Ok, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with ur "anti-intellectual" point, but I would like to add my 2 cents to things. Firstly, percy is asked to dumb shit down bc there are multiple times when he's using, like, scientific terms that most ppl wouldn't understand so people litterally have to ask for him to dumb it down so they can explain. That exact scenario has happened to me. Also there is a time and place for infodumping and mid-disaster is not the time, coming from an autistic person. Secondly, I would argue that the reason he's withdrawn in MTMTE and whatnot isn't because he got told to shut up constantly, its b/c he's part of the Wreckers, and the Wreckers did and saw some fucked up shit and they're all fucking traumatized. Preceptor is withdrawn because he's traumatized, and trauma changes a person. If IDW were truly anti-intellectual then Brainstorm would have never gotten his redemption, for example. That's just my two cents, and also I would argue that Swerve is not a "jock." Swerve was a metallurgist, basically he helped protoforms form their bodies after a spark was placed in it, and that had to take a good degree of skill and intelligence. The tfwiki litterally says on his page "Despite this [him having a short attention span], he's quite intelligent and skilled as a metallurgist, analysing the properties of a material with unique sensors in his hands. When he gets caught up in a problem, he becomes almost laser-like in focus and intensity, going on quest after quest, both major and minor." There are a lot of characters that are a lot more intelligent than we would initially know, mostly in specific areas, you just have to read between the lines and not take them and their personalities at face value. That's all I'm gonna say, you are free to disagree, I just wanted to make those points :) I do agree that Prowl could have been handled better tho. The fact that, in his confrontation with Chromedome ,he's supposed to be the "bad guy," despite having EVERY REASON to be pissed at Chromedome, never sat right with me. Chromedome is litterally an asshole, he forcefully took prowls memories without his consent (which is extremely violating,) and I'm pretty sure he did it MULTIPLE times. Prowl litterally gets hurt so many times, like when he got FORCEFULLY MADE INTO A COMBINER (which I think is shown to hurt/traumatize him), and basically never gets any help whatsoever. Prowl DEFINIATELY deserved better. He can still be a rude little shit, just give him a support group and some therapy. Please. Let him have some friends, some healthy relationships, etc. :(

So, in my point of view, nothing you wrote there counters my opinion that the writing is anti-intellectual. Literally the back bone of the comics is the intelligent characters being the villains, the ultimate screw ups, smart people that only ever do dumb, crazy or bad things. They are comic relief. And when the stars should, they don't stop and listen to them.

Soldiers are not by in large stupid people. IDW has managed to portray them as such in a huge way. Most of the intelligence perceived in characters in IDW comes out in fanfic and fan theory more than in the action comics and that also makes my point in it being bad writing. Saying someone is smart as a writer but portraying them as a fool is awful storytelling, the showing vs telling argument.

The violent characters, the dumbass characters save the day, every fucking time. It's so tedious.

I admit to being extremely picky about writing. I was raised by an English professor. And I don't care if it's a comic, I expect something professionally published to do better.

ok so obviously no pressure but i've been meaning to ask all day: i want to start watching star trek (bc i need to get into classier sci-fi) but have absolutely no idea what to watch first...there are so many different versions man. i thought maybe since you like star trek i could ask you which series you like best so i could start there :P

!!!!! i am so excited i am bouncing up and down (though I dont know about classier scifi……it's mostly silly and hopeful, which is what I like about it, but i wouldn't necessarily call it classy lmao)

Ok so short answer is: Strange New Worlds if you want a peek into what's happening in here, or whatever vibes with you from the old shows, but probably The Original Series (TOS) (starting from the roots) or The Next Generation (TNG) (still from the roots but a bit more energetic bc its the 80s now) are best

Most of it is on the same timeline, but independent enough that you are safe to start with +- any series you like the premise of i think. That said, I am a big admirer of Strange New Worlds, which imo is the best of both worlds (hehe) in terms of inheriting all the good trek stuff and also being a modern production. It's monster-of-the-week, it touches upon cool topics, and generally just a good show. You might need to look up a bit of context bc it has a small tie to Discovery and I don't remember if they explain it enough within the show (I think they do, but I was also watching them in order so I am biased) (I am also willing to admit that I might generally be nostalgia-baited here bc it is a prequel to The Original Series, aka the very first one with Spock and Kirk etc, but I still believe it's a good show and a good place to start to get a feel of what it's like)

I watched trek in 2021, where i sat down and just got through all of the stuff that was out there in order of release start to finish in the span of something like 10 months? 11? i even had a spreadsheet to track my progress, and it was a bit of a mind-altering exercise (I remember emerging out of it like: where am i. what am i watching next. there is no trek left)

All of that is to say that The Original Series is an obvious place to start, but tbh I don't like it much. It is very fun and has a great cultural and historical significance etc, but for me it's way too slow-paced (small attention span girlie here) and, well. misogynistic. It's just very much a product of it's time I suppose. Though I do adore the original cast and my heart belongs to the og wacky alien designs

The Next Generation is better in terms of, well, speed: my brother once said that it resembles a radio spectacle, and he is not entirely wrong. The public seems to agree that the first season is a wash, but tbh I don't find it that objectionable (though i do seem to generally have All The Wrong Opinions, bc I like Enterprise which is apparently considered the worst series overall? Idk it has it's unfortunate moments but I disliked Voyager more) Generally, TNG is a good place to start I think if you want to go in a somewhat chronological order but The Original Series is too much: it's very similar in vibes but a lot more watchable I think.

The last option to start is Deep Space Nine, it's a bit of an add one bc I think they were trying to do something a bit new with it, and I have to say that it took me two seasons to warm up to the main cast (it's not necessarily bad, but I am used to opening up any trek and immediately having 10 new blorbos and that didn't happen there and I was Sad) BUT it is genuinely very good. It's a bit darker in places, has great themes, overarching plot arc, my favourite eugenics plotline, great cast. Basically it's a bit grittier trek for those who are tired of vanilla pink glasses trek. (it's not. actually gritty. it's pretty chill still) It's not a very obvious place to start, both in terms of it's less well-known, and, well, it's the 'one that's not like the others', which is a bit pointless when you don't have a feel of what the others are like, but I don't really know what your taste is and I think it's always better just to watch whatever part vibes with you most instead of aiming for some sort of completionism or whatever. Unless you want the popculture primer that is, then TOS or TNG are your boys

There is a lot of other stuff, but tbh I wouldn't rec it as a place to start for various reasons (Voyager I just plain don't like; Enterprise has a cool premise but it's about the very beginning of space exploration and is much less trek-y bc of it; most of the modern stuff is either not very good or relies heavily on old stuff, either in terms of being prequels/sequels/midquels or being genre deconstruction (like Lower Decks, which I think is great but it's a bit useless if you don't know what it's trying to deconstruct)

Sidenote about the new movies (2009-2016): I don't have anything bad to say about them, I think they were the first trek I ever watched, but they are also very much mid-tier blockbusters in a trek coat and not very trek-like. Are they enjoyable? absolutely. Will they give you a good idea of what trek is? Probably not. They're also the only ones on the alternative timeline, so they don't actually tie into anything before of after and thus aren't a great launching point.

Random non Halloween-related Halloween night cartoon rambles:

My sister recently recommended me All Saints Street and looking at the thumbnail on YouTube, the art style seems super cute! I watched the trailer and may give it a go soon :D. It’s up on my tabs, and I’m honestly curious how it is!! She said I might’ve liked it bc it’s slice-of-life. But I haven’t even gotten around to a close friend’s recommendation of Ousama Ranking, bc I am terrible with recommendations… I also forgot most of the anime movies I wanted to wanted T~T. Short attention spans are a curse :((

I have absolutely so so SO much to say about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventures, as I’m basically nearing the end of Season 3. But part 2 where Joseph is the hilarious protagonist has got to be my favorite??? It is just such a good mix of action and hilarity lololol. I really gotta thank the mix of BoBoBo, Bakuten Shoot, and pt. 2 JoJo for getting me back the feel of excitement from being a young kid who enjoyed cartoons mainly marketed towards boys and shonen anime.

The more I draw Bakuten Stuff thing, the more I wonder how Metal Fusion is. It’s the Beyblade series my SO, sister, and people around me generally refer to/remember. But all IK so far is that Gingka is the protag, the dub voice was a bit iffy for him, and little else?? Has anyone watched Metal Fusion — dub or sub?

The release of Wiglett makes me so happy!! Gosh, I would DIE for Wiglett (figuratively of course!). It’s such a cute pokemon aaaaa. And all the Wiglett and Diglett drawings I keep seeing on my feed give me such joy lololol.

And speaking of art, another thing I have to add is that I really really want to draw Kamisama Kiss art. I had a passing thought of it the other day, and though it’s a relatively old shoujo, I only found out about it last year! And watched + rewatched it a 2nd time within a single year. I may do a 3rd watch-through. It’s an oddly comforting anime?? And the traditional Japanese aesthetic and clothing of characters is so pretty!! I don’t know though if I can do much RN bc my anatomy skills are still a bit lacking (so I guess we will see?).

Lastly, I dropped a TON of Webtoons (reader’s burnout, slow/bad pacing, stories going in weird directions etc.) and I’ve been looking for new ones to read. But I haven’t quite felt much of a push towards the medium, and nothing seems to catch my eye or focus for long. It’s sorta sad seeing the direction the platform is going in tho. And tropes are not bad necessarily — not if you do them up well with the right amount of creativity. But since I was primarily drawn to the platform for romance stories, I realized some of the same tropes that sell to an audience have been rehashed so many times. And it’s not really fun anymore when you consider that romance is an already-oversaturated genre in any platform. Guess my desire for a good romance-oriented story may have to go to shoujo instead!!

Also wtf is going on with the Miraculous Ladybug fandom??? I dropped the show maybe 2 years ago (burnout, toxic writing, the fandom getting a bit crazy). But since it’s been trending, I keep seeing *SPOILERS* stuff about the love square reversing in Season 5??? Is there actually progression?!?!! Yooooo…. I really wanna see what’s going on. Like skipping the more irrelevant bits and jumping to plot. But I may not because I just feel so conflicted on the story, which has so so much potential, but is done kinda on iffy grounds.

I'm in the small camp of preferring the 5 minute version to the 10 minute version of All Too Well. At times, it feels like the song was made to accommodate the short film, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I just feel like the instrumental break could be better. I don't appreciate Jack Antonoff's fingerprints on the 10 minute version either, I really love the SNL performance and I kinda wish we got a version similar to that as a remix. Also, I feel like it's missing the effectiveness of the climax that the original holds. I definitely love the 10 minute version and I don't skip it or anything, I just appreciate the succinctness and more bittersweet mood of the album version.

I still prefer the 5 min ATW (TV) when I want to feel sad. (Which… lol… sometimes a girl wants to be sad okay?!) The entire thing is so bittersweet. Fondly remembering the happy times. Crying over the ending. Plus there is an added layer of bittersweet nostalgia for me now that the song is nearly a decade old. I’m remembering my OWN memories of first hearing it. It’s perfect for wallowing. The 10min ATW is for all other moods, so I listen to it more often. The 5min is special for those sad days.

18. Do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?

ive got a lot. the main reason is time, my schedule's been really tight these days and its hard to squeeze in some spare time for my hobbies and writing takes a lot of energy and time to do. plus my interests tend to leave bc of my short attention span and there's also writer's block and my dwindling motivation to finish some of them.

quick writing tip: cut down the amount of ideas you want to actively write and only focus on the ones you're either really interested to do or the one you're confident you'll be able to finish.

Yeah the show looked v diff in the og pitch but ‘anthology’ is not the right word. An anthology series “spans through different genres, and presents a different story and a different set of characters in each episode, season, segment or short”. This was never the plan for ST. The Duffers were originally going to do a mid-season time jump à la Steven King’s IT, where the characters aged up and finished the story that way. But Netflix made them change it bc they knew the audience would fall in love with the kids and want to follow their story, which we did. Obvs a lot of things from Montauk carried on to ST - Will going missing, Jancy and prob Jopper being endgame, the demogorgon, the lab, Will’s sexuality (implied) - but lots of things are diff as well - Steve & El dying, Lucas’ last name, Jonathan riding a moped 😂 - so yeah we can’t treat that as the base of the show.

I agree s1 is the best season story-wise and character-wise since it was so much smaller and more intimate, we rlly got the time to bond with each of the characters and they all had an interesting and important part in the story. S2 and s3 were still great to me, but nothing will match s1, altho it looks like s4 might come close. All seasons since have had big problem of adding more characters that didn’t do much but bloat the story, and don’t fill any actual needs of the story. I love Max and Robin very much, but Max’s sole purpose has been to create conflict btwn party members and tie the new bad guy to the party. I love her, but in scale of things she’s never rlly been relevant to the plot herself, until finally now. And Robin was originally a love interest for Steve, a character who didn’t need a love interest and isn’t rlly relevant to the plot either. Thankfully they changed this and made a real effort to make her an interesting character you’re almost glad to sacrifice everyone else’s screen time for, but still scoops troop wasn’t srsly necessarily to plot (I maintain that Murray, Joyce, and Hopper could’ve found a way into lab without them). And now with s4, at least Argyle fulfills a real need in show, giving Jonathan a friend, but idk how any of the other teens will work, and at least it seems like they’ll find a way to tie Peter into plot since beginning. Anyway, I think there is definitely plenty material to fill 5 seasons, but ST’s problem is with every season they keep moving further away from what ppl loved abt the show when it first came out: the intimacy, the high stakes, the equal attention on all characters with everyone getting a satisfying individual arc, the focus on familial relationships, the captivating mysterious and unpredictable story. I rlly hope ppl are right that s4 has more of this stuff. I know bigger and better is ST’s motto, but just bc the story and in-universe continues to expand doesn’t mean everything else has to expand too.

Ugh so agree and all comes down to your bolded thing—part of it is they just went all in with plot and lost character moments and exactly emotionally intimate scenes, and deepening things like with family relationships. I hope s4 allows for some of that but it also has sooo much plot to fit in that I wonder if we’ll get a lot of character moments, and any evenly distributed ones

hinata loving confession and getting together fics?? hmmm i am: seeing 👀 he likes the absolute fluff overload that comes with fics like those, especially if there are many things that lead up to the actual confession — misunderstandings, missed opportunities to actually do it. natsu has definitely thrown a pillow at him or something when he screamed just a little too loud when the characters got together.

kageyama and slow burn?? oh gosh the amount of frustration that courses through this guy’s veins when he reads them is unmatched yet he can’t tare himself away from the fic either, drinking up every single update like it’s water. has screamed at his phone and called characters “boke!” for failing to realize their feelings at least once during any fic. please he definitely would read ongoing ones abandon them oh no i relate :<<

akaashi definitely appreciates that bokuto is reading in the first place because well...he likes reading too so at least they have one more thing in common. even if fics aren’t necessarily his thing. though he won’t read them most of the time, he will listen to bokuto talk about his favorites ones and ask questions on plot and character. if he’s intrigued enough, he’ll ask bo not to spoil the ending and read it for himself 👁👁

indoor plants or gardens: depends on whether we’re talking in my place, or everywhere. If everywhere, both. If my place, none: i can’t be arsed to take proper care. also i’ve tried to have plants in pots and i tried to Do Things Right and it didn’t work out, so... i gave up. know thyself and thy limits etc

cloud-watching or star-gazing both yes both, as long as i have proper eye-protection from the sun for option 1.

water or fire ...uuuh.... watching a fire in a hearth etc (i mean, not Nero style, obv) is great? but the ocean too? i don’t understand T_T

paperback or hardcover hardcover: too heavy. but i often use an e-reader.

running or hiking: omg neither. running means dying lungs, Extremely Painful Knees, etc very quickly. Hiking is... idk, everything is bad: i get all the branches in my face, all the rocks start moving when i step on them, etc. Put me in a city and i can walk for hours; put me in nature and i #suffer. i have also been somewhat traumatized by people claiming “Oh come one it’s a small easy walk not even a HIKE” and it was in fact climbing up a small mountain with very narrow, gravely, unstable paths hugging the side of the mountain and if you stumbled, ti meant a fall so SOMEHOW i have become Extra Wary of the word “hiking”

sleeping with socks or without socks although with wouldn’t be a problem. i use a hot water bottle in winter.

fruit or vegetables fruit only if i can use them in a salad, or cook them LIKE a veg.

hanging plants or succulents see above re indoor / outdoor plants. succulents also mean repotting etc; they’re not care-free.

dark wood or light wood both yes both. i have both at home, in the same room.

handwritten or typed typed is way easier to read. ofc if we’re talking postcard, personal letter etc, handwritten is more pleasant, personal touch etc. my handwriting is terrible, btw.

instagram or pinterest: neither. who wants to see my face or what i eat? no one, not even me. pinterest: i don’t even really understand what it’s for apart from thing to filter out of my google & co searches.

braids or pigtails: on me, neither. my hair refuses (because length when it’s short, because it’s not thick enough if not, and in any case it just Won’t Stay In Place)

dc or marvel i’m not super familiar with DC, although Batman is my kind of character.

books or movies why would i choose? my attention span has drastically reduced since childhood, but it means it affects both.

oceans or meadows: meadows > flowers > sneezing.

forests or fields: see meadows above

sweet or salty oh yeah i’m def not one for sugar.

ice cream or chocolate you... you (person who created this) do know there’s chocolate ice-cream, right? but i’ll go with DARK chocolate. DARK only, 70% cocoa minimum. i can accept salt / pepper / coffee / mint if i MUST, in it. D A R K

hoodies or sweaters: tbh both but a hood is def good at times.

piercings or tattoos: i have or want neither. they’re cool on other people, but i don’t really feel a need for myself. If for other people, both, if for myself, neither.

summer or winter well, the cold is easier to deal with than the heat because once you’re naked you can’t take your skin off, but longer sunlight is good? probably??

cars or motorcycles: public transportation ;-) but i have a licence for cars only, not motorcycles.

curls or straight hair: i have curls, if that is the question; on other people, idgaf

castles or cottages to visit? to live in? i mean, castles are super expensive to maintain... and what kind of castle? European Middle Ages? even among those, there is a Wide Variety in architecture. if we’re including more geographical & historical areas...

sunny days or storms: once again, *bafflement* storms are really cool to watch but can be destructive, and sunny days can be too hot or painful if i don’t have sunglasses but are pleasant if mild...

reptiles or birds: as pets neither. i don't want to be responsible for a living thing, and end up not caring for them properly because i’m too tired / not in the mood etc. otherwise, i’m totally cool with both. however... birds are dinosaurs are reptiles (private joke moment!!! @pixelbypixelfanfic do you remember that museum). a baby bird pooped on my once, idk if that counts. oh and i got adult bird poop on me too. this hasn’t happened, yet, with reptiles.

disney or nickelodeon: (what about if you’re not the USA) i have never been into what we think of Disney (princesses and THE CONSTANT SINGING), and don’t have nickelodeon here

strawberries or watermelon: well i’m not into fruit or sweet things, as previously established. Watermelon can go into salads, and strawberries one in a while are okay i guess?

essays or posters... i don’t understand. posters go on wall? do you people put essays on walls??? what IS the question *sobs*

phones or laptops or desktop desktop because big screen, big keyboard, separate mouse: more comfortable. if not, laptop. if i’m desperate and far away from both, phone.

glass or stone i drink in glasses, i wear glasses, i have Pretty Decorative Stones. ik, what are we talking about?

dark or light: if it’s a computer screen setting, dark. if we’re in winter and outside, light, otherwise it’s too cold. i need context!!1!1!1!

photos or paintings: uuuuh. i have a few paintings from my grandfather around, but not photos. that's, um. i mean. photos... that’s... old? or are we talking about stuff that stays on your hard drive? i have a bunch, from trips. as long as my face isn’t there, cool; i take them to remember. i’ve found that the action of taking the pic was enough to help me remember, not necessarily looking at them again: because i make the conscious decision of taking the pic, thinking about what i want to preserve,et c, somehow it sets the brain drive into memory mode, at last better than if i didn’t take pics.

circuses or theatres: neither; RL, live shows make me uncomfortable.

reading or writing i do both but i only write fanfic.

dogs or cats i like both, i would have neither.

poetry or novels poetry just leaves me cold. i know, i know, how dare i.

monsters or ghosts why choose?? (shaniac though)

thrift shops or libraries: i like browsing through thrift shops, and i’ve lost my voracious Real Grownup Book reading obsession that i had in my younger years. i like looking at silly mugs and cute objects and sometimes i’ll buy something, and Do Good at the same time when they’re charity shops!

fiction or non-fiction both, although these days fiction is mostly fic.

Hinata: bc he's short haha JK but he's also just always on the move and ends up moving ahead of everyone else that by the time he looks up he's in the middle of like a macy's or smth

Osamu: he's not lost necessarily, but he does follow his nose. you'll find him somewhere in the food court circling around and around the same stalls for samples

Bokuto: look he has such a short attention span he sees something in a window and just woosh he's gone. don't walk by a lush or bath & body works jfc

Ushijima: it's rare but sometimes he'll start reading an advert and will just...stop while you keep walking & when you look back he's gone. or he's like kags & is examining all the equipment in the sports store

Yamagata: bro this guy,, so he ends up losing his phone, probably when he and the other guys were eating at the food court, so he has no way to contact anyone else or look up directions when he's left behind looking at the cool sneakers LMAO he ends up just going back to the train/bus station and waiting 💀

Hoshiumi: he's a man on a mission and that mission is looking at everything that piques his interest. bro that tunnel vision means he doesn't even remember how he got where he is. v similar to Hinata but he's too proud to ask for directions so he keeps browsing acting like everything is fine until the shops are closing and the shopkeepers are all "um, sir, we closed 10 minutes ago you have to leave" hirugami pls rescue him (he won't)

Kenma: he's not paying attention. nose in games at all times (unless you're in the game store, then he's just looking at the games pff). if someone doesn't guide him around by the arm he will be left behind. and he won't even care he'll just pop a squat and wait (literally what he was doing when he first met Hinata)

3) If you could have one superpower, what would it be? oooh, I’m really torn. teleportation obviously or time control, but not necessarily to jump through time, but to slow it down, speed it up. both would seriously change my life for the better... like I could properly enjoy things in life??? insanity.

79) What was the last book you read? Did it impress you and why? the last book I read fully (I stop books mid-way too often bc I have the attention span of a peanut) was probably The Friend by Sigrid Nunez. I have an emotional support dog, so I was really in my feels for so many parts. the characters weren’t too engaging, but it was a nice, short read. loved the ending!

91) Perfect date idea? I do love me some activity dates like amusement parks or hiking, but generally I’m simple. let’s go take a long, scenic drive while listening to tunes and chatting about everything under the sun. have a picnic. take a walk. just enjoy each other’s company and all. I’m so boring lol

yeeee this is the one abt the relationship scenarios ;)))

i highly recommend checking out the previous parts first, if not this might be kinda hard to follow

between me and my 1.5 braincells we're trying really hard y'all so pls go easy on us show some support ;_;

(oh yea a heads-up no ships are decided yet so treat all these relationship scenarios as hcs (yea imma make AUs inside an AU lmfao))

tw: (1 mention of) homophobia, referenced past abuse, bullying (??)

1. fugio

the first scenario that popped into my head is that Fugo and Giorno go to the same university (for some reason Gio's parents can afford to send him there, idk he probably got financial aid or sth, and then after he killed them (😳 awkwardddd) he's probably using their life insurance in fear of it running out). and Fugo doesn't really care for Gio bc he's a rich boye and he has his quality™️ elite friend circle so why bother himself w a nobody. but in reality all of Fugo's friends are either only on a social level (u know those ppl who you're friends w but u won't necessarily have deep convos w them or choose to hang out w them n stuff), or they're fake and only hang out w him bc of his wealth & status, or bc their rich parents are friends. plus (im referring to the anime backstory here), after the scandal w that professor who sexually harassed him, many ppl secretly hate him and talk shit abt him behind his back due to homophobia.

but anyway, Fugo's plotting against all those biches :) so where does Giorno come in? Gio, being this innocent poor boy who doesn't have a home to go back to, lives on dorm. and let's just say Fugo does too bc he doesn't have the best relationship w his demanding parents, so he was overjoyed when he finally talked them into letting him move from home into the dorms instead. (side note he prolly doesn't Purge his parents bc he needs their money.) so Gio and Fugo know of each other, but not acquaintances or anything.

and then

one day when Fugo's either

running into trouble with some authority figure at school again

just minding his own business and planning his Purge targets

Gio walks in on him, and he's either like

"omg Fugo r u ok do u need help what happened"

"omg Fugo idk what happened between u and ur targets but Purging ain't good, pls reconsider"

and Fugo, having the short-ass fuse that he does (plus probably having his pride wounded and just general mistrust of the ppl around him spurring him on):

"stfu u know nothing about me, but now you've seen this i guess it wouldn't hurt to kill you too"

"stfu u know nothing about me, ur probably one of those happy asshats that have no need for Purges, reconsider?? haha the only thing i'll reconsider is if i'll add u to my kill list" (bc if Gio reports him or sth, Fugo & his fam can get into trouble, since his targets are probably rich and/or influential ppl, but it isn't Purge time yet, so it can be considered malicious intent and/or attempted murder i guess, and so anyone who has any beef w the Fugo fam can bring them down) (i know nothing abt law don't come for me)

and then Gio is like "fuck dis shit im out" and he skrts tf out of there, but sadly Fugo ain't lying 😔 the day of the Purge comes, and Giorno was just trying to barricade himself inside his dorm room when suddenly, Fugo pulls an FBI OPEN UP and breaks inside using all his high-tech weaponry n stuff (i'll share my hcs for chara design later!!). Gio is freaking out so he jumps out the window into the streets, even risking going outside during Purge just so he can get away, but oh 🅱️oy is Fugo stressed tonight. and he literally hunts Gio down and almost kills him

uNTIL!!!¡!

2. abbacchio & giorno:

(SORRY I JUST LOVE DADBACCHIO & GIORSON SO MUCH)

Abbacchio is tasked w hunting down a certain rogue criminal, so he's la-di-da cruising thru Naples to get to Bucci's house, when suddenly this fucking kid comes running up to him with his hair and clothes all messed up and tears running down his face, and is like "pls help me sir i beg u i just need somewhere to hide pls i don't want to do this i don't want to die" and Abba's like "fuq??" but then he hears manic laughter and chainsaws revving and shit, and the kid sniveling all over his crisp™️ Purge suit looks like he can explode with fear at any moment (and plus Abba understands that nobody would ever run up to another person for help during Purge like this, unless it's really their last option), so he sighs, "fine. get behind me."

the kid drops to his knees and Abba can't help but think "aaahhhh fucking dead weight", but he said he'd help, so that's what he's gonna do. now ANOTHER kid rounds the corner but he barely looks sane, he seems almost possessed by something. *fighting ensues* but being a professional cop Abba knocks the kid out cold w a few swift moves, and when he drops to the ground that crazy expression finally leaves his face. he's already wasted too much time, so Abba turns to Kid 1 and is like "go back home brat and dont get into trouble again", but Kid 1 is still a trembling mess on the ground, and he says "i don't have any home to go back to."

subconscious Abba's like "well that's between you and god" but he knows he's basically this kid's god now (besides, there can't possibly be a god that would let things like Purges happen), so he's like, "fine. get in the car and DON'T get in my way" but THEN Kid 1 points to the passed-out demon child, "but we can't leave him here"

A: "he was gonna KILL you!!"

K1: "i know but he didn't mean it, he was just not thinking straight"

A: "Purges ain't where ppl think str8 kid, besides if he didn't really wanna Purge he wouldn't have geared himself up that well"

K1: “but he’s not a bad person. please, if we leave him out here in this state he’ll be killed for sure.”

at this point Abbacchio can't understand wtf Kid 1 is thinking, but for the first time in years he finds some of the humanity he was hoping to regain in Purge, so he's like "fine. haul him into the backseat. but you're sitting with him bc i got my shit in the front. and if he wakes up you're dealing w it this time. cool?"

Kid 1 nods, and surprisingly he has enough strength to shove Kid 2 into the backseat & get in after him. Abba is trying to decide what he wanna do w these kids, when his phone suddenly beeps, and in comes a new message from his superiors, "yo dawg u gotta hurry up and kill that Bucciarati guy, we'd better not catch u slacking" and he's like "yo Kid 1, can u fight?"

"uh, a bit. why?"

"well, that's what you're gonna do for me in return for my protection."

anywhooooo i imagine that later on, Fugo wakes up like "ugh wtf hello concussions????" and he sees Gio standing over him, and he snaps into defensive mode, sitting up and shoving Gio away and everything. but then he sees that Gio's hands are empty, save for maybe a bottle of water and a towel, and somehow Fugo's own wounds are all cleaned and bandaged, and he groans:

"dude, what the fuck are you doing? did i pass out? did you find help?"

G: "you got hit over the head pretty hard, don't move so suddenly."

F: "haha yea thanks i can feel that myself, anyway wtf were you doing?"

G: "uhhhhh... abbacchio patched you up but your face was really grimy so he told me to clean you up, and maybe give you some water?"

F: "no. i mean like what the fuck were you doing????? braincells hello?? kill me! i should be dead!!! is Purge over?? did the sirens go off before you can finish me?"

he suddenly notices how Gio just recoils and sits there with his eyes squeezed shut as Fugo shouts at him and flings his arms around. but he's seen how Gio defended himself against him, so he knows this guy can fight and is no stranger to Purges. this is the first mystery his 152 IQ has encountered in a long time, so Fugo reaches out to get Gio's attention, but then Gio jumps and slaps his hand away so hard Fugo feels his bruised brain jar. he pulls back immediately, holding his hands up, palms forward, finally kind of able to pierce together what's going on inside the blond's mind:

"sorry. wasn't gonna attack you. just... wasn't sure if you were listening to me, so i tried to get your attention."

"i was."

"okay. sorry." Fugo tries, but Gio is already standing up and leaving, glassy green eyes looking anywhere but at him. "wait! Gior— ugh??"

he almost faceplants the ground again. where's my stupid-ass helmet???? i need to be on balance mode stat. but then Fugo feels two arms helping him up, and he looks up to see Gio, frowning in distaste but still supporting him all the same. he feels bad for asking (as if he hasn't bothered this poor guy enough): "uh, so, what exactly happened while i was passed out?"

oh, honey...

BUT PLOT SPOILERS SO THIS ENDS HERE!!!!!! xD

ya know i might actually go w fugio after all :00 but if i do end up writing this, it will span over 12 hours / 1 Purge only, so even if there are ships they'll probably only be implied, instead of madly into each other by the end of everything :P

Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: i do not write multi-chapter stories anymore, i did when i was younger (i’m sure some of them are still up on ff.net) but lately i just don’t have the attention span (plus i write more original stuff lately and all my longfic energy goes into uhhhh attempting to write novels)

Favorite Story You’ve Written: currently it’s something more than nothing (the magnus archives, jon/tim). it’s the longest complete work i’ve written in AWHILE and it took me awhile to write it but i’m actually happy w how it turned out, which is NOT always the case

Story You Were Nervous to Post: gdksjfghsjkfd my first baseball fic i literally created a ship tag and had never posted rpf before. that was nerve wracking

How You Choose Your Titles: it’s usually a song lyric or a short phrase from within the fic itself

Complete: I have 54 works on ao3 right now

Incomplete: i don’t post incomplete works on ao3 but i do have a couple in the works that aren’t done yet

Do You Outline: for fanfic, no, not usually - simply because USUALLY the fic can be done in 10K or less and i can see it all from start to finish in my head. (original fiction is another story lol)

Coming Soon / Not Yet Started: mmm i’m kind of in that weird “wtf am i writing next” phase of writing. i’ve been working on some original stuff lately tbh that’s taken me away from fanfic, BUT i do want to write a sort of Magnus Archives roleswap fic involving archivist!sasha, not!jon sims, and melanie king as sasha’s ex-girlfriend from college, which might end in a sasha/melanie/georgie polyship. i also have vague aspirations to write more jon/tim but i don’t really have concrete ideas at the moment (well, i have the glimmer of one, but we’ll see). i’m fandom-hopping a lot lately so i’m toying with an idea for an Adventure Zone fic, but again, we’ll see. i also REALLY want to get back to this Exorcist fic i’ve been sporadically touching on for like a year (about marcus and tomas being forced to reunite when casey rance asks them to officiate her wedding).

Do You Accept Prompts: i have before and would again, BUT the thing is a lot of the stuff i like to write doesn’t necessarily match up with what the fandom wants to read (in any fandom lol, i have a tendency to latch onto less popular pairings). so the answer is yes....but the quality of the work i create based on prompts is usually not my best and i often don’t have as much fun because people prompt me stuff i would never normally write

Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited To Write: the archivist!sasha fic - like, i really do want to write it but i’m intimidated bc it’ll be a long one (by my standards), probably at LEAST as long as “something more than nothing” and it’ll be more complicated than that so....i can’t make promises on when/if that will actually happen
