My strength and my song

The Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song. 2 Nephi 22:2

I came across this verse today and I was inspired to write about what this verse means to me and how Jesus is my strength and my song

My Strength

When I am stressed and scared, He gives me courage. He helps me to continue trying and not lay down and give up when the only hope in sight is His promises, and not something earthly and tangible.

In all other times, He helps me to be my best self and constantly improve. To focus on my gifts and love for others. To be patient when I am frustrated. To make choices that improve my relationships. To trust in Him and His promises. He reassures and comforts me. He makes me achieve things I couldn’t achieve on my own.

My song

Through the good and bad times, He is always in my heart and my mind. Like a song, that comforts, that empowers, that celebrates joy and hugs you when you are filled with sorrow. Like a song, He feels every emotion with me. Like a song, He inspires me to sing praises and to open my heart to Him and to others. Like a song, He helps me to experience my emotions in a meaningful and productive way. Like a song, He makes life better, more interesting, more beautiful.

I know that He is my strength and song.

I take notes on my phone at church. A few weeks ago, I kept trying to type “Nephi” but autocorrect kept changing it to “Mephistopheles” 🤣

… which I find funny on multiple levels:

1- Nephi —> Mephistopheles… like … that’s a *9 letter difference*

2- Nephi was a righteous prophet. Mephistopheles was a devil who stood in for Lucifer when Dr. Faustus sold his soul to Satan in exchange for power.

Ok, so I have a new Theory: Laban & Lehi are Brothers

Laban is the Firstborn. In ancient Israelite Inheritance, the Elder Son received a Double Portion. So, as part of his Portion, Laban received the Brass Plates. As the Second Son, Lehi still received much wealth

So, we get to the Book of Mormon story. The Bene Lehi (Sons of Lehi) go to their father's house, and collect their wealth. Laban sees the inheritance that he was unable to acquire, and gives a false charge of robbery. Then, after his death, Zoram meets this guy who looks & sounds just like his master (unless my Wife's Aunt is right & Zoram is Near-sighted). Also, with Laban's Death (justified under the Law of Moses), if Laban had no children, his property would've transferred to Lehi (as the next child)

Of course, Laban could've been Lehi's Nephew (firstborn of his oldest brother). Then the Ages would match up, and it would explain why he had no children to inherit the Brass Plates. But they're related somehow

Woo! More refs I’ve done!

1) Revamp of my first DND oc, Kit! She’s got much more muscle on her now than I used to draw her with! She’s grown so much!

2) My bby, Nephinae got a revamp and I love how its turned out! I was originally going to keep her fully pink hair, but then I tested how she’d look with it just on the ends and I fell in love!

3) I really loved Danica’s concept and I wanted to turn it into a proper ref and I’m loving the results!
