"Quite the bruises you've got there." "Didn't you hear?" Nat's dandy tone was second nature at this point, easy to use and thick as treacle. "Purple and green are all the rage this year in Sirap, and everybody knows Sirap makes the fashions." The pirate blinked, head flinching back for just an instant. "And what family member of yours has taken you to Sirap?" Nat laughed, tilting their chin up to expose their throat, even as their heart thundered against their sternum. This was a more dangerous game than any Nat had played before. "Silly pirate, you don't need to go to Sirap to hear about the fashions. That's what magazines are for." "Fucking dandy," Felitabby snarled. The animosity didn't matter. Nat didn't care. Or at least couldn't devote any time to that stab of rejection. They had a role to play here, as surely as they did at home. "Who are you?” the pirate demanded. “And for that matter, since you clearly know, who is he?" "Aw, Peaches," they teased gently, touching a finger to the pirate's crooked nose, ignoring the way even that little motion sent a burning ache up their arm. "You don't get to just ask a dandy something, you have to make an offering first." "You do not seem afraid of being hurt." "Let's be honest here, Peaches. If you want to hurt me, you will." "But you can do things to alleviate the risk." "No." Nat shook their head, eyes landing on the pirate's scuffed boots. "That's just what people like to tell you. To convince you that their choice is your fault. Ultimately, you have decided already whether you are willing to hurt me or not. My own actions have little to no say in the matter. Why scrabble for the desperate attempt to prevent a pain that will come either way? Why delay what could happen now?" They met his eyes, the same colour as the lantern light and lowered their voice to a whisper. "If you want to kill me, pirate, you might as well get it over with and use it to instil fear in the others." "You are not afraid?" "Now, I didn't say that." Nat let out that practised, dandified laugh again. "I'm in a cell on a pirate ship with three supposed allies who hate my guts. Only a fool would be unafraid. And I may be many things, pirate, but I am not a fool."

I assume we've all seen and exploded over Heartstopper, yes? If not, I hope you'll move it up on your watch list! It's a spoonful of pure queer joy. If you're chasing that buzzy, heart-swelly feeling Heartstopper gave you, I hope you'll give The One True Me and You a shot! Similar vibes, big queer triumph, leaves you with a smile and a warm heart just like the show. Some very exciting things coming up in the next few weeks, including another book release! This time it's my middle grade debut, Player vs. Player, and I'll have finished copies to show you soon! #heartstopper #yaromcom #queerromcom #theonetruemeandyou #queerjoy #lgbtqya #queerya #heartstoppertv #ifyouliked #yalit #yaromance #queerromance #nonbinary #enby #enbybooks #nonbinarybooks #yabookstagram #queerbookstagram #nonbinarybookstagram #mkengland — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/uaQHYR1

Book Review: #Outlawed by @annanorthtweets. I loved this novel—it blows the western genre right out of this world. https://suanneschaferauthor.com/book-review-outlawed/ Read with #WhiskeyWhenWereDry by John Larison. @BloomsburyPub

Megan Whalen Turner's The Queen's Thief is an infinite metaphor for everything I know to be true about love and life and loyalty. About forgiveness. About never giving up on our love for others in the face of massive fear and those other's attempts to take it all from you. But only because of their own fear. And their own loyalties. About seeing the highest good in everyone no matter how they appear on the surface. About seeing the one who dances beneath the orange trees in everyone we meet. I read the Queen's Thief like Christians read their bible. Every line breathes truth and the growing merge of humanity and divinity in one person and how he brings everyone into his orbit. With what this series has meant to me... It was such a gift to make the trip out to meet the author herself and be up close to her wisdom and integrity and her unique, one of a kind, next-level circle of fans. I wouldn't lift a finger for a lot of popular works out there that I have a decent amount of appreciation for. This is really something else. *************************************************************** @meganwhalenturner thank you for coming to hang out with us and for doing all the fangirl stuff for us like book signings and photos. Really going the extra mile, gifting each of us a new copy of a book to add to our collections, signing not just one but all the book copies we brought with us! I personally read your books from a deeply spiritual place. Eugenides has shown me what is possible around a human learning to embody divinity on Earth. No amount of harm to the flesh can undermine the foundation of unconditional love. I feel like the aspects of his character that are miraculous in nature are metaphorical for a lot of the miracles that I have witnessed in my own life.
so I thank you. for providing that kind of anchor and reflection and chance to better understand my own inner truths through your characters and your universe. #nonbinarybooks #nonbinary #literature (at Cleveland Public Library) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnmN11KF7pL/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1jigvzukgpe5m

I requested and received an ARC on Netgalley. Thank you to Stone Arch Books. Oh how i loved it, an how i wish i had a physical book to read to my kids. They mention « The prince and The Knight » a book that my 5yo love and that i had read for my kids at work for Valentine’s day theme. This book is about Riley, who they are, what they love. I loved seeing how Riley started to give their opinion and helping other kids at school coming up with ideas on what do to for costume day. I also loved the way Riley question themselves when they realized others are coming to them for ideas. They took the time to learn what the other person like, the pertinent information in order to help them come up with something that they would like to wear. Instead of giving their opinions and telling others what to wear, Riley help them find out. This is a +++ in childhood development. Such a great example. I loved the fact that we had definition at the start of the books to better understand labels, and word that most kids might not understand. I also adore the question at the end of the books. Riley gender wasn’t the main focus of the book but rather the adventure leading to Costume day. It gives me so much hope seeing book like this being written and available for lgbtq+ people. We love seeing a positive environment where we can all be accepted for who we are and love. As a childhood educator who is queer herself i was so happy. I will pick it up in English so we can read at bedtime but also please please if we can have it in french( we are a francophone family and i know my kids will adore the book) #nonbinarybooks #lgbtqia #lgbtqiabooks #childrenfiction #queergraphicnovels #queerbookstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CbqHlr-Owiq/?utm_medium=tumblr

This blog makes me so happy!! I'm a nonbinary PhD student studying immunology and I am so excited to find more nonbinary people in STEM fields. Some times I feel so very alone in it.
Thank you!
I was kind of surprised when I couldn’t find anything for nonbinary folks in STEM. I mean, I kinda wasn’t, but I thought that out of all the nonbinary support/resource/etc blogs out there, one for people in STEM would be one of them. Not gonna lie, though, it’s pretty exciting to be the (as far as I know) first blog of its kind. ^_^
Well, I hope you meet plenty of nice people through this blog! I know it’s already helping me feel less alone. :)

Part 5 of random books from my LGBTQIA+ book masterlist, where you can filter by genre, representation, relationship, target age group, and more.
❤️ Several of the books on this list are self-published or do not get a lot of recognition, so I thought, what better way to share than use a random number generator to grab 3 books at a time and share them with all of you!
💛 For right now I am focusing on the first in a series or books that can be read as standalones. I also try to skip over any that might be blatantly harmful.
💚 So what do you think? Think you will be adding any of these books to your TBR?
📖 Pack of Her Own: ?/5⭐(Unread) 📖 Love Me for Who I Am: ?/5⭐(Unread) 📖 Court of the Undying Seasons: ?/5⭐ (Unread)

I took a bunch of photos from the event and deleted the blurry ones. And now I’m gonna post all of them because who am I to say which ones are “best”?  I think there’s something good and precious in all of them. In the slightly deeper tilt of a head. In the blink of an eye. In the relaxing of tensing of a smile. In the in-character un-smile. (you’ll get tagged a few times… Isabel~  I can relate much to “having no chill” about certain things…)
It was riveting meeting each of you. I’m thinking of those who were there in spirit too. Till we meet again…

💕That cover thooooough!💕 Can you believe how hard @bookcoversbyoj and @_katiesmith_illustration_ completely NAILED this? My babies look so *happy* and that just means... everything. Full description: One small fandom convention. One teen beauty pageant. One meet cute waiting to happen. Up and coming fanfic author Kaylee Beaumont is internally screaming at the chance to finally meet her fandom friends in real life and spend a weekend at GreatCon. She also has a side quest for the weekend: ✨Try out they/them pronouns to see how it feels ✨Wear more masculine-presenting cosplay ✨Kiss a girl for the first time It’s… a lot, and Kay mostly wants to lie face down on the hotel floor. Especially when her hometown bully, Miss North Carolina, shows up in the very same hotel. But there’s this con-sponsored publishing contest, and the chance to meet her fandom idols… and then, there’s Teagan. Pageant queen Teagan Miller (Miss Virginia) has her eye on the much-needed prize: the $25,000 scholarship awarded to the winner of the Miss Cosmic Teen USA pageant. She also has secrets: 👑She loves the dresses but hates the tiaras 👑She’s a giant nerd for everything GreatCon 👑She’s gay af If Teagan can just keep herself wrapped up tight for one more weekend, she can claim the scholarship and go off to college out and proud. If she’s caught, she could lose everything she’s worked for. If her rival, Miss North Carolina, has anything to do with it, that’s exactly how it’ll go down. When Teagan and Kay bump into one another the first night, sparks fly. Their connection is intense—as is their shared enemy. If they’re spotted, the safe space of the con will be shattered, and all their secrets will follow them home. The risks are great… but could the reward of embracing their true selves be worth it? #yacontemporary #yaromcom #lgbtqreads #gayya #otmy #theonetruemeandyou #mkengland #remikengland #coverreveal #booknerdigans #yalovin #wednesdaybooks #yaromance #lgbtqromance #nonbinary #enby #nonbinarybooks #lgbtqreads — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/3eUJqhw

Can't believe it's been one whole week since The One True Me and You came out! It's been a wonderful week full of love and tiredness, and I truly appreciate everyone who's given this little book a bit of their time. I've got five events left in March! The three virtual events are scheduled to accommodate US West Coasters, International folks, and US East Coasters who couldn't do the weekday evening events. I hope there's something here that'll work for you. 💜 If you're in Virginia or North Carolina, the two in-person events on the second slide are going to be SO FUN. If you've never been to the VA Festival of the Book before, you should definitely check it out. Always packed with great events, so well run, and lots of covid precautions. The UNC talk is going to be IN A PLANETARIUM, which is just rad. I can't wait to talk about mental health, queerness, and nerdiness in all my books. Hit the link in my bio for details on all the events! Text from the images will be in the comments. due to length. #authorevents #bookevents #theonetruemeandyou #brittalundin #amandaquain #jamiepacton #ambermcbride #halligomez #mysteriousgalaxy #onemorepagebookstore #uncsils #instagramlive #mkengland #remikengland #lgbtqya #queerya #queerbookstagram #yabookstagram #yaromance #yacontemporary #nonbinarybooks #nonbinaryya #nonbinaryauthor — view on Instagram https://ift.tt/g7LyUz2
