Finally watched the first episode of Ahsoka, and I liked it!

I can see what people meant by it being the most Star Wars-feeling show of the shows so far. A lot of the opening visuals are matching A New Hope and the original trilogy, with the slow pan over the ship, the white interior, Rebellion-style ship, and even the opening fight with the Dark Jedi - red and black on white and grey. Very nice!

I admit, the title scroll was a surprise.

#kingdom hearts #kh #ahh this one was so hard to draw; i never know how to combine a bunch of scenes in one picture without it looking cheesy #just threw a bunch of waves and leaves and birds on top and called it a day haha. it might be a bit too busy though #the white line going up the center is supposed to be a trail left behind by the gummi ship! it connects to the ship in the bg at the top #it's kinda meant to evoke little kids dreaming of other places-> getting older and earnestly making the raft to try to reach the dream #->the gummi ship as a premonition of how they'd actually reach the dream in the future. i guess? idk how to explain #and i really wanted to have kairi's expressions be really similar but changing subtly from wonder to worry when she's older #the boys are just max enthusiasm the whole time #but yeah. something something Symbolism and hopefully it's at least kinda pretty if it doesn't make sense #i'm just super proud to have been part of this project! everyone's work is just amazing #the destiny kids give me this soft feeling of kinda lonely nostalgia. it's nice to have a book full of that #very wistful looking through it #fan art #my art #project stuff

Favourite thing to do as a human is picking foreign money from the floor, looking for where it is from, and then finding someone from the money's country and giving it to them just because I can

it achieves absolutely nothing but get people a little bit excited for a few seconds and sometimes it gets me stories about their country or their immigration journey or about their family back home or whatever, so I do get a lot actually, I get the best part

watching tfa for the first time since tlj disappointed me so badly in theatres that I swore off star wars entirely and even though I’ve always been tangentially aware that this is a solid movie watching it again is filling me with SUCH delight

MCR as a band has changed and nobody there cares #I feel like it should be emphasized a bit more that they did not play Foundations of Decay #because a) aforementioned nobody there gave a shit #and b) it would only ring hollow because they AREN'T rising from the rubble here. they BROUGHT OUT THE CORPSES OF WHAT DIED IN THE RUBBLE. #also them playing all of their songs that mock the industry to some degree #(Vampire Money/Boy Division/Planetary GO!) #is a nice touch #unrelated but I could write an entire essay on Boy Division. Lighthearted charming OP song -> Children having a near-death experience in the most surreal way possible #-> Isekai moment -> We get introduced to the ugliest little beasts i've ever seen #-> They spend the rest of the episode almost dying Again -> beast transform into even Uglier beasts & go feral on each other #-> World's calmest most soothing ED sequence that clashes So Hard w/ the tone that was set during the episode it makes ur brain crash. #and thats more-or-less the formula that's been handled throughout the following episodes up until this point #but i suppose I've grown fond of it by now 🧎 I am a Changed man‚ i See the appeal‚ I Understand #well not rly prbablyBut at least each episode keeps me@the edge of my seat now as opposed 2 how i used to enjoy it in more of an ironic way #'tis nice honestly..I've become more appreciative of the kinda vibe the show handles‚ it's got a lot going on :} It's /insanely/ creative

lol i think the reason i don’t feel so negative abt it is that i was expecting it to be a lot worse than it was so when i watched it i was like. oh ok it’s just like teen wolf bad lol. the narrative was p awful but the characters made it for me so i had a good time. also they brought back one of my favorite tv characters whose death scarred me at age 14 or w/e so at the end of the day what do i have to complain abt genuinely. trying to see the best in things these days 🤩 also i don’t even like stiles so i had an advantage going in ngl!

today was a bad brain day. but the honeysuckle plant i've been growing from a cutting for almost a year has finally bloomed and the tiny drop of nectar i got from each flower was delicious. it has felt hard to enjoy anything today, but that did make me happy

#it's nostalgia too #the smell and taste of honeysuckle makes me feel like a kid #also this might be bullshit idk but #the way you carefully pinch the base of the flower to pull the stamen(?) through to get to the little bit of nectar? #it gives me that connected to the human race kinda feeling like people have been doing this for generations #and teaching it to their kids #just like my parents taught me how to do it when i was a kid #and if i have kids hopefully i'll show them too #it's a tiny thing that presumably has negligible sustenance #it's just nice and sweet #so we show one another like hey look i bet you'll like this :)
