I give you: The Navigator’s Map of Shanties for the Weary Voyager!
So my husband got the idea to make a timeline map of my Shanks x Makino series ("Shanties" for short), so that readers could better see how the different fics are connected, and while I should have been prepared, knowing full well how brilliant he is, I was not prepared for the end result. I mean look at it!!!
Some descriptions of key fics and planned updates below! The fics are listed in the recommended reading order on AO3, but feel free to chart your own course! Beware rogue whirlpools and dangerous straits, and remember that however dark and treacherous the sea, at the end of the voyage is always a safe harbour ♥

Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)?
Best biologist would be Yarrow if he actually focused on it because organic sciences come more easily to him, but also he might not be the best because his focus would be everywhere. Roman is the secondmost likely to do well at it because he's a giant nerd who lives for school and knowledge and just always does that with all his classes.
Any OC OTPs?
oOO with my own guys not as much but me and my wife have a few... huge shoutout to the OGs Roman and Vince, still going strong quite literally 14 years now! (Of my own characters besides this I think I'm... forming an otp for two skyship captains... late-middle aged milf rivals is very tempting to me)
Any OC crackships?
fjfhd GOOD question. I think Yarrow smash or passing every character I have is very funny as an idea, and maybe the funniest possibility is like. the absolutely world-ending relationships between the primal gods of my setting (the giant 200 mile centipede has the hots for the unknowably huge primal god of earth, go girls!!!)
Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why)
Okay choosing one is hard but I've been thinking abt him a lot so it's time to talk abt Yarrow!! Yarrow was the first developed OC that I made that wasn't either Just Me but slightly different (i.e. Roman) or tied/inspired by some sort of media (FR, other games I'd played) and like... idk!!! He's very important to me because of that but because he was the first character that I sat down and purposefully made a detailed background for, and is still one of the few characters I have that is intensely bold and has hard edges to him. He represents overcoming obstacles to me and becoming genuinely good person because you want it even if you're not perfect or 100% successful all the time, and then applying that same grace to others. Also he's fun to get clothes designed for and can be a goofy guy on the side which means I have fun with him in serious and silly situations.
Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)?
Of my developed OCs that I can think of off the top of my head, Roman and Yarrow and Sgositova can for SURE sing and do so enough that others would know about it. Roman's a tenor with the best overall vocal skill of the bunch (he can get very loud if he wants to and still sounds pretty good!), Yarrow's a high baritone who has evolved to be a little more smooth jazz than his original voice claims (somewhere in the slider between Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra), and Tova's the worst singer technically with the most gusto and she's a husky-voiced alto (sea shanties will do that). OCs that can sing decently but don't do it often are Rho (higher alto than Tova, could sing lounge jazz if she wasn't shy) and Leynth (tenor as well, beautiful voice but has trouble with breath support and holding a note without accompaniment).

Gonna pick someone I haven't mentioned as much it's time for Grey because I think his blog would be objectively funny. Grey's blog is aesthetic black and white photos of modern architecture, grandiose party aesthetics, jewelry and suits (with links to buy them that were either there or he added on his own), and advertisements for his own business products (assuming they existed). He'd tag things with a three digit code depending on type and would have everything queued and genuinely it'd be hard to determine whether his account was a personal or company account until one day he posts something notably horny or extremely emotional and then quickly covers it up with about 80 reblogs.
Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?
Roman.............................................................. just because he'd be a miserable little bastard who's nearly crying and says "who's there????" at every noise. Special mention to Dehiscence for being the monster in a horror game tho they'd do well.

I decided to do this: it is very long
1. Your first OC ever?
Something from my little pony. I don't exactly remember them.
2. Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs?
Not really, but i do obsess over the ones i've had the longest (my minecraft sona, oldest d&d character, and an old ninjago character for example.)
3. Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else?
Yes, mostly warriors characters.
4. A character you rarely talk about?
Most of my unused d&d characters. I am going to make many posts about them soon though.
5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?
FUCK. Prolly Harmony???? Because she has a story that I really want to tell. but also lunalei because of most of the same reasons but also because I feel like people would go ham on her design and backstory.
6. Two OCs of yours that look alike despite not being related?
I don't think I have two that look that much alike without being related.
7. Are your OCs part of any story or stories?
Many. I play in 2 d&d campaigns and i just daydream a lot, and also i have 4 pokemon ocs.

Delryn is my really tanky paladin with a 21 ac and 100 hp, and she's so soft and motherly it hurts.

Tayla! She's a human vampire with three of my favorite magical items (grappling hook, phantom steps, and a cloak of many fashions.) and she's got an opera sad/happy mask with one side of it cracked off, and it has a deer antler attached to it. she is verrry complicated.
11. Is there any OC of yours you could describe as a “sunshine”?
delryn. She is the mom friend of the group, and has the second least amount of trauma in her adventuring party (we have recently discovered that her parents did not just abandon her, they also died!)

Harmony AGAIN. She was meant to be a creepy fortune teller with the bard of spirits subclass! instead she's a little sad woman who can swing a sword real good! (college of swords.)

Harmony because i think she's hot.

In terms of regular damage input? Tayla, she does 2d12+2 and 15d6 damage at full, glorious power per turn.

no clue. i don't like horror games.

I almost never make truly human ocs. it's the mystique and otherworldly sense of playing somehting that isn't human and is treated as such is really nice to me.

Do I like them?: HECK YES! Genius inventor boy
5 good qualities: 1.Smart af 2.Brave 3.Thoughtful, really good at planning 4.Patient as shit- he deals with so much shit oh my god 5.Supportive badass and such an amazing brother to Katara I love him
3 Bad qualities: 1.Doubts himself too much 2.Bad at delegating, takes on too much responsibility 3.He may be the comic relief in the show but he still needs to loosen up, a huge worrywart nerd you can't change my mind.
Favourite episode: Sokka's Master, like straight off the bat they're tackling all his self esteem issues and it's what he deserves. I wish we saw him use the space sword more tbh!

Headcanons: My boy can sing. He's got a set of PIPES on him and he will not stop whistling and singing. Hasn't been among sailors bec of they're all off at war, but he still knows a few sea songs. Firelord "lived on a ship for 3 years" Zuko introduces him to the worst shanties and he gets 10 times worse. Katara is going to commit a murder, give her some silence pls!!!

seahawk/mermista, glimmer and for the 5 character ranking: adora, glimmer, catra, scorpia and perfuma?

Seahawk/Mermista
when I started shipping it if I did: I didn’t really ship it until Season 4 with the “Boys Night Out” episode. Sea Hawk’s plan to get fake-captured was dumb but it did cheer Mermista up in the end. I loved their shanty— sorry, rock remix. Seeing them fighting and singing together was what made me think these two could work.
my thoughts: This went from a “meh” ship, to a “fun” ship, to an “OH MY GOSH— FAVE” ship by the end of the series. I wish there was more moments with them but at the same time I’m glad they didn’t overuse Sea Hawk!
What makes me happy about them: At first it looks like Mermista holds Sea Hawk at arm’s-length (groaning whenever they’re in the same room, cancelling plans with Sea Hawk) but given Sea Hawk’s nature... that’s kind of understandable sometimes. There’s only so much Sea Hawk one can take. But Sea Hawk really does care about her and he makes her happy. I love how the shock of hearing him say “I love you” is enough to snap Mermista out of Prime’s control.
What makes me sad about them: I know this is the one series where we don’t see any of the M/F ships get a proper smooch, whereas the F/F ships do, and that should be celebrated, but dangit, I WANTED THEM TO KISS. Glimmer/Bow got a forehead kiss. What about the Sea Princess and her himbo sailor?
things done in fanfic that annoys me: I sadly haven’t read any fics with them but I don’t think I’d like anything where Sea Hawk is ridiculously dumb or Mermista is needlessly mean.
things I look for in fanfic: Anything hilarious and sweet
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Sea Hawk/Bow and Sea Hawk/Double Trouble are both good. Maybe Mermista/Entrapta as well?
My happily ever after for them: Mermista returns to her kingdom and restores it to her former glory while occasionally going on yacht trips with her royal consort, Sea Hawk. (He may look the part but no way is he prince material.)

what is their favorite non-sexual activity: Setting boats on fire

How I feel about this character: My poor daughter...
All the people I ship romantically with this character: GlimmAdora, Glimmer/Catra, and Glimmer/Bow is... ok.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: Glimmer & Frosta, Glimmer & Angella
My unpopular opinion about this character: I see a lot of videos about Glimmer with titles like “Glimmer annoying moments” or “Glimmer is a terrible person” or “Dammit, Glimmer!” Yes, Glimmer made a lot of bad decisions in Season 4, like shutting Adora out, activating the Heart of Etheria and trusting Shadow Weaver... (Who hasn’t been manipulated by Shadow Weaver at this point?) But Glimmer’s mother had just DIED and she had to take the throne and responsibility for the rebellion at such a young age... I wish she had been written more sympathetically during Season 4 but we’ve gotta have our friend breakup before the final act, I guess. The fact that she has flaws— even evident in Season 1– just made her more relatable for me. She made a lot of bad choices but she always thought it was best for the people she loved— whether it was clinging to Bow or trying to save Etheria.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Glimmer and Adora didn’t need to argue THAT much. I thought it would end with them pretending to bicker in front of Flutterina— that was clever! But they KEPT arguing and saying some really hurtful things to each other. They could have just separated on civil terms, with Glimmer trusting Adora and Bow to go to Beast Island. But when they don’t return, Glimmer could panic and resort to using the Heart of Etheria then. Either way, she still would’ve been abducted by Horde Prime and would need saving later!
my OTP: GlimmAdora was my absolute OTP for this series until the end of Season 4 where they had their big argument. It’s still my favourite Glimmer ship but not my favourite ship for the series as a whole now. They just care about each other SO MUCH and I was so happy when they reunited and reconciled.
my cross over ship: Currently don’t have one but I’m just thinking about how similar Glimmer and Allura from Voltron are? Both were magical space princesses who lost their parents and had to take over the throne. Maybe Glimmer can bring Allura back from whatever pocket dimension she’s stuck in along with her mother
a headcanon fact: I’d like to imagine Shadow Weaver grew to care for Glimmer just a little bit because of how much Glimmer reminds her of Micah. (How OLD even is Shadow Weaver?) Doesn’t mean SW wasn’t a manipulative witch but I like conflicted villains so...

What are some of your favorite non-Gorillaz 2doc songs? Besides the one you're planning for 2doc week ofc~ Were there any runner ups? Or favorite songs for the other characters or pairs you like?
This is so embarrassing lmao--I don’t have a ton of songs I associate with 2doc outside of Gorillaz songs 😂
I always though Castaway was a great song for them (for any OTP with a lot of baggage, really) because the two verses tell a dual story of “you’re better off without me” and “I can’t live without you.” It’s also just a stunning song and I love to imagine them each singing a verse and then harmonizing together (in a universe where Murdoc can sing haha).
And I think it’s simply too sappy for me to use for 2doc Week or put into a fic...but I will forever imagine For My Lady as a song Murdoc would drunkenly sing for 2D on the rare but precious good nights they had on Plastic Beach. “Give it freely...and completely....for my 2D.” I mean, Moody Blues is just a band that has a song for every mood, but that song hits so hard for Murdoc’s nautical character theme! It’s literally a sea shanty <3
Also if you’re not thinking of 2doc when you listen to Bedroom Hymns, I don’t know what you’re thinking about. It’s a good one too, and rather sexy!
Other songs for Gorillaz ships...well, Led Zeppelin I is a whole Russdoc album, and Dazed and Confused is the song I turn to when I think of a Phase 1 Murdoc seducing Russel and getting under his skin.
Lastly...I’ve lowkey been a Nuace fan since Ace joined the scene, and you cannot convince me that she hasn’t sung American Boy to him at least once cuz they’re just that CUTE!

You absolute meanie.
Okay, cos I’m trying and struggling to write a scene with this one for Oh God I’m Awful rn, let’s go with PIKE.
How I feel about this character
Pike is a cinnamon roll with a core of fight me and I really love that? Like. Okay, outside of Percy and the twins and at times Keyleth my depth of attention for the other VM characters is... not much, but there are moments when Pike says or does things and you remember Oh. Yeah. She grew up with Grog.
Pike seems like a cinnamon roll, literal angel and she can be that at times - she loves her friends, she cares about her friends and she firmly believes in the power of goodness and helping others. But she has a vicious streak. She has an angry streak. She is a tiny itty bitty gnome who partially grew up around goliath barbarian Grog Strongjaw - is it so surprising she has a core of anger herself?
She threatens a god for sake of Vax. She’s the conduit for so many of the party’s resurrections. Her strength comes from somewhere and it’s not solely her belief in the power of good - though that’s certainly a part of it - it is also an angry refusal to see evil have power. To see bad things and just let them stand. At times that anger can pull her towards more questionable things (Underdark arc) but that is such a human thing. It’s such a very real and realistic character note and just like some of the somewhat incongruous aspects of the other members of VM it makes her feel so much more real.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
I... don’t ship anyone with her? I suppose on the basis that when I don’t have a ship preference I default to canon, I guess I ship Scanlan with her, except that kind of as the Campaign wrap-up notes, Scanlan and Pike would not have really worked out well for most if not all of the stream. So when it comes to romantic ships, I’m neutral. No preference, no ships.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
GROG. Pike and Grog as battle buddies is the cutest fucking thing, okay. Grog carrying Pike into battle is the best damn thing, okay. Grog and Pike being basically foster siblings and you kind of wonder at it for a while until you realise that Pike can have just as much SMASH energy as Grog and it’s SO GOOD.
My unpopular opinion about this character
I am not deep enough in the fandom to know what counts as an unpopular opinion but I do think that she’s at times hm. Ignored because she seems so fundamentally good and there’s kind of a dismissiveness towards the character? Plenty seem to think that she’s boringly good or that because Ashley wasn’t there for so much of it the character lacks depth but honestly Pike has depths and nuance and both fandom and the rest of VM kind of pedestal her some. Pike is flawed and messy and interesting and I don’t understand her half as much as I’d like but I’d be a liar to say that Ashley gave her no nuance whatsoever.
Pike has a lot of nuance and I don’t think that’s appreciated enough.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Ashley revealed who Pike’s longstanding crush had been during Campaign wrap-ups. While I know that likely nowt would ever have come of it part of me is really damn curious to see any part of it being revealed prior to The Things That Mean Nowt Would Come Of It and how that’d play out.
It’d be awkward and probably emotionally painful but I kind of really want to know.

OK THIS QUESTION IS SO FUNNY CAUSE LIKE. i dont use this character anymore but. i literally stole my first oc. when i was very young (like 9 years old this was like over a decade ago) i was obsessed w this one youtube animator called superturtlethefirst who had an oc that was a gray cat named sasha, and they made an amv w that character to bring me to life by evanescence where she got possesed by some demon and Did A Murder. and i stole that oc sdkgjdslkgjsdgjkkdsjglkdsglkdsgldsghds (also superturtlethefirst’s channel is still up but be careful if u go there some of the videos have the r slur in the title....its that old)

The entire pirate crew, which molly is in, probably sings a LOT of sea shanties and drinking songs. Malcolm’s voice claim is Ben Folds and i came up with an au of an au with him after listening to Rockin The Suburbs, + he’s a shitty white boy garage band singer in that au. Thuccopith’s voice claim is fucking HEXXUS so. YAKNOW. My actual Harper OTP, beyond any question of a doubt, is Harper/self-respect.
What, you say that doesn’t count? That I am subverting the actual intent of your question, which was clearly designed to ferret out which actual ships in this game I have feelings about? Well, you are only partially correct.
You see, the thing is that, so far, there is not a single person in this game who I would call a OTP for/with Harper. They are all messy tangles of broken characters, most of whom would only end up hurting each other as matters stand at present. Harper needs to be loved, and deserves to be loved, but I don’t think he can accept that at the moment. Not until he can love himself.
(and maybe he cannot love himself until someone makes him understand that he’s worthy of love; maybe the only way out is through someone else’s love. I can accept that, I just don’t think there’s anyone who can do that in a way he’ll understand right now [at least, in a romantic sense; Katy is doing her damnedest to get her love through to her brother-dad, and she’s not entirely alone])
nOTP
So, hand in hand with that, have my list of nOTPs (made up of a list of the top possible ships) and why.
Harper/Cort. I think I am alone in not shipping this. There’s just so much hurt in their history, and it’s almost always made me a little uncomfortable right from the start of SS. Taliesin seems so dependent on Cort, and so desperately, dangerously in love with him; Cort seems to take everything Taliesin gives him and encourage him to give more, without ever giving back what Taliesin actually needs. I know Taliesin would probably be dead without him, that the sacrifices Cort has made to be with Taliesin are not insignificant, that it’s not really as one-sided as it looks to me.
I think, in the end, I cannot forgive him for taking Taliesin’s love, even asking him to affirm it again and again, and never saying those words in return. He knew - has always known - how much Taliesin longs to be loved, and that Taliesin had nobody else. Also he dumped a half-dead Taliesin on the steps of a brothel and left him there without a word.
It’s not impossible that they could work, I suppose. I would want to see Cort speaking honestly about his choices, the things he has always chosen over Taliesin, and making the decision, this time, to put Taliesin first in his life - or, at least, a lot closer to it. I would want to see Harper strong enough in himself not to need Cort - to be able to stand on his own and then choose to love.
Harper/Vigo. I like a lot of the things about the way they interact - Vigo’s absolute insistence on Harper’s choice in what’s between them, his unerring gentleness, his generosity of heart. I like that Harper can be honest with him, can talk to him in a way he hasn’t talked to anyone else. In the end, though, I think Vigo is too settled in his place and in himself for them to be anything more than what they are. He gives, endlessly and easily, but there’s no place where Harper can matter in his life.
Harper/Khem. I have to talk about it. They’ve been vaguely teased as a possible who-knows-what for a very long time. He flirts, he reaches out, he saves her life, he calls out for her when he has no idea what’s going on. She obsesses, she pokes and pries, she tells him things about her life she’s told nobody else. They fundamentally do not understand each other but are trying their hearts out. They can, and have, hurt each other very badly. When they’re on the same page they are formidable. When they’re at odds, things are… not great.
Harper, as previously mentioned, is not in the best place for a relationship right now and desperately needs to be loved. Khem may be essentially unable to have a relationship - paranoia, touch-aversion, and a very skewed perspective on reality, just to begin with - and, even now, is struggling to accept how she feels and what she’s supposed to do about it. There is something there on Khem’s side, but I’m not sure yet exactly what or how it might eventually be expressed. I think they’d both have a lot of growth to do before they could be ready for a relationship - and that’s assuming that both of them would even want one.
(there is a part of me that goes but… maaaayyybe… at this one. More on this in another post)

1. What colours do you associate with your WIP?
The Vennadore Volumes (Already Introduced and In Progress) - Blues, Greens, and Purples in general. Just depends on what volume we are speaking about. Blues and greens for the first volume for sure because of the the whole pirate thing. :)
The Aeonian Chronicles (coming soon) - Black, White, and Gold. It captures the aesthetic of the gods I have in my head and they play a huge part in this upcoming series.
Untitled Series Name (Coming Soon) - Soft Pink and Navy Blue. This is solely based on another dream I had. Just like the one above except WAY different.
2. Summarise the beginning of your WIP in three to five words
I’ll be answering this for the WIP that I’ve actually started writing for lmao: Farmer’s daughter living provincial life.
3. What character do you like writing about the most ?
Adelaide... OR Octavia. I haven’t gotten the hang of writing Eponia or any of her companions just yet. I’ve had Adelaide and Octavia for a WHILE which is why it’s easier and why I enjoy them a lot more.
4. Did your plot ever make any major deviations from what you originally planned ?
Well... I did have a completely different idea for where I wanted to go with Eponia’s story, but she decided she didn’t like that and took a life of her own and ran in a completely different direction, which is why I’m re-plotting her story. (Thank god I haven’t written too many scenes that would pertain to the previous plot idea)
5. Do you listen to music while writing? If you do, what kind?
I DO. I listen to anything honestly. Right now I’m listening to my playlist titled “Got the runs?” and it’s full of energetic music that would help with cardio. And it hypes me up to write more. ^__^
6. Favourite animals of your main characters !
.... I don’t have any pets or animals planned out D: They’ll probably will be written in but I’m just so focused on making sure that the characters get to where I want them. And then maybe fluff it up a bit and include some animal companions or familiars.
7. What was the inspiration behind your current WIP?
For the Vennadore Volumes, I did HELLA world building because it was originally for text-based roleplay for friends and other members of a dying community. And one of my friends said that I should make it into a series and include the storylines that happen within this world that I created. That’s when I was inspired to start on this WIP. And start with a story that hasn’t been RPed out yet. And then start with separate stories that all tie in together somehow.
8. Which author would you compare your writing style to?
Uhhhhhh.... I’m not exactly sure and I’m afraid to answer this question cos I’m not sure what my style is like compared to a published author. 👀👀👀 Cos I am but a worm.

If singing counts, then Finnick can sing and his voice is like an angel’s and might be the reason why Eponia likes him A LOT. (And cos he’s unusually attractive for a pirate lol)

1. What are some influences for your WIP?
For world building: definitely Tolkien and GRRM. Kinda a mash of the two with my own twist to it all. Which is why Vennadore is so massive. But for writing, I’m not sure.
2. Is there a writer or someone you would like to collab with? Or maybe even do a crossover with?
Not off the top of my head, no. But I’m pretty solitary when it comes to writing. And I’m terrified of sharing my ideas with another person if I do have to collab with them.
But I really do enjoy Libba Bray since I’ve read her Gemma Doyle trilogy at least five times, so I wouldn’t mind collabing with her.
3. What are some facts about the world you’ve created that you’d like to share but can’t seem to quite fit into the story yet?
Lore stories about the races of Vennadore. Mostly because I haven’t gotten there yet. I don’t know if there aren’t any facts I haven’t shared on my world page.
4. What are you most excited about sharing with your WIP?
Anything Adelaide related. She’s my baby and I can’t wait to write more on her story.
5. What are your OCs favorite genres of music?
Eponia: Either something soft with a soprano voice or an energetic dance instrumental

Finnick would go find Eponia cos REASONS. Alarik says “let it be”. Isolah and Solandis would probs get the crew together and form a search party while Solandis informs Ep’s family that she has been kidnapped but they are going to find her. Eponia is like “Uggggh, not again.” and makes plans to escape and go back to her original “captors” or her family back home if given the chance.

Eponia wouldn’t fit in anywhere, so she would be considered the outsider. So the outsider clique. Or the new-kid club. But she tries to be nice to everyone, despite her attitude problem.

Mmmmm... No one has told a joke yet and none of them are keen to tell me. So I’m going to say Alarik because he’s pretty crude. So I would imagine his jokes would just as bad, but somehow funny???

The early riser would be Isolah. She is the captain of course. Eponia however despises waking up, she loves sleep too much.

There’s a whole different time system for Vennadore that somewhat resembles our own, and also has it’s own history that could repeat itself. And to show how time progresses, it is shown and explained (hopefully well by me lmao).

So far in the first volume, three. Home, Markets, Ship. And since Vennadore is massive, there is LOADS more to come.

1. What’s the first book you remember reading?
Do you know about the Mary-Kate and Ashley mystery books???? I remember those. And Goosebumps. Hell yeah.
2. Have you ever invented a language for a piece of writing?
YES. It’s the Untouchable Language or the mother-tongue of the Rah’al people. I only have some specific words but that’s it so far.
3. Describe your approach to worldbuilding.
When I was building Vennadore, I looked up questions to answer when building a fantasy world, that got me started. General stuff like population and different sections of the world. Then delved into specifics like races and their customs.

5. What type of villain do you most hate?
A villain that gives you no reason to hate them. I feel like there needs to be a reason to hate them. Like how I hate Joffrey in GoT (cos he’s a punk).
6. Do you prefer to type or write longhand or something else?
I prefer to write longhand, otherwise I wouldn’t know what I was trying to say when I revisit my journal.
7. How do you motivate yourself?
I put on some hype music and do a little dance while I write. It helps since I spend a lot of time just sitting there thinking.
8. Opinion on nanowrimo?
I’ve never tried, and I’m honestly terrified cos I feel like I wouldn’t make the goal I would set for myself. But I’m happy that it works well for other writers.
9. Top 3 songs on your writing playlist?
I don’t really have a writing playlist, just whichever playlist I decide to write to whether it’s “Mood,” “Got the Runs,” or “Chill.”
10. How do you come up with your characters’ appearances?
I search for face claims eternally on pinterest until something screams at me that has that character’s vibe.
11. Do you write your scenes chronologically?
Never. My thoughts are way too scattered to make them do the chronological thing.

I got tagged by @unwriter-sc for this UNBELIEVABLY long ask thing and I have no idea if I will be able to complete it but what I’m gonna do is give others the burden to do it as well bc I’m evil :3

1. Your first OC ever?
so I actually got asked this question already BUT I now found an even earlier one: It was for a werewolf self-insert thing when I was like 10 and the OC was like this girl who lived alone but had to find a mate at this big mate-finding-thing and then she does but her mate is like 26 or something and she’s only 14 and stuff stuff I didn’t write beyond that. And she also has no charahub page so yeah xD no idea what I named her.
2. Do you have a personal favorite among your OCs?
my favorite OC is probably Avaria at the moment but I love all of them equally so yeah xD but she’S kinda the most me and it’s just self-indulgent “I wanna go to Hogwarts” fanfiction with her xD
3. Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else?
No, I sadly haven’t but I would love to :) if somebody wants to make a character on charahub or somewhere and send them to me with a prompt or something I’ll probably eagerly write something ^^
4. A character you rarely talk about?
I talk about all of my characters normally. Well, with TWATS (let’s do this I’m not writing that long ass name all the time) I have so many I haven’t even gotten some really into the story sooo :/ no one in particular
5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?
Ralaya because that brings attention to TWATS (that’s it. the witch amongst the stars is now named TWATS) and stuff xD

Ralaya and Avaria if you go by faces. And there not just not related, but not even in the same universe xD

I make OCs for stories so ALL OF EM are in a way. even if I never write on their stories xD

Avaria likes to sing to the crows. Mostly folk songs and sea shanties but sometimes there is a bit of “Hadestown” or “Hamilton” in there ^^

uhhh ... most artistic probably Khatar, but more in an “oh I can do this robbery very beautifully”-way than an “I wanna draw”-way

in storym Chesy is very often seen as a demon and as bad bc she’s a mutant but she’s actually sunshine in person.

Avaria, because we would probably get along INSTANTLY also i wanna meet a witch

Avaria. She’s very much modeled after me (where I like to be blabla) also her whole family is like my father’s side of the family, with names and personallities and all xD

Ralaya, because once she’s so detached from time she doesn’t really understand death (think Legolas in LOTR when Boromir dies). also her powers once she actually uses them are ENORMES. but she is held in place by her own moral codes and the stars in a way.

Mmm I'm going to go with someone other than the usual suspects. Let's do James Norrington aaaand Minerva McGonagall! (and what the hell, Jack Rackham too)

1: sexuality headcanon: Some form of unidentified queer that largely corresponds with how I viewed my own sexuality at the time the 2nd and 3rd films came out. Like an ‘I figured straight but then what is this feeling that’s happening currently?’ type deal.2: otp: Sparrington. 3: brotp: Norrington & Elizabeth maybe?4: notp: Norrington/death.5: first headcanon that pops into my head: He’s really, really good at sea shanties. He mostly stopped singing them when he became an officer, because propriety, but he still knows them all and hums them from time to time and his men would sometimes get him to sing one after a drink or two.6: favorite line from this character: “One good deed is not enough to redeem a man of a lifetime of wickedness.”7: one way in which I relate to this character: I was also attracted to Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann.8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: That drunken fight picking in the 2nd film. Son, you’re a mess.9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Problematic cinnamon roll? Neither? I’m not sure either label really fits Norrington.
Minerva McGonagall
1: sexuality headcanon: Pretty ace, I think. 2: otp: McGonagall/some goddamn peace.3: brotp: McGonagall & Dumbledore.4: notp: Not sure I can think of one.5: first headcanon that pops into my head: I love all of those silly Marauder headcanons. Like Sirius and James taking it in turns to ask her to be their valentine in more and more outlandish ways every year, and she pretends it’s annoying (it is) and she gives them detention (because they broke at least 3 different school rules each time), but secretly she enjoys it, because she loves those infuriating, clever boys.6: favorite line from this character: “Have a biscuit, Potter.”7: one way in which I relate to this character: I find spite to be a powerful motivator too. (‘Potter,’ she said in ringing tones, ‘I will assist you to become an Auror if it is the last thing I do! If I have to coach you nightly, I will make sure you achieve the required results!’)8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: Literally nothing. She’s a badass and I love her.9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Just a fave. She’s amazing.
Jacques Rackham
1: sexuality headcanon: Dude’s bi and he just doesn’t know it. He was so in love with Chaz. He and Silver really should’ve talked more, because they both might’ve figured some shit out.2: otp: Jackanne. I’m not putting them as a brotp, because that doesn’t do what they have justice.3: brotp: The criminally under-explored Jack & Silver.4: notp: Is Jack/Woodes a thing? Because no.5: first headcanon that pops into my head: I love Schmitz’s headcanon about how Jack probably spent time in the Navy and adopted that officer-ish accent deliberately. And I love the other implication from that which is that baby Jack had a Leeds accent (whatever that sounded like back then).6: favorite line from this character: That is almost impossible. Damn. Maybe all of his ending monologue, because it kills me.7: one way in which I relate to this character: I’m also awkward as fuck and nowhere near as cool as I try to be.8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: His pretentiousness. But I love it too. Also his terrible fighting skills.9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave? Probably a problematic fave. Aren’t they all in Black Sails?
