have belonged to…his True Love. Her name is Emma.
But then there was nothing.
So, here is the final installment of this three-parter. Maybe I should have shared a bit of this sooner, not knowing how familiar many are with Andersen's "The Snow Queen".  In that fairy tale, there are two children, Kay and Gerda, who have always been each other's best companions and are probably even in love with each other, but don't know it yet because they are so young. Anyway, a piece of glass (for the purposes of this story, I'm going to use ice) gets into Kay's eye and distorts his vision, and eventually even his thoughts and feelings. Everything he loved and cared about means nothing to him, including little Gerda. He then encounters the Snow Queen, who, because of his numbed heart, is able to lure him away with her to her castle of ice and snow. He doesn't even remember his previous loved ones or friends to miss them. Then Gerda sets off to find him and get him back. Obviously, I've taken my own liberties with it, but that's the basic idea that got this story running.
Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think. I still don't own any of the "Once" characters, nor Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale.

The pain in Emma's chest had subsided to a dull throb, but she found that her hand kept absently coming up to press against the area as they conferred together and put a plan into action. From David's conversation over the phone with Regina, they at least had a starting point, if nothing else. Apparently, the day before, the mayor and her young princess protégé had been out in the woods, where they had been conducting lessons to harness Elsa's magic, and Regina had thought that something seemed different in the landscape north of the forest's edge. There had always been some hills in the distance a few miles off in that direction, but she had never noticed them looking so large and foreboding before. In fact, one had almost resembled a mountain of ice and snow. She had intended to go back out and investigate, but did not think it wise then, with Elsa in tow, as unstable as the poor young woman's powers were.
It could have nothing to do with Killian's unfathomable behavior, where he had gone, or what had happened to him, but it was all they had to go on. In Emma's experience with Storybrooke and magic, when something odd was going on, it all generally ended up being connected. Her pirate wasn't anywhere else nearby, and she couldn't stand around waiting if the pain that had nearly toppled her had only been an echo of what he had felt. He needed her, and she was not going to fail him. There had been so many times when she was blind to all that Killian had done for her; he had given and sacrificed, patiently waiting for her to see the light and accept the love he had offered her. She often felt in the time since they'd become a couple that she could never repay him, could never express what she felt as he so freely did for her.
Oh, she loved him; she had known that for much longer than she was willing to admit. What was harder was actually telling him so. Confessing that she needed Killian Jones in her life forever, that she would crumble if he left her now, was daunting – and, for Emma – a sight more terrifying than fighting a dragon or facing Peter Pan himself head on. Killian deserved to know his love was fully returned and that he finally had her trust and her whole heart. Yet, though she could sometimes see the wistful need in his eyes, he had never pushed her for the words. She stumbled over them when she attempted it, and stuttered into silence when she tried to tell him how she truly felt. Eventually, Killian would save her from her own floundering, kissing her lips until her babble stopped, and he would assure her that whatever it was she was trying to say, he would wait until she was able to tell him. He wasn't going anywhere.
'You promised me,' she whispered to herself, scrunching her eyes closed and picturing that adoring, perfect face. She pressed the heel of her hand to her chest once more, putting pressure against the dull ache.
She was not waiting around for Regina to come check this out – even if the assistance of the queen's power and experience would make it a much safer and smarter venture. She needed to move – to find Killian now – and she knew Regina would be in no hurry to help her save her pirate and return their happy ending, not when Emma had unknowingly ruined Regina's own second chance. Instead, once all that info had been relayed, she headed for the cruiser, jerked the door open, and was about to head out to that edge of the woods without another moment's thought.
"Emma, wait!" David called. "I'm going with you. There's more…"
"You'd better not think you're leaving me!" Ruby added, coming up beside her dad.
"Guys, I appreciate the gesture, but I'm flying blind here. This has to be dark magic, and I'm sure I should be waiting for Regina's back-up. I don't want anyone else getting hurt for my impatience."
She had known it wouldn't help, but Emma still sighed when David slid into the passenger seat and Ruby scrambled in back.
"Too bad," her father said in a voice that brooked no argument, "you're getting our help anyway."
As they pulled out onto the street and started out of town, Emma listened anxiously to the rest of the information David had gathered from Regina. "She didn't know all the details," he was relating, "but she knew there were many other spells and methods for cursing hearts. She had always seen her mother remove hearts and keep or crush them, which was what Rumple then taught her as well. However, there were rumors in our old land, before she cast the curse that took us all away, of a new queen gaining power in the far north – one that could freeze hearts."
Emma chanced a quick, sidelong glance at her father upon hearing those words, a little gasp escaping her as she pictured again how cold and unfeeling Killian's expression had been in a face that was usually so warm and inviting. "Freeze them?" she questioned. "My common sense wants to ask how that wouldn't kill a person, but I know by now that doesn't really mean much around here."
Ruby let out a tense giggle in the backseat and agreed with her sardonically. "You've got that right for sure. If everyone in Storybrooke were subject to natural injury or aging, there wouldn't be many of us left."
Emma gave Ruby a smirk in the rearview mirror, then turned her attention back to her father. "Know anything else about this Ice Queen?"
David gave a terse nod and continued. "According to Regina, rumors had reached her of people in that area going missing and then reappearing, but treating their loved ones as strangers upon their return. They seemed devoid of feeling or previous connection, but otherwise themselves. It had caused enough of a stir that Regina commented she would have gone to check it out and let this being know who was truly in charge in the realm – if she had been planning to stay. However, she was days from enacting the Dark Curse, so she didn't waste much thought on it, or find out how the thing was being done."
"As per usual," Emma commented, frustrated and feeling no more equipped for what they might be about to face, "if it didn't help her personal agenda, it didn't matter."
By this time, they had reached where the road trailed away at the edge of the woods. Beyond that, the terrain got rougher, the trees thicker, and the road simply carried on no further. Parking and turning off the key in the ignition, Emma drew in a deep, steadying breath, trying to prepare herself and convince her own mind that she knew what she was about to plunge them into. She really had no idea, and for probably the hundredth time since she had begun actively trying to use her light magic, she felt woefully unprepared and inadequate. Trying not to show any of her reservations visibly, she squared her shoulders, stepped out of the cruiser, and looked at her two compatriots hopefully. "Ready?"
"You bet," Ruby nodded, her eyes fierce and stance determined.
"Right beside you," David affirmed seriously.
Emma started forward with a nod at their answers. Though she dreaded taking either of them into a trap with her, or getting either of them hurt if she failed, it was reassuring not to be alone. Pushing her way through the last of the undergrowth and out of the last stand of the tree line, Emma was pulled up short by the sight that met her eyes.
It was like a mountain had grown at their borders overnight. Craning her neck, Emma realized that the white fortress rising in front of her disappeared into the clouds before the top even became visible. David and Ruby tramped up on either side of her and let out similar breathless exclamations of shock as well.
Eerie as it was, Emma now had the distinct feeling that this was right where they needed to be. How or why, she wasn't sure, but this was where she should be to get Killian back; she felt it in the rising hairs along the nape of her neck and the twist in her gut, just as she had felt something wrong that morning when Killian had not answered his phone. This could be their freakin' Snow Queen's palace for all she cared, Emma was going in.
She rested her hand on her gun for reassurance and plunged forward, starting out across a snowy clearing, when she realized David and Ruby were no longer at her sides. Turning, she was stunned and struck with confused apprehension to see that her father and her friend were several feet behind her, pushing against some sort of invisible barrier, unable to come any further forward. Whatever the strange force was, it had not stopped Emma. She hadn't even noticed it, but as she retraced her steps to them, she found that she was now kept within its edges. Though completely transparent, it was as hard and solid as any physical wall, separating her from the other two.
Watching tensely, Emma could see that neither David nor Ruby were hurt or in any distress, other than her father seeming nearly beside himself at being kept from coming to her aid. He was speaking to her, but the sound was muffled by the strange barrier, and she could make out no distinct words, only a garbled murmur that vaguely matched the movement of his lips.
It was just as well; she could tell by his expression that David was telling her to wait, to use her magic to get back to them and regroup; at any rate, Emma knew her father didn't want her continuing on alone. A quick glance at Ruby though, showed Emma that the other woman already knew what she intended to do. There was a calm look of acceptance and understanding on her friend's face that centered Emma and helped steel her resolve. She couldn't wait any longer; she had to get to Killian. Ruby would be with David. He would do the same thing himself if it were Snow in danger. Once he calmed down, David would have to admit that.
Shaking her head and trying to give her father an apologetic look, Emma turned her back and resolutely started toward the gigantic white structure again. It didn't take long to cross the snowy stretch of clearing and reach the foot of the mound, which she could now see resembled a rough sort of citadel, like some giant child had begun a snow fort and then abandoned the task. Looking back, Emma could barely make out David and Ruby, or even the outline of her cruiser, any longer; it seemed instead that she was the only living being now encased in a silent, empty world of white. Tilting her head back, Emma could see how this pristine, glittering edifice towered over her and all the surrounding landscape. It was as if the temperature dropped another twenty degrees at the sheer immensity facing her, and Emma shivered, feeling dwarfed by her own uncertainty and reservations.
She studied the daunting view a moment longer, and it was then that she discovered a fissure a bit to the left of where she stood, appearing just wide enough that she could squeeze through and into the interior of the structure. Squaring her shoulders, and setting her resolve, Emma pictured Killian's smile, his dedication, and the feel of her hand held warm and safe in his larger one, then she plunged in, trying not to think about what might go wrong and focus on the possibility of finding him.
The moment she stepped through the passage and into the frigid cave-like interior, Emma sensed there was no going back; she could feel a sort of tension, a heavy waiting in the air. Darkness closed in as the outside light was blocked, and she squinted, trying to see a way forward. The chill almost stole her breath, and Emma clutched her arms around her torso, attempting to hold in any bit of heat she could, but she wasn't changing course. Her hair stood on end as she debated which way to go; something told her that Killian was there.
She hadn't been long, letting her eyes adjust and straining to see something, anything, that gave her a clue where to go next, when a strange, tinkling, like the glass pieces of a wind chime, reached her ears. Nothing became visible, but an oddly bright, disturbingly playful voice filled the interior of the arctic room and ran shivers down her spine.
"Hello," the spritely, feminine voice trilled, setting Emma's teeth on edge and sounding all too pleased with itself. "So you're the Savior I've heard so much about. We've been waiting for you."
There was a frigid little laugh, humored but brittle enough to shatter easily. Emma was not amused, and the steel in her voice showed it when she replied. "We? Who do you mean? If you're talking about Killian, you had better believe I'm not leaving here without him."
"We shall see…but at least now you will have to play fair. Sorry to block your little helpers, Savior, but I only wanted you."
Shaking her head in disgust, Emma stopped treating with the disembodied voice, as its owner continued to remain invisible and gave the distinct impression of toying with her. She only hoped that her pirate had not already paid a price he wouldn't recover from in the plot to draw her here.
As if her thoughts had been read, enough light to lead her eyes to the opposite wall filtered through the open, cavernous space. "Oh alright, see to your lovely captain. I don't think he will want to leave me, but you can find out for yourself…" Demented little giggles echoed through the air, rebounding sickeningly in Emma's head.
Then, she spotted Killian at last, standing motionless, and she ran to him with a strangled cry before giving another thought. She never even paused or drew a breath until she reached him, finally face to face with her sailor again. However, as soon as she got close, her throat constricted with panic and horror at the sight. Tears that she would not give the unseen witch the pleasure of seeing her shed prickled at the corners of her eyes on taking in Killian's shocking appearance.
While he had appeared fine (other than not knowing her) when she had approached him in town not long ago, Killian now seemed a lifeless statue before her. Emma could not stop the emotion that welled up in her chest as she reached out a hand to touch her love and found his skin chilled, glacially cold, with no rise and fall of air in his chest, not a flicker of life in that lively, beguiling face, no lean into her touch that she had come to adore. It frightened her how the cold seemed to radiate from within, his brow frozen in a defiant but worried tilt, and the blue tinge of Killian's skin. Frost tipped his black hair, making him appear fragile and gray, as old as he truly was.
Emma ignored the frosty bite to her fingers and laid her hand over Killian's cheek, trying to convey that she was there for him, to comfort him, to warm. Though there was no response, she prayed he was aware, that he felt her beside him somehow. He couldn't be…gone. He just couldn't. They had come too far to have their chance at happiness stolen from them now.
"What did you do to him?!" she yelled at the malevolent being who still refused to show her face. Anger flared within Emma, bringing a crackling warmth under her skin against the frigid air. For a moment, she didn't even care if the magic she conjured against this foe was light or dark, and sparks crackled at her fingertips in anticipation of a fight.
"Oh, you don't like him that way?" the enchantress pouted coyly, completely unconcerned with Emma's mounting turmoil. "Pity, because I don't think you will be able to do anything about it. Besides, I like him this way – my own lovely little trophy."
"Why?" Emma gritted out, trying to balance between the rage she felt simmering within her at this villainess and the bile rising in her throat at Hook's still form, which she protectively moved in front of, whether or not it was too late. "What did he ever do to you to deserve this?"
"Oh!" the voice exclaimed, then grew noticeably more malicious than it had yet been. "No, no, dear, you're mistaken. The Captain didn't do anything. He were merely handy, certainly easy on the eyes which makes this all the more delicious, but mostly he was my surest way to get to you. I am the Snow Queen. And now that I am here, the Land Without Magic will be mine – just as the far reaches of the realm your perfect parents and the Evil Queen left behind became mine. It was easy to discover that you are the one who could stand in my way, so I needed you debilitated. One can see clearly that whatever small bits of your shriveled, battered heart still work belong to him. Poor man. It was almost too easy. A well-placed story that your 'motor vehicle' had broken down at the town line, leaving you stranded in this unnaturally cold weather, and he walked right into my grasp." The chortling in that light, airy voice made Emma want to scream; she was sure she could have produced a Regina-worthy fireball to fling at this rival's face, if only she would show herself.
"Why didn't you just come after me?" Emma finally asked, dread filling her that maybe Killian was permanently lost to her and it was all her fault. He had charged right into a trap in his infinite concern for her, and she had been the reason he was targeted in the first place.
"Because…as untapped as it may be, your light magic is powerful…and fueled by love. Rather than take my chances fighting you, it seemed easier to weaken you at the source…your True Love."
Emma gasped in spite of herself. She had thought it many times, come to believe it deep within her soul, but never had the words been uttered aloud. Were she and Killian?…Could it be true? If so, then…
"Ah, ah, ah, not so fast," the voice tittered. "It won't be that simple. I froze his heart before I froze the rest of him. A kiss won't fix it, because his heart is no longer capable of feeling. The ice within prevents it."
"So what's your plan? Freeze me too and take over the world?" Emma shot back bitterly.
"After I watch you fruitlessly try to restore your love and bask for a moment in my triumph," the Snow Queen continued, voice going deadly calm and intent, "that is exactly what I mean to do. Without the pirate's steadfast faith to back you, you cannot do a thing to stop me."
Emma turned helplessly to face Killian once more, indeed feeling the strength seep out of her at the thought of him no longer caring, no longer existing at all. She studied his unseeing blue eyes and tried to will him to life again. Burying her face in his chest, now hard as literal rock, she let her silent tears flow unabated at last. She was too late; it was all for nothing. Sobs shook her frame as she clung to him, defeated but unwilling – unable – to let him go. He had fought so hard for her, to bring her back, and now… It would have terrified her at any other time to be falling apart this way, the sheer force with which her tears poured forth and how the warm drops soaked his shirt beneath the stiff, frozen leather of his outer coat.
"Killian," she pleaded quietly, not wanting the psychotic witch still laughing with glee behind him to hear. "Please, Killian. Can you hear me? Come back to me…" Emma pressed her face right up against the spot beneath which his heart resided. She tenderly placed a kiss against the chilled skin there, and suddenly realized that, though wet with the traces of her weeping, it was less frozen than the rest of him, and still warming under her touch, thawed by her tears.
Afraid to make a sound and give the Snow Queen a hint of what was happening, Emma kept her face buried against Killian, running her fingers up to stroke through his icy hair, feeling its strands soften again to their normal texture. She kept her eyes carefully hidden, knowing that the spark of hope kindling in them would give her away. The tears still flowed from her unchecked, doing their job, and she could feel his body returning to life under her fingers as she held him to her tightly. Endeavoring to hide his restoration for as long as possible under the pretext of saying her final goodbye, Emma instead moved in close to soothe Killian when he finally regained awareness – knowing he would be immediately confused and on the alert.
Sure enough, only moments later, Emma felt her pirate's muscles jerk and then clench, his lungs sucking in a desperate heave of fresh air, before his eyes quickly flew to meet hers. "Emma, love, what is it? Are you alright?" he asked with enough love and fear for her in his voice to assure Emma that his heart was once again properly his own.
Blinking back the last of her tears, at least for the moment, she only murmured, "I'm about to be," before surging up to mesh her lips with his desperately, passionately, and with everything she felt for him, even what she had never before managed to say.
He let out a surprised little grunt, and her momentum pushed him back into the wall of snow behind them, caught off guard and still trying to catch up to where he was and what was happening. Nevertheless, his arms immediately wrapped around her and his lips fused with hers gladly, drawing her closer and blessedly kissing her back.
A bracing wind whipped up, whirling around them, snatching Emma's hair and Killian's coat, flapping them wildly; bright light pulsed from where they were locked in an embrace and spread out to illuminate every recess of their enemy's fortress. The Snow Queen howled in rage and hatred. "How have you done this?!" she demanded, the voice no longer light but haggard and raw, scraping desperately in thwarted evil. "It should have been impossible!"
Despite her villainous railing, despite the howl of the wind and the crash of falling chunks of the icy ceiling. The rumbling and tremors of the ground beneath their feet shook them, but nothing could pull Emma and Killian apart now that they were reunited. He clung to her every bit as desperately as she did to him, until suddenly the rattling and reverberations became so violent that they threw Emma into him again, and they were both nearly knocked off their feet.
Pulling away from each other reluctantly at the anguished final wail of the Snow Queen, Emma realized that their foe appeared to be vanquished, gone, and that her lair was falling down around them. Killian pulled at her hand, urging Emma from her shocked stupor and into motion. "Come, Love, we have to get out of here."
At the Snow Queen's defeat, the ice and snow of the chamber walls were literally melting, shrinking as their materials streamed in rivers to the ground. Fleeing his collapsing prison, slipping and sliding, Killian deftly pushed Emma out in front of him the way she had entered, and squeezed through on her heels, just before the opening itself liquefied and dissolved. They could both hear the crushing slough of ice and frost-filled water pouring and cascading down behind them, gushing like a river freed of its dam.
Even running their fastest, Killian and Emma were picked up in the torrent and carried along on the stream across the empty space she had traversed alone not an hour before, until they were deposited, soaked and panting, their relief and flagging adrenaline so great they were laughing in near hysteria, at David and Ruby's shocked feet. Eyes wide, the prince and the werewolf helped both of them to their feet, beyond relieved after having seen Emma disappear into the snow fortress, heard the screeching of their enemy, then helplessly watched the whole mountain start to topple before the princess and pirate had reappeared.
"Are you alright?" her father asked more quietly after stopping his barrage of questions to breathe. He smoothed her sodden hair back from where it was matted to her forehead and tried to peer deep into her eyes, as if expecting her to deflect or put him off.
Emma met his gaze with a gentle smile, then reached for Killian's hand, knowing she would find it there, and twined his fingers with her own. "A warm bath wouldn't hurt either one of us, I'm sure," she joked wryly. Then, with the seriousness of a vow, she added, making sure Killian could see the truth in her eyes, and that it was only because he was returned to her, "But we're going to be fine now."

A few days later, Killian Jones stood outside the sheriff's station, waiting for Emma to finish her shift. With his arms crossed, leaning against the side of his love's little yellow Bug, he looked the picture of calm, but in truth the reformed rogue was deep in thought. He and Emma were due for their several-times-delayed first date meal within the hour. He was dressed in her world's modern garb for the occasion, a surprise he had managed to carry out for her with the help of Henry and Dave, and though he was not at all sure what he thought of the feel and practicality of the charcoal grey slacks, navy blue shirt and grey vest he was wearing instead of his accustomed black leather, he tried to focus on the amused and affectionate twinkle he hoped to see in Emma's eyes once she glimpsed his effort.
Emma. His heart squeezed at the thought of the danger she had put herself in to rescue her, and at the pain in her eyes when she had gazed at him once they were home again safe and sound, both bathed and warmed in sweats and cuddled under blankets on her parents' couch, with Snow fussing over them and bringing hot cocoa. ‘You didn't know me,’ she had whispered, burrowing into his side and avoiding his eyes as she continued brokenly. ‘I had never told you what you meant to me, and it was almost too late. I was nothing to you. You would have walked away from me like everyone else.’
She had not been blaming him. In fact, he got the distinct impression that she had been heaping judgment on herself. Though he knew as well as she did that the Snow Queen's freezing of his heart had taken his emotions out of his control, he still hated to have caused her pain. How could he have forgotten his love for her? Killian had sworn to himself long again that she would never see him turn his back on her, never betray or desert her as she had suffered so often in the past. Yet, he could see in her pleading eyes that she had believed him gone, that she had felt herself abandoned once more.
There was nothing for it but to start again from that moment. Willingly, he would never do anything but endeavor to bring her happiness. He had already spent too much of his unnaturally long life dwelling on past mistakes and what could not be changed; he still had a future here with his Savior, and they could both find happiness at long last.
It was not much longer before Emma emerged from the station door, sliding her arms into her red leather jacket and looking toward her car to find him waiting. A wide, happy grin broke across her face, more simple and uninhibited than he had seen her wear, crinkling her dimples and brightening her entire aspect. To Killian's eyes, she brightened the very world around her.
She moved to stand before him, smirking at him smugly and reaching out a hand to pull him to her by his vest front. "Told you those modern clothes would suit you, Pirate," she murmured, humming lightly as she leaned in and placed a quick kiss to the tip of his nose, then each of his cheeks.
"Aye, you did Milady," he returned, voice rumbling low and smug smile matching hers. He allowed himself to be pulled easily into her clutches, letting Emma set the pace as she slipped her hands up his back to delve into his hair and pulled his face down to kiss him more thoroughly.
And later, when they entered Granny's together, in full view of the dinner crowd, when Emma lead him through the door by their joined hands, brought them up to her lips, and kissed the back of his palm with a secret, satisfied smile on her face, Killian felt more peace in himself than he had in ages. They were in this for the long haul now – both of them – and done letting anything stand in their way, be it outside threat or their own walls and scars. This was real and True...for all to see.

Ooh, this one’s gonna be long! And I am too lazy to go onto desktop to add a read more, sorry folks.
Not a Date + Soulmate AU — Snowby (Fables)
This one just screams Snowby to me, tbh. It’d really just be canon a bit to the left to accommodate for a more traditional soulmate AU, although I do still desperately want Bigby to have stolen Magus Atlante’s destiny so I guess in this soulmarks can be transferred by someone who assigns destinies like Lake, idk.
Anyway, this would be set early on in the series, when Snow and Bigby are still doing kind of a will-they-won’t-they thing. Probably they’re working some kind of case for the mayor’s office and end up meeting for a business dinner somewhere inappropriately high-scale or romantic. Something about the place (dress code making Bigby take off his coat?) allows Snow to get a glance at Bigby’s soulmark, which matches her own. She continues to talk business admirably while freaking the hell out in her head. It’d probably end with Snow confronting Bigby about it after the case is completed, and him eventually admitting that they’re soulmates but that he’s not about to pressure her into anything. Snow being Snow, I don’t think there’d be a quick or easy resolution, so it’s the kind of story that might end in an unsatisfying way.
Stranded Due To Inclement Weather + I Didn’t Mean To Turn You On — 9RoseJack (Doctor Who)
I’m thinking 9RoseJack for this one; in which case it’s really more “I didn’t mean to turn you on ;)” haha. Basic premise would be that they end up visiting an icy/snowy planet or an old-timey Christmas together, so they can celebrate with the proper atmosphere (Nine is very insistent about this). Something goes awry, as usual, and Team Tardis finds themselves stranded, unable to get back to their beloved ship. They get snowed in, and decide to cuddle up for warmth (although they do manage to fumble through getting a fire going in the hearth — I’m picturing Jack and Nine arguing about how to do it properly until Rose, shivering and pissed off, just steps in and does it for them). And then Jack gets frisky, because of course he does. He probably ends up making sad noises about mistletoe and traditions until they all at least have a nice makeout session, lol
Sleep Intimacy + It’s Not You, It’s My Enemies — MattFoggy (Daredevil)
This... Is an angst fic. Like I literally can’t think of any other configuration for these two tropes. I’m gonna say MattFoggy for this because a apparently I love suffering. The story would open with Matt having just saved Foggy from some sort of horrible and traumatic Daredevil-related peril — Foggy is safe, and once everyone is patched up, the two of them agree to get their rest. They cuddle up in bed, and Foggy falls off pretty easily because he knows Matt’s with him and that makes him feel safe. Matt, on the other hand, stays up making himself sick with guilt. He brought Daredevil into Foggy’s life. He’s the one who was selfish enough to bring Foggy into a romantic relationship — even knowing that a romantic relationship with Matt has been damaging or deadly for a number of people. Matt’s enemies will keep coming after Foggy as long as he’s in Matt’s life. So he spends all night awake, holding Foggy close and cataloguing everything he can about him, because he’s planning to leave. It’ll keep Foggy safe. He has to.
Probably the fic ends with him slipping out of bed and beginning to pack.
(Of course he’s being an absolute fucking dumbass and peacing out is definitely not going to keep Foggy safe, so if the plot did keep going Foggy would either catch him and give him a verbal thrashing for being a self-sacrificing asshole, or Matt would succeed in running away and then almost immediately have to return to save Foggy from more peril.)
Survival/Wilderness Fic + Neighbor AU — Swan Queen (OUAT)
Oh god this would be like. The perfect Swan Queen premise, amirite? Emma moves into town, she and Regina are neighbors — the kind that hate each other, not the kind that borrow sugar from each other — and we can keep the custody battle over Henry in the picture since he’s so important to both of them and their dynamic. So in other words, canon except Emma bought the house next door to Regina specifically to piss her off and be closer to Henry.
However, they’re so caught up in their feud with each other that someone who hates them both is able to get the jump on them and — gasp! — kidnap Henry! Regina and Emma are left tied up in that one cabin in the middle of nowhere, and have to work together to get back to town to save their son.
Also they are very gay.
