fic where after cas's confession and death, dean talks to him all the time when he's alone. just updates him on jack's goings on (bc jack stayed w his parents TO ME). he develops a life, gets a job, meets new people, and all the time he's just tellin cas about his day whenever he can, tellin him all the gossip at the garage, what new exercise routine sammy is putting himself through now, how eileen is settling in. and the people at the garage know about cas. not that he's dead, but that he's the great love of dean's life or whatever, not that he'd ever put it that way. it's just all over his face. learning to live a simple life. moving out of the bunker. planting a garden. tellin cas when his tomatoes are comin up good, how the mint is bein a little rascal, trying to spread to the other plantin pots, all of it. he lights a candle on september 18th. it's years before cas comes back

Eddie’s been thinking about that conversation with Shannon for years now, the one where she turned down his offer to be together again. He never got a chance to say his piece, he never got a chance to tell her everything he’s been feeling about her leaving and coming back until she left permanently, with no way back. He’s been holding on to that anger for years too, and if Shannon’s ghost gives him a second chance to do that like how Shannon’s letter gave Christopher some closure, it’ll be a chance for Eddie to finally move forward. He’s never going to stop loving or missing or mourning Shannon, but maybe now he can see past that grief into those parts of himself he’s been repressing.

#grief is a powerful powerful thing #it could destroy your ability to see the simplest of things and we’ve not even gotten to eddie’s catholic guilt #and eddie has been intimately familiar with grief for a long long time even before he set foot on that army base and long before shannon #his childhood and upbringing and his father not being there and eddie having to “be the man” #eddie’s example of a good man being his stoic and absent father and internalizing that #eddie thinking he needs to provide over being a partner to shannon #and more importantly that grief at having to grow up too fast and hide those parts of himself he thinks aren’t fit for himself #he’s already worked through a lot of his notions of father figures and fatherhood and you can see that with how he is with christopher #but those parts of himself he’s been repressing for decades now? #he’s not gotten there yet #to be fair that cloud of grief over shannon and the army and then shannon dying have hidden this well #and it’s only in that moment when a bullet pierced his chest and he saw his best friend with blood on his face that it parted briefly #i make zero sense now anyway yeah shannon’s ghost will make eddie reckon with some things the end #911 spec #911 abc #eddie diaz

So when the real Blackbeard was killed, his head was displayed as a threat to any pirates who may wander into the Chesapeake Bay. And that historical information makes me wonder if the whole “fake heads idea” is actually going to come back in the show as a final and grand fuckery.

Like, Stede already has experience with faking his death and getting people to believe that some random corpse is his. And maybe it‘ll show itself again when Edward is coming back to himself and wants to retire the name of Blackbeard once and for all.

So Blackbeard’s “head” is taken and displayed while Edward Teach gets to live on, getting to enjoy piracy with his love with all the pressure of his legacy off the table.

I enjoy Steddie immensely because, on the surface, it looks like it should be enemies-to-lovers or rivals-to-lovers but in reality it’s mildly-annoyed-we-were-trying-to-raise-the-same-kid-until-we-decided-to-do-it-together-to-lovers, and I think that’s beautiful.

idk if i can fully articulate this but i find it like, Interesting how often people seem to flinch away from the notion of a character having a genuine difficulty in academic settings that is caused by Intellect — how often people will seemingly try to get around the idea by writing something that amounts to, like “No this character is Smart, they just struggle with XYZ and if they were Accommodated for that, then they wouldn’t struggle in school” but it’s like,, why do they Have to be ‘smart’ though?

Dyslexia to Deliberate Self Sabotage but #no one seems willing to confront a ‘they just Genuinely Can’t Get It’ reading of the characters #it’s Always a ‘No they’re Really Smart BUT’ thing #like people are anywhere from reluctant to afraid to admit that some people Aren’t like that #note that i’m speaking generally in terms of academic settings which like. are a specific kind of environment that like. #doesn’t generally Do a good job of being actually indicative of how ‘smart’ a person is (just like IQ tests) #but the point still stands that - in essence - people are seemingly Very uncomfortable with the notion of intellectual disability #in any capacity — even in comparison to learning or developmental disabilities #like just look at how many people will Insist on bringing up the percentage of autistics with ‘higher than average’ IQ #with little to no provocation just in an effort to distance themselves from ‘those’ autistics

omfg chara is the funniest mother fucker in the whole room. i never realized just how badly i need chara and asriel on good terms content where they just joke around. like, oh my god, they're besties!

like we do get snippits of it in the comic but the plot is always barreling down at full speed so we just don't have time for them to be silly. happy to say the redraw absolutely fixes this.
