friendly reminder that onlyjayus on tiktok is a racist who continues to dodge accountability. they called someone an “n word lover” because they claimed it was the meanest thing they could think of.

the meanest thing they could think of was someone liking black people.

a lot of black creators on tiktok didn’t want to give them the time of day after that, but one user, auntkaren0, reached out after onlyjayus offered to use their platform to amplify black voices and make right her wrongs.

however, onlyjayus ghosted auntkaren0, and then got angry when she tried to reach out again to try and figure out what was going on. onlyjayus used their nuerodivergency to try and excuse the fact that they didn’t answer the emails from auntkaren0, but they had enough spoons to answer emails about / post sponsored content.

and instead of apologizing to auntkaren0, they blocked her, then bragged about going to vegas to get drunk with their cousins.

plus, all of their content is literally on google. they’ve called themselves the “bill nye” of tiktok ( even though bill nye is on tiktok but that’s not the point) when all of their shit is from, like, the first website google turns up in the search results.

OnlyJayus (aka Isabella Avila) needs to be banned from TikTok. They have been caught and called out multiple times for mistreating disabled creators and creators of color. In February of 2021, Jayus was caught in a scandal due to some racist remarks by Jayus being revealed. Jayus apologized by stating they would "lift black voices" and "share their platform with creators of color", but has failed to hold up on any of their promises. Many creators have come together to get OnlyJayus off the app as they have been outed for ignoring emails and messages from content creators of color to do collaborations with them to help rectify the situation. Their problematic issues have also branched out to them making a joke about robbing disabled people and hosting rigged giveaways. Recently, it has since come out that Jayus contacted a ghostwriter to write their initial apology for them which has been taken down from their original page. Isabella has a following of 13.5 million followers on TikTok that see videos like this. Please sign the petition to help get OnlyJayus off this app and make it safer for all creators.

hey just an fyi - onlyjayus (the tiktok person in the lifehack video re: nausea, migraines, etc) is unapologetically racist & has continually reacted with aggressive language and reaching claims of ableism when people have called them out for their actions. obviously please do your own research and not just take the word of a random 3rd party on this (/gen), but i wanted to let you know in case you weren't aware! I only know a little bit of the situation myself, but everything i've seen hasn't been very good.

Just an FYI since Im also sure you don’t know about this Onlyjaus/Isabella has recently started to use they/them pronouns. 

So their racism a little while ago there was a call out about Onlyjaus being racist in the past and never really making any changes and only covering up. Thats when screenshots of their past messages to people came up in those screen shots they use the phrase “N-word lover” as well as the f slur and telling someone “I hope your family dies of cancer”. This all happened within the first few days of Black History Month. So they then posted a two part apology saying “I’m so ashamed of myself for using racist rhetoric and derogatory language to hurt others because I knew what that word meant and I understood the power behind it.” and like it doesn’t matter where you are from, how you grew up you know you don’t say the N word you know the weight behind that word.

They then went on to say “first saw the screenshots, I didn’t even think that they were real because I forgot how hateful and how angry of a person I used to be. The screenshots and the things I’ve said in the past are not a reflection of who I am today.” And the kicker that then caused a whole other down fall. 

Onlyjaus stated in these now private videos “I will be taking a step back and using my platform to give voice to Black Creators through colabs so they can educate.” 

This sparked a bunch of Onlyjaus white fans accepting the apology while a lot of Black creators (rightfully so) commented on how their apology was full of the standard bigoted youtuber apology, overly scripted, fake tears, a little guilt trippy, and doing this as optics during black history month. 

Here are two videos by two creators that I enjoy a lot taking about the apology (there are many more but here are some)

so that then brings us one of my favourite content creators and how she got involved. Black content creator AuntKaren0 Karen believes in second chances and decided to take one on OnlyJaus. Just stating this now I won’t be able to link every video but I will link to Aunt Karen’s tiktok page (she has amazing posts about better a better ally to Black people, misogynoir, deplatforming racists and more) So Aunt Karen decided to reach out to be able to help educate as well as help Onlyjaus on their road to proving that it wasn’t just words and optics. So Aunt Karen messaged and got ignored so after a while of that decided to post being ignored on tiktok and Onlyjaus blew up. Instead of just saying “sorry I missed the emails” or “I no longer want to work with you” Onlyjaus began to gaslight and blame their ADHD and mental illness on their actions, and on Onlyjaus spam side what ever you want to call it account began to post the trope of “Angry scary Black lady” about Aunt Karen, and no one was having that and only Jaus has proved they haven’t changed since calling someone and N word lover in 2016.
