Overview:

Betty is friendly, curious, and quite straightforward. She was born in the south of the US and as such, has a bit of a Southern accent, though leaning more towards a theatrically fancy version of it (think Scarlett O'Hara from "Gone with the Wind").

She never married out of disdain for feeling dominated in a relationship, and so lived alone by making a humble living as a music tutor. She died of cardiac arrest, with no one around to help her in time.

Despite dedicating a large part of her life to charity work, she would often contemplate if she's truly a good person or just doing all that work to convince herself that she is. Now in Heaven, she still watches her every step to make sure she's not doing anything bad, and if she makes even the smallest misstep, she feels immense guilt for it.

Her favorite thing about Heaven? Infinite time to learn all sorts of new skills, mostly on the creative side - it was there that she learned to assemble simple machinery and wind-up toys. However, if she doesn't do at least semi-decently at first, she's very quick to give up, and as such has sworn off learning how to paint and bake for the most part - as much as she excels at cooking, all her pastries and cakes come out either slack-baked or burnt, something she laments as she loves sweets.

Notable relationships:

Sir Pentious - friend, then crush

Betty met Sir Pentious shortly after he had started using the building she lived in as a personal workshop. They became "tinkering buddies" and bonded over their shared love for building machines.

She is the one to fall for him first, making peace with her feelings after a brief period of inner conflict. It takes Sir Pentious quite some time to get over his old love back in Hell (even though she moved on rather quickly - not to fault her, of course, as for all she knows he's gone for good and they weren't even officially a thing) but he does eventually end up reciprocating.

Because their ship is more of a slowburn, you will see them refer to each other as friends in my work a lot of the time, but that doesn't change that their endgame is romantic!

Molly - best friend

They regularly have their "girls' nights in" where they gossip and have fun. Never too old for a sleepover!

Emily - idol

They barely know each other personally if at all, but Betty really looks up to her, to the point where she'll get really nervous and awkward trying to impress her if she gets the chance.

After talking with @drpumpkins for way too long about ideas for Batman OCs, I finally made us some templates to have all this information in one place. And I figured I'd share them here!

You can find the templates here on my blog. I have a few friends testing them now for errors/unclear text, but please reach out to me if anything is unclear. The information in both is from the perspective of the Batman family logging details and records on the heroes and villains of Gotham. Of course, you can break that perspective as much or as little as you'd like!

Additional characteristics: Despite his extreme age, he looks like he's merely in his late 60s to early 70s. His body is completely covered in countless scars, ranging from claw marks to lightning burns. He has the physique of an Olympic strongman and calloused hands that never so much as quiver under even the most stressful of situations and possess a vice-like grip that's almost impossible to escape from. Important lore tidbits: Like many of his kin, the Doctor's true form is incompatible with the comprehension of mortals, and so he devised a plan to hide it. He tracked down a human scientist named Cedric Wylde, killed him, and stole his name, flesh, voice, and even his very soul. The new Doctor Wylde now wears the old one's skin like a costume, though how he fits inside is unknown. He has worn this skin for just over 50 years, and once it finally gives out on him, he'll have to shed it and repeat the process. In order to keep himself from sinking into the ground as its crushed under his immense weight, the doctor is constantly using gravity magic to make himself lighter. At this current point in time it's become second nature to him, as effortless and automatic as breathing, and sometimes he forgets he's even doing it. He is a veteran of a great war known as the Fell War, and it is the cause of not only his PTSD, but also his prejudice against demons. Over the millennia he's developed a split personality; a twisted version of himself named Janus. Pray you never meet him, and that if you do the meeting is brief and nonviolent. Janus only emerges to "play" when Doctor Wylde nears his breaking point mentally. He is capable of allowing parts of his true self to temporarily break through the skin suit as "mutations" if needs be. He can also contort his body at inhuman angles at will.

Additional lore trivia: In his youth, he had a bit of a superiority complex and this obnoxious "holier than thou" attitude that only got more infuriating when you realize that he's right. Such things were snuffed out of him during the Fell War. Though fully ambidextrous as an adult, he was born left handed. Do NOT challenge him to a drinking contest, as not only does he already have a drinking problem and by doing so you're encouraging him, but the alcohol content needed to get him even slightly tipsy is enough to kill several people from alcohol poisoning. He absolutely despises the word "moist." His favorite color seems to change every few days. This is because his favorite color is actually outside the wavelengths of visible light for humans, and he's trying to find one that's the most similar.

It's good to be making character sheets again. I put too much time into this one just figuring it all out. That includes figuring out how the hell to keep Tumblr from absolutely destroying image quality, which has more or less proven a fruitless task. It was fun dropping a lot of lore easter eggs for her into this sheet, even if only I get it for now.
