not to start anything but! Taylor Swift’s re-recordings genuinely sound the same as her old records to me I don’t get it 😭 like I know legally why she’s doing it all over again ofc but. while her voice has somewhat matured I suppose there isn’t much of a difference aside from that. I know it’s the same songs but I was thinking that they’d sound better than the original songs? imo she’s clearly betting (correctly from what I’ve seen) that her fans will listen to “Taylor’s version” of songs out of plain support bc there isn’t really any difference at all between them except for ownership.

y/n and quinn had been together in michigan for a week now and his brothers were yet to meet her. she had met his parents a couple months before and they’ve loved her ever since. ellen treated her as if she were her own daughter. they would talk about quinn and his behavior and quinn would be in the back, getting offended. jim was like her second father. he was protective of her and was his little girl even if they weren’t blood related.

the couple were on the couch, all cozy and cuddling when they heard a car pull up outside. quinn looked down at y/n who had her eyes closed, trying to go asleep after being out that day. “babe,” quinn heard a mumble come from the girl, “they’re here.” she grumbled in response.

quinn had told her last night that they would arrive at the lake house tomorrow evening. she was half asleep when he told her so all he got from her was an “okay,” before he began to hear soft snores come from her mouth.

“quinny, let me sleep please,” y/n whispered, “i’ll meet them later.”

quinn just smiled and leaned down to kiss her temple. he rested his head on top of hers and closed his eyes, hoping to sleep as well.

unfortunately, in this household, a good nights sleep was never a thing. that was proven as the front door suddenly burst open which quinn jumped slightly at the action and caused y/n to stir in her sleep, letting out a small whine.

“honey, we’re home!” an, oh, so familiar voice announced.

quinn turned his head to the side and peaked over the couch. as soon as he saw his brothers, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes at their antics and go back to trying to go to sleep.

he heard chattering and the padding of footsteps get closer, indicating they were coming his way. he began to think of a way of how he would get up without waking up y/n. there was no way.

quinn reopened his eyes and saw two figures standing in front of him. “what the fuck?” he questioned and his brothers laughed at his face.

“i see you’ve been having fun.” luke said and his eyes traveled down to y/n’s sleeping figure and he raised an eyebrow at quinn. “like i knew you had a girlfriend but she’s way out of your league.”

quinn let out a fake chuckle. “get the hell out and let us sleep.” he commented and wrapped his arms around y/n, his arm covering her face from jack and luke.

“but we just got here.” jack pointed out and luke murmured in agreement.

“then go up to your rooms.”

“but we want to meet your girlfriend.” luke stated with a fake pout.

quinn glared at the pair. “she’s sleeping so leave,” he stated and closed his eyes, protecting y/n from their view.

“we’re coming back when you’re both wide awake.” jack pointed a finger at quinn before he and quinn went to the front to get their bags and head upstairs.

quinn shook his head and went back to sleep, awaiting the moment of when y/n wakes up.

the couple had surprisingly slept for an hour and a half. it surprised quinn since he knew his brothers and the amount of noise they made whenever one of them were sleeping.

y/n had begun to wake as she had begun to squirm in quinn’s hold. he let out a groan and held her closer to his body, her squirming subsiding. “q, let go.” she mumbled into his chest. he held her tight. “quinn.”

“go to sleep, princess.” quinn whispered, his eyes still closed.

y/n started to squirm once again. “no, i have to meet your brothers as i said before.” she really wanted to meet luke and jack but with quinn’s hold keeping her restrained, it was impossible.

“they can wait.”

“no we can’t.”

quinn snapped his head towards the voice and y/n lifted her head and looked towards the boy. “why are you everywhere luke?”

luke shrugged, “i don’t know,” he sat at the end of the couch, “i just am.”

quinn rolled his eyes and looked down at y/n. “well you’ve met luke,” he told her.

“and the other?”

“i have a name.” jack.

y/n turned towards the boy, “yeah i know. sorry jack.”

jack shrugged and sat next to luke who gave jack a look. “what?” luke stared at him for a second before using all his force to push jack off. he fell with a thud and quinn, luke, and y/n laughed. “asshole.”

“man whore.”

jack looked up at luke. he got up within a second before he pounced onto luke. the two began to fight, jokingly, of course. jack had an arm wrapped around luke who let out a scream. “get off of me.” luke managed to get out despite jack’s arm suffocating him. luke continuously slapped jack’s arm in an effort for his older brother to let go.

“no.” the two continued to fight and quinn and y/n just stayed there laughing at the two.

“well you’ve met thing 1 and thing 2.” quinn said as he looked down at y/n. “i don’t know how they haven’t killed each other in jersey yet.”

y/n looked up at him. “you have a wonderful family.”

“aren’t we just lovely?” luke asked as he wriggled under jack’s hold. “also one more question,” y/n and quinn looked at him, “did quinn force you to get with him?”

jack’s head perked up at this. “oh yeah, did he?” he let go of luke as he turned towards his older brother and his girlfriend.

y/n only chuckled and quinn gave them a death stare. “no, i didn’t. she simply fell in love with me.”

jack and luke looked at each other. suddenly, the two bursted out laughing. both quinn and y/n were confused. they had a look on there face as the younger pair continued laughing. “what?”

“oh, we’re sorry but how is it that a girl like her, take this in a good way, would fall in love with a guy like you?” jack said and luke was still too busy laughing.

quinn looked at them, offended, “what’s that supposed to mean?”

“she’s beautiful! and you’re just..you.” luke exclaimed. “like let’s be real here.”

y/n turned to them, “i didn’t fall in love with him because of his looks, i fell in love with him because of his personality,” she looked towards quinn before looking back at the younger brothers, “although sometimes he’s a little interesting.”

“what do you mean interesting?”

“a wet cat.”

Natasha, who immediately caught onto this, nudged a couple of them in the sides and gave them a look that told them all they needed to know.

A few of them spread out, going back to their previous activities around the pool table and Phoenix smiled at you again, “Care to play a round?” She asked.

“Sure,” You answered softly, before an arm snaked its way around your waist once more.

Your entire body instantly relaxed under Roosters hold and you gladly took the glass from his hand with the drink he had gotten you, “Everything all right over here, honey?” He asked.

A grin spread across your lips as you leaned over and pressed a kiss near the edge of his mustache, “Everything’s great, Brad.”

When the corners of his lips twitched upwards and he looked down at you in full adoration, Nat took that as her cue to slip away and join the others.

“I like her,” Bob declared when she got over to them.

Fanboy hummed in agreement, “I’m just surprised that they’re so…”

“Different?” Jake filled in the blank.

Natasha nodded, “Yeah, they are. But they’re good for each other.”

They watched as you tried to hide a loud giggle behind your hand after Rooster whispered something into your ear and they couldn’t help but match their smiles with Bradley’s.

They’re having a girl, it seems, so the reader gets a shit ton of cute gifts for the baby that she absolutely gushes over.

I see the vision! In canon he does often speak in a poetic way that just gets lost in translation. So I’ve actually had this headcanon for a while (that I’ve been meaning to talk more about) that he’s actually quite romantic when he does take an interest in someone. He has an appreciation for beauty and nature and the arts, so I can definitely see him planning moonlit rendezvous. But he’s also sadistic and cruel, and enjoys mocking people, so combine those traits and… yeah. Romantic and traumatic at the same time, as you said.

We also see that he’s a planner, and he doesn’t mind delaying his own gratification. Look how long he waited to possess Megumi. So I don’t see him just grabbing random women and raping them right then and there. If a woman (or whoever else) caught his eye, he would arrange for them to be brought to his bed that night, probably after having them bathed and dressed in a fancy kimono. And he would take his time, savoring their body. I don’t think he plans all this with rape in mind. I think he simply doesn’t care about consent. If the person is into it, great. If they’re not, also great. I think he can enjoy himself either way. And if he had an especially pleasurable night, he might let them live in case he wanted to bed them again sometime, or he might “honor” them by eating them later. And if they were a lousy lay or were simply annoying, he probably just decapitated them.

i’m putting this out here just to say that, if you are a fanfiction reader, there is some etiquette, and things to remember, and especially with the bunch of new ao3 members coming over from wattpad and not knowing what to do, this is just a basic little list of ao3 etiquette.

so yes, this mainly applies to ao3, but there is some that is notable for any fanfiction.

firstly and possibly most important, writers do this all for free. we write for our own enjoyment, and sometimes we might become disinterested in the fandom, or we might just have writers block, or maybe we need a mental health break. whatever it is, please do not demand for an update. we write for free, and we need to take breaks. don’t hold us to the same standards as you would a professional writer.

read the tags. please. that would help all of us greatly.

don’t like something? don’t read it. and if you do read it, don’t comment on it. it was most likely tagged that _____ is in this fanfiction. if you read the tags, then you will have no issue.

writers don’t know what kudos mean to you. you leaving kudos could be a “omg i adore this so much”, or it could be a “thanks for writing this :D”. the writer doesn’t know what kudos mean to you. i usually take kudos as a “this was decent ig, good job”, but some readers don’t leave kudos very easily, so it might be a “omggg i love this so much”. we don’t know that. so please, leave comments! it only take two seconds to say “i really liked this! great work!”

and also, we don’t know whether you’ve reread it. and you can’t leave kudos, so i usually assume that you just didn’t think about the fic after you read it, it just became another work that you read. so leaving a comment saying “just reread this, second kudos!” is greatly appreciated. once again, only takes two seconds!

don’t leave hate comments. this is someone’s piece of work, and they spent time and put effort into these works. just, don’t leave hate comments, or they will be deleted and you will be blocked, most likely. they’re a waste of your time, and just plain rude to the writer.

don’t give people shit for what fandom they write for. i can not say this enough. no matter what your opinions on the fandom are, just acknowledge that they find comfort/enjoyment/any other positive emotion that writers may find through writing, through that fandom.

and on that, people write for different reasons, and just make sure you respect that. i started writing bc i had an active imagination, and i loved the fandom that i was in when i was younger. now, i write as a way to vent, and deal with my emotions, and as a way of enjoyment. it’s different for everyone. respect everyone. it’s not that hard.

and to writers, i love you, and i’m proud of you. youre doing a great job, and if you’ve received any negativity bc of writing, don’t listen to them, and do what makes you happy.

Opinion on Frazel?

I don’t understand when people say that Frazel was rushed in the books, because I don’t think they were- they crushed on eachother throughout the entirety of the series and only officially got together during the blood of Olympus. I think they were pretty cute up until then, to be honest.

When people see this ship, they’re like ew the age difference is weird, and to be honest, it kinda is. But their on a trip of life and death and they don’t have time to think about who they’re dating and whatnot- in another time they would’ve thought it out, but the time that they’re in now didn’t let them do that.

And arguing that Hazel is canonically 80 years old is dumb because the same goes for solangelo and Caleo- Nico is like 80 something years old and Calypso, who’s thousands of years old. If your gonna call it weird on hazels part, then you call all those other ships weird. Also, mentally and physically, she’s still 13. Or, 14, I think she turns 14 in the books.

Age is weird in this series so arguing about all of this is kinda silly- the age difference is weird, I agree, and it’s kinda uncomfy, but-

I think their relationship is pretty cute, if we excuse the age difference. We need to understand that throughout the series, they’re kinda in a very traumatising and tough situation, and they’re kinda becoming each others life-lines.

I think that the whole Leo plot line is so fuckin stupid, I understand why Frank felt threatened by him but like- ugh, I wish Hazel and Leo became good friends by the end of it. We got like a couple of scenes of them being friends, but it wasn’t enough for me.

But the scene where Leo describes Calypso and Hazel draws her and then he keeps the drawing in his workspace is really nice.

BACK TO FRAZEL- I like the plot line of Leo telling Hazel and Frank about him sacrificing himself, I think it weighs a lot on the both of them but it’s a nice point for all of their characters. I wish we got a scene of Leo and Frank being friends instead of it being Frank hating Leo, Leo helping Frank with his firewood problem and then him bursting into tears when Leo tells him he’s gonna die, like-

What are you doing Frank, c’mon; get it together. You hated him all you’ve known him and now you weep at him announcing his death to you guys? What? Like a scene of them talking together would’ve been nice- in this fictional scene, I imagine that Frank might’ve asked Leo, ‘hey, what flowers do you want me to put on ur grave?’ Lmao, yk?

They’re really cute, I think them ruling new rome together is really adorable. The age difference is weird but it’s weird for almost all of the most popular ships in this fuckin book series, so-

Okay now from the POV of STANNING CHARACTERS… (kfp4 spoilers)

So first off. My condolences to Tigress fans + people who are big fans of the Furious Five. And I mean – the Furious Five are were (?! 😭) core cast members, they’re great and fun characters, so I can absolutely understand the outrage of them just not being there AT ALL. In fact… idk their absence is weird in that it does feel less like kung fu panda without them. I take the view that what Matters is the movie being good, so if you have a movie that’s good, you can get away with certain characters* not being there if they wouldn’t serve an otherwise good plot. You can’t really say that’s the case with this movie though, because its pacing etc had much to be desired. So… yeah. You kicked them out but then the movie still wasn’t even good?? 😭And they didn’t even get a little scene they got nothing!! 😭No speaking scene I mean!

*Certain characters when I’m not completely obsessed with them (LOL). Because I, like anyone, am BIASED, my point here is that’s the “objective” take, but subjectively it absolutely sucks when your personal fave isn’t there so I really do sympathise. If shifu wasn’t in the fourth movie at all, I, too, would be extremely upset and furious. So fans of the Five have every right to be personally unhappy with their absence. For example if Shifu was absent from a Good kfp movie because he wouldn’t contribute to the Good plot, “objectively” that makes sense from a writing pov. Subjectively, I would still be personally unhappy with it.

ANYWAY. So now for analysis/discussion from a more character-focused pov/being biased in terms of my focus!

I mean, Shifu’s my fave, put him onscreen and don’t completely mess it up and there’s a good chance I’m just happy to see him again. And I was pleased to see him again. Ahah… What can I say? I’m a shifu fan… XD

Anyway. He’s SO not having a fun time dhsdjhsdsd I’m. god. Still getting my thoughts together about this. I have sorrrrt of mixed feelings/am of two worlds.

I did really enjoy his scenes. He’s actually kind of a mess honestly omggg. It kinda took me by surprise and I was actually very amused. I can’t help it he’s why I’m here LOL.

So like yes on the one hand I absolutely did accept and enjoy his scenes. On the other hand I was a bit surprised because… Well. Movies 1-3 did seem to have him on a clear trajectory of getting better and becoming more chill. He’s very Not Chill in this. You could make an argument that the whole “Oogway choosing Po as his spiritual successor” is a/the major issue that’s set back his progress in this movie, is why he’s clearly Not Fine (however much he might claim otherwise ckjdjkdsjk), etc. Because he only gets hit with that knowledge/information at the end of movie 3. The whole fact that he’s been kind of “overlooked” by Oogway (or at least, kind of skipped over technically…) and is now technically “surpassed” by Po, etc etc.

However, the above is all Watsonian analysis. From a Doylist point of view, I doooo think he has been Flanderised a bit. Feels like he’s just kind of been stuck/shoved into the box/role of grumpy “least-zen zen master” without much room to move about. It does feel like he had a lot more room/leeway before with his character/characterisation than he seems to have now…? And idk how to feel about it. Because like… I still really enjoyed his scenes in this movie, I loved it. So I don’t actually have any personal issues/complaints with it, I guess I do just feel like it can be “overdone”, if he really is thoroughly boxed-in like this. If his character has been simplified down/exaggerated… There are potential concerns with that but like, again. I loved him in this movie.

I mean I guess it just comes down to some mixed feelings on my end. Because I was getting this sense of “okay this kind of seems like… a bit overdone on the characterisation. But at the same time… I still love this characterisation” dhsdhjas? Hmmm. Still mulling over it. But I had fun! On an analytical level, I recognised that this movie had flaws, and that Shifu’s characterisation can be symptomatic of an overall downgrading of writing quality/handling of the characters in general. On the level of Being A Fan, I am a little baby being mesmerised by car keys being jangled in front of me.

It's also just kind of Funny to learn just how badly he’s doing. I thought he was Fine I really overestimated how well-adjusted he was at this point sdhsajksdakjsad god I. Mixed thoughts but I truly did love his scenes for the most part. Oughhh.

The fact that he’s now officially confirmed/clarified In Canon that he’s a red panda is hilarious. It took them four movies to do it. It’s been MANY years. But people having no clue what kind of animal he is over and over again, piggybacking off that… Man I loved it.

Hhhhhh yeah. Gonna keep mulling it over.

& I did feel catered to as a Shifu fan, by virtue of the fact that He Was There (I am the baby looking at the jangling car keys). So like, that would have affected my overall experience of the movie As A Whole in ways too! Because you can’t completely separate subjective from "objective". The movie itself could be lackluster but I could still be like “yesss Shifu” if I enjoy his individual scenes, etc. So tbh I had a great time, if only for that. I wanted to see him again and I did, LOL.

And like idk, if I fine-tooth-comb comparison his characterisation in previous installments vs this one, maybe I will come up with discrepancies or whatnot, and I guess one of my concerns is like, even if I was totally fine with how he was written in this movie, it raises concerns about how he might be portrayed in any future media, etc, so I’m just kinda wary? Idk. But tbh I had fun. That’s what matters.

SO my brain wouldn’t shut up and I couldn’t stop picturing what a Sunday morning would be like at the cabin…

I feel like that would be chore day since the kids don’t have school and preparations for the upcoming week need to happen.

Like picture the kids all battling and arguing over which chores they’re each responsible for. To try to remain fair, Nica even creates a chart and alternates weeks, very proud of herself for the organization…only to find it doesn’t work and the kids will still barter and bicker and beg/plead/whine to get out of doing the chore they despise.

The cabin would be utter chaos that day, I can only imagine, and Nica and Andy always have to remind themselves why they decided to adopt so many children on these days.

Nica tries to make it as fun as she can, blasting music so they can all sing and dance around while they divide and conquer, and while it’s a great time for the kids who don’t mind their chores for that week, it just makes the ones who got the job they hate more desperate to get out of it and join in on the fun!

I feel like you’d imagine this so much better than me! What are your thoughts? 😂🥰

Honestly, I imagine Junior has 0 idea on how to clean. He literally had a maid growing up! He doesn’t even know how to properly hold a broom! So cleaning has him whining and pleading to have his chores switch out for something “easier”. Although music does cause him to cheer up and give him some motivation, he’ll still try to bribe his adopted siblings to do his chores instead. Junior has been caught by Andy and Nica doing this XD

7: I know we're fighting but come here (swoons)

A studio apartment was wonderful most of the time. Their bed was large, framed by hanging plants and flooded with sunlight in the mornings. Jackie could get up and walk over to the kitchen island, preparing the first two cups of mocca of the day. As she waited for the dark liquid to boil in her little copper kettle, she could still glance over at the bed where Nicky was usually still buried under a pile of pillows and blankets, muffled grumbling mixing with the low whistling of the kettle. The many pillows could be assorted in many ways, making the bed serve as a sofa to watch TV as well. And thanks to the high ceilings and white walls, it never felt too caged in. No, usually they really couldn’t complain about their little piece of heaven in the heart of Manhattan.

Usually. Because right now, the little shared space turned out to be a curse. The air was tense with the echoes of previous yells and anger, a crisp breeze ruffling the leaves of Jackies beloved houseplants. The window was opened wide, Nicky‘s frame leaned halfway outside, a cigarette dangling between her lips and her short, bleached hair pulled into a disheveled knot resting on the back of her neck. She knew Jackie disapproved of the smoking, especially in the house. This was purely to spite her for having the audacity to give her the silent treatment.

The whole argument had been stupid, really. Nicky knew she worked too much she knew her all nighters were not going to do her body and mind any favours in the long run. But a fashion magazine didn’t establish itself, and she was running behind on all the material she’d gathered at Fashion week. And anyways, it wasn’t like Jackie had the perfect work-life balance either! Why was she allowed to leave late at night for spontaneous recording sessions with Jan and her band but if Nicky so much as looked at her drafts after nine pm, all hell broke loose?

Nicky huffed, taking another drag of her almost burned out cigarette. She wasn’t ready to turn around and face Jackie again just yet. If it hadn’t been so late at night, lights speeding past on the road far, far below her, she would’ve grabbed her coat and rushed outside. But getting killed on the nightly streets seemed a little extreme, even for her.

Something rustled and bustled behind her again, the fan over the stove happily blowing away. Nicky had to force herself not to turn around to see what Jackie was doing, no, she was not going to give her that satisfaction. Not until Jackie realised that she was wrong and not one bit better than Nicky.

A heavy sigh.

Nicky‘s lips curled around the damp end of her cigarette, biting her tongue. She didn’t like this either. It wasn’t like she wanted to fight, or upset Jackie in general. But she was too stubborn to give in, no matter how sorrowful Jackie’s little sounds of frustration got. That’s what she got for treating her like a kid that could just be put into time out when it threw a tantrum! Although the goosebumps on her arms did start to make her shiver, the breeze of cold night sucking all the warmth out of her frame, only dressed in her favourite sleep shirt. One of Jackie‘s Star Trek ones, of course…

Steps, right behind her. Nicky pressed her lips together, blowing the last huff of smoke out of her nose. A steaming cup of tea was placed on the window sill beside her. It took every ounce of self control to not glance at Jackie, but Nicky managed to keep her gaze focussed on the building across the street, focussing on the dark windows there. She pressed her burned out cigarette onto the ash tray in front of her, wordlessly reaching for the cup. Pale, cold fingers grazed over tan, warm ones, long and slender, like everything about Jackie.

„You’re freezing.“

The touch lingered on for just a moment, before Nicky pulled away to bring the cup to her lips. She didn’t answer, simply let the hot steam warm her face, cheeks red from the cold.

As always, Jackie was not going to let her go that easily. Her hand found Nicky’s shoulders, neither pulling or pushing her, simply resting her palm on the other girls body, the warmth of her touch spreading faster than Nicky would admit.

„Come back inside“, Jackie pleaded, „It’s getting real cold inside too.“

„No“, the word slipped out before Nicky even realised it herself, lips curled into a slight pout. She quickly tried to hide her face behind the steaming cup, cursing when the liquid burned the tip of her tongue.

That drew a chuckle from Jackie. She shook her head, just slightly, dark waves bouncing. „Baby please“, she said, trying and failing to hold back her laughter. „I can sit in the bathroom if you want.“

At that, not even Nicky could hold back her smile anymore. She chuckled, forcing her mouth to stay in a frown.

Jackie’s other hand found Nicky’s cheek, and this time she let her gently pull her towards her. Face to face, they both leaned against the window sill, the moon and street lights illuminating their faces. Jackie’s fingertips were warm against Nicky’s cheek, and she couldn’t help but lean into the touch. The gesture pulled Jackie’s lips into a smile.

She gently tugged on Nicky’s shirt, pulling the smaller girls frame closer to her. Her lips were plump, remains of chapstick on the bottom one and Nicky knew it was Jackie’s favourite, the one that tasted like mint. Before she could help herself, the smaller blonde had already leaned in, pressing Jackie’s lips against her own, tongue running over them to taste the freshness. Mint, just like she thought.

Jackie’s hand wandered from Nicky’s cheek into her hair, cupping her head and pulling her in, a warming fire against the cold night. Nicky sighed, lips vibrating against Jackie, before pulling away.

Relief glimmered in the taller girls eyes. And love. Nicky bit her own lip, hand finding the hem of Jackie‘s shirt, pulling her hips up against her own. „I’m still mad at you“, she growled, even though her smile tells a different story.

„Of course“, Jackie purred, holding Nicky’s frame flush against her own. „Can you come be mad at me inside though?“

Their lips found each other again, this time Nicky let it linger just a little. „Hmm“, she pretended to think about it, lips curling into a smirk as her hand found the curve of Jackie’s ass. „Only if i get make up sex.“
