Hey, Portland folks! Curious Gallery hasn't yet arisen from its ashes, but another great local event is returning for a one-day appearance! GEAR Con, Portland's Steampunk convention, will be featuring a day of mad art, weird science, and adversarial tea-time (attention, tea duellers!) this upcoming Saturday, September 30, from 12pm - 9pm. Festivities will be held at Experiment PDX, 1421 SE Stark Street. More details at PDXGEARCon.com
Apparently the Northwest passage song is a uniquely Canadian thing and not everyone grew up haunted by the spectre of failed historical arctic exploration, and so all the tumblr posts about ppl suddenly discovering the terror make more sense
I lied, yes I did
I never understood
How I should treat myself
I swear I meant well
That night when you hid
You told me this was good
I told you what I felt
The words came out like
“I will miss you, I won’t go” but they
Fell through every open wound
So why did I wait?
It took eleven days
I guess I like this chase
Or I’m complacent
I said I need time
You told me that was fine
Well I guess you fucking lied
The words came out like
“You won’t miss me, you don’t care
I was so scared, why weren’t you there?”
Why can’t you love yourself?
Why can’t you love yourself?
Why can’t you love yourself?
Why can’t you love yourself?
My friends released an EP last night and the fucking energy at the release show was insane, whole crowd singing along and moshing so hard we broke some 1/4" cables oops ;P
This has been an ear worm for...*checks time*...just shy of 24 hours.
Seriously.
I've been playing it almost non-stop on loop when in the house.
My cat is probably sick of it. Then again, he's probably used to Mommy's ear worms.
I blame three things:
a) It's a genuinely catchy song.
b) Colm McGuiness is just amazing. Period. End stop. No seriously - this guy has a range down to low bass and can do a flawless American accent on top of this. *points to link*
c) @o-rchidae YOU AND YOUR FLOODING MY DASHBOARD WITH TERROR STUFF YOU! I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO DRAWN TO LISTEN TO THIS NEW SONG IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOU! I HOPE YOU FEEL SUFFICIENTLY GUILTY!
