My headcanons for a 2024(ish) House MD (self indulgent sorrysorry)

- House is canonically bisexual, and instead of hookers (or maybe as well as) he’s very open about his Tinder/Grindr hookups.

- Wilson is still a closet case, somehow. All his friends are queer, he is very active as an ally, but has somehow not figured it out. He even has little pride flags in his office pencil holder.

- Cuddy is a lesbian, she and House still flirt for funsies (worth noting I think her and House still had a one night stand in college before she came out, prompting a running joke that sex with House turned her into a lesbian)

- Chase goes viral on twitter (X) when he starts live tweeting House’s antics during DDx’s (his handle is @thataussiedoc and all his DDx tweets are tagged #mycrazyboss)

- The ducklings make tiktok videos when they don’t have a case. The first time House catches them they are expecting him to call them idiots or throw them out of the DDx room, but instead he joins them. Cue House doing a hilarious tiktok dance.

- Non-binary Thirteen my beloved

- Foreman plays Pokemon Go

- House gets a Nintendo Switch for his office so he can game in there, and when forced to go do clinic duty switches to handheld mode

- House and Kutner will game together when they don’t have a case

- There is a PPTH Diagnostics Dept. Discord server

- Foreman hates Apple products

- Cameron has one of those rainbow pins that says “you’re safe with me” she wears on her white coat

- House learns Gen Z slang and spends an entire episode talking exclusively in it - and everyone else is left trying to piece together what he’s saying

- House is canonically autistic but it only comes out during “Lines in the Sand” or similarly themed episode. I feel like either Chase or Foreman get snippy during the DDx and makes a muttered, offhand comment about House, something to the effect of “yeah well maybe you have autism too” and House is like “well duh.” They spend the rest of the episode approaching the other ducklings, Wilson, etc about how they feel, now that they know that House has autism only to be met with general indifference. Maybe it ends when they go to Cuddy and she reminds them what a great doctor House is and all that and eventually they are forced to confront their own internalized ableism.

- PPTH definitely has a float in the pride parade every year

- Chase plays Among Us

- Lesbian Cameron but also CompHet. Like the first couple seasons she hasn’t figured it out yet.

- Hilson is absolutely made canon at some point

The more I think about it, the more I realize how done dirty the Thirteenth Doctor was treated by her exit of the show. I feel like each face of The Doctor is best represented by their first and last moments. Their first moments give us some insight upon what kind of Doctor they will be while their last gives us what they meant to the show, actor, and fans. Let's look at the modern Doctors just to give examples:

Nine is treated as a surprise that no one expected but full of life and energy. By the end, he marks how FANTASTIC it was to get to know Rose and how, despite all expectations, he was pretty fantastic too.

Ten breaks the tension of Nine regenerating by making a quick joke about having new teeth and how weird that is. By the end, he says those haunting words of "I don't want to go," mimicking the thoughts of the fans that adored him while giving a bit of humanity to what's only a face.

Eleven is frantic by the time he regenerates, being jumpy and goofy as he figures out the differences in his body and runs a mental checklist of all the essentials. And, of course, ending the scene with his catchphrase of "Geronimo!" When his run's over, he gives a quick speech that basically sums up the actors thoughts about how he knows he didn't top the last guy, but he had a good time and won't forget any of it.

Twelve's first words is complaining about the color of his kidneys. And given how negative he often acts, it's a pretty good first line. When HIS time's up, he's practically dragged out kicking and screaming as he gives a speech about what the next Doctor SHOULD be, all while "Shepherds Boy," the track from his BEST episode, plays in the background. Capaldi is speaking as both The Doctor wanting to set some ground rules before the next regeneration starts and as a fan of the series hoping that the next person gets things right. Which is what Capaldi is: A FAN of this franchise, hoping for the best.

All of these are memorable and strong moments for each Doctor...Now, let's look at Thirteen's. She's introduced with a wide smile and optimism about being a woman now. And by the end...it feels like she's being shoved out the door, saying that she wished she could have done more before saying a lame quip and being replaced by the fan favorite. Now, on the hand, this DOES represent how fans felt about her run. It doesn't matter if The Doctor was a MAN, WOMAN, or was even NON-BINARY. Chris Chibnall's run was atrocious and everyone just wanted it to END already. The unfortunate thing was that hatred leaked onto the Thirteenth Doctor, who wasn't a bad Doctor by any means. By all accounts, she was fine. But that's exactly how she was done dirty. The first female Doctor in the series' history, and she was given the worst writing out of all of the modern era that nearly killed the show. By the time it came to an end, the show was just getting rid of her as quickly as possible just to get fans back with David Tennant for a ratings boost. It worked in their favor, but it does feel wrong that the fan favorite got the happy ending while 13 got next to nothing.

I don't know. Just something my mind can't help but think given this version of the character.

Given how Megatronus was misappropriated in RID15, I'm just hoping that Megatronus isn't protrayed as EVUL BADMAN GOD OF TEH DECEPTICONS again in Earthspark. We've seen the 13, or at least an interpretation of them and Megatronus wasn't drawn as looking (designwise) in some kind of evil fashion (ie spikes of doom, etc) in fact he kind of looks like a hybrid of Megatron and Optimus Prime, at least in the image shown in "Disarmed".

Also I don't know why, but Liege Maximo, or what I assume to be Liege Maximo in the lineup kind of makes me wonder if Liege in this continuity is female or maybe non-binary. ES Liege also has a hair bun, which I find both funny and neat.

Considering everything i know of earthspark i doubt that Megatronus Prime's depiction will be as strict as Ancient Evil Mc Evilman (no, that feels like a role for a more g1 esque Unicron which i admit I'm hoping for at som eff point), in fact i have a feeling none of the thirteen are going to be outright evil. Even if the theories suggesting there's more to Quintus than his benevolent actions so far, i don't think he's going to be a fully evil character.

Do i still feel like whatever depiction he gets will be filled with angst? Yes, that's based on how i interpreted his Aligned tfwiki entry though. It would be cool if he was a temporary antagonist who becomes/became an ally eventually (I'm having ideas regarding how the thirteen beat back unicron in Aligned, how Megatronus is the most connected with Unicron, the g1 heralds of unicron, and the roving planet eater model of unicron) but that's highly speculative on my part

in light of recent shocking amount of hate towards earthspark, i, as not a fan of transformers pre-earthsparkage (= watching it gave me the interest to search more transformers), want to list all the amazing qualities this show has besides Nightshade being non-binary

1. despite being for kids, this show has subplots that can be explored with an adult vision. the main villain, for instance, is a scientist who went crazy and became the very "monster" he sought to destroy. infusing himself with energon, cutting off (!!!) one of his own arms to stick a cybertonian one with a gun. how bananas is that?? and not something you would see in a cartoon for seven-year-olds

2. the overarching theme of second chances. people being more complex than their labels (and it's not just about gender, you simpletons). the Decepticons not viewed as a purely violent fraction, but as a fight for freedom and will to be different

3. where else are you going to have Bumblebee, a stereotypically light and kid-appeal character, have a "midlife crisis" (quoted directly from earthspark!!). he has so much history already when first introduced, imagine what is left behind the curtains, where the audience can't reach (yet, and won't, if the series gets canceled for such a minor nitpick)

4. Megatron on the side of Autobots? whaaat?? Earthspark is a predecessor of idw's ideas, all the way from the designs of some bots (Tarantulas), to character arcs. didn't a lot of people want an adaptation of idw or mtmte, hm? the Decepticon Leader gets an amazing arc, highlighting how he wants peace for his people, above all else, how he learns from cooperation with Optimus (and *koffs* a fruity relationship *koffs*) and where specifically his loyalties lie

5. new kid characters, who are a rarity in transformer media, with a new view of the famous war of Autobots vs Decepticons. new lore connected to them, somehow intermingled with Quintus Prime, one of the thirteen original Primes (Gods??) like really guys there's a lot here we don'tknow yet!!

to sum it up, i think this is all a thing not to even be focused on. yes, earthspark has it's flaws. the whole pronouns thing is loud in the show, which is what led to this whole conflict. had it been one subtle mention i think it wouldn't make such an uproar. it's very sad.
