What if the Bachelor episode leads to a discussion at the station about finding true love, about what you want and need in a partner, and about what it really takes to get that special relationship. Eddie repeats his wish for a partner who has his back. Buck says he needs someone who accepts his emotional baggage and doesn't mind that he's a little bit of a mess. Which earns him the softest look from Eddie as he silently shakes his head. Hen talks about how important it is to be a team and to trust each other. Chim shrugs and says that he just knows he wants Maddie in his life until his dying day, and Bobby adds that he'd gladly take a dozen bullets for Athena and their kids and he just knows that she feels the same.

"But how do you find something like this?" Ravi asks.

And Buck says, "You don't find it. You make it."

He doesn't look at Ravi, though. He looks at Eddie.

Eddie looks back at him.

I am unwell.

I feel like this episode tore my heart into pieces and fixed it up again all in a time span of round about 45 minutes.

This was a true masterpiece. It felt like a Fanfiction coming to life. And watching it had me in a whirlwind of emotions throughout the whole episode.

It's almost 4 am and I am unable to fall asleep because I feel just as broken as Rick looked the moment Michonne gave him the phone with Carl's portrait on it.

Today's top three dialogue moments that broke my entire existence:

3. “You're the love of my life. i couldn't just let you go. It felt like my heart ripped itself out of my chest and walked out the door"

2. "Carl. They took Carl. I lost him again."

So I understand why Eowyn would fall in love with Faramir, but what would he see in her?

This has been in my inbox so long that I actually forgot that I hadn't already answered it, but I think it's because I found it so puzzling.

Éowyn is daring, courageous, beautiful, intense, resolute, and fiercely loyal. Despite a certain coldness that she's had to develop, she has a great deal of vitality, nerve, and energy (where Faramir, though young for a Dúnadan, is bound up in the legacy of the last several thousand years of his people's history, is literally haunted by it, and represents a time and a phase of their being that is largely over). Her choices are not necessarily ones Faramir would make or advise, but they are driven by qualities he finds appealing.

And they have a lot of parallels and commonalities as well, so while they are attracted in part by difference, there are other ways in which they're very much a birds-of-a-feather couple. There are the obvious parallels in their situations, but they're also like ... Faramir faces down the One Ring itself, rejects it after a moment's temptation, then laughs. Éowyn faces down the Witch-King of Angmar and when he threatens her, she laughs. Even though their romance is very sudden and develops very rapidly, it makes a lot of intuitive sense to me that these are people who would find each other cool and lovable.

Okay, so the thing about how T'Pring and Spock are actually almost but not quite perfect for each other. And why I find them both sweet and kind of sad, was perfectly shown at the end of this episode when she and Spock had their conversation.

It's that no, Spock doesn't have feelings for Nurse Chapel (he really does seem to love T'Pring during this point in time) but he's not INCAPABLE of having feelings for Nurse Chapel.

And I think he knows that. It would be easier if that was true, if he would only be able to picture himself building a life and a family with a Vulcan. But it's simply... not the case.

And I know he hasn't accepted that yet (partially because right now he loves T'Pring and is absolutely picturing a future with her, and partially because he's got LOADS of internalized stigma against the fact he's half human). But it's one of those things that showcase how love just... isn't always enough. And won't be.

Meanwhile T'Pring is really fighting here to see and accept Spock's half-human nature (occasionally in a way that makes me cringe, occasionally in a way that's actually rather sweet, occasionally in a way that is downright hilarious). And I LIKE that she's trying. But she's also putting in more effort into their relationship than Spock is and that's kind of sad.

Actually, it ironically feels like T'Pring is a little ahead of Spock in accepting Spock's nature, while Spock is still trying to be a "Good Vulcan".

They're not meant for each other. We know that. But they very nearly could have been. And that makes for a very effective and engaging story that I'm enjoying quite a lot.

Tbh (I am not that anon, but I share similar opinions regarding this) I am kind of worried that most Bylers won't receive the storyline as better written or compelling in the next season if Byler doesn't happen in a certain way they're expecting or wanting it to happen (or if Mike's character doesn't end up as they imagined/wished him to be). Because I keep seeing all these takes that Mike being oblivious wouldn't fit for his character bc he's smart and he'd figure out the romance complexities as well, and he must have definitely lied and must be strictly gay 100% and his romance with El should be completely discredited, and he should get Vecna'd and exposed and he's a very secretive character and Byler should get together in an intense dramatic life threatening situation and I'm like... i get it, everyone has their own opinions and wants but aren't those opinions a little bit too specific? and that it's setting up a certain expectation here, and ultimately will lead to ppl saying it's bad/weak writing if none of those things happen in canon.

i feel like no matter what happens people (me included) will be disappointed because it's just like volume 2 we've just been thinking about it for too long lol. and i don't think mike should have all the romance complexities figured out just because he's smart but i do think him not knowing how HE feels makes no sense. in terms of the narrative and also just taking this into consideration

the vecna thing and them getting together in an intense dramatic life-threatening situation yeah that's a very specific thing to expect i don't think you should go into the season expecting anything that specific because that's very "will's painting is gonna be the swing set" and we all know how that turned out. but it's also all in good fun like everyone is obviously gonna get a lot of things wrong lol

about gay mike specifically, i totally get why you would worry about people being too sure about that and then not liking the way byler happens if he isn't but to me it kind of feels like when people tell us not to be so confident byler is gonna happen. like i just see it. i can't unsee it. and it's what makes the most narrative sense to me. but he could come out and say i'm 99.7% gay only and i'd still support him🙏
