The real question is which of my OCs doesn't need a hug. Unfortunately none of them will be getting hugs from me because hugs are a sensory nightmare but if I may forward your hug to them I think it would either be:

Blue from Welcome To Humanity who does, to be fair, have some people to hug in canon but poor Blue spends the whole book having their humanity called into question so extra hugs would certainly be appreciated. Also Ravi from Welcome To Humanity, he's supposed to be a pawn in somebody else's game but he ends up feeling for the people he's supposed to be fighting against.

Nat from Not That Kind Of Dandy, if they'd let you, which is in question because it's not appropriate in high society. But what high society doesn't know won't hurt them so as long as nobody finds out.

And finally Billie from upcoming Claretbury Chronicles. Billie is alone, has been completely alone for 16-odd years and it's eating away at them.

my favorite example of transferable skills in fiction regardless of how realistic it is are people who work with textiles (sewing, tailoring, etc.) being asked to help stitch a wound or perform surgery. oh you can mend a hole in a shirt? mend a hole in this guy then. it's basically the same thing just with more blood and screaming.
