He hadn’t exactly meant to fall for her, but somewhere along the way he had. Head over heels in love. However, she was engaged to be married to somebody else and he was about to lose her forever and so he would have to be content. Content with the way that she lay her head on his shoulder at the end of the day after scouting for another mystical creature that you were hoping to discover together. Content with her just being your partner on expeditions and longer sharing late night chats or calls because she would be going home to her fiance. So here you sat, her head resting on your shoulder, your head leaning on top of hers as the two of you watched your creatures playing in the suitcase, content.

Hogwarts legacy MC bio/headcanons

Avian Grey was born to a Welsh witch in the Pyrenees, France (close to Beauxbatons) she does not have any memory of her parents. She was raised by her mothers sister and research partner “Aunt Efa”.

While researching magical creatures in the Pyrenees, Avians mother had an affair with a man from one of the local villages, all Efa knew about him was that he was from a family that had strong Veela lineage. Avians mother passed away not long after giving birth to her.

Ave and Efa had a very nomadic lifestyle traveling from place to place for purpose of Efa’s research. She gained a lot of experience fighting due to run ins with poachers and other undesirables during their travels. Perhaps it was due to her fate as a wielder of ancient magic that the constant traveling caused her to be late in her admission to Hogwarts, and enter as a fifth year.

Her patronus/potential animagus: A hippogriff. Powerful and dignified, once you earn her trust she will protect you fiercely. If you cross her she will fight you.

Coincidentally her name is French for “bird like”.

I like to think the hippogriffs appearing in her storyline are immensely symbolic having to do with those she trusts. For example during her first trip to Hogsmeade with Sebastian two hippogriffs flew out of the forest, perhaps foreshadowing her relationship with him. Especially as they shared their first kiss after she took him to ride highwing (see fanfic for full story). Additionally the creatures have shown up in situations that involve Natty and Poppy.

Her interests:

-flying and magical beasts, love kneazles and has an entire vivarium just for kneazles. Despite her princess like appearance she likes to play as a beater during quidditch, after all she loves a good fight.

-She gets a high off of fighting. During 7th year her and Sebastian spends alot of their “dates” raiding poacher camps, not only because she wants to save beasts and loves fighting but they both find it insanely attractive watching each other fight (hence why their first duel in Hecat’s class is when they started to like one another) their kink is raiding different poacher camps and then doing it in the empty tent afterwards

Her strengths:

Excellent duelist

Highly ambitious and competitive (can also be a flaw if it gets out of hand)

Fiercly protective of those she loves.

Her flaws:

-Slight temper

-Jealous and sometimes manipulative but she’s better at hiding it than Sebastian. If she sees Sebastian talking to another girl she’ll use subtle tactics to get his attention might take her hair tie out for a second to adjust her hair, he doesn’t get to see fully undone often (until they become official) so it gets his attention, she also might loosen her tie and unbutton the first button of her shirt exposing more of her neck. If she’s feeling extra ambitious she’ll go talk to another student who isn’t Ominis, Poppy or Natty and be mildly flirtatious in asking them for help with something.

-Not always the most trusting..better with beasts than people. However she adores Poppy, Natty and Ominis.

-Easily distracted by anything having to do with Sebastian. Will drop important tasks to spend time with him.

After Hogwarts:

After Hogwarts Her and Seb elope in a quiet ceremony with only their close friends present. They start off as aurors but after Ave nearly gets killed while pregnant with their third child they calm down with the fighting obsession and settle for a more quiet lifestyle. They end up taking over Brood and Peck when Ellie decides to relocate and spend a majority of their lives taking care of magical beasts. They eventually wind up having a total of four daughters and three sons, out of which is a pair of twins (boy and girl like Sebastian and Anne). Because they lost so many of their family members when they were younger, a large family is important to them. Their family goes on to be a very well respected wizarding family throughout the decades. Newt Scarmander visits their shop regularly and they’re really fond of him, usually selling him beast-care tools at a high discount. They also see Poppy regularly as she is the care of magical creatures professor at Hogwarts.

Hi! Just wanted to say that I LOVED your “A New Fight” fanfic. I love Star Wars and Stranger Things and your style of writing is amazing too! I was just wondering if I could maybe recommend another fanfic idea? If your not busy. If you are then it’s fine, don’t force yourself to write it.

IDEA: Hogwarts and Stranger Things. There’s the big idea. I love crossovers and stuff and no one has written a Hogwarts Byler / Stranger Things fic. And obviously we could have Brenner as a villain, but also Vecna/Henry/001. I also love the idea of Will and El being twins or something. Jonathan is a few years above and stuff with Nancy and Steve and all that. All the kids are a few years bellow.

I’ll give you the character ideas:

Will Byers

Hufflepuff

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea that he is forced to be a Death Eater by Lonnie (who only returned when he and El turned 17. El refuses the invitation and Will just wants to be accepted by his father - a sort of Malfoy situation). He then gets the Death Eater tattoo and is always wearing long sleeves to cover it up or something.

He’s an artist obviously and always hangs around the Whomping Willow to sketch it. That’s where he meets Mike.

Mike Wheeler

I was struggling to define what house he would be in. The Duffers said Mike was a Griffindor but I feel like his sense of style and stuff fits Slytherin. So Slytherin it is :)

He’s a writer so I mean, yeah. I haven’t planned Mike out really but he lashes out at Will when he learns he is apart of the Death Eaters.

I have not planned anyone else really. The plot and characters are yours to write :)

Just like to add that the El, Mike and Will love triangle thing should be included just for plot and stuff.

Also: Suzie and Dustin are literally Newt Scarmander with the creatures in the towers.

If you’d like to do this idea, which you don’t have to if your busy, then thank you! I’ve always wanted to read a Hogwarts / Stranger Things fanfic and your writing style would fit perfectly!

however... I'm not gonna write this 😅 I really don't like harry potter anymore - it was pointed out to me how much of rowling's bigotry seeps into her writing, and it's uncomfy to read. and even if I could look past it, it would feel like a betrayal to my trans friends in particular to endorse the writing of someone whose opinions and platform actively make their lives harder.

I love receiving prompts though, so feel free to make other suggestions if you have any!

JK Rowling missed a great opportunity with fantastic beats series by not making it a TV show

Think about it. Instead of all this damn subplot of Dumbledore and Grindelwald and all that shit, there's a real missed opportunity to have a great kids show with a monster of the week premise that works.

Hear me out. Start off with a one hour special or hour and a half thing right. First episode we meet Newt. He's got a magical suitcase full of animals. He meets people. We see a bit of the wizarding world of New York. Cool. Then his suitcase is opened by Kowalski and bam! Buddy comedy about catching all the escaped magical animals! Every episode is an adventure. And we learn that some of them were picked up by sideshows, or flew off to parts unknown, and now newt and his muggle friend go cross country to recapture them. Also, newt is writing his book!

And when we get bored of newt and his adventures, you know what can come next for another TV series or a new season? Rolf Scarmander and his girlfriend Luna Lovegood going around the world seeking out new creatures for a new edition of the fantastic beasts book!

You guys know this would be a much better and interesting thing than the actual movies we've got so far. Like, take all the obscurious crap from the first film, keep only the good parts with finding the fantastic beasts and just make this a really good ass show instead of mediocre movies.

Jeeez, this is gonna be one of the "I loved it, BUT..." posts, isn't? Why couldn't you just fudgin enjoy the movie?

Well, I did. Enjoy it, I mean.

SPOILERS

The graphic was great, the little details, acting, scenery, creatures and features, all these things made the movie very enjoyable. Even the plot, the lead, was enjoyable.

I loved the actor, who played young Newt, he was just brilliant. I fell in love with Theseus, whom I pictured as annoying, but he ended up being hiant teddy bear. I expected Leta to be cruel, but she was just lost and I enjoyed her dearly. I was happy Jacob was back and being himself. I laughed at the casual show of Sorcerers' stone and was pleasantly surprised with introduction of Nicholas Flamel. I was captured in Grindelwalds' art of manipulation with people.

Yet the giant facts, that didn't match up anything Rowling stated as a canon years ago, that hurt. It stinged, it sucked and it almost ruined the rest of the movie for me.

Let's start with some things I might have gor wrong, but that just didn't sit well with my fact check.

- Albus Dubledore teaching The Defence Against Dark Arts. When, why, how. This one is the one I allow to be truth, but I couldn't help thinking 'Erm... Wasn't Albus Transfiguration professor?' Also, didn't Tom Riddle later state that he wanted the position of DADA teacher, since the one, who taught it, was teaching it for fifty years already and it certainly wasn't Dumbledore? Just curious.

- Minerva McGonagall in Hogwarts. What. Even. That just doesn't sit with Rowling's timeline for MM at all. The storyline of movie is seated in 20s and Minerva hasn't been born till 1935!

- Students in Hogwarts classes had more than just one colour on their robes, and they surely weren't in advanced classes yet! That was just stupid mistake, really.

- The Final One is of course: Aurelius Dumbledore. That is some of the bullest shoot I have ever heard and I really hope for it to be lie from Grindelwald, but that is really not what I want to call out for. I mean, even if he was Albus', Ariannas' and Aberforths' brother, how big is possibility for Leta to exchange him with her brother. That's right, you guessed it, none.

- I have few more questions, that didn't sit really well with me and I am still confused about; What's the deal with the last male heir of Lestrange family, when in HP there are Rudolphus and Rabastan? The Queenie plot also stinks, since she wishes to marry nomag or muggle, and Grindelwald even over his flowerly words spits on them everytime he talks. Let's not even talk about that friggin "Spread that we don't fight with violence, yet they do." when obviously the girl was waving her wand first. What's mirror of Erised doing in Hogwarts again and why the hell it shows Dumbledore his past and not his desire? Also, how come everybody frickin knows Dumbledore? I was under impression, that him defeating Grindelwald was, what made him famous in the first place?

My head hurts. I hope next three movies will bring a lots of light into a lot of things.

Spying on a Magizoologist

Graves had it on good authority that Newt Scamander was back in New York. He wasn't here on an official capacity and he knew Tina was out of town on assignment.

Magical creatures were still illegal in America and all known breeders had been closed down, their animals taken into custody. He always ensured they ended up in Scamanders care, having no interest in harming the creatures. Some were even... cute. Except the Niffler. That little bastard had tried to steal his cufflinks, his watch, his scorpion lapel pins and his loose change.

Newt being in the country wasn't an issue. However if he had brought that blasted case with with him, accidentally released some creatures loose again... He needed to find him and ensure the man was only visiting and not breaking any laws.

He had already looked at a few places and come up empty. He had no more place that he would try before calling it quits for the day.
