Here's Cucurucho and Oscurucho's long lore conversation from yesterday! The entire conversation lasted about 8 minutes, but most of that time was just silence between each exchange, so I edited out the long pauses and got it down to ~3 minutes. I also fixed the audio levels and added subtitles since I personally find it difficult to understand Oscurucho sometimes :'D

#Cucurucho #Oscurucho #QSMP #December 21 2023 #Edited #Subtitles #For those who like knowing the gritty details and specifics about the things I did for this video -#I adjusted Cucurucho's volume because they were very quiet compared to Oscurucho #I fixed the sound direction (for lack of a better word) of Oscurucho's voice b/c he was speaking through my right headphone 90% of the time #so now it's more of a ''centered'' audio rather than a right ear or left ear thing #I added subtitles (obviously)#I fixed the camera a bit so it's more focused on Cucurucho / Oscurucho #and I adjusted the translator box so that even with the crop; they're all still included #usually they get cut out when I edit things because I'm just focused on the characters; but then one day I was like #''Why am I cropping out this thing that specifically helps people understand the story better?''#So moving forward I'll see if I can do what I did here and add translation boxes as their own ''layer'' overlaying the clip itself #for big lore videos anyways or for clips with long conversations at least #I jokingly said to myself ''I bet I'll wind up shaving 5 minutes off this'' and I was right lol #I enjoy the official QSMP streams but one major critique I have is that the pacing was a bit slow in one or two streams #which is understandable considering many admins have to write in books (which takes time) and translate things (which takes even more time)#And that's valid! But in the last stream (the one with Elena) for example; many scenes dragged on far too long #and it wasn't because people were taking extra long to write books or translate things. It was purely a matter of pacing #idk I'm a professional writer and editor so I'm extra nitpicky about things like that. I think it's something that's pretty easy to fix tho #This is just my critique in terms of the story pacing - like I said; the time it takes them to write / translate stuff is understandable #this is more of a comment on the overall pacing #anyways rant over #Today's stream had much better pacing! Still a bit slow (again; I cut 5 minutes from this conversation)#but that's due to the communication medium (TTS) so that's understandable. That's valid. I'm not fussed about it; that felt natural #Take all the time you need kings it's hard to translate things on the fly. I get it.#Portfolio

#something is very obviously different about these two compared to my normal images on this blog. i acknowledge this #also the sv model is Really good. and since they always stare straight at the camera anyway… and no one pays attention to the background…#and the only high-quality phantump model i could find was so horribly shiny that its eyes were just white voids #in my defense‚ phantump always just stare straight at you in game #the lighting is different‚ yeah. that's probably the dead giveaway. beyond the background. but like. i'm the only being on the planet who #really likes phantump anyway. i feel like it's a generally forgettable pokémon to most folks #phantump #HELLO this one is a weird one. i have some explaining to do. so when i did this one i didn't know how to edit models really at all #and when i got the models for these‚ the xy models were super shiny. shiny to the point that it made their eyes fuckin invisible #and i decided that since you could barely tell it was phantump‚ i needed a different way to get these images #i remembered that in the SV dlc‚ every time you find a wild phantump‚ it just fucking. stares. at you. and i was like. aha #i kinda remembered because of the test stream that i did. tumblr user alligayytorr (am i getting the right amount of Ys) said #“haha i am getting a sneak peek” when i zoomed the camera in on a phantump. and i remembered that. and i was like. i can utilize this #and ended up using just an in-game screenshot of SV in replacement of the regular content. later on‚ after that #once we got into gen 7 and it became less and less reliable to find models‚ i had to learn how to edit them manually to remove the shine #i am a software dev. not a 3d modeler. this ended up coming down to editing the code of the models directly (which i ended up writing a #script to automate). now‚ today‚ january 22nd (the day of me writing these tags and updating this post)‚ i remembered this post was in the #queue and was not normal. so i went back‚ ran the script on the phantump and trevenant models‚ and unshinified them #then edited these two posts to be normal. i have left the original pictures i took under the cut for reference and as bonuses #because i really enjoy phantump. so that's why those images are there‚ and that's why these tags are here #just for posterity's sake‚ the folks who come here mostly for my commentary‚ i've left the ORIGINAL tags of the post when i initially #made it with the SV pictures up at the top (i wanted to rearrange them‚ but tumblr makes that Very difficult‚ so i left them as-is)#so if these tags are confusing to read i Apologize. but i hope now that you're at the bottom you understand what happened #i'm gonna go edit the trevenant post now

I was kind of hesitant to post this, i though people might think I was faking but uhm- y e a h.

before: date, around February 2023 (it had been in that state, since 2022 though)

after: date, today! January 28th, 2024. Piece by piece and little by little I was finally able to put it back together! I was getting better around February and couldn’t stand it, but it took awhile because my body just didn’t wanna do anything still XD

I’m happy with my growth though! It’s not much ofc, my room is still dirty (paint on the floor, clothes piled on my dresser, some stuff still on my keyboard) but it’s definitely better than what I was originally in.

it’s not extreme like how other rooms usually are (which is not a problem at all) but idk, it still makes me happy

the worst part about flapjack's death is that luz and hunter's friendship died right along with it lmao

#idk it's just funny. TTT goes so fucking far in order to say that luz and hunter have built a strong bond between them #to the point that luz calls him family #then luz is the only one who refuses to fight possessed hunter #she only gets close to him to hug him and do the 'this is not you!' middle school couple trope on him #not only that but flapjack entrusts his powers for luz when he sees what's become of hunter and THAT is what she CHOOSES to do #you know. flapjack who was caleb's palisman. who was there for the entirety of caleb and evelyn's romance to the point that belos-#-considers him a symbol of caleb's betrayal (his love for evelyn)#this is the same flapjack that looks at phillip trying to harm 'caleb' again and decides to literally put his powers in luz's hands #and ultimately his sacrifice means neither caleb or evelyn have to die again #which is kinda confirmed by the way hunter goes like 'there's a reason you and i are alive and here right now and it's because-#-it's our turn to defeat belos' like i didn't even have to reach for this. hunter says it himself #and this is all great and compelling and makes sense except for the fact that the show just forgets about this on the next two episodes #and so where the first episode establishes that luz and hunter are close friends FTF and WAD are like 'do they even know each other?idk idc #and i get to stare at the camera because OBVIOUSLY if hunter and luz were a couple this wouldn't be a problem to begin with #and flapjack's death loses meaning when it turns out that nothing about evelyn or caleb or the previous confrontations between belos and-#-the other grimwalkers has any bearing in the plot anymore #flapjack gave its life to preserve the love that changed the world back then but because it's just never acknowledged it's like. who cares #someone had to die and we can't kill one of the kids #shrugs #sorry i have so much resentment in my heart #but do not get it twisted. it's HILARIOUS to me that TOH is at its most compelling when the lunter/witteclaw parallels are at its strongest #and then shoots itself in the foot when they realize that they paired off both characters with other people #okay that's all i have to say by now #lunter #is this anything

i just followed my cat down the hall to pet her, while all the lights are off (its 2 in the morning rn) and get suddenly reminded of my visual snow! trying to pet a black cat in a very dark hallway is already hard enough, forget the fact that ive got static everywhere making everything swirl around and straining my eyes... even once i got back to my room where i have a lamp on its still. eurgh. i feel like i need an adjustment period after being in the dark like that

#infinitely curious on what the dark actually looks like minus the static but. not really anything i can do about that #i mean. not like id be able to see in the dark anyways. but it might be a little easier if nothings blurring together #'idk my visual snow isnt THAT bad.' *steps into a very dark room* 'oh. ow.'#i feel like its worse when theres a bit of light as opposed to pitch black #bc like. at least with pitch black theres no shapes to be merging. when theres a bit of light it makes weird stuff happen #as you could imagine this also makes trying to sleep a little annoying. bc obviously closing ur eyes makes things dark #and so i also get plagued with swirly shit in my eyelids too! though its not always too bad #its funny that when i was a kid i thought the static was cool bc it was like how a camera will have static in the dark #but now that im an adult that not only knows what visual snow is but also has to drive. its. uh. annoying.#i do like how i never questioned the static as a kid though. i guess i thought everyone saw like that. up until 2021 i didnt think abt it #though at the same time i also was nearsighted and didnt realize. i didnt know you're supposed to see the world in HD #hm.

Ugh I just love it when movies/shows are a little older and still have this slightly grainy look and no one decided to slap a million weird filters and colours onto it

#people really need to stop slapping green or blue filters onto something and calling it cinematography #i get it if it creates an iconic look like in matrix or even twilight but everyone else needs to stay away from all these blues and greens #you're giving me headache #the alternative seem to be yellows which I also dislike but still usually prefer #you know what else I hate?#when the something is either completely drained of colour or the colours are turned up to a maximum #hate it hate it hate it #i even hate them for story reasons #i get that it's a flashback i have basic perception skills #no need to put a filter over it #so many older movies are so much more visually pleasing #and people will be like “oh but the audio/camera quality has improved so much since then” yeah I know and I HATE IT #i also like the tennis match dialogue in stuff like clueless or gilmore girls #and I hate when people criticise it for being unrealistic #IF I WANTED REALISM I'D JUST HO OUTSIDE #obviously there are some movies/shows/other visual media that have the purpose of reflecting reality #but sometimes it's okay for stuff to just exist for comfort and vibes #also fashion #we need to talk about fashion #90% of the stuff people wear in movies and shows now makes me want to throw up #there is no reason that the fashion in a movie from 2023 has to look more outdated then fashion from a mivie made in the 2000s #especially in “chick flicks”#not to stereotype but i guarantee you that there is an overlap between people who appreciate cute outfits and who like to watch chick flicks #obviously there are some aestheticly pleasing projects #but most of them look really high budget #when it's soo fucking easy to make somthing aestheticly pleasing woth a low budget #lean into it #and syay away from these goddam filters do a little bit of colour correction and leave it alone #aaaarrgg #do you think people in the next generation will find stuff from now “retro” and “aesthetic” (or what ever they call it then)?

im relistening to TMA and ive realized how nicely it could work as an AU for scryption.. the power struggle between the entities trying to reshape the world to their liking is very reminiscent of the scrybes trying to take control & alter the game & all the endless cycles of torture and everything lol

alright we're okay. it's all going to work out and happen. ive got my short film idea. i just have to make it absolutely perfect and then we're good to go

#my short film idea is a kinda sorta prequel kinda. to my Big Main Film Idea #essentially its just a little bit of silly backstory to a character that gets no backstory in the feature film #and this character is making a short film. and im playing the character. so im making a short film abt someone making a short film.#when i was first writing my Main Film Idea i was like ok yeah this character that im thinking of playing is obviously based on and like me #but as time went on i was like ah fuck. theres parts of me in every damn character #the good news is that this short film idea should be relatively cheap to make. im thinking of having only one filming location #and i could get a deal filming there bc i used to work there (my old cafe) so renting out the space might be cheaper #im not sure yet abt cameras. im thinking abt emailing my old film teacher and being like. hey. would you wanna help me make my film #i think he has some film cameras himself or if not he knows a lot of film people #but since this is essentially a one man (its me im the man) show i dont really need other actors. but im working on that #another problem of potentially many is that if and when this gets done. now what #ive got zero clue abt where to like. send my short film to be shown or whatever but maybe my film teacher could help w that!#before i do any of this i am going to finally finish that filmmaking course i bought. and then see where we go from there #but this still needs a lot of writing bc i havent done any screenplay work for this yet #and thus obviously havent storyboarded anything #i gotta get Organized <- least organized person on this earth #wish me luck that this will lead me on the path to my dream movie. we can all hope

kind of wish my way of coping with morbid things wasn't to expose myself to them until I become desensitised lol

#saw an iceberg for deaths caught on camera and was like. wow there is a LOT of information to look into and take in and none of it #is going to be nice. maybe i should leave and forget I've ever seen this #but no like obviously now i have no choice but to read in depth about every single death on there #bc i know if i ignore it i'll be thinking about it for longer #this was like with threads bc when i first heard a bit about it i was like. that sounds horrible. and i have a dissertation due in a few #weeks so like. i do Not need this on my mind right now #but that didn't do anything so in the end i had to watch it to get it out of my system #and then i guess it sort of worked bc?? now me and threads are besties #fav comfort film of all time. would recommend to everyone #okay not that. but genuinely i forget how bad i felt when i first read about it and now i think about scenes from it like 😐#is that healthy. probably not. anyway #also at the start of this year i was obsessed with kaylea titford's death and then not long after that shafilea ahmed's as well #that era feels so far away even though it was only like 8 months ago #but like e.g. with the shafilea ahmed thing i'm at the stage now where if it comes into my head i can easily push it away #but i could not do that back in february i literally wouldn't be able to sleep until i'd found out every single bit of information #oh god it's nearly the 20th anniversary of that isn't it #but yeah anyway it's like once you show me something morbid. even just a glimpse of it. that's it there's no going back #i will Not Stop until i know everything there is to know about it. and then it'll be on my mind for weeks until i stop feeling anything #and then i'll forget about it #i remember as kids me and my sister would sometimes see An Image on the unfiltered 2000s internet #like that one pic of the chupacabra that's obviously not real but like as a kid it's terrifying #and my sister's response would've been to close it and never look at it or think about it again #and i remember my parents wouldn't allow me to talk about chupacabras in front of my sister #which waS SO HARD bc my response to it was to hyperfixate #and the image creeped me out so to get rid of it i would look at it like everyday until i didn't feel anything anymore #and then me and the chupacabra image were besties <3 and I'd make jokes about it #idk what the point of this post is I've basically just told the same story three times #and there will soon be a fourth. once i watch this video going through the deaths caught on camera iceberg #which i am not going to do now bc it's 00:35 and if i don't sleep now i never will #ramble
