Guys. I just realized one thing now.
Among the admirals, Kizaru's real name, Borsalino, is the only Western name among the other admirals' real names (Sakazuki, Kuzan, Issho, Aramaki).
The admirals are all based on Japanese actors in Japanese mob films, but Kizaru's real name is a Western mob film.

So I'm catching up on One Piece episode 1053, and while I didn't do screenshots bc lazy, and Sanji's still hot, and everything, I had this one random shower thought
So, Queen's head detaches from his body in his beast form, yes? Does it mean, he can also detach his head from his body in his human form? Bc I wanna see that

“marineford au with luffy would be very angsty” is a 100% true statement but also i think he’d get on sengoku’s nerves so much he’d just toss him out of there

So Luffy and Law reunion after two years, some totally biased thoughts...
Tumblr media
Luffy really just recognized Law right away like that, huh? After two years of not meeting at all, and barely having interacted prior to Marineford. What was the first thing he recognized that he was sure that's the guy who saved him then? (Is there something you would like to share with the class, Luffy?)
It's so funny because nothing could've prepared Law for Luffy's sheer joy when they met again. He was so genuinely happy to find Law and it's ruining Law's emo vibes.
Like damn, he built up a reputation!
Pretty much everyone else up to that point has called him cruel, ruthless and all that. Back to Marineford and Sabaody, people talked about bad rumors about him. Even when he saved Luffy, they doubted his intentions. They were so sure there must be a catch to Law's help. (There was no catch.) It's just fun to think about because here Luffy is treating him as something good that happened in his life. Poor Law couldn't handle that much positive attention.
And uhm no, trying to deflect saving someone's life from death as "nothing" or something like that wouldn't really work. Especially when Law really didn't need to risk it all like that to get Luffy out of Marineford. They barely had a connection and even a potential rivalry is hardly worth the risk. Calling it a "whim" is the most Law can call it before he starts questioning his life again. But whatever the reason is, the fact still stands that he helped Luffy... And isn't that what matters, anyways? To Luffy, at least.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Law: "We are both pirates." (we're enemies)
Luffy: ":D Okay, anyways, you saved my life."
Law !!!! He ADORES you already !! It's over !! And giving more helping hand doesn't actually help your case !!
Also more exhibits of Luffy being excited over Law that I just find so cute. The way he perked up when Law was mentioned... He likes him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He didn't say anything during Brownbeard's story until Law was mentioned, Luffy my guy.... He likes him so much, not necessarily romantic, but Luffy really just likes Law.
Law really stood no chance and asking Luffy for that alliance was the final nail to his coffin. He sealed his fate to be Luffy's super duper mega best friend FOR LIFE.

zoro who is so caught off guard by sanji’s kinder actions towards him is one of my favorite tropes. sanji crafting him specialized post workout snacks personally adjusted for him but still down to fight and call him names. he’s still the biggest asshole zoro has ever had the displeasure of knowing, and he’s horribly considerate. he’s a little confused but doesn’t reject any of sanji’s specialized treats. it’s not like sanji is fawning and doting over him like he does nami, so zoro feels like he can cross off sanji actually liking him from his list of reasons as to why sanji is acting like this. but it’s still fucking strange..
meanwhile sanji is in his kitchen wondering how zoro hasn’t taken a damn hint yet

based on @elalalune 's shuggy wonderland au!!!

"I'll do what you can't, you do what I can't" should be Sanji and Usopp's wedding vows. It should be engraved on their rings. It should be repeated back and forth from one to the other until they're old and gray and neither of them can remember who said it first. It's the perfect summary of their relationship and in this essay I will

OP antagonists usually: blunt force/sharp attacks or abilities that kill/restrain instantly
Meanwhile, Doffy.
-Ordered Vergo to kill Law in the most painful way imaginable.
-beat Law's ass, walked to him and shot him three more times when it was absolutely unnecessary, Law was already down.
- tied Law onto the heart throne wym you won't sit on a chair I kept clean for you for 13 years
- Ripped off his right arm instead of making a clean cut. It was jagged and painful. refusal to be my right-man man means you lose your own right hand
-Shot him until running out of bullets and until the Corazon symbol on Law's coat was drenched and unrecognizable. Kept trying to crush or shoot him even after Law was unconscious and sent out of the way.
-All while using lead bullets, because "nothing suits better" than using the metal that caused Law's countrymen's demise and made him suffer as a child.
Idc how powerful other antagonists are, nobody should pick a beef with Doffy ever

Okay! Hear me out! What if the reason Luffy acts all goofy and silly isn't 100% because of his devil fruit, but because of when he ate it?!?!
Like I've been kind of marinating on this thought but like, Luffy ate the Gomu-Gomu no mi when he was a young kid and his brain wasn't fully developed. So since rubber tends to always go back to its original shape/form, what if every time luffy's brain tries to grow/develop his devil fruit forces it back to the size it was when he ate his fruit. Thus causing his brain to take longer to fully develop? Thus causing him to act all carefree just like his younger self did...

✨Random sabo and dragon thoughts✨
My version of shower thoughts only happens when I’m in a car or it’s 12 am and I just lost my 37 day Duolingo streak. I’m currently on the second option so yay.
I like to think dragon and sabo went opposite ways when it came to their relationship with war and shit.
Sabo finds himself always standing and sitting in attention poses, he doesn’t flinch at violence anymore, he’s learned that his gloves make it so he can’t feel the blood, bonus points for them being compression gloves for his scars, fire and firearms don’t make him spiral anymore, ect. His normal life died the second he became second in command.
Meanwhile dragon is getting older and now with a kid to take care of. He was always a bit of a softie but after leading revolutions for so long he’s drastically less comfortable with war. He jolts at loud noises (outside of a battle field) when he used to be able to sit through anything, the feeling of blood on his hands is such as sensory overload now he scrubs the skin off his hands after battle, he cries more, becomes unstable often, ect. His life of war is on its last legs with the new generation and his age. God forbid that man took a break from freedom fighters and the revolutionary army.
So basically sabos becoming dragon, more collected. Then my guy dragon is out here reverting back to a 55 year old man child😨
(We love them though)

Something I realized about the One Piece admirals is that despite being people who should be maintaining and implementing order, they are based on characters who'd be considered "rebellious."
Tumblr media
I mean:
Akainu, Kizaru, Aokiji - based on actors known for yakuza roles
Fujitora - based on an actor who is famous for playing a gambling blind swordsman (gambling is illegal in Japan and yakuza actually came from gamblers called bakuto!)
Ryokugyu - based on an actor noted for rebel roles
I dunno if this is just a coincidence because I'm not Eichiiro Oda lol, but I can say the bad boy outlaw prince has swept me off my feet again 🤤🤤🤤

Shower Thoughts of a Delusional Girly
Sooooo---I was thinking about Buggy while taking a shower (as one does) and I was thinking more specifically about long-haired Buggy because I lovvvveee it and am having majoooor regrets about ever giving him shortish hair in my Songbird series and in anything else I have written for him.
As I was thinking about this major failure on my part, (one I am already planning on fixing because I can't live with myself lol) I was thinking about how I could maybe explain the short hair, like maybe Arlong cut it or something angsty like that, but then I had this wonderful big-brained thought--
He can't get a haircut cause of his chop-chop abilities. Cause if everything can chop off and on, then his hair can too.
This man probably hasn't been able to haircut since eating his Devil Fruit.
But now I'm thinking about how, with that line of thinking, he wouldn't be able to trim his beard---maybe he just doesn't reattach it?? Like he keeps it in a little baggie or something....but then again this is a fictional world so I am just thinking waaayyy too much into it 😂
I am probably suuuuuper late to the party about this thought but I thought I would just share it with yall cause I have no one else to tell😂
Anywwwayy, luv yall!! 🩷 🩷 🩷
(edit: it's been fixed for songbird's story at least lol)
Tumblr media
(Also why does he have better hair than me?? Like--that's what I've been trying to get my hair to look like this whole time!! ugh...not me being jealous of a fictional character 😂)

Monkey D. Luffy and Jack Sparrow are on opposite ends of the spectrum of piracy.
Jack's involvement with piracy stems mainly from it's alignment with his circumstances (being declared a pirate due to releasing the slaves that were being transported aboard the Black Pearl and his relative lack of funds) and his personal desires (adventure, money, fame, rum, etc.) and mainly wears the title when it suits him or when he can take advantage of it (correcting people that his title is "Captain" until being confronted about his debt by Davy Jones), showing knowledge of both pirate lifestyle and the consequences of said lifestyle, as well as a desire to use it to his advantage.
Luffy, on the other hand, wears the title of Pirate with exuberant pride, but never really engages in active piracy, mostly racking up a bounty on himself by associating with other pirates (his crew, Ace, Red Haired Shanks), picking fights with more infamous criminals (Crocodile, Blackbeard, Arlong), pissing off people associated with the government (Captain Morgan, Smoker, CP9), or some combination thereof (the entire Impel Down and Rescue Ace arcs).
Strangely enough, in universe, more people question Jack's validity as a pirate than Luffy's.

I do think it's funny that whenever shelter came out people debated for days whether it was really anime and what it means for something to be anime but now the one piece live action is out and everyone is just like "yeah, that's anime"
