– Overall opinion of them

I have spent so much time rotating this cube in my mind. I have seen people come out of the woodwork saying they liked him after The New War and scoffed, because I know they had once despised him. I am ride or die for this glitchy mess. I want an arc where he gets to face his past and chooses to be kind anyway.

– Gender/sexuality headcanons

Ordan was cisgender male, pansexual and demiromantic; Ordis maintains the romantic side of this but is technically agender and asexual due to, y'know, not having a body and being literally incapable of having those feelings.

– Favorite moment in canon

The Limbo Theorem just for him fanboying, standing up against Simaris at the end of New Strange, the entirety of Octavia's Anthem, and, of course, don't sweat it.

– Favorite moment in a fanwork

He doesn't appear nearly enough in fanwork (at least, not without a certain really questionable ship), but I recently went digging and found A Glitch from the Void which I really liked overall because it actually brought up the fact that Ordis and the Tenno are pretty similar in certain ways--Orokin weapons used, abused, and thrown away. I also just in general like the way heartslogos portrays him in this series.

– Favorite line, in canon or otherwise

Oh god that's hard. There's the particularly funny ones ("gun, GUN, GUN", "I've never seen a place so MAGICAL--unique", "WHO'S IN CONTROL NOW, SUCKERS?", and then the whole exchange with the Lotus in War Within where he's listing off all the Grineer security measures and finishes with essentially "yes, my plan is best"). And then there's moments. "I am not that person, I am a cephalon."/"I make new memories."

I can't pick a favorite line from the fragments because the whole thing is basically poetry.

– Characters I love seeing them interact with

He doesn't interact with Cephalon Cy at all aside from vague implications from Cy and we were absolutely robbed. Give me the Tenno's two robot dads low-key sassing each other for not doing the dad thing right. Also would've loved to have Ordis say something about Umbra considering the similarities in what happened to them, but that's a pipe dream.

– Last thing before sleeping headcanons

As detailed below, Ordis doesn't really sleep. But when he does plan to undergo maintenance, he always checks all the ship systems two, three, four times to make sure they're running optimally and nothing will break without him directly overseeing it, and needs assurance that the Operator will not try to leave while he's offline (not that they really can). He does spend a bit of time in his own datascape disconnected from most of the ship sensors and the weave before shutting down. The quiet is...refreshing, sometimes--and when he was human he had a habit of very long walks before bed.

– Sleeping habits headcanons

Ordis does not sleep, but he does need to shut down extraneous systems like his own consciousness to purge junk data, lower his core's temperature, and generally sort through information rather like a human brain has to. He usually does this every three Earth days, and stays offline for about four hours or so (except for the times where he goes a bit too far into his own mind and requires a system restore, which leaves him unconscious for minutes but disoriented for much longer). He can be awoken from this state by an emergency notification or somebody messing about with his internal systems, but he can also carry on like this indefinitely--most recently, he remained dormant for five years during the New War.

– First thing after waking up headcanons

Ordis immediately reconnects himself to all sensors, leading to a few nanoseconds of readjustment where he can't really process any of that data. The Operator's vitals still remaining nominal are enough to assuage his own fears, and then he checks over vital systems, then extraneous ones (including reluctantly the incubator, he doesn't know what he'd do with himself if he let that stupid horrible smelly mutt die). He'll keep an eye on the star chart and, when the Tenno gets up, he'll immediately ask them about their plans for the day.

– Favorite locations headcanon

Ordis appreciates being among the stars in general--looking out, there's this scandalous shard of pride at his own freedom, even as restrained as he is. He has made it off of that godforsaken Orokin moon and he can go anywhere in the system without having to stow away on a ship and no Orokin can stop him. But he feels most comfortable in orbit around Mars. That had been home once, after all.

day one : childhood 

it’s a safe bet to say that zselyke came from the m,agyars; but her reputation was not known to be the kindest of the bunch. in fact in j,ordanes’ gretica (551) there was mentions that the m,agyars sole purpose in life was to kill and to fight. zselyke was a child of two, she had a twin brother. she was taken by the hands of an elder man known as magna hungaria; somehow, he felt a connection to the twins; knowing well-enough that they were their heirs. sadly, following the tales of the creation of h,ungary -- only one of them could be heir. regardless, he trained both of them as equal; following the tradition of wounding both children on the face, to ensure they can endure pain before being nourished. it explains why zselyke has faint slashes on her face to this day. 

she was destruction in the flesh; zselyke feared nothing when she was a child ! all she knew was to destroy, steal, and kill -- she wanted to be someone even if it meant she was hated. as a child, zs was sneaky and mischievous always trying to find someone to bully; she busied herself to become stronger as she knew that one day she had to face her sibling -- rumors say the m,agyars drank the blood of their enemy, but zselyke remembers none of it. 

her childhood came to an end in 955 when the g,ermans defeated them; such a defeat, left the now h,ungarians to settle down, accept c,hristianity, and establishing a kingdom.

Crack Fortuna Theory

Me and @turbuggy we're thinking and we came up with something the other night regarding Biz.

Consider for a moment:

We don't actually know where Biz is from, or how old he is, or anything. He's not from Fortuna; his dialogue treats them as separate from himself, and even Eudico says she doesn't know where he's from.

Now, people in Warframe can live a pretty long time (unless you're Grineer but let's assume Biz is more akin to Corpus for the argument's sake). Biz definitely has knowledge of Orokin era artifacts and animals most others don't. It's possible he was actually alive during the Orokin era.

Some more of Biz's dialogue also implies he was a mercenary at one point, where he talks about being devoted to the "eradication of life".

What if he was a mercenary during the Orokin era itself?

What if Biz actually knew Ordan Karris, and possibly even served under him?

I like to accept this as my crack headcanon now and just constantly imagine Biz hearing Ordis glitch one day and just flipping out because ORDAN?! ORDAN IS THAT YOU?!

Ordis Headcanon

What if with every Cephalon Fragment that you recover Ordis changes? You’re basically bringing the fragments back to the codex inside the Orbiter every time you scan. And the Orbiter is Ordis’ “body” so...essentially:

You are returning his repressed memories to him.

When you listen to the fragments’ hidden transmissions that he recorded, doesn’t Ordis notice? He comments when you interact with the arsenal and the mod station, so why wouldn’t he know what’s up when you’re messing around in the codex?��

What if, as you uncover more and more of the fragments, the other voice that always interrupts him begins to sound LESS like an angry, cartoonishly blood-thirsty Ordis and more like Ordan Karris???

Like??????? It’s literally midnight am I missing something important here?

How would Ordis react to the Operator uncovering something that he explicitly doesn’t want them to know? How would the Operator react to knowing it? Even though Hunhow straight up name drops Ordan Karris, the Beast of the Bones in the Octavia’s Anthem quest your Operator doesn’t react but Ordis CLEARLY remembers, since he tries to deny being that person. The memories aren’t completely gone but its clear he is repressing them, or at least making sure we don’t know.

But what if, hypothetically, the player has found every single fragment? What if they already know?

I feel like maybe we are supposed to separate gameplay from story but I ALSO feel like it could be really nicely integrated this way, like you unlock a bonus quest centered around Ordis once you 100% the Cephalon Fragments.

There are so many stories to write and stuff to explore centered around this one headcanon. I am confused and I have many questions.

Headcanon no.i-stopped-counting: Ordan Karris has a knack for narration and children just love him. Whenever he returns home after Orokin dismiss him and others till the day they need mercenaries again, children swarm over him and ask him to tell them stories about things he has seen while he was away (kids being kids!). And you bet he accepts and does that. He always makes sure to slip a story about an Eidolon or something. Mothers are grateful for having their children calm for once in a while

Here is the Promised Ordan Karris Headcanon!

Sorry it took a while.

- First of all i don't think Ordan is a actual psychopath. He was terminally ill and hated the Orokin. So his efforts could be seen as psychopathic but i think it was distress.

- When Ordan meets the Operator he isn't friendly but outright hostile. He knew about the Zariman ten-zero incident and was more than happy that he never met one of the "devil children"

- Until now that is.

- Even if the Operator shows interest in a relationship with Ordan he would deny every advance.

- He is terminally ill and doesn't plan on hurting someone emotionally when he finally dies.

- That being said he still plans to murder the big Orokin bosses.

- When Ordan is tranformed into Ordis, Ballas insists on making him a orbiter Cephalon.

Cephalon Ordis / Ordan Karris - Warframe

realistic: Ordis never particularly liked the Lotus, even before she showed her true colors. He mostly followed her orders because the Tenno liked her and she was a unifying force for them, but he didn’t appreciate her secretiveness or her abandoning the Operator at the first sign of trouble. Her personality also just sort of grated on him. He hates her now, but knows the Operator still cares, so he’ll keep up the “Fauxtus” hologram for their sake.

while it may not be realistic it is hilarious: Ordan used to swear like a sailor; he learned the more refined method of speech he used when recording the fragments while he was in service of the Orokin and often had to play along with their social gymnastics. Ordis has to consistently stop himself from swearing when he glitches, as while Ordis is resolved not to use foul language around the Operator, Ordan never got the memo. And if that message to Darvo is anything to go by, that rule only applies to swearing around the Tenno themselves.

heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends: Ordan’s betrayal of the Orokin had further-reaching consequences than he considered at the time. Before Nihil did his thing, Ordan was questioned under Kuva compulsion, and gave the Orokin all the information he knew about his former clan. After he was safely out of the way, the Orokin went to Mars and slaughtered the whole clan, so no trace of either Ordan or his kin would remain to retaliate. Ordis realized this fact shortly after his first regaining his memories on Earth when he found his people had been wiped from history, and has only continued to blame himself for his shortsighted actions damning not only him, but everyone he cared for. This has left him with a lingering fear that runs deeper than programming of causing the Operator harm due to his own negligence.

unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own: While Ordis doesn’t appreciate Cy bossing him around and always nags Cy to bring the Operator home safe from Railjack missions, Cy’s take-charge military attitude, bone-dry humor, and ability to get things done is actually something that resonates with Ordis, and something he admires. He hopes to be able to come along on a Railjack mission in some capacity someday, if only for a scandalous taste of freedom he isn’t supposed to want, and...he finds Cy’s voice unreasonably attractive. “Ordan” and “pan” do rhyme, you know...

picking up at the first point of relevance, when seph learned of her husband’s total disregard for her wishes and feelings ( in his offering to bring ma/ria and her children to the under/world ) she was livid. and she was finished. when he returned, grieving openly as he was, it was to her with her things packed and a resolve to ignore whatever fate had determined for her. the earth could handle itself, and she played second to no one, mortal or divine. since that day she has not spoken her husband, nor has she offered any help in whatever struggles he might face.

instead, she’s been living quietly in a small town, running a plant nursery and offering natural remedies to the mortals there through a shop that she owns. olympus’ squabbles rarely reach her ears unless they are truly serious, and until then, if they do, she’s no desire to get involved.

Any emotion that’s too strong will cause him to rapidly lose any semblance of mental stability, and he should not be put in a position where he’s involved in combat. He needs to face his past if he wants to move on from, but his self-hatred goes far deeper than even he realizes, and he’s got a web of mental problems he’ll need to remember he has before he can even start dealing with them.

OKAY. I HAVE FIGURED OUT ORDOS WORLDBUILDING DETAILS.

There are ten months, each with one week (each week measured by 24 days, each day named after a god starting with Vita - Vitae - and ending with Mortau - Mortae. notable mentions are Tennae, Janavae, Ananae, etc.) that have 26 hours ina day

Henri was born on Mortaus, Mortae - the last day of the last month of the year, generally considered cursed because thats when the year officially dies. its celebrated as their day of the dead.

on earth he typically claims that his birthday is Halloween because thats the closest earth equivalent (last day of the tenth month that celebrates the dead in a way)
