it happens right in front of dick and he tries really hard to keep calm

he wants to be strong and level-headed for you

shows more obvious affection then any of the men have ever seen from him; pets your hair, holds your hand, is always by your side

he immediately gets you a medic and transported to an aid station and doesn’t want to leave you

but when dick's back with easy, he gets uncharacteristically easily angry and frustrated...

he gets quiet and withdrawn and a little snappy with zelensky and nix... and they both immediately know why

whenever he can go see you, he's there.. he even gets behind on all his paperwork (but nix offers to help)

which dick is hesitant to accept for many reasons, he feels guilty, like he's not focusing on his duties but lew is always good at keeping the reports concise lol

very fragile with you, he isn't underestimating you but he just absolutely does not want to push you or hurt you

is a stickler for the rules, follows absolutely everything the doctor says

he has to wake you up every few hours and you keep insisting it’s unnecessary and dick is absolutely not having it

you try to get up and move around and all dick has to hear is the sheets moving and he just gives you that stare, a little bit like a disappointed mom, and you're right back laying down

he’s way more clingy than usual, wants to be by your side, subtly holding your hand

in that moment it definitely hits him how much he loves and cares about you... he hasn't really had time or space to process those feelings until now <3

it's really scary for everyone there, you loose a lot of blood and lose consciousness

lew is not there when you're first shot in the leg and everyone is very glad that he didn't have to see it

but when he finds out... oh he is not keeping cool, is not pretending even a little bit to be okay

starts lashing out and snaps at the driver who's taking him to the hospital to drive faster, mad that they didn't tell him sooner, mad that you were injured, mad at the war, furious at absolutely everything

lew has to be monitored by dick not to go full self destruction mode and get incredibly drunk

he hates just sitting with the constant uncomfortable feeling and reminder that you're hurting

he will not leave your side at first when you’re sleeping a lot, on a lot of medicine, and out of it

one nurse does approach him when he's the only vistor in the hospital left, "sir, the visiting hours-"

he just looks up, obviously devastated, voice cracking, "i'm can't leave. you can drag me out but i'm not going, thanks."

they back off after that

does go through a phase where he hates going once you're more conscious because he kills him to see you like that and face this feels irrational guilt he feels for not being there

because he definitely has the tendency to avoid his problems and things that hurt him

but it hurts you too and you don't fully understand

you look up at dick and harry, slightly delirious from the morphine, tearing up, "does he not want to see me anymore?"

after that they do drag lew to see you and you just straight up tell him feeling guilty is pointless and not fair to himself (or you)

and then it's right back to not leaving your side and always trying to make you laugh or smile

okay so i love the angel of the company x speirs trope

by now he's the co of easy and your relationship is a widely known secret...

he assigns you and the group of other men to a patrol... it wasn't an overly risky or bad order, a standard order from sink

but you guys make contact and you're shot in the arm

it just absolutely wrecks him

the guys feel like he's just going to go across enemy lines and find the soldier that shot you himself

the rest of the guys are furious too because everyone just absolutely loves you

for a short time, he's mad at the other soldiers on the patrol and you have to reminder him they didn't do anything wrong

but ron is really just irrationally mad at himself for not being there, for not being psychic, he's just angry he somehow didn't stop this

ron is not controlling and not possessive and he knows you can hold your own but he feels responsible for taking care of you and making sure you're safe

even if he can't quite articulate all of those feelings yet

he doesn't understand all the emotions he feels and doesn't even have time to try to understand them

he listens so attentively to the doctors, he can recite everything they've said word for word

like with chuck, he demands the absolute best from the doctors

this incident shows his more compassionate side and the guys start to see how much he really cares about you... bc they're protective of you too!

you have to comfort him and his voice breaks

and he feels weak and he feels bad that you're comforting him and not the other way around

"i'm messing everything up, doing everything wrong," he says more to himself but you frown, eyebrows furrowed and everything

"you're so hard on yourself, ron. when it's not your fault, it was routine, you didn't shoot me. then i'd be really pissed." you smile and he smiles weakly... but he's on edge for a longgg time after this

unfortunately you and lip just cannot catch a break

your leg gets injured while he has pneumonia

it's not a major injury but a bullet ricocheted off of a wall and slightly grazed you and you need a few days of staying off of it

lip really tries to be comforting

and wants to be there for you and he is!

but it's very hard for him, he just wants you to be okay so badly, even when he himself isn't okay

trying to lecture you about staying off of your leg and asking others for help but breaking out into a coughing fit and then you're trying to help him sit up and to go get some hot water for him

and then he's back to telling you to stop and starts hoarsely calling for luz

it's a MESS

but carwood is a natural caretaker and has been one for most of his life

it makes him hover sooo badly especially because since he's sick too he doesn't have a lot of work to keep him busy

but you're not complaining honestly, it's nice to have more private time and something of a break, even if you're both miserable

you get the special privilege of an actual private back bed room with a mattress and blankets

kind of a bonding experience

you just laugh because what the fuck

it's kind of romantic, first time in a longgg time in an actual bed together

you just go back and forth talking about your future and the life you want after the war

"i don't like this wallpaper," you murmur into his chest

he laughs and that turns into coughing again and you're just rubbing his back trying not to bend your leg... domestic bliss <3

he takes it extremely hard

like his reaction to joe and bill...

you have pneumonia and the peniciln you need isn't available in bastogne

and it's even worse that he finds out you're sick only a few hours after that and that you've been sick and struggling for the past few days

maybe his reaction would've been different earlier on in the war

but now, it just feels like a destructive domino effect that's sparing no one

it's obvious after all of his friends injuries and your pneumonia that he couldn't stay on the front line... his red bleary eyes and slightly trembling hands said enough

when he gets taken off the line, you're both in an aid station together for a few hours before you're both transferred to different hospital

so his presence is silent reassurance

you want so badly to comfort him but you're so sick and he doesn't want you to, he feels so guilty leaving you

but you hoarsely tell him he needs a break and to process what happened

you're feeling slightly better this day so that makes it a little better... but not that much

both of you have been through hell

but there is a light in the tunnel... or at least you feel that way

buck isn't on the front lines anymore and you both have a chance at a life together post-war

he does not want to leave you, it has to take a lot of malarkey's coaxing him and promising to update buck

and if being the medic and being the one to have their hands covered in the your blood, was better than leaving it in the hands of someone else

he decides it's awful... definitely worse

the very few hours he slept, it was just dreaming of your terrified face

and he wakes with a jolt and is completely miserable

and life just goes on...

a lot of pacing and murmuring

gene closes in on himself when he's upset and stressed, so he becomes even quieter than normal

and the other guys are worried like ??? do we need to intervene and lip just stops them, "leave him alone, he'll be okay."

prays for you a lot, gripping his rosary so tightly and the photo that he has of the two of you when you were still in england

when you both felt some semblance of normalcy

he can't abandon the company to stay with you full time at the aid station to his incredible frustration and disappointment

it's just hard for him to go on like everything's fine, it shatters whatever illusion he has of fairness and hope and safety

whenever someone else gets injured or they need supplies, he'll take any excuse to ride back to the aid station to see you

and if anyone else goes, they always see you and give gene an update

winters definitely notices and tries to give him opportunities to see you

likes watching you rest and sleep (because you definitely needed it, even before you got injured) in the sweetest, non-creepy way

gene loves to just sit with you, see you with his own eyes, and know for certain that you're okay

well you see, when i was a very small child, i had a nightmare. it began outside a beautiful gated garden, lush with flowers and foliage. every adult that tried to enter was promptly eaten by giant spiders that dropped down from the gate's arch.

i, being very small at the time, was able to enter without harm. and inside were countless butterflies of all sizes! it was gorgeous! i still remember it vividly despite having this dream a loooooong time ago! but i most vividly remember leaning down to look at a butterfly on a gorgeous flower.

then a different butterfly came over and cannibalized it. slowly. while the smaller one just sat there and let it happen, gently fluttering its wings.

and when i looked around the garden, i saw that the butterflies were all cannibals. and they helped the spiders eat people. it was beautiful carnage.

also butterflies are just ingenuine! they're the mean girls! they're all "oh we're so pretty and innocent look at us so so prettyyyy" girl you literally feed on carrion, rotting fruit, shit, and mud, stop lying

your pen posts are so funny from an outsider perspective. the mind of the enthusiast and of the pen-not-knower is so different. you post a picture of a pen and say THIS IS SOME UGLY BULLSHIT and then you post a picture of a pen that looks the same to me and say OH SHES SO PRETTYYYY I LOVE HERRR. absolutely inscrutable taste from the outside. love it :)

LISTEN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE TWO IS VAST OKAY.

the uber-shiny orange plastic looks CHEAP and the super yellow gold plating SCREAMS "i want to look fancier than i really am". the colored plastic of the demonstrator also looks like shit and makes it look like a kids' toy. plus the rings around the cap are corny, they're incorporating common fancy fp design elements with no self awareness about the tackiness of the rest of the pen, it makes it seem unaware of its own ugliness.

MEANWHILE on the right. tasteful, not in your face rose gold plating that's gentle and suits the delicate color palette of the pen. the way the demonstrator shows off an actually metal plunger, already better construction. i'm not a huge fan of the way the white is partially transparent but its hard to make opaque white plastic at this price point, especially with the glitter effect in it, fine enough to appear subtle and not flashy. shes classy shes elegant. even her clip is better looking with no ridiculous rings. some of her design elements are a bit cheaper looking and are done better on benu pens, but because she is more of an intermediate budget option she is allowed. she doesn't come across as cheap thin plastic like the kaweco frosted sport series. she is TASTEFUL she has CLASS but she is still OF THE PEOPLE. remember this

- A Once-In-A-Lifetime Pandemoniun

in general, i love silly little school trip moments!! Pandemonium was just lovely. Rui and the three friends he made <333 2-B boys you will always be famous to me. the surprised Pikachu face Rui pulled every time they were nice to him and included him in their banter, literally wanted to sob. Airi and Tsukasa having to stop Shizuku and Rui wandering off. Shizuku and Tsukasa childhood memories. and of course- well, look at my icon. not to mention the CARD SET??? absolutely beautiful. adore the yokai theme, Rui and Shizuku's cards nearly offed me. i stared at them for a good five minutes when they were first leaked

- No Seek, No Find

this is one of the few events that made me cry. Saki, you will always be my favourite Tenma <3 her frustration while being stuck in the hospital, her fear of being left behind, the unfairness, her loneliness, her guilt for worrying her family, her desire to be "normal"- it was heartbreaking. the card set hits so hard too, my favourite L/n cards. and Tera Tera is always in my head, Saki's solo >>>>

- My Colour

this event literally made me fall in love with Shizuku, i wasn't particularly interested in her too much before. the pressure put on her but then how she finally let herself act like herself <33 she's so hardworking and sweet, live laugh love, Shizuku Hinomori. the cards are so pretty, Shizuku looks so angelic in hers <3 and her solo of Colour of Drops sounds lovely as always too even if it's not a song i care about too much

- Musical Twilight Parade

LEO/NEED AND WONDERLANDS X SHOWTIME!! MY TWO FAVE UNITS HAD A CROSSOVER <33333 I LOVE THEM. the card set was underwhelming yes (only really like Rin's) but!! W x S as tour guides... the shenanigans... literally has one of my favourite moments of all time of Rui teaching the L/n girlies how to trespass, he's such a good influence, isn't he <33 OH YES AND ICHINENE'S FIRST MEETING!! THEY WERE SO AWKWARD AND SHY AROUND EACH OTHER AND NOW THEY'RE SO QUIETLY HAPPY WHEN THEY BUMP INTO EACH OTHER. THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME. also, it's a Shiho event so. winner!!

- Don't Lose Faith

Leo/need. Leo/need Cryptonloids. they're all so sweeeet. i love L/n Rin so much <333 i can't put into words why, but i just really like the event story, them training for their concert in Sekai and all with the support of Miku and Co. the cards were really cool (more lims should have dyed hair...) and so is the song, Voices. another Shiho win!!

- A Sorrowful Farewell at the Curtain Call

it's the only event that's got Asahi Genbu in it. that. that is it. oh yeah and W x S was threatened with divorce or something. BUT ASAHI <3 cards were interesting... i like the symbolism but they don't particularly like. interest me greatly? What Sort of Ending Are You Wishing For isn't one of my fave fave songs either... yeah, it was mainly the story that carried this event for me!!

- Insatiable Pale Colour

ENA. ENA. ENA. INFINITELY GREY MAKES ME CRY. ENA SHINONOME YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME. HER STRUGGLES HIT SO HARD </333 also,,, Shinonome siblings </3 the cards are prettyyyy. they suit the vibe of the event so well. ONCE AGAIN. INFINITELY GREY. beautiful song, the last chorus makes me so emotional. how Ena sounds like she's screaming in desperation throughout...

- THIS EVENT STORY FELT LIKE A FEVER DREAM. IT WAS SO CHAOTIC AND SILLY AND SO VERY W X S <333 there's so many golden scenes in it. Rui threatening to "sleep the big sleep" if he's made to eat veg. them forming a human pyramid that was nearly ruined by Tsukasa having the audacity to sneeze. Shosuke Otori character development. the only card i really liked was Emu's and Starry Sky Melody isn't one of my favourite songs but the story makes up for it!!

anyway. you know how i got into twisted wonderland cause i read khr fics where skull was them or something? there was a riddle rosehearts one. and it honestly solidified riddle as one of my favorites before i even knew him

also it makes a lot more sense now (the writer gave him a happy family for one though which awe)

also "...and completely lost track of the time." gave me literal chills

anyway i hate the purple twistunes (sometimes the blue and red ones are trippy when notes are playing at the same time but i got into the habit of 1. listening to the music for guidelines, and 2. noting which color came first so i dont get confused). they're so unreasonably hard sob getting the timing right is hard and the music is a liar because i expect there to be a beat so i hit too early because im listening to the music and its WRONG. so i have to take the music with a grain of salt. listen to it but dont strictly follow it. and really focusing on the white bar but you ever focus so much you stop being able to focus like oh my god i get distracted and i dont know wHY (and thus comes the technique of 'go to the hardest difficulty, beat it, and then go back' or like. at least try it. cause sometimes it makes normal easier???)

if i didnt get all the things for twistunes itd bother me eternally. because rhythm is my jam. but sometimes they're so frustratingly hard cause you have to get like no misses (or no goods and stuff) for easy and normal. and easy is easier but sometimes it just doesnt click with me and aGH.

and im SO thankful that you dont have to get no misses on hard, you just need like ss and stuff which isnt that hard because you can miss a bunch and still get there. but oh my god i remember this time i was so used to it that every mistake i made on hard i just reseted. took a minute to think and realize 'hey wait a second this is hard')

This episode was both incredibly beautiful and incredibly, INCREDIBLY anxiety-inducing – I was waiting for the other shoe to drop right up to the moment the credits rolled. The realities of Khun Yai just not clocking servants as people were never quite as obvious as when he repeatedly insisted on variations of "nobody's here" "nobody's going to see" on a property FULL of people, and it did not help my apprehension.

I loved the way the intimate scenes were filmed! Moey and Ueangphueng and what I'm pretty sure was Ueangphueng switching into Northern Thai (which most of the servants speak and I don't think we've heard any of the family speak yet) was so sweet and I was so worried. And Jom and Yai … whoa. The way expectations/interpretation of Khun Yai's request that Jom rub oil on his back differed so much between them — Jom with his 21st century background clearly expecting it to go somewhere, Yai either just not thinking that far or chickening out. The way they intercut Jom's memory with the masturbation scene … man, this episode is gorgeous. Same with the dance scene at the end of the episode. The framing, the way it's shot … incredibly pretty. And then! the kiss and the eye contact and the silent agreement? that tiny, decisive nod?? WHOA. I've seen half-naked make-out scenes that weren't as charged as this. Incredible.

I'm ever more worried for next week because it looks like Ueangphueng and Moey are going to get in bad bad trouble :(

Two quistiens please!

1. What size do you usually use for your drawings?

2. HOW DO YOU DRAW YOU BACKGROUNDS!?!? THEY'RE SO PRETTYYYY!!!!

I'll try my best 😅

1. I usually start out with a 2000 x 2000 px canvas, mainly because I like squared (they feel neutral) and if I want to post it on instagram I won't have any problems (well... before their update). I can still change it to landscape of portrait later on if I need it to be. That size isn't particularly big, but it's enough for viewing it online.

Backgrounds under the cut ✨

2. First of all, thank you 😚 I have to start with saying I'm no professional, I didn't study art and I'm pretty sure I'm using wrong terminology and describe things in a weird way, but here's how I do my stuff and what my though process cheats is like.

Also I've noticed I rarely draw backgrounds and I think most of the backgrounds I drew were for my spicy pieces... anyway

It helps a lot when you already know what kind of background you wanna have and sketching it alongside your main subject. Most of the time it's an after thought in my works and I think it shows. Sometimes I can work my way around it and bullshit a background after I've already drawn the characters, but it really helps when you know what you're gonna do before you start. Thumbnails help a lot when you want to plan out your scene.

What I like to do (and what works best when bullshitting your backgrounds) is making the background symmetrical. It doesn't have to be actually symmetrical, but the use of central perspective and placing bigger objects in the background in an almost symmetrical way makes it feel like it is without it actually obviously being symmetrical. It's easy because you can use the symmetry tool or copy things from one side to the other and fill your scene quickly with very little planning. It also frames your subject very nicely the way some renaissance and art nouveau pieces do.

Those are the pieces I knew what the background should look like before I started. They are asymmetrical and required more planning, but I think they were worth it. Here you can play around more with different perspectives which gives them more depth and makes them more visually interesting. They also feel less staged.

Great tip for cozy backgrounds: Pillows and curtains. They are big, they are easy to draw, they take up space and usually you have more than one in a scene so it fills up quickly and you don't have to put in a lot of thought about what else to put in the background. Alongside all those big objects you can also put some medium sized and smaller items in your scene to fill in empty spaces, give more visual balance and also they add to the mood of a scene and can tell a story on their own.

One last thing I think about while drawing backgrounds is white space. While it can look good to have a cluttered scene, I think it's really hard to pull off and also the eye needs some place to rest. Having enough white space in your piece keeps a nice balance and makes your subject "pop". It guides the eye to whatever you're trying to present.

Oh and something I should probably add to all these little "art tips" thingys: Use references References are your friends
