omg nina yessssss thank you for asking! i've given this a lot of thought (while combing through my extremely extensive spotify playlist). i'm a huge parawhore so 2 out of 3 4 of these songs are songs by them (hehe)

9. a song that makes you happy

"still into you" by paramore. it just.. it reminds me of reminiscing that innocent feeling of "oh shit oh no, do i.. do i like them?!" before you descend into absolute chaos as you sort out your feelings and go "yeah, yeah, i think i do. shit." and then it's years later and that small little crush you've had has developed into a full-fledged relationship because you decided to take a chance—a loving, healthy one—and then you listen to this track and you think back on everything and you're kinda struck with how you feel exactly the same, if not more in love, and it makes you dance around the room. i sound so cheesy, gross. but it does make me smile! i kinda feel like it doesn't have to be interpreted as romantic either; could even apply to a really good friendship that has weathered the years with grace. i love it.

23. a song you think everybody should listen to

currently, i've been fixated on the song "about you" by the 1975 which, similarly to the first song, makes me think of both romantic love, and meaningful friendships that have stood the test of time. the song itself is so calming and nostalgic to me, and i'm obsessed with the part where a female singer (i'm not sure who) sings:

"there was something about you that now, i can't remember. it's the same damn thing that made my heart surrender. and i miss you on the train; i miss you in the morning. i never know what to think about"

makes you think, "how did we get here? what was it about you that drew me to you? it's been so long that i can't remember" and it makes you miss them, especially if you've lost contact, whether it's a friend or a partner, and.. i don't know, it makes me feel grateful and loved.

30. a song that reminds you of yourself

it's a tie between 2 songs for me. the first is "get free" by lana del rey. it sounds like.. a coming of age song. my favourite lyrics from it, that i relate to so much, are:

"this is my commitment; my modern manifesto. i'm doing this for all of us who never got the chance"

and

"sometimes it feels like i got a war on my mind. i wanna get off but i keep riding the ride. i never really noticed that i have to decide to play someone's game, or live my own life. but now i do"

the other song is "fake happy" by paramore for the very simple reason of how i've been learning to accept and navigate through my mental health condition with.. arguable success. but it's all good, i guess. my favourite lyrics:
