Their moms are very close besties!! and when they had kids they also became besties fjdkdkdjd (so basically they’ve been besties since birth yes, besties since the womb even)

Valen is royalty and lowkey the black sheep of his family he’s loud, chaotic, charming and unhinged, Gideon is the same but emo kdjsjdjdksk (and shy sometimes) and later becomes the general of his armies

They basically go through their entire lives together and they’re very dependable on each other which is a huge part of their story. Valen has a magical disability that can be very dangerous to him and others and gideon is a victim of DV so they take turns taking care of each other and for a long time they were each other’s only friend

They grew really close which created feelings, they had their first kiss -which valen rejects and runs away from 💀- when they were teens for which gideon apologizes and responds to by building impenetrable emotional walls that lasts a lifetime all while valen is trying to gaslight him into believing Nothing happened fhdjskdj.

Several years of pining and clawing their way out of the depths of repression hell they Finally kiss for real and their happiness and planning for their future is definitely not cut short by a devastating incident or anything 👍

I just finished chapter 15 of my comic adaptation of The Hobbit! It is the first of our “finale” chapters, and is 20 pages long, so it’s twice as long as the chapters I usually draw, and the art has grown more detailed and elaborate. It is very exciting and I am excited to post it! Tho It did indeed take time

Chapter 14 will arrive on August 13th, and the double-sized Chapter 15 will arrive on September 13th!

Chapter 16 will tentatively arrive on November 13th, but is such a Big One I don’t think I can promise that 😂

In the meantime I may continue posting out of context drawings on this blog, but I don’t want to ‘spoil’ everything before it comes out! :D

Also this is what I mean when I say that, if I published at a “normal webcomic pace—one page per week—no one would ever ask me if I was on hiatus XD…if I split the 30 pages of these next chapters into a weekly posting schedule, I would post 1 page a week consistently for 6 months. Instead I am posting two large batch updates over the course of 2 months, which would amount to about 4 a week, because I am a very silly stubborn person.*

(*the real reason I like the large batch updates is because I enjoy updates that feel like a completed chunk of story, and when I read webcomics I think it’s easier to leave comments on ones that publish that way. It’s hard to find something to say about every single solitary page of a comic, but it’s easier to find things to say about an entire chapter, and when you know updates arent super frequent it’s easier to motivate yourself to say something. I personally am willing to accept “”less engagement””” overall if people who are invested are more likely to leave nice comments every chapter haha 😂. )

Of course, Erika! I was actually really hoping you would ask me because, as I am sure you know, I am just obsessed with Nacsele. Sorry Morgen. I love him. How could I not? He’s a total sweetheart, and him and Josele were very cute, but I am unapologetically Team Nacht all the way! I adore their deep friendship and the quick wit & banter that they share, but it's really the angst of that pairing that just elevates it for me. I mean they support each other through their trauma and grief, and then, fall in love?! Even when they believe they're too broken to ever be loved and to be happy again, they show each other that they can be. 😭 I'm going to sob. It's beautiful and is more compelling to me than I have the words to express.

I'm sure it's no secret that I am not much of a romantic, but what you may not know about me is that I do actually have some favorite love stories one of which is a movie called "Return to Me" which is about a man, Bob, who loses his wife in a tragic accident and swears off love forever, but he eventually finds healing and falls in love with the wonderful woman whose life was saved by receiving his deceased wife's heart in a heart transplant. (This is literally all established in the first 5 minutes of the movie so it’s not a spoiler, I promise). The heroine of this film, Grace, is just so incredibly sensitive to his loss and so supportive of him, and one of the main conflicts of the movie is that she cares about him so much that she is heartbroken to learn that even though this transplant saved her life, it caused him so much pain and suffering. The other conflict, of course, is Bob (the main man) coming to realize that even though he truly loved his wife and is always going to miss her, that doesn't mean that he can't love Grace just as much. It's real. It's beautiful, and it's so sincere that it just pulls at my heartstrings every single time. Needless to say, I have an extremely intense passion for stories about finding love after unbelievable tragedy and loss, and Nacht x Josele fit that category so well so of course I'm going to eat that up.

This pairing was just made for me to love. I mean, it also has a complicated brother relationship and they're childhood friends to lovers. Gah! It just has everything. Nacsele is just everything!

I don't think I'm even making any sense right now, but it's so, so good. I find myself just randomly thinking about them like I would with any canon character x canon character ship. I guess that just means they're canon to me. 😁

Imagine Charlie surviving till s3, finds out about the swap and rescues our Liv with Peter. After Olivia comes back he meets Peter at work and tells him to be good to Olivia as Charlie knows how deep Olivia is invested in one who she loves and especially in Peter, and also how her previous relationship(s) fail. He doesn't know Peter well enough so he wants to make sure.

Seriously though 😭 I've thought about this so often, about how different things would have been if Charlie had still been alive during season 3, especially since his alternate on the other side was the first to go all suspicious during the Switch and actively questioned Olivia trying to find out if they'd been swapped. I can definitely see him going all 'big brother' on Peter to make sure he'll treat Olivia like the queen that she is 😭

More Thoughts about Kinnporsche ep 6

After episode six I wrote: “Kinn's love language is in his words but Porsche's love language is in his actions.” Some time after that I read a fabulous post by @iffervescent about how miscommunication is being handled in the show…which seemed to contradict the conclusion I had come to. It made me stop and think about whether I had interpreted things ‘wrong’…but once my Thoughts started forming I came to a slightly different inference. I’m going to attempt to spread out those thoughts here…and you might need to bear with me. (For the sake of this post I’m treating ‘communication’ and ‘love language’ as the same thing…which might not technically be correct but I'm doing it anyway.)

So @iffervescent’s take is that (pre ep 6) Kinn communicates through his actions whereas Porsche communicates through words and therefore neither were getting what they needed from the other. (Apologies if I've butchered your amazing analysis through my summary!)

However, after ep 6, I felt that Kinn was much more open to talking honestly…much more than Porsche, who seemed to shut down a little when Kinn tried to talk about that night and his wrongdoings and then Porsche defaulted to a jokiness soon after. And since Porsche found it hard to talk (I mean, he literally faked choking at one point, symbolising how he couldn’t get his words out), he instead did a lot for Kinn, using his actions to show his care towards Kinn.

And so I thought Kinn showed his affections through his words and Porsche showed his through his actions...And Kinn (pre ep 6) may not always have the right words or say them in the right way but that’s how he wants to communicate…and therefore it’s all the more tragic for him because his position and need to be distant makes him say the opposite to what he means to Porsche...and that’s probably why he ends up only being able to show Porsche that he cares in his actions. And similarly, Porsche wants to be there for Kinn, to show him he's there for him, to do things for him, but which is made hard because Kinn doesn't let him, by removing him as his bodyguard.

But in ep 6 we see a change in both of them. They’re removed from their real lives, alone in a place of limbo where they can be free to be themselves, and we see them gradually shift into their true nature – Kinn can speak freely and openly, without his father and the pressure of The Family and his obligations within it, and Porsche can act freely and openly, on equal ground since the boss/bodyguard hierarchy is rendered obsolete (as @jemmo wrote in a comment, "them being cuffed together is giving them something else...they’re two equals, tied together, both made to cooperate and listen and be on a level playing field.")

And I think this ties into the handcuff and lighter symbolism that I (in a post) and @jemmo (in her tags) have written a bit about already…

Ep 6 was an opportunity for Kinn and Porsche to both let their inner-child play and have fun (unlike how they were both prevented from doing as children for different reasons) as well as deal with their issues and get closer to one another. Porsche was able to lead on the former - since he enjoyed teasing and playing with Kinn, to draw out Kinn’s true nature, the lighter side of him – and Kinn led on the latter – keeping them handcuffed together unnecessarily because he needed this time with Porsche for them to connect, to understand one another, to form a stronger attachment. Here’s what @jemmo said on this:

So in giving in to each other, they get closer and feel more comfortable in being themselves, and therefore are able to revert to their true nature – Kinn can talk openly and Porsche can act as he wants.

BUT this doesn’t quite solve the communication issue…because having thought about it I don’t think it’s as clear cut as one uses words whilst the other uses actions. I think it’s a four-way mesh…and I’ll try to explain succinctly.

I think both Kinn and Porsche show love and communication with their actions but they both also need to hear communication and love through words. Which makes it tricky because they’re both basically offering the same (or trying to and being blocked by different obstacles) and not receiving what they need (again for different reasons).

I think ep 6 opened the way for them to both realise this - in that isolated place, and helped by their growing closeness, Kinn was able to give Porsche the words he needed to hear and in turn this helped Porsche reciprocate…to some extent. Kinn, already in the habit of showing his care of Porsche through his actions, was still able to do things for Porsche (or at least tried with the fire and fishing!), and Porsche, free to be himself, was able to also finally do things for Kinn (like show him how to fish!).

Now, I said ‘to some extent’ there because I think it’s still harder for Porsche to speak honestly than it is for Kinn and I think this imbalance will be the cause of some continued miscommunication between them. The small exchange in ep 6 they have about 'doubts' has stuck with me… Kinn says to Porsche, “Then, from now on, there won’t be any doubts between us anymore,” after which Porsche agrees but looks nervous or uncomfortable about it. Kinn then frowns and I wonder if there’s a small part of him (his insecurities) that maybe doesn’t believe (i.e. trust) Porsche is being genuine in his agreement (and the thing is Porsche probably was but was just feeling increasingly awkward about having to speak honestly). And it makes me think of that scene we haven’t seen yet where Porsche slaps Kinn and tells him, “You never trust me,” and it just makes me wonder if this will be a miscommunication issue grown from this small exchange in ep 6 - Kinn needed to hear a stronger affirmation from Porsche which he didn't get and his insecurities will only grow until he gets it.

Anyway, I’m not sure if I’ve been clear with any of this…but if it sets off other Thoughts or interpretations in people then it’s been at least worth it. I think this is a fascinating dynamic, especially because there are so many external factors preventing Kinn and Porsche from being genuine and true to themselves and each other, and I can’t wait to see what will happen between them. How will they go back to the Family compound and act, knowing what they know about each other and their feelings?…even if they don’t actually see each other (because Porsche is with Vegas and Kinn is recovering) it's bound to affect how they interact with everyone.

tell me about the body hair hcs you got

*cracks knuckles* okay so:

Marshall: in my mind that man is hairy af. I wish I could say why I think this but at this point I can't remember. I just heavily think he should be hairy. I hate that no one is that hairy in game grrrr. Hairy chest, hairy back, you name it. Fun fact: he grows a beard on random occasions and keeps it well groomed and he genuinely looks better. For some reason he always goes back to that dang 'mustache' though.

Aldridge: not a lot of body hair. Certainly has some noticeable chest hair, but nothing to write home about. He can't even grow that thick of facial hair, (he tried in his college years and decided against it.) He would like to be hairier since that's like very masculine in his eyes. But there's nothing he can do about it *shrugs* He has a bit of back hair but his chest and part of his belly is where it's most noticeable.

Donovan: the game gives him an odd layering of of chest hair that is only on his pecks, and a little above that on his chest. He doesn't look like he'd have a bunch to me. I do love the idea of him just having this very different pattern of chest hair, it makes sense that for some reason that's how his chest decided to grow hair in. Back in his agency days, he and Marshall had to do a job together and Marshall would not stop teasing him about it, when he got a glimpse. Has a noticeable amount of back hair. It's not like as odd as his chest. Where you'd expect it.

Lincoln: He should have had more chest hair. They let us see him shirtless and they give him barely any. It's wrong. He should at least have a nice layer of chest hair. A little more than he has since he can grow a nice thick beard, I'm thinking he should have a bit hairy of a chest/back. He was very excited when his chest hair started coming in aha.

Nicki: My girl does not shave. She decided sometime in her teens that was a waste of time. Danny never teased her too much for it but Burke hated it. He definitely made comments about it. Nicki never let this get her down and never let her body hair stop her from wearing any sort of outfit. She's not ashamed of something that grows naturally on her body.

Roxy: She’s the same way!!!! She doesn't shave, hasn't shaved. Does her own thing, and she's super cool doing it. She's going to wear whatever she wants no matter what looks she might get because people are mad she's hairy, that's their problem. Luckily, I don't think she'd get too much shit.

Since I'm on a soap box, I'm going to use this as a chance to mention some other characters from the other games.

Tommy Angelo: why did they not have that man be hairy? He is Italian. Italians are known to be hairy. They gave him a boxing outfit, only to show us nothing. He can be the handsome man he is and still have body hair. I don't know why he didn't have any. Many people have pointed out that he should have at least at a bit of chest hair. It's sick and twisted that he doesn't. Tommy gives me vibes that he would have a thick little layering across his pecks and a bit on his belly. Definitely some on his back. The amount? I'm not leaning any one way in particular, they should have given him some body hair to begin with aha.

Sam Trapani: he would be hairy. My brain is telling me that this man has some thick chest hair, definitely a good amount of back hair. Probably a nice bit of belly hair too. I think Sam is one of the most handsome characters in the franchise, and I am a firm believer that you can still be handsome with body hair because there's nothing wrong with it.

Man this has already been too long😅😅😅😅 I'm sure this is a little incoherent because I've never vocalized this before and I woke up hypomanic BUT I'm in a great mood and I think that's why I ended up saying *so* much. But thank you for the ask!!!! I love answering stuff like this aha.

I don’t know why, but I’m becoming very against actors in BL pairing up multiple times, and specifically against this in gmmtv actors and shows (not for like sequels but for new things). Before I loved seeing the same actors playing new dynamics (not just in BL).

And I still think that’s fun. But maybe the more I know about the BL industry, I just feel like it’s intentionally fanning the flames of obsessed (in a bad way) fans who think these actors are dating. Not to say that that would be impossible. People who work together do sometimes date. But certainly not every onscreen couple is dating off screen. And I don’t like the idea of the actors having to pretend or not have to hide if they are dating someone else. And it just seems insidious that management companies stop actors from dating whoever they want, at least in public, but want fans to think they’re dating their coworker. And that’s totally fine if you want to ship real people or if you wonder if or think they are dating irl. That’s not just a BL thing. That’s basically all of celebrity. As long as you’re not trying tear down real people for not believing the same or harassing the actors if they show that they aren’t dating the person you want them to or making it weird for the actors.

And not to completely change my line of thinking, but maybe I’m just greedy for new on screen pairs? I don’t know. I just know that I wasn’t planning to watch Moonlight Chicken because I’ve learned that I can’t handle stories that mostly revolve around cheating. But the idea of that show throwing First and Khao’s characters together because they were a couple in The Eclipse and have another upcoming project together irks me. I just really don’t like the idea of First’s character getting cheated on and then throwing him with the character who’s in love with someone else. That just feels like a betrayal of their hurt. (Check me making up this whole story based on the pilot trailer from like a year ago 👀 oops. I haven’t even seen the official trailer). Anyway. They should throw everyone for a loop and have Mix’s and First’s characters reconcile and stay together. Or give First and Mix a show. And for the love of God, when will Khao and Earth get to play a couple? And not to be hypocritical within a single post, but I would also would love Earth and White to have another show together 🥺 Or have a spin off of Theory of Love. (And for that matter, when will White get to be the main character again?) Maybe I just like time between when actors work together. Then it feels like a bonus reunion instead of like, these two can only work together now. Would also love Neo and Phuwin to play a couple again (or a spin off for their characters in Cause You’re My Boy).

Or maybe it’s because I’m quickly becoming more of a multishipper. Like that flowers for whatever show. Not BL and I didn’t watch because of the love triangles, but through tumblr osmosis I liked Dew and Tu in that and wish they had their own show now (their beverage commercial mini show notwithstanding). Also Nanon and Jimmy would be great. Or Jimmy and Ohm. Or the actors who played the two guys who hated each other in Enchanté that i thought were in love. Or Jimmy and Drake. Or Nanon and Chimon. Chimon and Phuwin. Perth and Pond? Or maybe I just subconsciously like to be mad about ships. I don’t know. Would love to see Gun with Mond (although did he leave gmmtv? I didn’t see any new shows for him. Doesn’t matter. I still want it). Not gmmtv, but also Apo and Bible anyone? Oh, another hypocrite moment, but Tong with his costar from Second Chance the Series (I think his name is Fluke). That’s mostly because that show was so short and I want more. Or the bully in that show that’s now a bully in Never Let Me Go and the guy he bullied. I think they could play an on screen couple well. Anyway. The possibilities are endless, so why limit ourselves, is what I’m saying. Unless I personally want those actors to work together again. Then let’s go ahead and limit ourselves. It’s okay.

Okay I have enough fics and shit to write right now as it is, I currently have 4 in the works 🙃, but last night while I was trying to sleep I had a thought. I think I came up with a very baseline very bare bones idea for a possible OUAD 2.

A possible title for which I came up with was Once Upon A Kingdom OUAK if you will. And literally as I typed this out, Once Upon A Winter OUAW akskskskk and it would take place months after the events of OUAD, Chazz and Atticus are officially a couple now, and Atty takes him on a trip to see the Northern Kingdom or the Crystal Kingdom if ur in with the OUAD deep lore 👀 where he and Lexi are from and with Jay, Sy, and Hassleberry in tow, winter wonderland hijinks and capers ensue 👀

Now I have no idea what the actual greater plot would be but I really like the idea of visiting another kingdom since in the 'deep lore' there are 5 kingdoms that exist in the world, but since the Kingdom of the East was canonically destroyed by Slade and Jagger before the events of OUAD, there's still 3 other kingdoms outside the Golden Kingdom. The northern, western, and southern kingdoms if you will. The Golden Kingdom is the central kingdom. So we get to see more of the world, and open the door for more of the ensemble cast to get involved, I fully intend to include Jesse and Bastion at the very minimum if I wrote this I fully imagined a whole conversation with Jaden and Jesse last night, immortal magical fairy Jay gets to flirt with the cute human boy 👀 so I have thoughts happening ☺

Like I said I have no idea what an actual greater plot would look like yet and I have way too much to work on right now to put too much thought into it right now, but I promise babes. OUAD 2 may be on the back burner right now, but it is also very firmly on the table 😉
