Why aren’t boys and girls allowed to be friends without assumptions?

This is a question that has been at the back of my mind for quite some time now. Though we may live in a heteronormative world,other sexualities exist so this assumption that they like each other/are dating a friend of the opposite gender to them is rather ridiculous. We don’t have this assumption for same sex couples as they’re seen as "just friends" so it baffles me why only this type of friendship has this assumption as people of any gender identity can be a couple,not just opposite genders being together. In my personal experience,I’ve been given assumptions about my guy friend (who I’ll call Ry out of respect for his privacy) and how he supposedly likes me for wanting to have a catch up by having some coffee with him alone. I have known him for eight years and he definitely didn’t ask me for that reason,he clearly just wanted to catch up as I hadn’t seen him for two years at this point but according to his mother it meant he did? I’d be able to tell if he did like me as we’re very close and tell each other a lot of things so I don’t get why there was a conclusion jump at all..It’s just frustrating and made me question if I said or did anything that supported this theory,all I got in return was that he just asked how I was doing as we don’t see each other much which is NOT a sign of liking someone,it just shows he misses his friend. I do wonder if this stereotype will ever disappear or if it will be applied to the other forms of friendships and we’ll be accused of dating everyone we hang out with,if that happens then the world will have officially bullshitted enough stereotypes for dumbass people to torment others with and potentially ruin their day,which we absolutely love to happen!1!1!

Always limit yourself when it comes to interacting with an opposite sex. Sometimes, being too shy makes the opposite sex quite aggressive so there should also be times where you show that you are tough in a sense that if they start to converse with you, you give them a polite yet soul striking answer that you do not wish to have idle talks with them. When you are a part of an islamic organization where meetings are held and sisters and brothers are present, do not speak unless you are asked to and speak in a short and firm voice, lower your gaze or don’t make eye contact with any brother present. Never use emojis/emoticons when talking with a brother online. Don’t openly discuss about your life with a stranger online or at work. Don’t open a window or a chance where you make them feel it is okay to be too comfortable and freely discuss everything with you, even if it is deen related.If they ask you with a question that is answerable with a yes or no, then answer only with a yes or no, no need to explain or elaborate for this will just prolong conversations that will eventually lead to other idle talks.When someone messages you and doesn’t go straight to the point to you why he have messaged you, then block away immediately. Don’t let your curiosity get you, if there is anything, pass it on to your brother or father. Build a strong personality that will make brothers think more than twice on approaching you and be strictest on yourself. in sha Allah.

You ever noticed that in every fucking show that has ever existed, if there is a guy/girl best friend pairing, chances are they're going to fuck. And if it's Disney/Nickelodeon/or some other bullshit child program, then they'll kiss and date until the show is cancelled because that's always their last ploy to try and keep the show on the air. 

Why can't guys and girls be best friends? Why do these damn Disney shows believe that if you have a penis and your friend has a vagina, you are eventually going to date?
